I actually got this from a ton of people. It does an excellent job of portraying what pretty much all of us went through with this pony nonsense. We have seen a bunch of these videos in the past, but why not add another to the pile?!
Check it out after the break, or at their website here.

We'll see about this one. It's gotta be good.
ReplyDeleteThe escapist are gods.
ReplyDeletehooray for LRR
ReplyDeletewhat is this?
ReplyDeleteNOT FIRST
ReplyDeleteIt won't run on my iPod
ReplyDeleteI want a pony deck
ReplyDeleteHey, really funny video-- *violently convulses as a result of demonic possession*
ReplyDeleteThe internet is quickly succumbing to us... soon it will not be able to withstand this much love and tolerance, and the Herd will break free... Bronies will guide economics, media, political affairs...
WE ARE BRONIES.
AND WE ARE LEGION.
*/possession* Gasp... gasp... what?
LRR for best bronies.
ReplyDeleteWOW I JUST GOT CHROME AND THIS PLAYS REALLY WELL IN IT!
ReplyDeleteTo reiterate from LRR's Twitter: "For those wondering, Matt is a true brony. The rest of us didn't actually watch any MLP for this video. Sorry for shattering your reality."
ReplyDeleteAnd I still remember DisKroze from Desert Bus for Hope.
ReplyDeleteLOL Porn.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier to explain.
I was right. It was good.
ReplyDeleteCool I love the Escapist! That was where I originally heard about FIM. Also Zero Punctuation is the second best thing to ever happen to the internet. (ponies is of course #1 :) )
ReplyDeleteAnd I still remember DisKroze from Desert Bus for Hope.
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOLOL that was fun to watch
ReplyDeletethat was funny.
ReplyDeleteI only the know the escapist from Zero Punctuation.
ReplyDeleteI remember the letter Kroze had to do to Princess Celestia. Completely worth every bit I donated for that challenge.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome :D
ReplyDeleteThis was a wast of time
ReplyDeleteQuick! Somepony draw My Little Bears: Mauling is Magic!
ReplyDeleteHahaha okay that was entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThey got me at "FOR SCIENCE!"
ReplyDeleteGenius.
Well, looks like yet another group has been invaded.
ReplyDeleteThe video was well done, and rather fitting.
The conversation Matt had with Graham and Alex is familiar. Odd.
ReplyDeleteHehehe... That was pretty funny ^^
ReplyDeleteWaluigi likes this.
ReplyDelete"What are you watching?!"
ReplyDelete"Porn! Dirty, dirty porn."
"Again?"
Best lines ever.
I have been a huge fan of LRR for far too long now and I didn't think th4ey could become any more awesome in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteshows what i know.

ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that found this rather dull?
ReplyDeletelmao, sounds about right.
ReplyDelete"Pegasis" Hahaha... no. :| lol Yes, still dislike that word.
ReplyDelete"What're you guys watching?"
"Umm.. porn!" Yes, dirty filthy porn."
"Again, guys?!"
Lmao.
I'm not familiar with these guys, but they're kinda funny. I like'em.
Also, I'm throwing my hat into the ring for the idea of My Little Bear: Mauling is Magic. lol
I must build a Pony Deck now
ReplyDeletePshh, anyone who was there for Desert Bus where Matt was singing the songs and Kathleen said she was open to the idea of watching knew this was inevitable. Even if the meme of the week was PONY GLUE!, that's still enough pony to mean an infection had begun.
ReplyDeletePlus they're on the Escapist, where a ridiculously huge portion of the users love ponies as well as several editors, columnists and video producers like MovieBob.
Although if they really did get Graham that's a bit of a surprise considering the sheer look of frustrated "Get me the heck out of here" during Desert Bus.
Btw is this the pony art that actualy did kick off this whole thing you you can post it up with the video is you like http://twitpic.com/85phos/full
ReplyDelete"Are you watching My Little Pony?"
ReplyDelete"NO! We're watching porn. Dirty, filty, hardcore porn."
...
...
"Ooookay..."

ReplyDeleteMy Little Pony Deck
If there was a 'magic pony hour' I would so be there. Super funny vid!
ReplyDeleteThe internet wins again
ReplyDelete"For those wondering, Matt is a true brony. The rest of us didn't actually watch any MLP for this video. Sorry for shattering your reality."
ReplyDeleteSuuuuuuure they didn't.
There are no words....
ReplyDeleteOn how much this ROCKS!
