We've come so far and have done so much within one year. Imagine what we can do with this next one or the one after that. This community is so strong. We help those who fall down, and we keep pushing forward no matter what. We are a force of good to be recognized!
That lil' chat box part of the video really got to me, I have always been judged poorly from my love of musical theater, hate of popular things out there (few peeps like 80's indie music where I am) and my little eccentricities, but people understood my rather occasionally girly attitude in life (fuck every guy out there who doesn't think rings and jewelry can be cool) so yeah really bronies did help me realize I am not the only person who can appreciate the cute little things in life. This video really does carry a positive message, and got me to tear up a little bit :')
I'm going to comment for the first time because though I've always been afraid of making any type of contacts on the internet (or in real life even) and putting myself out there in any way, I figure if I can't feel safe with Bronies then there's no other community I could feel safe with.
I may as well start with the new year and see if I can make some real friends. If this is the year of friendship, I want to be part of it instead of just watching and wishing.
It's so very true. I'm new; I hadn't even watched an episode of the show until last November and I wouldn't have if I didn't buy a Princess Celestia toy on a whim after seeing that Thundercats toys cost just as much and were awful. That being said, every time I open up EquestriaDaily I am amazed. From the Humble Brony Bundle, to the Smile! album, the NYTimes article and this post not to mention all of the comics stories, songs and animation, I've never seen a community so determined to be positive, supportive, and productive.
As for myself, I'll be starting in a Master's degree in a few months, on developmental endocrinology, and I am terrified. Whenever I feel completely overwhelmed I, honestly, stop myself and ask what Twilight Sparkle would do and after the inevitable freak-out I go through the comics posts here and I get back to work. Just being here, even though I'm new and don't post much, really helps.
Fantastic Video. MLP changed so many people lives, and it made them happy. The community is amazing and awesome. I just love having somthing like MLP to be liked commonly all over the internet because its always interesting to talk about.
Really, an awesome video. This guy is right, let us continue to spread this show, but more importantly, let's continue to spread the message of love and tolerance!
it still amazes me how it just took off like this, never have i been so proud to call myself a brony. i cant wait for another year of new friends and adventures in this wonderful fandom *tear*
That's exactly it. We've created a new paradigm on the internet. We are not just a phenomenon.
It's not just about the show. It's about the contribution to our community and the interactions we share with each other.
It's true that we've changed the way the internet works. But we've also changed the way some societies look at us, not just as a community, but as individuals as well.
Seth... You showed me last Sunday that I DO have a place in the fandom. I don't need to make a huge name for myself to stand out amongst everypony else.
I just need to be a brony.
We have opened up a community for people to speak to others on the internet as friends despite not TRULY knowing each other, because deep inside each and every one of us - we are all human.
During November of 2010, when I became a brony I was worried that our herd would become smaller because all of the haters out there, but now I am happy to see those haters now bronies just like my friend in high school, and I couldn't be happier with this amazing community everypony!!!
@Shayna hello! dude i know exactly how you feel, i am the exact same way, always afraid, but bronies are different, i really hope you have a great year :)
@2007excalibur2007 The thing is "love and tolerate should have stayed the anti troll measure as it was intended to be. Not be the motto everyone on in the fandom all of a sudden has to adhere to. While it is a noble saying. It essentially has lost it's original meaning due to people not using it properly.
MLP has helped me calm myself over the past number of months. I feel stressed out almost everyday, between my crummy job, to my lack of any real social life, this community makes me feel like i belong somewhere. Like i am a part of something important.
Best of all, it's one of the greatest sources of kind hearted souls I've ever seen. This community has some of the most entertaining people in it, i just wish i could do more to be a part of it all. That being said however, just being here has made me feel special in my own way. :)
Thank you everypony for everything you have done, not just for me, but to all of the hearts you've touched out there. We are all Bronies, and we are united in our love for this show. :D
wow this got many comments fast but for real i love this community and I give Brohugs and brohoof to everypony for all this :D happy new year even it's a little late but let's do this :D
Thank you Everypony and to all my fellow bronies for showing me that there is truly still hope in our world, lets show 2012 a new era a new time one for love... one for compassion and one where a shining generation bronies bring hope to even the darkest of times.
