Wait... Ponyville in MY Super Mario 64? This is a first! Of all the games I expected to have a recreated Equestria in, this is probably the last! I didn't even know it was possible to modify this game. Such memories...

ReplyDeleteSo Awesome n____n
ReplyDeleteDo want o_0
ReplyDeleteDoes my comment count as first then? Since I called first?
ReplyDeleteHOLY BUCK...
ReplyDeleteI THOUGHT YOU WERE JUST GONNA THOUGH THIS IN A NIGHTLY ROUND-UP OR SOMETHING.
I'm soooo going to do a full pony SM64 hack now ^_^
Such memories indeed. Though some of the earlier ones were throwing fits because I couldn't get past a certain point. Not like later, when I could clear the game in a day if I started early enough. Wonder how you would go about getting the stars on this level. Anyway, this is a cool mod, and I will NEVER, EVER get tired of the song used here. Good job on this mod.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite awesome. A lot of work must've been put into this.
ReplyDeleteCongrats for making it onto Equestria Daily's 100 million celebration
Well, that's really cool.
ReplyDeleteMario 64 is one of my favorite videogames of all time, and seeing this makes me stupidly happy.
Mario is best pony
ReplyDeleteWow. 0 to 100,000,000 hits in just over a year. Fandom explosion.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Equestria Daily!
Awesome, I loved playing SM64.
ReplyDeleteI loved this game. I found the final star in my HEAD while at school. The final star was the star you get for collecting the 8 red coins from the final bowser access level. I was bored in high school, and so I closed my eyes and started doing a visual fly through of the level. Eventually, I noticed a black space in my mental image. My mind couldn't render in the content of the space behind the windy platform right at the end of the level from that angle. I decided I'd check it out when I got home.
ReplyDeleteSure enough, there was a hidden ledge behind there, and the final red coin was under the ramp leading to the warp pipe to the final battle with bowser.
I will always have fond memories of that game...
And now I can have pony memories of that game! yay
Now, let's make it 1 Billion shall we?
ReplyDeleteHoly Celestia that is epic. Plus Dat song <3
ReplyDelete@richfiles As I saw it, the red coin stars were always the most "fun" to obtain. I'm just lucky I had a steady handle on the joystick, or that would have made the game a touch more frustrating. I never would have thought of doing what you did; playing through a level in my head. That's a good tip there for those that are capable of visualizing it.
ReplyDeleteWTH, you can do that? This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling we were going to hit 1 million fairly soon. I'm just sad I was asleep when it happened. Congrats Seth. Who would have thought a fan blog about My Little Pony could have ever come this far?
ReplyDelete@Jake
ReplyDeleteOh, geez, I'm still half-asleep. I meant to say 100 million.
Yay! 100 mil were all crazy for being up at this hour....onless you are in another part of the world
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I came here for the video, but I just cannot bring myself to leave until the song is done!
ReplyDelete@Ahiam94 When I realised I forgot to record the sound, I basically added the song in just for that exact reason.
ReplyDeleteI'm so devilish.
Ah, I remember when these types of graphics were considered "good" :D
ReplyDeleteNot sure if anypony has said it yet, but I'll say it. Mama-mia, though I think I said it wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt amuses me to think that, with the size Mario seems to be, Spike would look pretty much like Bowser to him.
ReplyDeleteA cool project!
Mario is best human
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We can't wait for this to be finished! We wish you luck in this glorious endeavor!
ReplyDeleteBrings back so many childhood memories... And mixed with ponies? =) This is awesome! Great job :D
ReplyDeleteThis looks good. I want to play it. D: For those who didn't know Mario 64 is hackable like that, you are missing out on possibly the best video game hack ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JBdxcnyxeQ
ReplyDelete(Not pony related, but amazing all the same)
The nostalgia created by this video is immense.
ReplyDeletenot bad
ReplyDelete@HatMario is a pony's best friend.
ReplyDeleteIt kinda reminds me of Toontown at Disneyland for some reason XD
ReplyDeleteMario, the world's most iconic video game mascot, IS OFFICIALLY A BRONY!!!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteSuper Mario 64 can be hacked with a program named ToadTool 64. Don't ask me the link, I don't know it.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the guys who did this are awesome!

Now you know it. :)
@Nightmare Moon Mamamia doesn't have a - I believe.
That Pixel-Pinkie Shrugging in the beginning of the video (up on the wall)? Me. I made it. :D Didn't know someone actually liked it.
ReplyDeleteStill, a lil' shout out from whoever made this video would have been the decent thing to do.
Wow. Dem memories and nostalgia. lol Looks cool.
ReplyDeletethat is absolutely insane and I love it.
ReplyDeleteNow someone needs to do this with Zelda, preferably Wind Waker cause I think the style would fit ponies but I have no idea if hacking/editing programs exist for any of the Zelda games.
I came for the video, I stayed for the music :)
ReplyDeleteWow my favorite childhood game just became 20% cooler!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah. People have been able to modifiy Super Mario 64 to have new models, textures, and everything for a few years now. It's pretty awesome. People have made all kinds of hacks and even entirely new full games.
