Lehigh Valley Meetup
Pretty nice turnout there there! Have some copy paste:
All I have to say is....WOW!! The Lehigh Valley Bronies came out in force.
I was expecting a turn out of about a dozen or so, but we had a grand total of 25 bronies come from far and wide. That's right, we had bronies from Reading to Brooklyn come to the meet up.We watched the latest episode, played Trivia is Magic, had some pony karaoke, ate a ton of food, and a showed off a bunch of pony gear as we talked about our favorite subject: ponies

Belgium Meetup
Copy Paste:
What’s that? You want another Belgian meet up? Well, too bad! I… Oh wait, we actually do have another meetup scheduled.
Our next Belgium meetup will take place on Saturday 10th of March in Antwerp at 12 pm. We will gather at Antwerp Central Station. From there we will raid the city like last time.
We're currently looking into renting an indoor location and we've found a few places that'd suit for a meetup like this one.
We’ve had a very successful first meetup with 37 bronies attending. We hope that this number will rise with the next meetup.
You can contact us for further information on our Facebook page and our forum topic. Just like last time, we will have 2 Facebook pages; a closed one (So other people won’t be able to see who’s attending unless they sign up, etc…) and a public one.

Nice.
ReplyDeleteMeetup edition pretty much sums it up. 'Cause that's practically all there is here. That and some pony karaoke. I know I'll find some use for that down the road, but I can't figure one out right now.
ReplyDeleteugh... furries
ReplyDeleteVinyl Yacht FTW!!!
ReplyDeleteLolz I love the cider count in the Flim Flam brothers vid!
ReplyDeleteD: So little on todays NR
ReplyDelete:D Cool
ReplyDeleteNIU has a Brony Club?! Darn! I wish WIU has one. I'm too afraid to start one, though. :| Even though I am a "independent" brony, and my friends respect that I like MLP, I don't have any friends that likes MLP as I do.
ReplyDeleteSo starting a club by myself would be humiliating and difficult to get it going. :/ Huhhmmm... :(
A lyrics video? Sweet! Now I can memorize the words to the soundtrack of my mind.
ReplyDeleteAlso, So many costumes...
@Tirion
ReplyDeleteNot a fan i assume
Vinyl's just really excited I let her paint my boat those... interesting colors and use those specific shades of tint on the windows.
ReplyDeleteYay, a karaoke version of the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 tune. I absolutely love that song and dance. I could sing along to it and watch Bonbon dance to it all day. lol Though I feel like it might be better if the voices in the video got toned down just a bit as to not overpower those singing along. I do like some of the little images they snuck down in the lyrics. Cute. :P
And so many much meets... on the moon... for me! I see our very fun Ohayocon meet stuffs got posted. Very good! Come join us for more awesome Brony fun and excitement!
I wish I could go to one of the Melbourne ones considering that I live about an hour outside of Melbourne but no one can drive me (I don't have a license)
ReplyDeleteshort round up tonight isny it? oh well
ReplyDeletenow if you'll excuse me i hear that vinyl scratch plushy calling my name
@Tirion
ReplyDeleteCall the jets, Stevie.
We're leaving this horrible place.
Every time I see a list of meetups, both successful and being planned, I feel a little merrier though I have never participated in any. Strange but nice ^^
ReplyDelete@TirionEverything has its pros and cons, even the bronies. At least some of these furry chicks are hot ;)
ReplyDeleteOhayocooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!
ReplyDeleteSO MANY FRIENDS.
MEXICALI!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDauwwm never thought I would see that, I'm totally going :D
@Tirion
ReplyDeleteI used to feel that way until I realized that hating on furries is immature and no different than hating on other particular groups of people.
YOU'VE GOT OPERTUNITEEEEEE IN THIS VERY COMUNITEEEEEE...that's catchy :D
ReplyDeleteI never seemed to have problems with furry, or furry related communities. As long as they keep to where they belong, I'm fine. Something us, bronies, could use some help on.
