I am so glad I waited to see this episode. It got tempting after a while, but I hung in there and my patience was rewarded. As for the comic, these two couples sure fell hard for each other. And Sweetie proves she's way smarter than anyone would have guessed.
I'm not sure, but I think the episode where the CMC's sing in the talent show had Twilight and Cheerilee hanging out together, apparently. At least, they arrive at the library together to surprisingly find the CMC's there and Spike wishing they weren't.
I'm one of those people who's convinced that Twilight and Cheerilee are very good friends, only we never see it onscreen. Twi was clearly hanging out with Cheerilee helping with the talent show, and she apparently borrows chalkboards from her. I can buy that the town schoolteacher and the town genius/acting librarian would get along really well.
However, I'm also pretty certain that Twilight's one true love is Princess Celestia.
@wackypony As far as I'm aware, it comes from a fanfic called Romance Reports. One easy place to find it is on FIMFiction. As a warning, it is one that will never be included on EQ Daily, because it is very much a porn with plot story...extremely well written at that, even if it does use present tense writing, and also has a few weak story elements.
Anyway, in regards to the comic itself: absolutely hysterical.
To be honest, I've never actually read or heard of The Romance Reports. The main inspiration for my love of Twilight x Cheerilee was a story called The Grade F Drinking Game. Well, that and the general idea that the Teacher and the Librarian make a completely adorkable pairing. =D
I'm so happy most folks seem to like my comic! Thanks everyone, your nice comments mean the world to me!
I thought I would have to declare this episode non-canon, because of course Big Macintosh would never cheat on Caramel...but then the writers did it in a way that still leaves it open to any interpretation you want!
Honestly, I think this is the first time this season has really touched on genius...they did a Cheerimac episode, but it wasn't voluntary for either pony, so shippers are still free to pair them up however they want! I can't help but feel like that was an intentional Valentine's gift to the fan community...especially since the introduction of a canon Love Potion means that ALL canon relationships are now open to creative retcon...

All my love for Twirilee!
ReplyDeleteI would think the illusion would be broken the moment they call each other Twilight and Smarty Pants.
ReplyDelete@Spikely Whiplash
ReplyDeleteThat would be why the spell makes them call each other silly names instead then. :-D It works!
I'll be honest, I liked this until the Twilight and Cheerilee ship showed up. Then again I also can't stand shipping (especially same gender stuff).
ReplyDeleteThis level of understanding from Sweetie Bell? She sets things on FIRE (unintentionally) with her magic!

This is amazing, just throwing in a Harry Potter reference made it that much more entertaining.
ReplyDeleteOMG Twilight x Cheerilee!! I ship so much.
ReplyDeleteI just realized that this whole relationship is based of Twilight Sparkle...
