I know some of you only read this part on the roundups, so I have a query for you all.
After the break, you will find a snow pony Twilight Sparkle. I live in Arizona, so we don't exactly have that seasons thing everyone else does. Is it too late in the year to run an event based around snow ponies? Would anyone want to go out and build some?
Anyway, have some news!
300 Drafriends References and Full Downloads!
A few days ago, a video showcasing all 300 drawfriends popped up. The guy that created it has compiled all of the files into downloadable character packs.
He did axe shipping and grimdark though, so sadly you will need to locate those elsewhere!
Check out the compilation here.
Snowpony Twilight Sparkle
I'm thinking of doing a snow pony event. Is it too late for most states to get snow? Living in Arizona, we don't really get to experience it much!
Russian Winter Wrap Up
Crazy other countries and their silly va's!
CAKE
Aside from the rock candy looking like absolute hell on the teeth, that might be really good!
BroNYCon Carpooling/Plane Group
Primarily for the midwest bronies out there, this is specifically a group that helps build something for those heading to New York. Check it out here!
Fluttershy Dragon Skyrim Mod
Oh god why is her mouth open what is going on here I am going to hide now.

Hahahaha I used the Fluttershy Skyrim mod and had to delete it because I couldn't handle killing her. :(
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm awake for this again..
ReplyDeleteFor the snow pony thing, not yoo sure about it, but I think it should be good! I live in Canada, so here, we have plenty of snow for at least 2 months still :p
ReplyDeleteNo, Jan-Feb tends to be prime snow season for most northern states. Add the fact that for most of the US Nov-early Jan was very snow deprived compared to the norm(exception: Alaska which got dumped on in copious quantities).
ReplyDeleteDrawfriend compilation would be awesome if I had not already looked through them all and gotten what I wanted already.
ReplyDeleteIt JUST started snowing in my part of Washington, but that's pretty rare this late in winter.
ReplyDeleteso maybe worth it, maybe not?
Not sure.
I'm in California. We have two seasons: rainy and sunny. And this year we don't seem to be getting any rain...
ReplyDeleteDrafriends... Go to bed Seth
ReplyDeleteAs far as snow goes... looks like I would never be able to participate in my part of California. :(
ReplyDeleteIt just snowed here in Oregon so I'd say it's a good time.
ReplyDeleteI live in Florida. No snow. So a snow pony event would make me sad for my inability to participate. xD
ReplyDeleteOh hell, I'm sad about living in Florida to start with. I hate it here. Buck my life.
That Skyrim mod is disturbing, just like that macho man dragon. That snowpony of Twilight is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWinter finally hit in Alberta, only a good three months late, and there still isn't enough snow to make snowponies.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to hear back from the dragon mod creator to get the go ahead to add in more sounds, basically make a pony version of this mod.

Yay! Early roundup! Snow ponies...hmmm. If snow ever comes to New York, I'm up for it. Assuming I'm not too tired after pushing a snow blower for four hours straight. If I understood Russian, I'd put in my say about their 'Winter Wrap Up.' But as it stands, all I know is that they're singing. The mane 6's reactions to SOPA's destruction is pretty funny. Though I could have predicted Twi's reaction, AJ's was a little unexpected; probably thrilled beyond words. And a Spanish Steam group? Spanish? Check. Steam? Wait, I'm not on Steam...yet.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for somebody to put Russian hats in all the ponies in the Russian dub of Winter Wrap Up.
ReplyDeleteBecause.
Sethisto asks whether mid-January during a La Niña year is too late for snow ponies.
ReplyDeleteDohohoho! Not if you live in the Northwest US or Western Canada. We're gonna have snow up to our ears until April or May.
We haven't had any snow up here in New York all winter(excluding some random dustings).
ReplyDeleteIt's just 15:47 here :P
ReplyDeletePeople need to also remember that SOPA's sister bill, PIPA, is still being scheduled for a hearing January 24th and that bill too allows for DNS blocking.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm sorry fans from Russia, no offense to y'all but that Russian dub was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite roundups ever
ReplyDeleteIt has never snowed on me before. In my entire life. Just saying.