ReplyDeleteI saw that opening picture and immediately thought of that song that goes "I'm on a Boat" by Lonely Island that I can't remember the name of.
ReplyDelete@GreatAndMightyChampion
ReplyDeleteWe need help confining ourselves? ...Nah. I'd say that we've already set up a system of testing the boundaries and spreading to whatever website we are able, and I wouldn't mind if furries or any other fandoms/subcultures did the same.
Gotta love how fans of a show that teaches love and tolerance still bash on furries :P
ReplyDeleteI approve of this Vinyl Scratch shipping.
ReplyDeleteI don't how people do these meetups, I would just.....f-find it....so awkward....
ReplyDeleteWe could only talk about our love for the show and the conversation would end. I don't know how people do it.
Haha I love the random furry on the first Ohayocon picture
ReplyDeleteYeah, I never thought I'd see my face on Equestria Daily!
ReplyDeleteThe moral of Leeds meet-up: Bronies have a pretty terrible sense of direction and ASDA's full of trolls.
Yay! They finally posted the Ohayocon meet up! I was so glad I could be there, hehe, and right before the pic, I was like "inb4 furry rage!" But it seems not too many people are upset with me being in my fursuit. It seems that we all are finally loving and tolerating, lol.
ReplyDeleteOh! And if you all didnt notice my Pinkie Pie's Party Pack at the bottom left of the picture, check again. Its a portable 5.1ch speaker vest.
@Ren Fox
Why, thank you, my good fellow! Love the random loving furry comment ^^
nice :)
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteMaybe. But it's what society wants to bring our reputation up think of it as leaders, followers, and dishonoured, three paths, and doing something travels you further down one. Doing one of the other brings a shortcut to that one. See? We do what the outside wants, they will accept us eventually. Not my rules though, just how it works.
I'm so jealous of all the meet ups, I either need to have my own soon or I'm gonna have drive to participate in one!
ReplyDeleteI expect nothing less from the 610. lehigh valley always goes big. Man I miss my home town. Pittsburgh bronies unite we need to get a meet up organized. I'll be willing to help in any way I can
ReplyDeleteCommenting from Uni.
ReplyDelete@Leeds Meetup - this photo's going straight into my album! I'm on the left wearing the black hat and glasses, unfortunately my Soarin for Vengeance shirt was almost covered up. It was That cold.
It was a fantastic time and I'm glad to have the chance to meet everyone there and have fun. Now I had my first taste of a typical meetup, I wish all of you to have fun with yours as much as we did.
@Pirate Robot The conervsation may start with Pony talk but it often quickly devolves into other things as well, such as when I had a bit of a long conversation about making art that then moved back into making Pony art :p
ReplyDeleteIt flows back and forth I guess, but nowhere near awkward after you start getting to know your first other Brony IRL, as conversations just flow naturally like in non-pony conversations.
yay roundups
ReplyDeleteSo this one at Chelsea beach... Google maps is no help there. Got a melways reference to be around?
ReplyDeleteJeeze people, there's a difference between cosplayers and furries.
ReplyDeleteI'm indifferent to furries, having learned what the community is about vs how the community is portrayed, however I also feel furries and bronies shouldn't try to "merge" communities into eachother. As in, just because I'm a brony, doesn't mean I follow the furry fandom, and vice versa. The only thing that results from either group associating themselves with another are people offended on both sides. Furries that don't consider themselves bronies, and bronies that don't consider themselves furries.
And before somebody comes in and corrects me on the definition, I know what the definition of a furry is. I know per the actual definition, bronies are technically furries. However internet definitions typically find themselves to be the socially accepted definitions, the original meaning and intent lost, and per the socially accepted definition of a furry, I am not.
Note, this is not a hostile post in any way.
You're kidding, right? I was in Leeds on the 28th and I COMPLETELY MISSED THE MEETUP!
ReplyDeleteI am SO sad right now. :(
I think that karaoke video is more of a pmv than an actual tool for singing along. The subtitling is pretty bad:
ReplyDelete[+] Mistakes: nonpareil is one word, the lyrics in the description are correct. Also pricky is used instead of picky.
