Should I or should I not give pass this on to my little sister? Knowing here, she'd hurriedly write something on them and give one of these to every person she knows.
i know right? they use the same pics for everything im not one to give out valentines but if i wer id be all up on this b!%#* pinke pie style ...sorry, been watching epic pie and epic cupcake time
Looking at the "You are a sweetie pie!" card makes me want to put tape over the sentence, get out a permanent sharpie and write "Fuck you I can't eat all these apples!"
That is some VERY old Lauren Faust art they used on those cards. They still look nice, though. I know what I'm trolling all my pony-hating friends with this February. :)
Yeah, there's that glaring absence of Rarity from this set. Though I'm pretty sure some Rarity-centric Valentines are being drawn up as we speak...uh, post.
@Naly Yeah, I probably will. But knowing her, I'll probably find the whole stack on my desk, all of them addressed to me. No lie, I'm 18 years older than my sister, yet we get along as if we were the same age. Kind of why AJ and Apple Bloom remind me of the two of us...jeeze, getting off topic here.
@CityFlyer502 That's adorable, and kind of makes me jealous. I have two younger brothers, but they're both severely autistic so I can't really have a 'normal' relationship with either of them.
These are rather cute. Poor AJ is missing her hat, but that's to be expected. lol I keep forgetting Valentine's Day is coming up soon-ish. But it's just another day for me. :(
@Stray But surely you three must have your own kind of special bond despite the circumstances. Maybe the interaction isn't the same as with someone that isn't autistic, but I'm certain it's there in it's own unique way. I really can't speak much on the topic, though I do have a brother that's diabetic, so I'm always a little extra concerned about his well being. Don't worry, everyone. Before you guys start panicking, he's in perfect health. As for me, I'm cool with all the diabetes jokes thrown around here, so you guys carry on.
Wait... These are valentines day cards, right? I saw the Best Friends Forever one and I was like, "Friend Zone Twilight..." That'd be harsh to get on valentines day XD.
@Omar Maybe we've intimidate Hasbro to the point where they won't even try. Especially with all the stuff we put out, lots of which is oozing with awesomeness.
Yay one from my town Wichita, got to love it. Wish I knew the bronies here though. Only seen two an they at my school but I don't know them. But these I will have to go out an get this is cool
@CityFlyer502 To a extent. The older of the two is literally in his own little world. He doesn't speak or communicate at all, and often he does things for the apparent purpose of upsetting people -- based on the way he laughs when he does something he knows we don't like, anyway.
The younger is verbal but his conversations go in circles. He has certain rituals he has to complete to be happy. He has to be the one to call me for dinner, for instance. If I come without being called or someone else tells me, he gets upset. Occasionally he and I playfight, and his new ritual is asking me Applejack's name and whether I watch ponies every Saturday.
This led to a pretty amusing exchange this past Saturday while I was watching ponies.
Joey: What's your pony's name? Me: Which one? Joey: Applejack.
I laughed. He's asking me her name when he clearly knows it? Okay.
But beyond those little quirks it's hard to say I have much of a relationship with either of them, or if I do it comes and goes as quickly as their interest does.
@Stray Can't even start to think about how much patience that must take. Especially with people that have different methods of communicating, and family no less. I can be the most patient person in the world, especially with my family, but I definitely wouldn't be able to say how I'd react if I were in the same situation. But I know that in the end, my loyalty to my family wins out in the end and I'd able to take the situation head on. I really wish I could say something inspirational, but all I can offer is my well wishes to your family and that you all find the ability to keep going and deal with your unique needs.
i have seen these at my walmart (Knoxville, TN) but i have yet to see the blind bag ponies mentioned a few days ago :/. well...i could get these cards to give to....oh wait *forever alone*
@CityFlyer502 It does take patience, I suppose. I've just grown up with it, so it doesn't occur to me that it does. I'm accustomed to it.
It's kind of like having one year-old siblings in twelve and ten year old bodies. The mental capacity is about the same, or at least the outward display of it. God only knows what's going on under the hood.