It felt so good to just genuinely enjoy something, without there being a subtext of irony or snarkiness.
I love ponies. And I can say that with a straight face and mean it.
When my life gets stressful or I'm overwhelmed with college (as I am right now), I turn to ponies. to pony music. to pony episodes. to pony tumblrs, artwork, stories. to the community, to the herd.
In my eyes the Brony Community is the only thing that is impacting the world in a positive manner. With all that's happening we Bronies can make the difference in a better tomorrow for our world.
You know... The Maya calendar predicts a Great Change in December 2012. Most neighsayers interpret this as the End Of The World. But that's not what they said. They said that a cycle was ending, and a new cycle was beginning. Maybe we're that new cycle. Maybe we're the seeds of the Eon of Friendship. Maybe... the Maya knew something would happen to bring about that great change-- but I doubt they were expecting us. We were predicted. We're the children of prophecy. We are bronies... And we are destined to start to lead the world into an era of friendship, toleration, and love.
Look bronies, I love me some Friendship is Magic - it's a fantastic cartoon - and seeing people y'know getting along on the internet for a change is nice.
But with all this talk about the fandom being a "movement" and what we've "accomplished" things are getting more than a little creepy.
Even though I'm a clopper and generally thought of as a mistake in the community; I am still pure-blood Brony. This vid is correct in its full ideal that this year, this community WILL become one. Fully friendshipized and nice all around.
Know what would be hilarious? If we subtly, working in the background, and grass-roots, managed to get 2012 somehow declared the "Year of Friendship" for unrelated reasons. And then could trace it all the way back here.
You bronies are amazing and I'm glad I found you. I don't care if we go down in history or not, I'm just thrilled that there is a fandom where it's normal to love instead of hate. I never believed that was possible.
I really want to be an active part of this community, because you are all awesome. Also, I would like to make some internet friends and we're all about friendship, aren't we?
So, hello! I'm ArcheonZ and I'm looking forward to 2012.
I recently decided that since i read so many of the fics out there that i should start my own fan fic blog. at first i was hesitant because i knew i wanted to start posting right away but that no one would show up for awhile. i was afraid that people would take one look at it and laugh me off the internet. but because this community is so amazing i decided to go for it. this video really shows how great of a community we are.
Equestrian Book Club on Blogger. check me out, i'd appreciate
I imagine in four years time, BroNYcon is going to be headlined with the "all-inclusive but we swear it's not gay Brony cuddle party."
And not a single person will blink an inquisitive glare at it. Because that's how much damn love is being wafted about here, I swear, borderline tears in my eyes. So awesome.
2012. Year of Friendship. Yes. Let's make it happen. I want to see it happen.
My name is David, and I hereby extend a hand of friendship to the rest of the world.
Wow, you bronies are scarier every day that passes, you were already considered as creepy and dangerous as pedophiles and rapists, and now you are creating a whole "cult" around a show for little girls? You people really need professional help
So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. My Little Pony, Unites the world in song! So bronies, come rally, For this is the time and place! The magic of friendship, Unites the human race!
@2342424 Looking at it from the outside, yes, that's how it looks. And don't get me wrong, that's how it began; a show for little girls.
It has, over time, however, come to represent something much more, and I think that's fairly inarguable. Because we're not here merely as fans of a TV show, are we? We ARE fans of the show, of course, but that isn't all we are. We're a group of people that not only enjoy the show, but also have taken its message to heart, and in doing so, have come to embrace one another as friends rather than simply other people who share a single interest.
Is that worth getting this worked up over? Fuck yeah, it is. This is the first time I've ever seen something as simple as a TV show, let alone one for children, make such an impact. Not only that, but it's unarguably a POSITIVE impact. We're challenging societal norms here. Yeah, I know, lots of people have done that before, but what's so special about this case is that we're not doing it because we can, or to 'stand out' or anything like that. We're doing it passively, without even truly intending to, because we're just doing what we see is right. The question is now being asked, why CAN'T a thirty-year-old man enjoy a show for twelve-year-old girls? We don't watch it to be ironic, either. The fact that we genuinely enjoy it is bringing about a change in the way people think, however small it may be.