So.......many..............funny..............things.............
I'm pretty sure SOPA hasn't been dropped; only suspended. They still want to pass most of it. Also, PIPA is still alive. (Info)
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, it's a good time for snow ponies. It's the middle of summer in the southern hemisphere :).
I don't think a snow mare event would do very well considering how little snow there seems to be anywhere this winter. Might want something more open to a wide range of people.
ReplyDeleteHow about a Valentine event? It's early enough, and we could make up our own pony Valentines to share with everypony.
Russian WWU: One of the better non-English ones, only have issue with the Fluttershy singing voice. Other 5 sound great.
ReplyDeleteRe: SOPA being killed: IT'S NOT OVER YET. It's a win, but we can't turn our backs on the thing until it's gone. FOREVER.
@Dubs Rewatcher Are you talking about upstate New York? 'Cause down here in the city, the most we've seen was that weird snowfall back in Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWOOT! SOPA is gone. Thank you Obama, I am sorry I ever doubted you....regarding SOPA. You're a'ight though. Personally I think Obama deserves some internets for that one.
ReplyDeletei like the russian Rarity...do NOT like the russian Fluttershy
ReplyDeleteI have an ice rink in my backyard, and the weather app on my phone tells me that it is to drop 8 inches of snow tomorrow. Snow ponies are definitely still in. it is minus 20C here in Northern Ontario.
ReplyDeleteThere is still a good 2 months for decent snow... Although snow has been rather scarce this year We normally have snow where I live all winter, but this year it has only snowed once, and that was just a light dusting.
ReplyDeleteSOPA isn't dead yet. It's just been delayed from reaching the house floor. More importantly it's sister bill "Protect IP ACT (PIPA)" is still on it's way to the Senate floor. We need to keep up the pressure. For all of you U.S Citizens opencongress.org makes it easy to contact your representatives to tell them how bad an idea the two bills are.
ReplyDeleteHere are the links:
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h3261/show (SOPA)
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-s968/show (PIPA)
Who would want that Fluttershy mod? That would mean you'd have to kill Fluttershy.
ReplyDelete@Sigma
ReplyDeleteYes, the fight is far from over. PIPA is still moving and I have a sneaking suspicion that SOPA's implementation is going to try to sneak back into some new bill.
These bills were practically designed to be abused, so we shouldn't simply think they're not going to try to do something underhanded to get them passed.
Sorry if I'm ranting, but this whole ordeal has strongly shaken my faith in both big business and in government. I used to think "all corporations are evil" was just hipster rhetoric, but the evidence is sure piling up high lately...
I live in Alaska so the snow pony contest would be a go for at least 2 more months, granted it starts to warm up. -45 is not fun to do anything in.
ReplyDeletei would LOVE to see some snow ponys...sadly here in oregon the snow is rather limited
ReplyDeleteNew Hampshire has plenty of snow!
ReplyDeleteLoving the new banner.
ReplyDeleteTwilight: Hugs! Hugs for everypony!
My reaction to SOPA suspension was somewhere between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie (but with manly tears!) Also, why was AJ in favor of SOPA?
there's at least a month or so for snow ponies in TN. but when it snows, its barely an inch. and its good to see they've stopped SOPA...for now :/
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD THAT SKYRIM MOD MADE ME SERIOUSLY CRY FROM LAUGHTER!
ReplyDeleteoh and that russian song was cool XD
who could kill fluttershy? :(
ReplyDeleteI live in Santa Fe where we don't get snow.... although... I could ascend one of the nearby mountains for the express purpose of building a snow-pony. I'M IN!
ReplyDeleteAn event based around snow ponies? I dunno, it's been a really snowless winter so far it seems. At least here in Ohio. Couldn't participate even if I wanted to. lol Maybe there's snow in other Northern areas though. Think some might have snow.
