So much to post today! I can't keep up!
It looks like we have some Donkeys on the horizon, perhaps similiar to the one from Applebuck Season? We don't have a whole lot of fanon about these guys, so I'm really curious about what kind of roll they will play.
Thanks to XTUX345 for the screenshot!

ReplyDeletedonkeys suck anyway. Ponies are the best... and spike.
ReplyDeleteinb4 "ass" comment
ReplyDeleteDonkeys? huh, no mules?
ReplyDeleteWhat.
ReplyDeleteI dont want asses with my ponies.
Nice be at least getting more characters
ReplyDeletenow bring back Windigos, Dragons, Timber Wolves, Ursa Minors/Majors, Hydra, etc
Donkeys? Could make some interesting characters. Hillbillies? xD I can imagine that.
ReplyDeleteI have a donkey OC! ^^
ReplyDeleteYay! Sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy Little Ass
ReplyDeletesince no one else said it...DAT FUTURE ASS
ReplyDeleteHuh! Interesting...
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see what roles other races play in the show. I'll be looking forward to this!
the spider thing is the only thing thing on my mind now

ReplyDeleteRemember when Rarity said that mules were ugly, and how racist that seemed given that mules were actual sapient creatures in this world?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they're really going to address that issue...
This won't end well at all hahaha
ReplyDeleteThat was a mule in Applebuck Season. And if that's what mules look like in their world, I'd hate to see a full-on donkey.
ReplyDeleteCool i guess. Just wish people didn't almost immediately make flanks of themselves, what with the donkey jokes. O-0
ReplyDeleteCould this be a reference to the Flim Flam brothers?
ReplyDelete10 bits says the Flim Flam Brothers are donkeys.
ReplyDeleteI hope i doesn't mean what I'm thinking bec i live in the southern area of the US and it will give me a hard time watching the episode
ReplyDeleteDONKEY UPRISING AND CELESTIA PUTS IT DOWN WITH FORCE.
ReplyDeleteOr something with friendship being magic and what-not. That could work too.
I am interested in this though, I feel like the MLP world is pretty well fleshed-out, but as with the real world there's no such thing as too many characters.
lol this will be interesting :D
ReplyDeleteSorry, what's that about donkeys? I couldn't see anything in that post except the bit about freaking spiders crawling into my mouth.
ReplyDelete@Grez
ReplyDelete1 genuine jackalope says that it's my Aunt Agatha.
Hey, it's not that farfetched, she fooled her OWN HUSBAND into thinking she was a really, really fat donkey with that fur suit she wore at that last family reunion.
Dem asses. lol You guys get worked up and excited over such silly little things. :P
ReplyDeleteIf y'all had been watching the right artist, y'all would have known about this 5 months ago. ;)
ReplyDelete@Smashmatt202
Considering the circumstances, I always thought she just said that as part of her mind games against the Diamond Dogs.
Calling it- Flim Flam brothers are donkeys
ReplyDelete@karrotline
ReplyDeletebeing very arachniphobic... i feel the same way. 8I
Cool, first a Mule, then a Zebra.
ReplyDeleteNow a Donkey too? Awesome.
I doubt they will be pointing out the source of the Mule population though...
@chessie2003
ReplyDeleteI think you're right... but some guy called it before you. Look up.
So....what's Shrek and Fiona's reaction to THEIR donkey???
ReplyDeleteneeds more Griffins
ReplyDeleteAlso if the Flim flam bros. are donkeys this will only fuel the Applejack is xenophobic argument
i think yoda just spoke
ReplyDelete@chessie2003: Let us know if you were right when the 28th rolls around.
ReplyDeleteI believe it was a mule.
ReplyDeleteMore non-pony in my pony? Fuck.
ReplyDeleteThey'd better not be Mexican stereotypes.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone jump to the conclusion that theres going to be donkeys? I for one think that there's going to be an episode where they describe the folklore/origin of the cutie mark and why only ponies can have one.
ReplyDelete@RavensDagger Well, mules ARE a hybrid between horses and donkeys. Or they're just a different name for the same race.
ReplyDelete@Sebastian I'm betting $5 that they incorporate Hispanic culture in some way. It'd probably be the only way they could incorperate Spanish into the Pony World.