The older is sometimes prone to violent tantrums. I worry that once he is older, my mother will be no match for him. Maybe I won't even be someday, and then what do we do? I cannot stay with her to restrain her child forever, either. To put it lightly, she and I do not see eye to eye, to such an extreme degree that I cannot even pretend the word 'loyalty' fits in the list of emotions I feel towards her. While I do not wish to leave her with a child I know she can't handle, I also cannot allow her to continue to affect me in the highly negative way she does for any longer than necessary.
Anyway, I should zip it now. I've definitely said too much, considering.
If I didn't hate Valentine's Day with the passion of one-thousand fiery suns, I would totally get some of these. Also, I boycotted Wal-Mart years ago. Maybe they'll show up at Target?
@Stray I don't think anyone's noticed. As for what you said, I'm really at a loss for words. Shame that you don't see eye to eye with your mother, on top of everything else going on with your siblings. The best I can say is to just stay strong and be confident that a solution will present itself. I may be in my 20's, but if there's anything I've learned in this short time is that everything happens for a reason and sooner or later everything falls into place. We may not see it in the moment, but something will happen that will let us see the whole picture and what needs to be done.
Dawww, i gotta head down to the local Walmart and grab one of these for my collection. and myabe check and see if the I-240 walmart has any blind bags (identification still works, i tried as the local smoke shop had a few, managed to get twi and RD) the walmart i work at doesnt carry em, though i have been nagging management to make an order for a few boxes (that i will buy discounted before anyone can get any MUAHAHAHA)
I'll be part of te forever alone crowd this Valentines as well (though more out of personal choice). These cards are pretty cool though, shame about there being no rarity one. She's the pony that has had the most romance in the program (no matter how badly it may have gone)
Why would they come in packs of 32? The only person that knows I even like the show is the GF so I guess she'd get a kick out of one but I could only think of half-a-dozen girls I'm close enough to that'd they'd find them humorous. They must have made these for hardcore dudes dripping with swagger. Also, for Christ's sake that Pinkie Pie vector isn't even in the show! They need new ones.
Sorry guys, not even ponies can ease my hatred of this foul holiday.
On the subject of the cards, shouldn't Celestia's message be along the lines of "My faithful student, something something something?"
Also: These cards are definitely Hasbro in full-little girl market mode. The little girls who make up the target audience likely aren't in love with the little things like we older fans are. This is my reasoning to why there isn't at least a variation of 20% cooler on one of them. As well as no fan favorite background ponies (you know you'd like a Derpy valentine with "You're my favorite muffin" inscribed on it).
@Jake Yep, that is pretty much right on. And with them coming in groups of 32, that is about the perfect amount for elementary school class sizes too.
@Stray While it is unfortunate that you and your mother don't see eye to eye, when you leave try not to burn the bridge. I have seen plenty of fighting between my parents and their siblings/my grandparents, and there have been times where that has affected my relationships with my aunts/uncles/grandparents.
It's hilarious that the show itself is, at its core, a half-hour commercial for pony merchandise.
And yet, the variety of that pony merch is so scarce that the fans swarm like locusts to every single new thing.
For a show like this, fans shouldn't HAVE to make custom plushies, and frankly I'm incredibly disappointed in the company for not doing more than they are, considering how much more money they could be making off this. It's more than a little lazy.
@AlexReffand To clarify, since that plushie remark seems wholly unrelated to this post, it's just an example that sprang to mind after seeing you guys get so worked up over these valentines.
Not that I'm criticizing the fanbase for it, or anything. I get worked up over odd things myself, and I totally get it.
Oh thx. Thx for rubbing that one in. As if the holiday wasn't painful enough for some of us...
*sigh* Look, im sorry, i don't mean to be irratable, but Valentine's day has never been a pleasant holiday for me. I fail to see the joy in celebrating a day where people who CAN find love in this world need to throw it in the faces of those of us who have more difficulty in that area.
Obviously i wish everyone out there who is in a relationship the best, but i just never found any sort of meaning in the day where my relationship status needs to be brought to attention.