ReplyDeleteDang, all the pictures from all 300 Drawfriends? Well, now I feel shitty about saving them all individually. lol But that's a great idea for anyone else who hasn't been saving them but wants a nice collection going.
Back on the snow ponies, that is a really nice Twilight snowpony. I guess there must be snow somewhere right now. lol
Hehe, more foreign pony songs. I can't honestly say I speak Russian. And no, Google translator and Babelfish don't count. lol But I certainly have fun listening to these either way.
Another rock-candy cupcake? Mmmm. I'd eat it, it looks good. And so pretty.
That Skyrim mod with the open-mouth Fluttershy doesn't look too bad in the imaged you used in the post. Even kinda cute. However, then I looked at the other images of it and now I'm a little frightened as well. Dat elongated mouth.
SOPA was dropped? See, I told you guys. Obama had already even said a long time ago he wouldn't have said yes to it himself, if I remember correctly. Like I said before, things like that try and get passed every now and then. Another one will come along later on and that one will likely get denied too.
Those knitted ponies aren't really too badly priced if you take into account how high some get on Ebay. Especially Fluttershy and Dash.
Hasbro seems to be pretty cool with bronies remixing songs, drawing, writing, videos, and even sharing episodes on Youtube to an extent. They have to protect their copyright but otherwise they're true "bros" who realize all this excitement we generate ourselves in the end leads to loyal fans and more sales.
ReplyDeleteSo, what's their opinion on SOPA? Did they state they were for it? Did whatever larger company they are a part of say they're for it?
in response to SOPA being suspended.
ReplyDeleteSOPA is not dead yet, and it's sister bill "Protect IP Act (PIPA)" is still heading to the senate floor. Tell your Representatives this is a bad bill. opencongress.org makes it easy.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h3261/show (SOPA)
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-s968/show (PIPA)
Remember we still have to stop Protect IP Act - PIPA!!
ReplyDelete*watches ponies react to death of SOPA video* ......
ReplyDelete*imitates Twilight Sparkle* YESYESYESYESYESYES YEEEEEEES!!!!
@Stabi Yup, but it looks like with Obama refusing to support both and all the outrage both bills have received, I'd say it's just as likely that PIPA will suffer the same fate as SOPA. Like many Americans I'm sure, I know I'm not giving up my God-given right to freedom of speech without a fight. As Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"
ReplyDeleteSOPA is not dead yet an there still is PIPA.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take part in a snow pony event! :D Unfortunately, we don't have much snow here in Utah - which is strange, because... well, we're supposed to have the best snow on earth... :P Hopefully we'll get some in the next month or so.
ReplyDeleteWHAT?? I could never kill Fluttershy! D: That would be so sad...
Love the reactions video ^_^ That was about my reaction to the news too.
Great roundup tonight!!
@CityFlyer502 *gasp* Not on Steam? You should join up! You're missing out :)
ReplyDeleteMaking a snow pony would be fun; however, Spokane is having a minimal snow winter so far - not much is coming out of the sky, and it's doing good to linger 24 hours. Current status: snowless.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep it in mind in the event of decent snowfall, though.
How about some sand sculptures from those who aren't in snow-filled terrain?
snow is, so far, nonexistent in the part of the united states i live in. which is odd seeing as i live in Minnesota and it's mid January.
ReplyDeleteI live in England, if we get snow it is usually in the next month or so...
ReplyDeleteIf you made the deadline for the event some time early march it would give everyone time to enter. ('Cept those who live below the equator of course).
@TheeLight
ReplyDeleteI can also vouch for this, because I'm a Minnesota resident (though I'm currently living in Fargo, ND, for college reasons. Hey, speaking of which, are there any known bronies in Fargo?). What a weird winter. There won't be much to wrap up at this rate.
I'm going to ignore the other crappy freedom of speech killer still out there and talk about that delicious looking cupcake. From the moment I first saw Spike eat a jewel, my personal headcanon established that they must taste to him like fruit-flavored rock candy would taste to humans.