We actually have a large pony group over on that website too! Just create an account, and head on over to the "chat" page! http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/MLP-Friendship-is-Magic
ReplyDeleteC'mon, we have over 1200 members already!
I do so very much love LRR, even if Matt is the only one in the herd. I did kinda feel sorry for them by the end of Desert Bus for all the ponyflooding in chat. Also Kroze's Fluttershy impression isn't nearly as good as he thinks it is, hehe.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, back on topic. I love this video, and could not stop laughing by the time it was over. It seems to be a pretty genuine portrayal of how the infection always starts, with plenty of LRR's trademark absurdism layered in on top of it.
And if you like sketch comedy, LRR is worth your attention even outside of ponydom. They do a ton of great stuff every week.
It's a little sad that only Matt is a true brony.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the others would try it, I'd imagine they'd love it.
Still, LRR can do so much better. Their other skits are so much better than this.
Projectile Barf!
ReplyDeleteAnd I lold at the cover up as Porn.
And the fact that the guy said "AGAIN!?" made it funnier.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMe:HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteMom:SHH!
Me:sorry...
Welcome to the herd guys.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my new favorite LRR vid. Conan's Witnesses is my second favorite. Kroze and Matt did a great job at keeping the bronies interested. Desert Bus was awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. I laughed so hard (especially at the end). I actually spit all of my monitor lol. Anyway, these guy's just gained a new fan!
ReplyDelete@Sethisto
ReplyDeletereference classico by Tenacious D for tune
Can't you see? He's the man. Let me hear you applaud.
He is more than a man. He's a shiny golden god.
Cause if you think it's time to post pony;
well you can see
that dear Sethy
will never cease till he's the ghost
that we love most.
I propose a toast!
Cause you can see,
that our Sethy
will post pony
for you and me.
Cause if you think it's time to if you think it's time to if you think it's time to post ponnnnyyyyy...
He. Is going. To stay awake all year. So we. Can view. The ponies we hold dear.
Reading and bucking drawing and bucking watching and bucking... (babbles incoherently until song's end.)
This is the first time I've ever rewritten a song's lyrics. Be gentle. Get some Celestia-damned sleep Seth.
LMAO. Okay, that was worth being distracted from my homework for.
ReplyDelete>Porn
ReplyDelete>easier to explain than watching ponies
Sounds familiar!
That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteGot home from buying myself a Pinkie Pie, saw this, day is complete :D
ReplyDeletefirst thing I saw somewhere else sooner than on EQD ... anyway they are right on
ReplyDeleteI died a little bit "in a good way"
ReplyDeleteCurses my iPod won't play it:(
ReplyDeleteNOT EVEN REMOTELY ANYWHERE NEAR THE VICINITY OF FIRST!!
ReplyDeleteOMG YES!!! I LOVE LRR!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was really, really accurate. (Of course, it's different if you're not famous, but it still works the same way. See cute ponies all over the place, become interested, watch an episode, watch all the videos, cover it up somehow or go mad converting everyone.)
ReplyDelete@bossfight1
ReplyDeleteYou should probably get that rasp in your throat checked out.
And so thusly I began building my little pony deck. Shame there are no unicorns.
ReplyDeleteI met Matt back at PAX Prime and discovered he was a brony when he shouted at me that Rainbow Dash was best pony, when Fluttershy is clearly best pony, as I was wearing a Fluttershy t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteThe debate over best pony ended divided, but I won the swag contest with my hat covered in pins, Fluttershy necklace, and Fluttershy t-shirt.
All you have to do is watch one episode, then it becomes a drug....
ReplyDeleteNever heard of these guys until now. That is truly a shame, because they are funny as all hell.
ReplyDeletePonies! FOR SCIENCE!
ReplyDeleteLol hahaha is like when your mom enters the room and you're watching MLP and she asks what are you watching, and you go PORN. TOTALLY PORN.
ReplyDeletehaaaaaa im not funny
This was awesomer than I thought it'd be. Good job LRR!
ReplyDelete@White Ink
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is accurate. IMO the part w/ the pony thread on their website was the best: they present it as an exaggeration, really it's entirely foreseeable.
And, if there wasn't actually a pony thread on the Escapist, there definitely is one now; I'm definately going to try and find it.
Hahaa, nice
ReplyDeleteI would watch My Little Bear: Mauling is Magic.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that was hilarious!
That was heart warming.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteI went.
I searched.
SO MANY PONY THREADS!