Is this a 'movement' per se? Hell no, but it's something close. What it is, or rather what it represents, is the faintest spark of potential for a shift in cultural values. It's nowhere near as big as some people make it out to be, but that doesn't mean we're insignificant in any way, shape, or form. Every single mind opened to the idea of love and tolerance by this community is a step in the right direction, and every step in the right direction should be celebrated. So, while it may have started out as simply a kids TV show, what the community has become is something we should all be proud of.
So I am. I'm proud of each and every one of you beautiful bastards. And I'm proud to count myself among you.
I'm really sorry you think that way, I hope this year we can change your view on the fandom. =)
But anyway this video actually brought a tear to my eye. All of you are awesome and I cannot express how much the community has helped me get through some tough times. All of you are the best <3
you know i came here because i liked the animation, the voice acting, music, and the plot line but i stayed because of the community. the amount of creativity that i see being put out just amazes me to no end. Here's to 2012 may it be the best one yet.
Ah, interesting to see so many other lurkers out there just like me! I've pretty much never posted a word on the 'net despite the fact that there are several forums and blogs I read every day.
Well, no more. Nearly every online community I've observed over the years has had an absolutely toxic attitude - except for this one. The Brony community is actually rather inspiring. In fact, seeing that video by iBringDaLULZ motivated me to pick up a pencil and start learning how to draw despite always thinking of myself as a crappy artist. I've been practicing every day for three weeks and now have a new goal of starting up my own tumblr blog.
Anyway, that video and the community's response to it has definitely motivated me to actually have a, active voice in this community. Good stuff.
Manly tears were shed during this video TvT This Fandom is awesome. I was going trough a little depression during my last months in High School but MLP and the community help me to get over it. I love you guys, I really do... no homo
Let's see... Where do I begin? I'm a lurker. I hardly if ever post on anything.
But I feel that's going to change all because of this show, this community.
I started watching the show 4 months ago (thanks to encouragement from friends) and loved it after the first couple episodes I saw. Since then I've seen the amazing creative output of the community, something that, in my opinion, has no parallel. Music, fics, animation, art, comics, plushies, etc. (Seriously is there anything no one has done with ponies yet?)
Videos like this one, the fan-work, the community itself, it's all inspired me to actually post, maybe I'll write out some of those fic ideas floating around in my head or try my hand at music.
So, yes, let's make 2012 the Year of Friendship. I know I'll try to. And I know the rest of this awesome community will too.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Matthew 5:43-45)
I have been struggling with anxiety and depression for a few years now, but since becoming a brony I feel significantly better. I am still depressed and anxious, mind you, just nowhere near as much as I was.
Since getting into MLP I've found myself more motivated, and actually really inspired.
I even have plans to write a fanfic, which will be my first actual writing 'project'.
Don't get me wrong, as a kid I wrote very short stories, and I still have an overactive imagination just buzzing with creativity. But I've always felt like people would read my stories and hate them.
However, after seeing how kind and accepting the brony community is, I feel.. Well, to put it simply I feel at home, really.
For the first time in a long time, I feel inspired. I feel like I can open up and actually write, and it just happens that the characters I want to write about are characters I already love and cherish.
I still have that worried feeling in the back of my mind, though. But it's different than usual, now I'm less worried about actually writing, and more worried about portraying the characters I've come to love and cherish so much incorrectly.
TL;DR: I love being a brony. It's given me the inspiration, motivation, and happiness I've been wanting for a while now.
I hope everypony doesn't mind my wall of text! ;^~^
I have honestly never been happier to be part of a fandom, I have been helped by this community so much. I can not begin to thank everyone enough for all the kind words of encouragement I have received, with all of the communities help I have overcome depression and started bettering myself. You have all helped me stop seeing myself as a useless screw up. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
BRONIES FOREVER!!! :) I felt that warm feeling in my heart... I love you all, bronies! And I am happy that such great community exists!! May The Herd Be With You! :) With every single one of you! I love y´all.
