Piano player on #1 here! I'm glad everyone likes it! This is actually an improved version of the piano cover from a couple months ago. And by "improved," I mean "improvised again after a bit of practice and experimentation."
Now that I have a new mic, expect to hear a lot more from me in the future!
@thattagen So you're the one that brought us the first one. Without exaggerating, that's gotta be one of the best piano melodies I've ever heard. I'd give you a trophy, but those can't be sent via email yet. LOL. Anyway, great job and look forward to more.
I wonder if DrDissonance reads the comments here. I'd like to hear his thoughts on this post. It's not meant to be insultive.
#3 Sorry DrDissonance. These "Steampunk" songs just aren't connecting with me anymore (quotes on steampunk because there IS a name for the genre. I just can't seem to remember, but steampunk isn't it).
Art of the Industry. Wow! That was awesome! Just the whole feeling of it (and the picture by that one guy) was new and interesting. The song, picture, and Youtube comments even inspired me to write a short fiction in my head (which will never be published here). I may draw a comic for it once I get better.
Anyway, then came Find a Pet. That song was also good, but it just didn't have the same impact as Rarity is Industry. This song, well, just doesn't have that impact anymore. I want to say it's partly because you're using the same sound bites for this song as in Art of the Industry (ex. The steam whistle). I feel like I've heard it before.
Anyway, I hope I didn't piss anyone off with this post. I really like DrDissonance's music, and I'm subscribed to him on Youtube so I can hear more. I just hope this "steampunk" genre doesn't become stale. I do know, though, that even if the style becomes stale with me, there will always be new fans that will hear these songs fresh.
1.) Flutterwonder [Piano ver. 2] Good but not my favorite type of music 2.) Dubcakes Very nice combo although the actual dubstep need more pinky pie flavour 3.) At The Refinery loved the minor key version of this song. very creative i enjoyed the newish style

ReplyDelete#1 Awesome. All things Flutterwonder are usually a treat.
ReplyDelete#3 Steampunk Gala, huh? I prefer steampunk more as a visual style, not a musical one, but it's an interesting rendition.
#2 Ahahaha NOPE.avi Not even listening, I won't touch Cupcakes.
@TechnoTrot
ReplyDeletethat's a shame, because it's awesome
Flutterwonder just keeps getting better and better.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Derpy Hooves was officially named and given a voice today. Let our fandom rejoice.
Yay! Music!
ReplyDelete#1 Loved, loved, loved this track! Anything piano gets a win from me. Even more when it's anything Fluttershy.
#2 Don't worry guys. No murder to be found here. Just the in-show song set to some interesting music.
#3 Now this was a fun track. Clever steampunk take on 'At The Gala.' Definitely enjoyed it.
@nerothewizard And recover from our collective injuries. Don't know about you guys, but my jaw dropped out so quickly when Derpy spoke. Hurt :(
ReplyDeleteGuys the cupcakes song has nothing to do with the Fanfic, it's a remix of the song cupcakes. It's actually really good as far as dubstep is concerned.

I'm starting to like this steampunk stuff...
ReplyDeleteGood grief, I can't count how much stuff MLP has gotten me to like. First Beyond Her Tomb (I despise rap usually), now steampunk?
Roll with it, self. Roll with it.