I wish people would stop equating Valentine's Day with lustful romance. People who say "FOREVER ALONE" do you have no family, mothers, fathers, siblings, uncles, friends, co-workers, neighbors?
How great would it be, to buy a package or two of cheap Valentines, go to the nearest old folks' home and stuff one in every mail cubby.
These cards are the perfect opportunity to revisit the holiday when you were a child, before hormones, and everyone in the class got a valentine, because everyone was 'loved'.
Am I really the only brony with a pegasister girlfriend? That's way too upsetting. Here's hoping you guys find that special someone this year! *Brohoof*
I just bought some at the Rochester, MI Wal-mart on Adams. Even though I no can has boyfriend. Sadly, though, I have found no blind bag ponies in Oakland or Macomb county Wal-marts. (Of the local 4 I've been in at various times.)
So my girlfriend and I are totally getting these! Having a brony girlfriend is pretty awesome and I am sure you guys will find someone someday, just maybe not someone whose a fan of the show and that's fine. We are both voice actors in a few projects so that's how we meet and soon got together. She actually threw a pony themed birthday party at the end of last year and had her girlfriends cosplay as the five of the mane six(No Rarity ;_;) and I came as gummy so it was AWESOME! She was Rainbow Dash and we ran around parks, took photos and ate some sweets and watched cartoons then spent a great night together where we decided to start going out. We just had our first month together and I hope it keeps going strong. So keep your chins up, Valentines day may be quite commercialized, but in these stressful times its good to set aside a day to spend with family and loved ones. So spend the day well, because I know I will, take care guys and keep up the pony!

ReplyDeleteNow to give it to my girlfrie- FOREVER ALONE
sickkkk
ReplyDeleteShould I or should I not give pass this on to my little sister? Knowing here, she'd hurriedly write something on them and give one of these to every person she knows.
ReplyDeleteThey have got to get some new vectors. Kinda embarassing considering how prolific fan artists are at it.
ReplyDeleteI would buy these for my friends if it wasn't so awkward to give cards to guys... >.>
ReplyDeleteHaha these are adorable
ReplyDelete@Bombedrumbum: Couldn't have said it better myself. ^^;
ReplyDeleteNOW I want to get them for my Bowling group ^_^
ReplyDelete*Scratch the "give" in my first sentence. Too lazy to delete my post. LOL
ReplyDeleteWoo, Valentines cards, I should totally get so-FOREVER ALONE
ReplyDelete...Where's Rarity?
ReplyDeletewant so badly. too bad we only have a couple real life friends.
ReplyDeleteNo Rarity valentines? The hell?

They just don't seem to get new vectors do they..
ReplyDeleteSome are a bit cheesy, but aren't all valentines?
ReplyDeleteWait. Holy crud Valentine's Day is coming up!
I MUST HAVE!
ReplyDelete@CityFlyer502 Dude, yes. Do it. :P
ReplyDeleteLooking at the "You are a sweetie pie!" card makes me want to put tape over the sentence, get out a permanent sharpie and write "Fuck you I can't eat all these apples!"
ReplyDeleteThat is some VERY old Lauren Faust art they used on those cards. They still look nice, though. I know what I'm trolling all my pony-hating friends with this February. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat? No Rarity? Celestia without Luna?? No 'I make Valentines 20% cooler' from RD??? *sigh* These are so lame.
ReplyDeleteTaking a break from reading The Fault in Our Stars to say D'AAAW PONY VALENTINES DO WANT.
ReplyDeleteAlso, no Rarity? She's got to be the most romantically inclined of the bunch, and she doesn't get a place on the Valentines? lol.
They're in Logan, Utah too everypony! Bought some today! :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteYeah, there's that glaring absence of Rarity from this set. Though I'm pretty sure some Rarity-centric Valentines are being drawn up as we speak...uh, post.

Wow. How... Well, they could be worse. They're on par for what they are. It's not like the people that make these have watched the show.
ReplyDeleteNow, where's the fan-made set? Is there a collab yet?