I really liked the video, and I agree with that last message. We should make it happen. Stick to your friendships and build new ones. Already working on it here!
I'm no hardcore brony. I enjoy the fictions and videos and art just as much as I would the next well made cartoon. Or book or movie, for that matter.
But you know what? Every time I take a dive in at the community, I get the feeling that something's a little different. A little off. There's something here that differentiates it from every other community or game that I've been a part of. I can't quite place a hoof on it, but I know my heart smiles a little every time I check in on EqD, read hilarious (pony) youtube comments, or pony forums and boards alike.
That, perhaps, is the sign. How long will it be before I buy pony merchandise? I have no idea.
But if ever someone makes pony playing cards, I'll be the first to hop on. ^^
@AlexReffand Thank you for this description of the brony phenomenon.
I'm one of the biggest believers that, somehow, bronies are bringing something to humanity. But I also see how simply thinking that is very close to dangerous cultist thinking.
I think you have found the right words to explain to an outsider what we are, and why we believe so strongly in all this. If you don't mind, I'll copy that text and keep it somewhere for when I have to talk for the bronies and find myself out of reasonable arguments.
Thinking of the incredible power, the incredible closeness of our community gives me chills every time i think about it. Then I watched this... And honestly? I can't wait for 2012. Screw the mayan calendar, we won't ever die out!
Looks like I fell asleep...and slept in...and...CELLY RAISED THE SUN AND LOWERED THE MOON WITHOUT ME!!! Well at least it isn't any worse-
@Nightmare Luna AAAAAAUUUGGGHHHH YOU ARE BACK AND AT EVERY TURN WHERE CAN I GOOOOOOOOOO!!! Just don't take my body, don't take my body, don'ttakemeI'mnotfree!!!
Oh Luna...I was crying the whole tme. I was the same way. Depression in school and everything, then ponies came. I really think it's the best thing to ever happen to me. And I'm never giving it up for anything. I love you all :')
Also, can someone please please plese link me the vid of 0:53-0:55 where Twilight Sparkles speaks and moves in RL? I wanna know if there´s more of it and it looked amazing! 8D
I smiled the entire video and shed a little tear at the end. I'm extremely proud to be a brony and to be a part of this awesome community! Onward bronies, let's make it happen!
I love you all, your my true family. You changed my life for the better. I will carry my time with you for the rest of my life and hopefully I can do the same to my own family. Please never stop being awesome.
I felt a manly tear trying to come out, but since I'm in public I held back.
I don't usually get militant about much, but fuck people who don't get it. We are who we are, and we accept anyone, anywhere, for any reason, and THAT'S what makes this fandom great. My own wife doesn't get it, not really, but ponies have been good for me, and will be good for me, and even if I'm the only person I ever meet who agrees with me, that will be okay, because I'll have the community in some form wherever I am.
When Japan suffered a natural disaster last year, thousands of dollars was raised within the fanbase to help. Those concept sketches (plus the Derpy Hooves sketch) placed on ebay by Lauren Faust saw a massive bidding war, and the proceeds from it went to helping Japan.
More recently, the Humble Indie Bundle saw a massive donation from Brony Bundle, whose funds were raised from contributions in the fan base.
Bronies are showing off a very charitable and generous side, actually doing something for the world around them. And it's being done as a community.
This group has the power to move mountains, and if last year was any indication, then it is quite likely that this year Bronies will.
I have NEVER seen a community give to other so willingly and, hell, competitively before. It's comforting to know that in some small way, we are putting good into the world instead of just into our little corner of it.
Wow!! I am so happy I'm part of this with everyone! Who would've thought? Two years ago I HATED the My Little Pony franchise, so that makes this entire thing even harder to believe.
we came far in 2011 and it was indeed a good year.
let 2012 be another year of friendship, let us make 2012 the year wer we yell out in one voice! we will not be forgotten we will not vanish forever friendship forever tolerance FOREVER BRONY
let us make this year 20% cooler!
and a silent thanks to my fellow bronies. tough i have never seen you, i still greet you as a friend, tough i have never heard of you, i know who you are, tough there are great distance between us, we are all still united.
you guys make me proud to be what i become, please dont ever change. /) to you all
Just gotta say I love this communinty and all the people involved in it.
