It's vocal time! We have a really neat acoustic original from both Mandopony and Acoustic brony to start off, with a kick ass dubstep/instrumental song from Versilaryan, and a Weird Al parody if originals aren't your thing. Check them all out after the break!
1.) A Long Way from Equestria -- Original MLP music by MandoPony & AcousticBrony
2.) Vafrous Coyote - Stars
3.) Close But No Cigar (Weird Al Parody)

I can't help it... I hate it when anyone else but the actual ponies sing. I know I'm gonna get hate for it, I just like hearing them sing as opposed to.. well anyone else.

ReplyDeleteWow. #2 sounds pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually with @ChubbyKatze but the first song is worth a listen. It grew on me after a single watch and now it's on loop in my mind, forever.
ReplyDelete@BeatleBrony
ReplyDeleteNnnnope.
I actually like the Weird Al parody (redundant?).
ReplyDeleteGoshdarnit, ah well thought I would try.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoof, great songs! I've really gotten into listening to Mando/Acoustic Brony stuff and they are an awesome pair of bronies! Excellent job!
Also! #3 Is performed by Hergest Ridge of the BeatleBronies! And I have to say, he does an excellent job!
@ShadowFox04
ReplyDeleteIt's too sad for me personally, seems to be a trend right now. I mean slower songs. I haven't had coffee yet excuse me please lol
i want singing ponies or no singing at all no offence to you singers
ReplyDeleteHow did Trixie return from the ocean so quickly!?!?!?!? Maybe she really is great and powerful. Also, HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY EQD!
ReplyDeletejust noticed the banner.
ReplyDeleteyay, EQD 1 year. :D
I was wondering when the first one was going to show up. Bar none, it's one of the best songs I've ever heard, one that I really believe could go toe to toe with any major artist out there. The second one was pretty cool, and the third was fun to listen to.
ReplyDeleteLoved #2, that beat together with the melody line is absolutely sick. I could vibe this one all day.
ReplyDeleteThe third one's also a lot of fun. Anything Beatles related is going to be good, and I was raised on Weird Al parodies, so this is double-licious for me.
Happy happies EQD!
ReplyDelete1 year. Milliins of fans. So much is achieved. Now SOPA wants to take it all away. Something must be done. Viva la Internet!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer the pure acoustic demo version of #1
ReplyDelete#1
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. Just...holy crap. THIS is the standard I'm gonna hold my own music to from now on. If I had to describe every little thing I loved about this song, it would probably span about 3 comments. Very nicely done, Mando & AcousticBrony!
#2
Dubstep isn't really my thing normally, but this song started out pretty laid-back, and I like how it held that tone through most of it. I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but suffice it to say I was headbobbing through all of it. +1 thumb-up from me.
#3
If anyone told me this was a recording from Weird Al performing live, I would probably buy it. The lyrics cracked me up at several places, and the instrumentals I think are pretty well done. Sometimes I wish I could parody a Weird Al song (redundant? maybe) but then I remember that the only instruments I actually own are 2 guitars, and FruityLoops can only do so much.
Anyway, decent vocals + funny lyrics + great instrumentals + weird al = great parody!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to download #1... *woosh!*
#1. Wow. I almost never listen through original vocal pieces but this one sounds amazing.
ReplyDelete#1 - Awesome. Just awesome. :)
ReplyDelete#3 - The concept of a Weird Al parody has to be the most meta thing I've seen this week.
Every time I listen my way through one of these posts I'm amazed by the talent present among bronies
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first one. Plus I got hypnotized staring at Celestia's hair.
ReplyDeleteCan't normally shower enough praise on MandoPony's work. I was so pleased that he got a namecheck from Daniel Ingram at BronyCon.
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with the comments that say the Mando/Acoustic combination makes music that rivals pretty much anyone else. We still have a brand new joint release to look forward to at some point too!
#2 and #3 were good, but I don't think I'll end up listening to them again.