...you couldn't have done us the favor of making the pictures the same direction? ;-;
ReplyDeleteHoly dodey! *Read with Sniper voice*
ReplyDeleteThese are rather cute. Poor AJ is missing her hat, but that's to be expected. lol I keep forgetting Valentine's Day is coming up soon-ish. But it's just another day for me. :(
ReplyDeleteIf I got the "You're Magical" one, I would be the happiest boy alive.
ReplyDeleteSeriously flashback to 1st Grade. oh god.
ReplyDelete@Stray But surely you three must have your own kind of special bond despite the circumstances. ReplyDeleteSeventh picture blank flank Twilight. Derp.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise pretty neat~
I want. ME GUSTA.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm so getting this for my girlfriend. I know she will lo-FOREVER ALONE
ReplyDeleteThose are actually... pretty damn adorable!
ReplyDelete"I'm totally getting some."
ReplyDeletePK, I thought you were against pony sex. I wouldn't "get some" if I were you. Rule 34 stuff is bad when applied to ponies.
:P
We seiously need new pony vectors and drawings for future cards or posters, ads tc.
ReplyDelete@zaptiftun Yes, where is she?
ReplyDelete*sigh* I need a girlfriend.....
ReplyDeleteLadies, y u no give nice guy a chance?
@Omar Maybe we've intimidate Hasbro to the point where they won't even try. Especially with all the stuff we put out, lots of which is oozing with awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteYay one from my town Wichita, got to love it. Wish I knew the bronies here though. Only seen two an they at my school but I don't know them. But these I will have to go out an get this is cool
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, these should seal the deal.
ReplyDeleteRarity is apparently too mature to be on Valentine's day cards.
ReplyDelete@brokenlogic
ReplyDeleteYou are entering a world of extreme awkwardness and frustration. Welcome to the Twilight Friend Zone.
@CityFlyer502
ReplyDeleteTo a extent. The older of the two is literally in his own little world. He doesn't speak or communicate at all, and often he does things for the apparent purpose of upsetting people -- based on the way he laughs when he does something he knows we don't like, anyway.

Feh, I'm too pretty to partake in this heretical and false holiday. I partake in the true holiday of February, Singles Awareness Day!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Twilight seems to have misplaced her cutie mark.
ReplyDeleteI went looking for some at my wal-Mary but Valentines day cards were gone. Or no ponies yet... Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteWould seem a bit awkward giving these out, but still.
ReplyDelete@Stray Can't even start to think about how much patience that must take. Especially with people that have different methods of communicating, and family no less. ReplyDeletesecond one is the best (32 valintimes) pimping aint easy
ReplyDelete99.9% sweet, ohYEAH
ReplyDeleteIs it my imagination or are a lot of us "forever alone?" Oh wait, I'm in that group too (family excluded) :(
ReplyDeleteWOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! i live in wichita kansas!!! im off to wally world XD
ReplyDelete99.9%?!?? Where did they pull that number from. Is 20 percent not acceptable anymore? P.s wut ?
ReplyDeleteWe are the .1%! ..... What to early?
ReplyDeleteNO RARITY?
ReplyDeleteI AM GREATLY DISAPPOINTED.
I will give this the girls I know that like MLP :)
ReplyDeleteSurprised not seeing 20% cooler line from Dash...
ReplyDelete@CityFlyer502

ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, forever alone and all that jazz.
ReplyDeleteI should get these for... myself
ReplyDelete*Forever alone*
Why don't we just say we're getting them for someone and save ourselves the forever alone portion? LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to get really sick of those old vectors. How much could it possibly cost to create new ones and get those into mass production?
ReplyDelete@TheKrystalFox
ReplyDeleteDon't you use your fancy mathematics ta muddy the issue! 99.9%, 20%, that's close enough... Ah mean, right?
@Stray I don't think anyone's noticed. As for what you said, I'm really at a loss for words. ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm going to Wichita! (Far from this opera forevermore. . .)
ReplyDelete99.9% sweet?
ReplyDeleteLulwut?
Why do so many of these Valentines greetings feel so friendzone-ish?
