We have four new BGM's from the two most recent episodes. Daring-Do really did sound like something straight from the Indiana Jones or Star Wars movies. Why is pony so epic?
1.) MLP: FiM BGM - Daring Into The Temple
2.) MLP:FiM BGM: Hearts and Hooves Day Song
3.) The Daring Escape
4.) MLP:FiM BGM: Love Poison

ReplyDeleteSeth, to answer your question, Pony is epic because awesome people make it.
ReplyDelete^_^ YES
ReplyDeleteDaring Do is epic because she's "Adventurous, fierce, and undeniably, unquestionably, unstoppable" Just like me
ReplyDeleteSounds like John Williams...
ReplyDeleteI like that.
Great music, as always.
ReplyDeleteYeah... the BGM from Daring Do does sound a bit like the music from lucasfilms.
ReplyDeleteWith or without vocals, I love the Hearts and Hooves Day song. Such a fun and cute little tune.
ReplyDeleteAll the Daring Do music is dynamic and dramatic just as you'd expect for adventure scenes.
These are all so great... both the music and the videos. I can always appreciate the animation more when the dialog is removed as well.
ReplyDelete#1 at 0:28 it sounds like a blaster being fired.
ReplyDeleteGod, that song is even cuter as a instrumental somehow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these Seth.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Daring Do music - it had that John Williams / Indiana Jones-esque feel while still maintaining its own unique style.
Whelp, ppl said they wanted a Bella Notte tribute. They got it. They just didn't get the spaghetti.
ReplyDeleteThe Daring Do music is simply magnificent. I mean this is silver screen cinema worthy stuff just for a kid's show! As always, MLP far outstrips the status quo.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutly fantastic music, love the Daring Do music, William seriously creates some magic when he writes these

ReplyDeleteI agree - If Will Anderson's scores were being performed by a real orchestra, they would be movie quality! As it is they're great, but you can still occasionally tell that they're using instrument samples instead of real instruments.
@Vipera
ReplyDeleteYep. Definitely is. Stealth sound design joke! I'm surprised we didn't get a Wilhelm Scream.
At the start, Love Poison reminds me of music from Lady and the Tramp.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie: "What sounds better, John Williams, or William Anderson? Or what if I combined them? John William Anderson! Pickle Barrel Kumquat!"

ReplyDeleteThe background music is awesome: it blends in with the show so well that you hardly notice it without the speaking lines and sound effects taken out. But when they are taken out, it could almost stand alone.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do music....
ReplyDeleteAmg...
So good :D
Not only is William awesome, but watching these reminds me how amazing the animators are. There's so much storytelling in just the expressions and music alone!
