With the recent announcement from Hasbro, some restructuring is going on over at the next Bronycon. The new chair has a short press release for everyone to chew on while they plug some holes up and get everything rolling for this summer. Check that out after the break!
They also have openings on their artist alley for those of you looking for sell things. Hit up their website here for more information on that.
Hello, all!
I'm Andrew (aka Zebranky), the new convention chair for BronyCon, and I'd like to introduce myself to the congoers and the community at large. I've been involved with this convention since the original event last June, and I started and still co-organize the Boston meetups. I came into the first BroNYCon looking to do whatever I could to make it run better, and I carry that same spirit into this position.
Carrying forward the momentum that Purple Tinker has set in motion, our event this summer is poised for incredible success. We have an enormous venue: the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, just over the river from the heart of Manehattan. Our team has the skills and experience to do almost anything - I've loved working with them so far, and I'm beyond excited to see what we'll do between now and the end of June.
I want to take this opportunity to update everyone on the status of our Guests of Honor, Mrs. Lauren Faust and Mr. John de Lancie. Right now, Hasbro is developing their policy to help handle the volume of appearance requests that those involved with the show are receiving. At the same time, we're nailing down details with our announced guests. There's nothing to be concerned about right now - we have every reason to believe that this will go as planned, and that we'll be able to announce more special guests as we get closer to the con.
If you're just hearing (or remembering) about us now, check us out at www.bronycon.org. On behalf of everyone here, thank you for your continued interest and support, and we hope to see you this summer!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly at andrew@bronycon.org.
All the best,
Andrew.

ReplyDeleteThis will come in handy very much! Thanks, Andrew!

ReplyDeleteAlready bought my ticket. :D
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to go. Why must I be so far away from such an awesome event?
ReplyDeleteI'm always afraid someone will do something stupid. I know we wouldn't try to but shit happens
ReplyDeleteNicky said Andrew ^^
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda funny when you think about it: The "God" and "Devil" of the FiM universe are going to appear together at Bronycon.
ReplyDeleteAgain, thanks for the clarification
ReplyDeleteSounds good. Now I just need money and a mode of transport. It's only about an hour from me.
ReplyDeleteWanna go but I live on the wrong side of the country. :)
ReplyDeleteHasbro's got to get their merde together because we demand things from them too quickly.
ReplyDeleteGood times. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso: Zebranky? Mad props for that one. I sometimes use Fwiffo as a character name in some games. :-D
I think... some of us who... were places during... times, figured some things might happen. But that's fine. Glad to hear things are progressing well and as planned so far.
ReplyDeleteThat feeling when you're a country away and you're broke
ReplyDeletefeels bad bro
Hasbro should probably hire at least one employee to deal specifically with our little community.
ReplyDeleteman i wish i could go :P
ReplyDeleteJust wanna add that we're coming up with a lot of great new events and attractions this time around, and believe me, this sucker's a 2-day event for a reason!
ReplyDelete@Railgun: Even more so if they get Nicole Oliver again.
ReplyDeleteJohn de Lancie's going? Jesus mother of fuck. I'd honestly be more excited to meet him than anyone else attending.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is thank god.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping that there can be some voice actors' panels this time, where they do episode readings, more character voice requests, and (EVEN BETTER), live performances of songs from the show by the original singers. That alone would justify the $65.00.
ReplyDeleteI really want to go but im in Sweden.. And nothing is happening here, so it would be awesome.. But i really dont have enough money (take alot of pictures please) .. :)
ReplyDeleteI would go, if only i could get rid of my ashaming accent.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine that Hasbro would put sanctions in place on how the character voices would be used. That is, I predict that we won't have the luxury of asking the VA's to "do the voice except say something funny". I also imagine Hasbro will come out with appearance rates, and what cut they will get. After all, time is money and it's certainly not fair to drag somebody like Ashleigh aware from her gigs with Hey Ocean without compensating her somehow(aside from usual expenses). That's all my guess. Just think that things will be treated a bit more like how one would have to treat a guest appearance from William Shatner or whoever else.
ReplyDeleteWell after reading her DA journal I can only hope she gets some time to relax now.
ReplyDelete@mrsteroids
ReplyDeleteDon't be ashamed! I'm going and I have a really thick Hungarian accent!
@Octavia
ReplyDeleteOh, Octavia, y u so cryptic?
Man, I wish I could go. But it IS all the way across the country...
ReplyDeletei had an idea, maybe the fandom could pool together a sizeable "appearance fee" for them both. it'd at least show hasbro how much we care.
ReplyDeletereplace sizeable with modest. my bad
ReplyDeleteGlad they did this release, I didn't know which website to go to so that I could RSVP. Probably won't make both days, but I do love when I actually have something I want to go to/see.
ReplyDeleteIt's midnight Woohoo! Also ponies are staying up too....
ReplyDeleteGoing to try my best to make it there. I'm a Trek fan and I've never got to meet John de Lancie, so if I can get his autograph, everything else will just be icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'd most like to see: Bronycon in Boston.
ReplyDeleteYikes, what made Tinker decide to step down?
ReplyDeleteThese posts! They're teasing those who can't make it ><
ReplyDeleteImagine if every brony in the world went O.O
Well, I won't go unless I win the lottery some time soon, but it seems like it'll be great.
ReplyDelete... why would you Omit PurpleTinker's letter?
ReplyDeletelooks like the con is in capable hands. And I'm glad P.T. is getting some well-deserved rest.
ReplyDelete@Wlah
ReplyDeleteThe worry-wart bronies would be all over this post going "OMG OMG HOW TERRIBLE" if that had been done.
If only I wasn't stuck in Denmark. IF ONLY.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling bro(ny), I'm stuck here in Sweden :(
ReplyDeleteCan't go to this one but I've gotta start saving up for the BronyCon after this one, whenever that'll be. Well, at least we others have the livestreams.
ReplyDeleteGoing there from Belgium, ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat announcement from Hasbro?
ReplyDeleteIf you guys only knew.
ReplyDeleteBought my ticket a month ago. It is after all only a nine hours flight. :D Any other Danish bronies going?
ReplyDeleteIf those arseholes at Fox News show up this year, I'm gonna be pissed.
ReplyDeleteDAMNIT! If it were in Midtown, I'd go. But now since it is relocatd in NJ, I guess its goodbye to BronyCon. My birthday is officially ruined.