@Jake
ReplyDeleteOr Lifesavers hard candies.
There seems to be no better place for it so please let me do it here:
ReplyDeleteTHE NEW BANNER IS SIMPLY FANTASTIC! Seriously, I wouldn't even know where to start my flood of complementing its author. You made my morning much better, man (or woman)!
Well, I think it's to early to celebrate about SOPA, first of all, it's not dead yet, it's only "frozen" and Se. Reid is still trying to push PIPA into congress despite the amount of people opposing it, even PIPA co-sponsors are trying to delay the Jan 24 hearing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think its time for relax and celebrate yet, SOPA is way too draconian and people are giving it a lot of attention while they try to slip PIPA under the door, and yes, PIPA is no less draconian than SOPA, for those who live in the US, keep the pressure on your representatives.
@Sarah
ReplyDeleteIf we could find a way to replace dragons with Gilda instead, Skyrim's dragon problem would be solved in 10s flat!
I love Fluttershy too much to install that Skyrim mod - Whenever I saw her, I'd simply sit there, and let her kill me...
ReplyDeleteThat mod totally breaks the game, nobody can handle killing Fluttershy.
ReplyDeleteAlso the Russian VA's are surprisingly good. Better then the Dutch ones.... Damn my country >_<
Fluttershy in russian isn't so cute as it should be. Too tough. So, no. But seems ok to rest of 'em.
ReplyDelete"Is it too late in the year to run an event based around snow ponies?"
ReplyDelete^heck no; snow could happen for the next couple of months.
I know it didn't seem that way at bronycon because it was in the 40's; but that's just isolated/crazy New York climate: one day it'll be 50 degrees, the next it could be 10, and it only precipitates when the temperature is above freezing, but sometimes everything will get coated with ice because it rained, but froze when it hit the ground because the water was supercooled.
I imagine almost everywhere else has normal winters and could participate though
SOPA's dead?
ReplyDeleteguess I missed the universal sigh of relief that must have swept across the internet when that happened
SOPA maybe gone, but PIPA still lives.
ReplyDeleteI live in CA so though I'd love to see a snow pony event the closest I can get to snow is shaved ice.
ReplyDeleteWinter usually includes up to Feb/Mar so it's still possible for other areas.
How many times is mlpony.com going to get plugged here?
ReplyDeleteGo for the Snow Pony competition, in England, we've had snow on Easter in the middle of April once.
ReplyDeleteBAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Seth. I forgot that there are places where the temperature doesn't change drastically every five minutes.
I can tell you it's not going down in Michigan. Rain just kind of washed all our snow and ice away.
January and February are usually big snow months for the northeast. It's about this time that winter starts to drive us insane.
ReplyDeleteThis year is weird though - Rochester just got its first snow of any significance this weekend, and it's already starting to melt. If you do a snow event, you might want to have it last a while to give people maximum opportunity to participate.
Unfortunately for snow ponies, this has been a mild winter because of the jet stream keeping all of the cold air up in Canada or something. Still, the next couple of months are usually the snowiest. The best bet might be to do a snow pony compilation once a month, or if you want to do an event, wait a bit longer and launch it after news of a blizzard hitting a significant part of the country.
ReplyDeleteWe had 4 inches of snow here in PA last week, but it's all gone as of today.
If we hold a snow pony competition, it would have to be over a couple weeks so that the probability that everyone can participate would be higher
ReplyDeleteFlutterDragon! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd I live in Florida where we also lack seasons.
The snow in my area just melted.
ReplyDeletei dont get any snow either :(
ReplyDeleteWell my new goal is to find the dubbed Russian version of MLP and rewatch it all.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about making a snowpony. Too bad there's no more snow where I am...