My life would be much worse without it (Not that it was that bad, I just really didn't have any real friends i could talk to like i can in the fandom.)
I mean if my "friends" saw me post a comment like this, they would ridicule me for months.
basically, in short I love this community, all parts of it, and hope it lives on for many, many more years. To 2012!
:') that was awesome. This community is just awesome. All you guys are awesome. Cheers to a great 2012 the year of friendship ;). I can't thank you enough seth for this website your awesome. Wow I said awesome a lot in this post XD!
The world may know of ponies, but it still needs to learn to love them. There's a long road ahead of us, but we will band together as brothers to... Make It Happen.
The Brony community is amazing. No, we haven't "changed the world". But for many of us, our personal world has changed. This community gives us a place to gather with other Bronies, it gives us a support system, it gives us a welcoming home...in other words, it gives us friendship. And, as horrifically cheesy as it sounds, if this show has taught us anything, it has taught us the magic of friendship. It is powerful stuff, Elements of Harmony aside.
It is the offer of friendship that this community extends that is changing how things are online, and in real life. Not for the whole world, no. But for individuals. For Bronies, new and old. For acquaintances of Bronies, who are feeling the effects. And even for strangers, who may never have heard of MLP: FiM, through our community's charity efforts. We are making a difference for people. And I can't stress enough that it doesn't have to be a worldwide difference. If just one person was suffering depression, and our community helped them overcome it, I promise you, that is a difference. A big one.
Bronies - I love you all. We're doing great things, but lets not get carried away with how widespread our impact is. Instead, let's be proud of what we have achieved, and continue to be as welcoming as we can be as a community, because that is where our strength lies. Our offer of friendship to anyone who comes by is how we make ourselves different and also how we MAKE a difference. Impacting individuals (even if they aren't the "world") is nothing to sneeze at. We've made their personal worlds a better place. You've all certainly made my world a better place.
Also, I'm finally coming out of the woodwork. This is my first post to EqD. Howdy, everypony!
The point of having any community is what the US Constitution says. We can't "establish justice", obviously; but in our own ways, we ensure domestic tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and try to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and for those still to come. That's not woo-woo stuff; it's practical.
It doesn't matter whether it's ponies or a geographical location that is the foundation of a community. It's doing the work that counts.
Bronies who care enough to make and keep a community, I salute you.
we gotta do something awesome now, something to let people outside the internet know we're here. That we're worth knowing about and that despite any negative they may see, we're going to change things for the better
*removes glasses, begins clapping* Fuckin' A, man. This is the only online community I've been proud to be a part of. We have some laughs, we have some squabbles but what family doesn't?
Bronies, make it happen.
Oh yeah, Sethisto? Be sure to trademark "make it happen." Might as well, right?
It's amazing, really, to think that something so small could've grown so big as to start influencing the world beyond the internet.
When I came to the herd, it was.... early 2011? But since then, we've made so many meaningful acheivments, shown the rest of the world that we CAN do something, that there are people out there who will accept you for who you are because of little more than taking a lesson from a TV show.
If there was any way that the world may be set straight.... I honestly think it would be us. Our community. Our family. I believe that 20, 30 years from now, people will still look at us and think: "Wow. There's a group of people who knows what it really means to love your neighbors."
To all Bronies out there, thank you. Thank you for working together to make 2011 such a great year, and may 2012 be even greater!
I sort of teared up at the end. This year I moved from my little school with about 20 people in my grade to a huge public school with over a hundred, with out the lessons taught by this show to just be nice and all the bronies there who became my friends, this school year has been a blast thanks to the friendship of this show. Keep loving bronies and I hope even with hasbro being mean and hate from all the parasprites out there we can continue to laugh at it and show everyone the magic of friendship!

So... I've only ever commented once on EqD. But I feel the need to say some things, you know just as everyone else. I just want to say that if anyone reads this comment and you've already made one, I read your comment. I sat here, watched the video, and ready every comment posted here. Through the video and the reading I teared up.
