"Alright, let's check that site for ticket prices." *2 minutes later* "$30 a person?! Well, it is for ponies... Let's see... 5 people at $30 each..." Sorry, ponies. I'm broke, and so I have failed you.
Depends on the sort of paint used. There are certain types safe for animals that are sold in pet stores around halloween. It washes off fairly easy and tends to be non toxic.[Sometimes haveing connections to humansociety, animal control and wildlife rehabilitation agents pays off. ] I would rather it be painted ponies than pony suits.
Well it looks like if you buy online you get two adult tickets for $30 and that comes with some free children tickets as well. So it is essentially $15 each for an even-numbered group and even less if you have children in that group.
Hrm, having a picture of Prime instead of any ponies sounds like it's just a play on words and the 'pony parade' won't have any relation to My Little Pony...
...Definitely something the Flim Flam Brothers would try to pull off.
Well, hate to go a spoil everyone's fun, but this is something I REALLY would not support at all. Circuses are sort of notorious for animal abuse, and Ringling is well know for it's abuse of elephants especially:
Just look it up on YouTube and other sites too: Ringling aren't the only idiots who do this kind of stuff.
First time I went to a circus was also my last, as it was pretty sickening to see a chained elephant sitting around outside, really not looking very good.
Don't really know too much about how they treat ponies at circuses, but I have seen pony 'carousels', and while I can't outright say it was abuse, I doubt the ponies enjoyed standing all day tied up around a 'carousel', with random kids jumping on their backs all the time. I wouldn't know, and I can't say I know what a 'pony parade' is either (maybe it's not even real ponies??).
Dunno about you guys, but I sure as heck wouldn't support a place that just happened to have the biggest fine for animal abuse in circus history. :P
^ Wait, why did I think this was about Ringling?? /facehoof Well, I dunno about Piccadilly, but ANY circus with animals, especially elephants, tends to have at least some animal abuse going on, so it's probably not much better.
Though given the distinct lack of actual adorable brightly-coloured equines on the poster in combination with the comments so far, I can't help but get the impression that I won't be missing much. :B
Aww, too bad I don't live down in Texas anymore. Though I believe San Antonio was a good ways away from me anyway. Can't say it's the first pony parade I've seen, but still sounds like fun.
Anyone remember the Horse of a Different Color in the Wizard of Oz movie? I read that the MGM prop people used some kind of harmless non-toxic colored Jello to make the horse yellow, then red, and then purple. Hopefully the Ringling crew, if it does actually paint their ponies, uses something equally as harmless. (Pinkie Pie voice) And as yummy!
Yay San Antonio is only 2 1/2 hours away.... Too bad I'm not old enough to drive. I can always walk! Now to start packing... This better not dissapoint! Also Optimus Prime is now a pony!!!
@Criminal9021 I... I'd never seen that video before...
Why... for the love of Celestia, why? I can't... it doesn't... I... noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

well that's ... strange... There's a picture there but it's certainly not Pinkie Pie

ReplyDeleteLet's hope the costumes aren't horrid abominations.
ReplyDeleteAssuming there's costumes.
Actually I have no idea what to expect for a parade with ponies in it.
Shut up, we already know this is what everyone's thinking about.

Sorry, ponies. I'm broke, and so I have failed you.
I wonder if there just going to paint up some ponies? Wouldn't that count as animal cruelty?

This can only end badly
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad it specified "My Little", because that's not what I thought of first upon hearing the phrase "pony parade". c.c

The My Little Pony Parade, featuring everyone's favourite pony, Optimus Prime!
ReplyDeleteAt the very least, they're from the same company...
*Recalls live show* No... NO... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

ReplyDelete"Elephant Extravaganza"
ReplyDeletePASS.
Not going to give money to animal abusers.
@Bunnay you too? Carpool time
ReplyDeleteMy Little Pony via Circus Parade? That's a good sign. :)
ReplyDeletePlay the Parasprite Song and I will travel!
ReplyDeleteNow, how to get to San Antonio...?
ReplyDeleteWhy is Texas the *pun* -HUB- of all things pony related?
ReplyDelete> sees mention of "Piccadilly Circus"
ReplyDeleteOh boy! That's on my continent!
> noticed the "San Antonio"
WHY?

Time to beg my parents to let me go to a city that's just 3 hours away, just for this.
ReplyDeleteBecause ponies are the BEST reason to go.
San Antonio? ~WOOHOO
ReplyDeleteSan Antonio? ~WOOHOO
ReplyDeleteMy brother is in Lackland AFB. I should call him up and tell him to go to this. :)

ReplyDeleteMy reaction: OMFG, a Pony Parade in London? Squee!
ReplyDelete... oh. OK.
Someone in San Antonio, please go figure out what the hay this is supposed to be. I'm confused. Video optional.
ReplyDeleteBecause I live in Texas, my first thought was that I had to go to this. Then I realized that I want nothing to do with the next "Brony Pizza Hunt."
ReplyDeleteits also in Killeen Texas... im just saying.