This was great. Even if only one of them is a real brony the infection is spreading. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. The Herd will assimilate all.
ReplyDelete...I want to see My Little Bear: Mauling is Magic, too.
ReplyDeleteHarry will be the carry-over from FiM.
LETS GO GET MORE FAMOUS PEOPLE TO BECOME BRONIES!
ReplyDeleteI am surprisingly okay with
ReplyDelete"My little Bears, Mauling is Magic"
That is pretty much how i became a brony.
ReplyDeleteMy dad; Hey son what are ya lookin at?
ReplyDeleteMe: um nothing just porn...
My dad; oh continue on then....
That was great. The LRR crew is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty funny. Reminds me of how I became a brony.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you looking for the Loading Ready Ponies thread mentioned in the video, it's right there. In that link just before this text. If you're still reading this, you've gone too far.
ReplyDeletecommodoreHustle is a sub-series in LoadingReadyRun, a "slice of life" series about the group. It's loosely based on real life, but there's a lot of stuff made up too.
So don't count on the LRR guys being bronies now - they've flatly denied it on Twitter for one thing. Or maybe that was just to get Matt off their case...? Anyway, who cares. They did a funny video mentioning My Little Pony. Woo.
The typical story of the MLPFiM fan.
ReplyDeleteIf all but Matt WERE fans. XD
I've been a fan of LRR for a couple of years now, and while I'm glad that they've done this vid, I can't help but be a little worried that it was only in the hopes of getting the more...ardent...of the brony community to shut up and stop bothering them about it.
ReplyDeleteThis was pretty cool, not to mention funny. All I know is that for me it started with Lesson Zero, then Luna Eclipsed then...everything else is a blur. And here I am.
ReplyDeleteYellow is the complement of purple, not red.
ReplyDeleteSomehow Loading Ready Run just got 20% more awesome. I didn't know they made that much awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlright then! We've got MovieBob, we've got the LRR crew...
ReplyDeleteHow long until we get Yahtzee? :D
lol closet Bronies XP
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteoh this wont end well XD;;; Tho he only dose games. Don't know about Shows
When saying that your watching porn is better than saying your watching ponies...
ReplyDelete*facehoof*
Oh Luna my insides, I laugh so hard, I think I may have ruptured something. Still, this vid was totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bit of pony-related nonsense from Desert Bus. This is why you don't spam people with poni related whatevers.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ktW3N4z5z4&t=12m55s
BAHAHAHAHAHA!!
ReplyDeleteTis' be funny.
Yay the escapist! I visit that site every day.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, I don't watch Loading Ready Run.
FUS ROH *Hurk*
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteOh man if we can get Yahtzee to review MLP:FiM, that would be so freaking awesome. Hopefully people won't take his criticism too seriously.
Eyup. My Little Bears: Mauling Is magic... So going to watch the naked ladies on the side.
ReplyDeleteI know another commenter already touched on this, but a DisKroze cameo could have been fun. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteHeh, "Mauling is Magic."
@Firestorm "Danger" Dash I disliked not having a profile picture so that account is now been "kicked".
ReplyDeleteMy Little Bear: Mauling is Magic already exists. It's called Carebears. They have cutie marks and everything.
ReplyDeleteAwwww sweet, the Commodore loving entertainers now understand (or their characters do anyway) about the magic of ponies. Great success!
ReplyDeleteThat Graham guy reminds me so much of Jamie from Mythbusters.
ReplyDelete@GuerreroPerdido Seeing how he makes everything sound awful, that shouldn't be a problem!
@MadDoctorD
ReplyDeletewell, there's the prized unicorn (I assume you're talking about magic). I think it's from M11? Or from somewhere in the Zendikar block.
wow I wish I had come up with an excuse like I am watching porn when someone asked me what I am doing :p.
ReplyDeletePorn.
ReplyDeleteThe bronies' scapegoat
*sigh* This. Was. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteAnd much needed. I had the WORST day at work today, and then I saw this. :)
Once again, the crew of LLR have delighted me with their hilarious antics. Thanks guys. :)
That Pretty Funny
ReplyDeletepraised be to oden! i love loading ready run!
ReplyDeleteYup. Pretty much exactly how it happened. But with a bit less corn.
ReplyDeleteMLP and Magic the Gathering... I like these guys already
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal JanitorWhen did we get MovieBob?