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Blaze52 I know, I know. From what I've been seeing here, I'm missing out gaming wise. I'm definitely up for trying some of what's been mentioned here. But then again, my idea of entertainment is more in line with Twilight's.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not too late. Snow starts melting mid march up here in canada
ReplyDeleteTotally not snowing here in Michigan. What we had all melted today and yesterday. So I can't do any snow ponies.
ReplyDeleteJelly of the person who managed. ;-;
Here in western Washington we've got actual storm and weather warnings because of all the snow; buses have been getting stuck despite the precautions they took after the same happened last year but worse, and the National Weather Service issued a recommendation that anyone traveling around here bring extra food, water, blankets, and a flashlight.
ReplyDeleteHere in the north-east of the UK, we got no snow at all over Christmas. But the last couple of days have been mighty cold and there's frost everywhere... I wouldn't be surprised to see some snow around the corner.
ReplyDeleteLivin' near Phoenix, Arizona. No snow here, or else I would have made a SnowPony :(
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteNope. They haven't completely killed it, the language of the bill could be minorly altered and reintroduced or could be added to another bill. To use a ridiculous cliché, we've won the battle, but not the war.
Well for this Canadian Brony there is still snow on the ground in April.
ReplyDeleteToo late for snow? It hasn't even snowed yet up in southern new england! It just snowed last night for the first time this winter, and we only got an inch :(
ReplyDelete@XyroTR1
ReplyDeleteHearing that SOPA is being stopped does warm my heart, but I have to wonder. What about the Protect IP Act? Will that not simply ride in the wake caused by SOPA?
Politics and I generally don't get along too well.
I want that cupcake
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of SOPA being shelved, but we should keep an eye on PIPA. However, I am pretty sure that it will be shelved too, or stopped during voting.
ReplyDeleteNow for ponies, that Snow Twilight looks huggable, and that shapphire cupcake makes me hungry!
For the northern hemisphere, the coldest (and usually snowiest) time of year is late January and most of February.
ReplyDeleteHere in North Carolina, we haven't had any frozen precipitation just yet, but I'm expecting a few inches of snow before spring — probably sometime next month.
Noooooo! Y U NO include merch pics again? That was AWESOME. What was it, roundup 214 or so? I know it's extra work, so I'll add that I totally appreciate that y'all do round-ups AT ALL. But merch pics freaking rock.
ReplyDeleteGood thing about SOPA, but PIPA is still as big a threat.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any snow to even make a single snowball with yet. It always melts before it hits the ground.
ReplyDeleteAnd I swear, the flamethrower has nothing to do with it.
I live in Wisconsin. It usually starts snowing in November, but we just had our first sticking snow where I am, so it's going to be snowing until...April. Guh.
ReplyDeleteStand back... FUS RO DAH!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was pretty happy when SOPA had lost, I know it's not gone forever, but for now we won!
ReplyDeleteI have enough Snow to make the mane 6 sitting on the front lawn, however, it is due to snow even more tonight, I'll make them tomorrow, I should by that time also have enough for Tia, Luna, and Spike
ReplyDelete>Install Skyrim Mod
ReplyDelete>Start game
>Never get any further than reaching Whiterun in the Mane Quest
wow scootaloo beanie at currently $200
ReplyDeletewhat are you a a beanie made out of crack???
Don't forget. We still have PIPA.
ReplyDeleteFCK YEA NO SOPA
ReplyDeleteI'M JUMPING AROUND LIKE TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Russian dub actually had good Russian in it!
ReplyDeleteAnother Wisconsinite here. Just got some of our first snow, but not much, and who knows how long it will last.
ReplyDeleteI say go for it, start the competition. You'll get a handful of entries no matter what (Alaskans, Canadians, and Russians could enter), but now would be the time to anounce it.
Just a sad little gryphon from Minnesota piping in that, as has been mentioned already, we have no Winter yet. Which is odd, since Winter is usually a six month event for us.
ReplyDelete/)^3^(\
It's not too late at all. In fact, now is the perfect time for snow sculptures.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's been a fairly snowless winter so far, but I think we'll manage. ;)
