For some reason, I went immediately for #3. I immediately lost it the minute the music started playing. That is my absolute favorite SNL sketch. Add Pinkie and you've got THE BEST BUCKING VIDEO EVER!!!
It never ceases to amaze when I see the Aperature Science 1.1volts potato camera in use. Nah, but in all seriousness, this one was good, made me laugh a few times, it just really shouldn't have used a potato for the task of recording.
Yes, I did get around to the other two...sort of. Really enjoyed #1. I've heard bits and pieces of that song, but only now did I hear it in full, and in PMV form no less. I'll have to finish watching #2 later if I ever want to put together a passable submission for the artist training ground, but I'm liking what I see already.
#1 Awesome choice of song. Some parts were really well done, others weren't though (what the hell is going on? Didn't quite work...) as well as using happy ponies for "Jay committed suicide and Brandon OD'ed and died" thought to be fair, the ponies are usually happy so slim pickins I guess. Now all we need is a PMV for The Offspring's "Why Don't You Get a Job?"
#2 Too long, not a Star Wars fan, didn't watch. I know, shame on me.
#3 This is definitely what Pinkie sings to start her day every morning. And to answer her question, it's crack.
Today I learned that movie trailers have come a long, long way in the past 30 years. I also learned that The Empire Strikes Back was ahead of its time in this regard.
But seriously, Star Wars + pony = awesome! My night is complete.
Is it just me, or did #1 try to hit every PMV cliche in the choruses? Sonic Rainboom? Check. Vanquishing Nightmare Moon? Check. Vanquishing Discord? Check. Mane 6 Cutie Mark stories? Check.

ReplyDeleteFunny how the text lines up to read: it's just a big ol' pile of tired. The Ponies aren't alright.
ReplyDelete#1's awesome. I like the song, and scene selection was good, too.

@Bombedrumbum It's my comedic way of remarking on the 240pony video quality.
ReplyDelete@Jelfes okay
ReplyDeleteDear Princess Celestia:

The Star Wars one was good, I just had to fast forward to the IV-VI part. No stomach left in me for I-III. Powerful, let me tell you.
ReplyDelete#2 "...now back in the tree!" Oh... I totally lost it right there.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw a PMV for my favourite Offspring song, my head asploded. But then it kind of sucked. :C
ReplyDelete@Daisy Cake It isn't the easiest song to make a PMV of if you think of what the song is all about =P
ReplyDelete@Bootsa Good job Bootsaduckies!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the 3rd one a parody of? I love it.
ReplyDeleteAndy Samberg as Pinkie Pie is genius.

ReplyDeleteIf you didn't like that one, you might wanna try "The Fillies Aren't Alright".
I didn't like the way #3 was edited, they got rid of some of the best jokes in the song.