ReplyDeleteI actually feel pretty proud to have searched and checked the show out of curiosity in a matter of minutes after finding out about it despite all my negative first thoughts. I replied kinda mockingly to one or two comments before checking it out so I was a hater yes but that only lasted about 5 minutes ^^
ReplyDeleteLRR is always fantastic
ReplyDeleteI like Unskippable, but I just don't think LRR is funny. Still cool to see an entire episode dedicated to ponies.
ReplyDeleteAlso, MovieBob is a brony? When did that happen?
I know I couldn't have been the only one zeroing in on that card binder at the beginning of the video. Man I miss Magic. Hadn't played since the first Alara block. Fun Times™.
ReplyDelete@FreezingShock
ReplyDelete@Flizzick
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/the-big-picture/4969-Words-for-Nerds
He mentions MLP:FIM about halfway through. TBH when I saw this I just assumed he followed MLP just like he followed the rest of geek culture, and whether or not he was a brony himself was indeterminate. Perhaps he said so on twitter at some point or something. I wouldn't know about that.
lol. I don't care if it's faked or they were just going with the flow.
ReplyDeleteIt's still an awesome nod to the fandom and that's very nice of them.
"what are you guy watching?"
ReplyDelete"PORN!"
LOL xD Did the same when my brother walked in on me during 'The return of harmony' xD
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSounds about right!
ReplyDelete@Sanguine Ultimatum lolwhat? do you know how many shows were cancelled or thrown out of there? Extra creditz is the most prominent example.
ReplyDeleteThat pretty accurately sums up my progression as a brony.
ReplyDeleteHaha, 'cause porn is easier to explain, right? XD
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteThat's because Apple says "no" to Flash, so you will never be able to see non-HTML 5 videos on your iPad.
WOW. LOL These escapists are rather entertaining, I spotted a little bit of hamming but I would continue to watch more stuff from them. If I laugh more than two separate times in a single vid, I will watch it again.
ReplyDelete@Dhatz
ReplyDeleteNot quite, Extra Credits walked out. First they weren't being paid at all (despite a payment contract already being set up), but as cool guys they were sympathetic and didn't get too worked up about it. Then after asking the fans for some financial help via a rockethub donation drive after Alison, the artist, broke her arm, they received an overwhelming response... and the Escapist demanded a cut of the money. At that point, the team decided not to produce any more videos for the Escapist. Since they haven't been paid, they still retain the rights to all of their videos, minus the escapist logo intro.
Extra Credits is still going strong, and can now be found updating every Wednesday on Penny Arcade TV.
What are you watching?
ReplyDeletePorn...
... Dat Plot.
"Someone sent me this picture, of me, as a pony... you think it might be a threat?"
ReplyDeleteI lol'd so hard.
Dang! Somepony beat me again!?
ReplyDeleteWhat are you watching?
ReplyDelete"NOTHING!"
"Noooothing..."
"Porn"
"Oh yeah. porn"
"lots of porn"
"(Simultanious) PORN."
Hmm. I find it entertaining that their motivation to watch and mine were the same. (FOR SCIENCE)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLet's try that again..
ReplyDeleteJuuuust so we're clear on this, you guys know that you'd have a better chance appealing to those who *don't* like it by not force-feeding it down their throats, right?
I still firmly believe that shows like Dexter's Laboratory and even the Powerpuff Girls are better than MLP. MLP has *always* been a product for young girls. It kinda seems insulting that the "bronies" suddenly come in and take that spotlight away, making it all about themselves. Real classy.
As for my own personal view, I watched *one* episode. The first one. I can't say I like a single character on the show, seems far too.. Childish. But that's just me. One good thing about it is that Tara Strong is in it. And Spike's kind of cool. But he's a damn *dragon*, not a *pony*.
Anyway, to put it simply, cool off on the cramming your rabid fandom down other people's throats and you're much more likely to have people's respect. Until then, you're only asking for it. At least *try* it? I'[m certainly not going to say "Stop being bronies, it's silly". Fans will be fans, but it helps if you guys don't make demands as well.
@MattAn24
ReplyDeleteAlright, I'm sorry if the bronies you encountered were of the obnoxious sort. If you don't like the show, then you don't like it, whatever man :D
As for what you were trying to convey in the second paragraph...I think you were trying to say MLP was stealing the thunder of supposedly better shows? Again, that's a matter of opinion. The first two episodes differ greatly in tone from the rest of the show, which is more slice-of-life based. These episodes are insanely well animated, relatively entertaining, and I enjoy watching them. I like Dexter's and PPG too, but they don't pull me in like MLP does :D