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, that guy's signature is completely false. Spiders like warm moist places, but like all arthropods run immediately if they sense breath. You know, because natural selection programmed them not to get eaten :>
ReplyDeleteThat... That was a mule.
ReplyDeleteKinda like zebras huh?
ReplyDeleteI'm betting that new princess is actually a donkey who made a wish or something.
ReplyDeleteBut I just wrote a story that explained why I don't think they can! D': damn you canon failure!
ReplyDeleteDonkey's in the future?! To celebrate, I'm makin' waffles :D
ReplyDeleteOh, a donkey episode?
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean we'll get to see a Donkey Kong?
*takes a barrel to the face*
Yay. I liked that mule, and I felt bad for the way they are looked down on by the ponies. I want to see some donkeys showing up again.
ReplyDeleteI still say The Last Roundup should be about all the sapient non-ponies launching a rebellion, demanding to stop being treated like livestock.
ReplyDeleteEquesrtia's America, so Donkeys are Canadians. :p
ReplyDelete@Crunch Nugget
...yeah, there was NOTHING that suggested that canon sheep aren't sapient beings being held against their will for slave labor.
Mules mean canon interspecies intercourse. They can't back out of that.
ReplyDeleteAlso:
In Green Isn't Your Color, Twilight made Fluttershy bray like a donkey during her magically ungraceful runway performance. That was the point the audience started booing her. That's got to be the equivalent of Michael Richards' racist rant.
Maybe Shrek from Donkey will come for a visit in The Last Roundup.
ReplyDeleteSo much to post today? that's what happens When you hit a giant milestone and bronies swarm your blog.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, Lauren Faust doesn't work with ponies anymore, so she doesn't know the future plans for the show. She also didn't say, that there WILL be donkeys, so don't get too excited. You could get disappointed.
ReplyDeleteThen again, Faust worked on both Season One and Two, so she can probably speak with authority on any future episodes in S2. I must say I am looking forward to an explanation for the random mule in Applejack's orchard.
ReplyDeleteThe mule was just a joke! If there was a humorous Neo reference, would you demand a confirmation if Equestria was a part of Matrix?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the mule was a nice gag, but if they decided to add donkeys and mules, it would certainly fit in the world of Equestria. I wouldn't ask for confirmation of a Neo reference, because the Maretrix doesn't fit as well into Equestria.
ReplyDelete@Nobody has ever
ReplyDeleteIt may have been for the joke, but the logic is still there. Why WOULD there be a mule working at Sweet Apple Acres?
Consider the Apples for a moment. A family of four ponies, two of whom are too old and too young to be of much help, living on and managing a hundred-acre apple farm. By themselves. While at the same time frequently leaving said farm to indulge in social activities and shenanigans around Ponyville. Oftentimes all at the same time.
There is no way in hell that could work...unless the Apples had some hired help.
Enter the mules and donkeys. Equestria's lower-class workers, they'd see working as its own reward, asking little more in return for their labors than enough to meet their basic needs. Thus, they make for cheap labor, and take care of the shitty jobs that somepony has to do to keep society afloat.
So why don't we see this fellow or any other donkeys and mules actively helping Applejack? For the same reason he takes no offense to Twi's comment; his employer is being a stubborn ass, and the irony is just as amusing to him as it is to us.
Donkeys.
ReplyDeleteConfirmed!
I didn't check the comments, but I bet I'm not the first one to say this.
@ JAGamma
ReplyDeleteNot sure if trolling...
Hey, does anyone know where on Mrs. Faust's deviantart page to post a question if I want a chance of having it answered? Or does it not matter where I post it and she'll just respond to any comment she thinks is worth her time?
ReplyDelete@MercwithaMouth69 Post it under the "Comments" section of her DeviantArt. There's a SLIM chance that she may respond, but that's the best there is.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the number of questions she gets, it would be impossible for her to answer every single one.
@Nobody has ever
ReplyDeleteNot trolling, because can't due to suck.
Donky's? well thay better be voiced by eddy merfy, or who ever voiced Donky in Shreak 1, 2, 3. that would be awesome
ReplyDeleteI would expect any and all manner of equines to be potential characters in the show. I mean, we already have Zecora, who's a Zebra.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not sure whether the gardener in The Best Night Ever was a donkey.