ReplyDeleteWe are the sweet %
ReplyDeleteI SO need those to give to my girlfriend :D
ReplyDeleteDawww, i gotta head down to the local Walmart and grab one of these for my collection. and myabe check and see if the I-240 walmart has any blind bags (identification still works, i tried as the local smoke shop had a few, managed to get twi and RD) the walmart i work at doesnt carry em, though i have been nagging management to make an order for a few boxes (that i will buy discounted before anyone can get any MUAHAHAHA)

What? No "20% Cooler" for Rainbow Dash?
ReplyDelete*Reads Jake's comment*
ReplyDeleteOh...
I will give one to my boyfrie...oh wait, he doesn't love me anymore.
ReplyDeleteMust have Applejack!
ReplyDelete@Jake Yep, that is pretty much right on. And with them coming in groups of 32, that is about the perfect amount for elementary school class sizes too.
ReplyDelete@Stray While it is unfortunate that you and your mother don't see eye to eye, when you leave try not to burn the bridge. Given the holiday, I'm surprised there is no Rarity in that set.
ReplyDeleteThese have been available for a couple of weeks here in Colorado. I picked up a box.
ReplyDeleteThey're really silly, but at least there are stickers!
I'd definitely buy these, if I ever find one of them. Damnit.
ReplyDeleteI don't need to buy these either, but for a different reason.
ReplyDeleteForeverMarried.jpg
;)
@OtterMatt
ReplyDeleteOh thx.

ReplyDeleteHow great would it be, to buy a package or two of cheap Valentines, go to the nearest old folks' home and stuff one in every mail cubby.
These cards are the perfect opportunity to revisit the holiday when you were a child, before hormones, and everyone in the class got a valentine, because everyone was 'loved'.
You are loved.
So... I'm not the only brony living in Wichita?!
ReplyDeleteCheesy.
ReplyDeleteBut pony!
We bought some for our daughter to give to her classmates!
ReplyDeleteAm I really the only brony with a pegasister girlfriend? That's way too upsetting. Here's hoping you guys find that special someone this year! *Brohoof*
ReplyDeletei haven't found these ones yet - but i found the pack of Glittery ones
ReplyDeleteApplejack: using mathematics to muddy the issue.
ReplyDelete99.9%? whats with the other .1%?
ReplyDelete#11 - Look! It even comes with a Friend Zone card!
ReplyDeleteIf that 99.9% sweet card was a 20% Rainbow Dash card Id LOSE MY MIND with glee!
No Rarity? What sort of heresy is this?
ReplyDeleteI just bought some at the Rochester, MI Wal-mart on Adams. Even though I no can has boyfriend. Sadly, though, I have found no blind bag ponies in Oakland or Macomb county Wal-marts. (Of the local 4 I've been in at various times.)
ReplyDeleteno rarity is pretty understandable considering her encounter with Prince BB
ReplyDelete@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS YOU SIR, THIS MADE MY DAY
@Jake: I am SO making that Derpy valentine now!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Rarity? Anyway, have a sparkly day, my new motto
ReplyDeleteHopefully they get to Houston I want to give one to.... Myself..... Because I love myself *good save*
ReplyDeleteYes yes and forever yes! <3
ReplyDeleteAwwwr, you forever alive ponies send me a note and I'll mail you all valentine cards. <3
Dumb autocorrect, forever alone I mean.
ReplyDelete(Although Also forever alive I hope)
Sadly, walmart.com has Spongebob Valentine's cards but not My Little Pony ones. Curiously they have a 110 minute MLP DVD for preorder however.
ReplyDelete@Destroyer
I'll be scanning all the northwest side Walmart's for them!
Gotta love Wichita.
ReplyDeleteSo my girlfriend and I are totally getting these! Having a brony girlfriend is pretty awesome and I am sure you guys will find someone someday, just maybe not someone whose a fan of the show and that's fine. ReplyDeleteHave a sparkly day!
ReplyDeleteI found mine at Kroger. They're the same except with GLITTER.
ReplyDelete
