• Gendid's Community Spotlight #11: Garrett Gilchrist

It's that time of the week once again! One lucky artist/composer/BADASS grabs a spotlight for all to drool over.

I actually got to know Garrett at the last BroNYCon.  He has brought us some really awesome art, as well as the massive coloring/activity book from a while back.

    3. You have not lived until you've heard his Spiderses dramatic reading.

    4. 50's style Twilight is completely unacceptable for me :/

    5. Trixie wants her magic back, seth. good interview too :D

    6. If Garrett posts artwork like the one shown above, Hasbro can make an episode about Twilight as well as other ponies looking like that in style. But Rarity has to be given credit since she is a dress designer. ^_^

    7. That was an excellently executed interview. I actually found myself enjoying all the details and advice given during it as well as agreeing with quite a bit of it.

      Great work!

    8. It's an honor to be featured in this kinda thing, and many thanks to Gendid for letting me ramble on as long as I did. Long interview is long. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at BroNYCon January! September Con was pretty amazing and I'm sure this one will outdo it by quite a bit! [Brohoof to Seth too.]

    9. I normally don't have much time for these things, but I happened to skim through this one and that art is just amazing. I wish I could draw that well.

    13. Garrett Gilchrist: "It's a cynical time, where everything seems utterly corrupt and hopeless. A smart-shaming culture that doesn't respect knowledge or the past. [...] Funny as [Family Guy & American Dad!] are, they reflect a crass culture so saturated with pornography and violence that obscenity has no meaning."

This expresses perfectly why I so enjoy watching MLP:FiM, a show that is the antithesis of the cynicism and self-absorption that our pop culture is drowning in.

Thanks for a terrific interview, Gendid and Garrett!