[+] Too fast to read.
[+] Funny images are used instead of actual words.
It is actually really funny, the cider counter reminds me of DBZA, it isn't a good karaoke video, though.
Since when HAVENT meetups dominated this section, at least lately.
ReplyDeleteSeems like barely anything I ever care for shows up lately.
I'm on a boat!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a boat!
Look at me I'm on a motherbuckin' boat!
I'm riding on a dolphin, doing flips and shit
ReplyDeleteThis dolphin's splashing, getting everybody all wet
But this ain't Seaworld, this is real as it gets
I'm on a boat, motherfucker, don't you ever forget
Yay, I needed that lyrics vid!
ReplyDeletePlus it taught me a new word. Non Pareil. "Peerless, without equal."
@Pirate Robot
ReplyDeleteI went to the Leeds one kinda expecting that a little bit, but it turns out that people who like the show tend to be at least a little like-minded, and you find other things to talk about!
@ChaosDX1
ReplyDeleteIt taught you to spell it wrong too sadly, nonpareil is one word and doesn't need capitalising.
In the copypastad lyrics that are in the YT description, nonpareil is spelt correctly.
I liked the song's use of 'nonpareil', the kids would have to ask their parents what it meant, and they had Pinkie hang a lantern on it.
As this show is made primarily in Canada, we get French every now and then, which I am fine with. I only speak French with A-level proficiency, but that's usually enough for the small stuff.
I was at the Seattle meetup, we had up to about 30 people there and about a million ponies strewn about~
ReplyDelete@Pirate Robot
ReplyDeleteI thought the exact same thing, plus I thought I would be the only guy over 25 there.
Turned out, there were a handful of us older guys.
I thought I was gonna be there for about 45 minutes, take a pic, and leave, but I ended up hanging out in a coffee shop for 4 HOURS with a group of random people I'd never even met, and it was awesome.
Moral of the story: give it a shot, you never know who you might meet (and don't be afraid to elbow your way into a few conversations!).
yay for Ohayocon! There were soooo many ponehs. :D
ReplyDeleteI was the Fluttershy in the white socks in the cosplay picture. :3
The kareoke thing (or however you spell that)
ReplyDeleteSeriosuly can NO ONE EVER get that one line right?
It's "Grade A Top Notch 5 Star BLOW YOUR HORSESHOES OFF one of a kind cider!"
Everyone keeps saying "blow your horses up" or "blow your horse off". That simply doesn't make sense, and if you listen very closely, you can clearly hear the "sh" sound, that indicated Flim is just saying "horseshoes" very quickly.
I myself corrected this error on the MLP:FiM wiki, but alas, I can't do the same in all these incorrect youtube vids.
"Leeds Meetup."
ReplyDelete"Looks cold."
Two of the most redundant phrases you will ever hear within 10 paragraphs of each other.
Looked fun, though. Only reason I didn't go was because the meetup went over the episode.
Oh and also, I was once again unable to attend the Lehigh Valley meetup. Maybe next time...
ReplyDeleteYay, that's my Fluttershy plushy! ^_^
ReplyDeleteIt was made by a friend of mine. She doesn't have a site yet, but she is planning on making and selling plushies!
I loved that discord walking around with "THE GAME" on his ipad.
ReplyDeleteUmm seth you kinda spelled Karaoke wrong
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't there ever a New Mexico meet-up. :'(
ReplyDeletelook closely at the snapshot of the flim flam song video. you can see 2 bon-bons almost next to each other
ReplyDelete@Erik
ReplyDeleteMeh... Not really.
@GreatAndMightyChampion
Yes call the jets... and make sure they bring bombs.
@Maquabra
Aye... But furries have more cons than pros.
@DashAttack
There is nothing retarded in disliking something. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. And I dislike furries for my own reasons.
I'm so happy my Fluttershy plush made it on here!!!!