ReplyDelete#1 though... Saw it somewhere earlier and loved it instantly. I like these sort of slower songs, it has a nice melody and good lyrics and singing. I especially liked the chorus. :) Instant download.
MandoPony and AcousticBrony win the game.
ReplyDeleteThat 1st one!
ReplyDeleteLove Mando and Acousticbrony, two of my favourite brony musicians.
Oh and happy Birthday EQD!
MandoPony and AcousticBrony win the game.
ReplyDeleteMando is best pony.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time that song got featured :P I reckon it's one of the best, if not meaningful brony songs out there.
#1 was good.
ReplyDelete#2 Oh shit thats good. Much more laid back then alot of Dubstep tracks. Very cool and even soothing.
#3 Nothing wrong with it. But never been a weird Al fan so it did nothing for me here.
@Tyranoman
ReplyDeleteMan, I know. I already liked these guys enough doing stuff on their own. Now they get together and do something like this.
#1 is nothing short of a masterpiece. Beautiful. And I've said that Mando and Acoustic should get a record deal...
ReplyDeleteMando and Acoustic need to keep making collab tracks together. They're simply amazing. I immediately fell in love with both this and I'll fly higher by them. They're awesome musicians and definitely need to keep the tracks coming because I'm simply loving them
ReplyDelete@Flutteryay I couldn't agree more
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the fantastic comments, you guys -- I'm really glad you're loving the track as much as we do! I think I speak for myself, as well as Edd & Jimmy when I say: THANK YOU! :D
ReplyDeletehappy bday eqd
ReplyDelete@MandoPony don't thank us, thank you for creating this masterpiece and please keep going together, you guys are awesome
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't like #1 that much? The music is great and I LOVE the story behind the lyrics, but the vocals are so forced. It's like they're trying to cram words that don't belong into those melodies. =/
ReplyDelete#1 im usually not huge into the music part of the fandom seeing as i dont like dubstep but that was spectacular!
ReplyDeleteYou rock, woohoo ^_^
ReplyDelete#1 - so amazing it made me cry at the end
ReplyDelete#1 Wasn't a sorta unpolished version of this song posted a little while ago? Seems familiar. Anyway, I really love this song. Great singing as always, Mando. The only thing that seemed off about this song was how it sounded like the volume on it went down a couple times. But that could just be these crappy speakers I'm on right now.
ReplyDelete#2 This one was kinda interesting. It was a little slow and soft, yet it had parts that were dubstep. lol I like it. Cool tune.
#3 Haha, oh my goodness. A Close But No Cigar pony parody. No freaken way. What a great idea. And he pulled it off rather well too. I rather like this. Hilarious and sounds decent to boot. More Weird Al parodies! :D
1) Definitely top 5 favorite songs I've heard from the fandom. Maybe even top.
ReplyDelete2) Not into dubstep much, but it does what all good dubstep does (in my opinion anyway)- do more than just wubs. Nice mix of dubstep and other elements.
3) If I knew the original, I'd probably appreciate it more, but it is rather well done regardless.
@ChubbyKatze I used to be just like that. Then, once pony fan music completely replaced all that other garbage and it was the only thing on my player. I started to enjoy all varieties of fan music!
ReplyDelete#1 Beautiful. Just beautiful. I think I've got something in my eye...
ReplyDelete#2 Sweet use of vocals!
I love it when somepony sings a unique song. To me, all these remixes nonstop gets old after a while. I like it when there are things like this that mix it up.
ReplyDeleteLoved the demo of A Long way from Equestria and this is just more grand and beautiful. MandoPony and AcousticBrony did a wonderful job with this version.
ReplyDeleteDAT #1. Best vocalist I've heard to date in these pony musics. Composition and musical tracks are top notch as well. Def Dling this. Thanks Mando and AB.
ReplyDeleteVariety is songs, variety in voices. Miu's rendition of the NLR or the Want it Need it. So awesome~
ReplyDelete#3 was amusing, and the idea of parodying the master of parodies just made it even funnier.
ReplyDelete#1 and #2, though, had me raising a lighter in the air...they were just -gorgeous.-
