Your mind-bucked student, Twilight Sparkle" Or at least, that's what I'll imagine that last part says. #2 was good, more Pinkie breaking reality/the fourth wall is always a good thing.
I sorta assumed Ghastly Gorge was shaped like a U, and that the rest of the cast were able to walk to the finish line because of that... but now that the comic points that out... it really makes you wonder.
1st: I wonder if this was before Scratch and Tavi started to date =/ 2nd: I remember that jumping across pages in a comic book from another cartoon, can't remember witch though.
#1: I'm not normally one for shipping, but that was a perfectly-executed gag. I just hope the Scratchtavia fans can accept it as just another fan's perspective or, failing that, as a cute gag.
I can't even begin to describe how hilarious both of these comics were. Between the "show" and Pinkie's blatant defiance of the laws of physics, this was just about the funniest thing ever.
Heh... I enjoyed 'em both. People can ship the hell out of background characters in any combination without making me blink. I also have to admit, I hadn't given any thought to the rest of the cast somehow waiting at the finish line... A "U" shaped canyon does make the most sense though.
2: IMHC, the racetrack/gorge was a crescent or rough circle, so that they could get there before dash and the other pets. Still, for the sake of the joke, I'll imagine it's linear.
pretty sure rule 34 can hit any pairing just as hard.
besides which, having another ship hardly means the overthrow of vinylxtavi. The same author also posted tavixblues earlier, meaning that this is hardly the first to deviate. I mean, heck, we've seen Bonbon with alternate ships before, and that hardly upset the lyraxbonbon shipping.
Personally, I'll just go with what was mentioned about this possibly being a prior relationship. Then I can enjoy the awesome comic without any conflicts with my favorite ship
#1 Oh goodness, I think the green pony is a Kandi Raver. lol I'm not sure how I feel about this shipping. With some of the comments I sometimes see regarding it, I almost think it's supported a lot by the homophobes of the community. But maybe I'm over-thinking it. It's a silly comic.
#2 Haha! The letter to Celestia... "Dear Princess Celestia: I... I don't even." Hilarious.
His name is Rising Star. He owns a record company. He publicises and produces for Vinyl Scratch, and most other musical ponies. His special talent is in fact to be a talentfinder. He sees the potential in other ponies.
If he met the CMC, they'd have their cutie marks in 10 seconds flat.
If anyone says otherwise, I will buck them in the teeth.
@Octavia I don't think that's a very fair assumption, considering that 1) slash makes up 90% of MLP shipping, and 2) most antagonism between shippers has been from slash shippers directed at het shippers.
The real irony is that the Octavia and Vinyl Scratch ship started out as a joke that took on a life of it's own, and now some people treat both of them like they are part of a set and get mad whenever they aren't depicted as a couple. I am fine with people shipping whoever they want, as long as they don't get possessive about the characters (and sadly, that is a test that a lot of shippers fail miserably at, especially in this fandom).
Loved both of them... found #2's artwork to be especially awesome for some reason. Appeals to me more than most comics but not sure why? woohoo pinkie pie
you know, while it can be annoying, it really probably shouldn't be too surprising that people can lash out against unfavored shippings. I mean, it is easy to develop a kind of emotional attachment to characters, and when you feel like sets of characters go together, it feels in some ways like it is intruding on ones perception of how things should be.
Personally, I just wish that people would stop treating this like it is the only alternate shipping for Vinyl ever created. If you look through the fics or the drawfriends, there have been others, so there isn't any reason to get worked up over this one, either positively or negatively.
I can imagine the conversation after Pinkie's hop through the fourth walls. A scientific explanation on using magic to move a macroscopic body (a pony) from one place to another, versus ... um, whatever Pinkie does. I smell unicorn brains smoking.
On the whole shipping thing? Personally, I have certain favoured pairing, but as long as it's written well and makes sense in some way, that's fine. And yes, this includes the one fic that featured Twilight and Pinkie joining forces. And no, I'm not meaning just in the bedroom. Actually researching together.

ReplyDeleteOh well, screw logic, this is MLP.

Both of these comics were just spectacular and hilarious at the same time. God, I love this fandom.

ReplyDelete#2 Sanity? What sanity? I don't need this useless thing anymore!
ReplyDeleteI don't... I don't even...
ReplyDelete#1 Finally someone have broken that Scratch&Tavi rule. It means an end to all perverted fics! Yeah :P
ReplyDelete#1: Not a bad couple. and the name Neon Lights fits him pretty well.
ReplyDelete#2: Oh that Pinkie.
@Shantara I think all of us did away with some or all of our sanity once we got into the fandom.
ReplyDeleteThat first one was cute! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteShe would never betray tavi like that! Cute though
ReplyDeleteWhat episode was Neon Lights in and where was he, cause I don't remember him. The comic was hilarious regardless.

ReplyDelete1. Shipping
ReplyDelete2. Ahhh so that how they did that.
1: not blues

Twilight can teleport, though. Isn't that roughly the same thing? :P
ReplyDeleteSHIPPING YAY!

#1: Quite amusing. I laughed.
ReplyDelete#2 Pinkie being the same lovable, adorable Pinkie she always is. <3
When the fourth wall finally falls for good we will all find that the limits of space and time are mere illusion.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I thought we said he was Scratche's brother? Or was that another back ground pony? Either way, I don't think Octavia approves.
ReplyDeleteStill, tolerance all around.
who is this neon lights pony? where did he come from? what does he mean?

ReplyDelete#1: Love it. :D Better shipping than Octavia/Vinyl.
ReplyDelete#2: Just Pinkie Pie.

ReplyDeleteI love Pinkie being ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally approve of shipping, but comic #1 delivered. I definitely giggled like an idiot.
ReplyDeleteAh, more of that "MC W1sh" guy...

ReplyDeleteHe was in the background of Sweet and Elite when Rarity was singing.
The first comic was just too swee-eet.

1. Well, it's something different from the usual Vinyl/Octavia shipping.
ReplyDelete2. Pinkie leaps the forth wall yet again. I don't even indeed.
#1 Bahahaha! Well played, well played. Also HEY OH!
ReplyDelete#2 Clever, and a more appropriate use of "breaking the fourth wall".

ReplyDeleteHe was a background pony in "The Pony Everypony Should Know" song.
MC's rap. They don't mix music...
ReplyDelete@rtisch I've been to shows where the DJ had the title of MC.
ReplyDelete"Take two characters with around 15 seconds of air time between them and zero lines, then ship them. This fandom is insane. "
ReplyDeleteSo like allegrezza?
@Octavia
ReplyDeleteBesides, we all know homophobes only get their back up when it is 2 guys kissing. When 2 girls are kissing, it's HOT.
2. That was hilarious.
ReplyDeletethat pegasus in the tenth panel... cracks me up lol

Sleep on that, fellow readers.
I've forgotten how awesome pony comics were, thank you ED for those two pieces of art

ReplyDeleteSo have I... They are usually white (full disclosure, so am I), and don't really respect hip hop... at least the ones that I've met/ talked to.
no hate crimes against neon/scratch
