Aside from my accidental insulting of half the art world, the last "find the ponies" puzzle was pretty popular! A new one has popped up from Aeleos over on Deviant Art. This isn't your little sister's "Where's Waldo" book. Thirty-one candy colored equines are hidden all over this time around, and when I say hidden, I mean near invisible.

Twilight Sparkle is cowering underneath someone in the lower left corner area, and somepony, I'm not sure who, is halfway hidden behind some scaffolding near the spotlights on the left hand border around 1/2 to 2/3s up, and Spike, with his wonderful mustache, is just a little bit up from that one and a slight distance to the right too.

I opened the image in paint.net and imported the original artwork as a difference layer and manipulated until everything that was common between the images was black. what remains is the differences though they do get color-shifted based on what the original image was.

ReplyDeleteI was rather proud of Soarin, Discord, and some others. But I ask you (not condescendingly) how would you hide them without fading them? It's not like Where's Waldo, where the whole image consists of small blobs of color. The ponies really stand out.
I am hoping I do not have to justify to anyone in my present company why I am looking very closely at zoomed in buttcheeks and tiddly bits.

I appreciate the amount of work Aeleos puts into these, but I gave up on this one after Rarity, Gilda, and Cherilee. These are not fun; it would be a lot more interesting if the ponies had some sort of context to where they were hidden. The School of Athens was a little better.

3. Gilda - in a cloud, top-right area (below Big Mac)
4. Wet Mane Rarity - right above a blonde's head, below Gilda and to the left. The dude's golden key-shaped item is pointing at her.
5. Doctor Whooves - next to a man's blue shoe, south of Applebloom.
6. Celestia - Left of Jesus's knee; her head is in front of a guy's bum.
7. Cheerilee - on a person's head, NW of Celestia ("in the next crowd over.")
8. Spike, mustachio'd - between two peoples' legs, the one to the right of Spike a blue robe (this leg is to the left of a green robe), lower-left area.
9. Twilight, reading a book (big surprise) - beneath a man who is reclining (lower-left area, almost due south of Spike).
10. Soarin' - in the painting to the far left, in this painting's upper-right corner.
11. Fancy Pants - north of Soarin, behind a frame that sits on the painting's frame.
11. Blueblood - in a woman's hand (you can barely see anything besides his blue vest; the woman herself has a yellow gown covering her from the waist down and an odd cloth headcover; she's looking to the right of our perspective), Due east of Cheerilee, and a good distance north of Fancy Pants.