Before ponies I was a generally happy individual, I didn't have depression, I don't have any diseases, the only problem with my health is my weight. So ponies didn't drastically change my life, it didn't make me happy because I was already happy. But there's always a dark side in everyone, and for mine it was hating the world and people. In general, people sicken me. The things they do, the way they act. You could turn on the news for an hour and hear about 3 murders.
I live in Indiana, and anyone who lives here has probably heard about Gencon, a huge 4 day festival for (although not limited to) tabletop gaming. Back in August I went to Gencon for the first time and it was the first place in my entire life I didn't feel constantly judged, the first place I felt welcomed and secure. I could've (and sort of did) walk up to random strangers and have a legitimate conversation with them. Gencon reestablished my faith in humanity, showed me the good side to all that I hated. But anyway I'm rambling.
Ponies showed me the same thing. You could find fan art for just about any show, maybe music remixes, probably a few spoof comments. But this fandom... there is new stuff everyday in each of those categories and more, and it's all phenomenal. This fandom has so much creativity and talent, we may not be a worldwide wave sweeping over everyone, but we are a huge group literally spanning the world. And we have changed things, I know because I'm living proof.
Thanks to ponies my outlook on life has been mostly positive. I think about my entire life as a whole and think "You know, my life is pretty sweet." But I'm not even the best proof. As I said earlier, I read every comment here, and the stories of the way your guys' lives have changed proves that we're doing great things without making ourselves known to everyone. But again, I'm rambling.
As I sit here with a sprained knee I can still say life is good. And I owe that to you guys. To friendship, Let's Make it Happen.
I've already commented, but I just want to say what everypony else is saying. This fandom has taken a huge impact on my life and the tons of friends I have converted. This is the greatest community I have ever seen. And I have no idea how, but it gets better and better each day. Everytime I see things like this, I shiver and tear up. It just blows my mind like nothing other. So, let's make 2012 even better than 2011! I'm sure it's possible with you guys!
The great thing is, the reason we're such a friendly community is because we're learning from the show. We use the object of our fandom to make the fandom better - and with it, the world.
I think we all got as deep in this fandom as we are because of the fandom itself, rather than the show, not to imply the show isn't one of few TV shows with quality nowadays. Somehow My Little Pony has managed to gather like-minded individuals, and even change a few people's perspectives on things. I find that I can agree with almost every brony, and unless the topic is Best Pony, this fandom won't turn on each other. And if they do, it's often jokingly rather than serious.
I won't say that ponies changed my life that much, but I feel as though I've become a better person. At the very least I've actually managed to regain some faith in humanity, which had been very low a year or so ago. You guys are some of the most talented and kind people I've seen, and just having all of you compiled into one fandom is a bit mind blowing.
2012 as year of the pony? Alright. Let's make it happen.
This video made me realize just how big our Brony community is. We are everywhere. 2012 will be the year of the magic of friendship, and we will MAKE IT HAPPEN. ;D
That video was so heart touching. I've already made friends I never would have before thanks to this community, and I hope to continue making friends. Let's make 2012: THE BEST! YEAR! EVER!
For all the sadness, injustice and hatred in the world, we have managed to build this awesome community of love and tolerance. Its still hard to believe all this started from some television episodes of candy colored cartoon ponies, but I am proud to be a part of it.

ReplyDeleteI watched with a smile, and then I started to tear up at the end.
ReplyDelete2012 shall be the year of friendship.
ReplyDeleteA brohoof to the fellow Lower Saxonian who made this video. (Also, our meetup in "Stutengart"/ Stuttgart will watch it later for sure)
ReplyDeleteWow.... That was a damn good video!
ReplyDeleteThe music, the visuals and wow.
Keep being awesome, fellow Bronies.
I just died a little inside.
ReplyDeleteWe've come so far and have done so much within one year. Imagine what we can do with this next one or the one after that. This community is so strong. We help those who fall down, and we keep pushing forward no matter what. We are a force of good to be recognized!
ReplyDeleteThat lil' chat box part of the video really got to me, I have always been judged poorly from my love of musical theater, hate of popular things out there (few peeps like 80's indie music where I am) and my little eccentricities, but people understood my rather occasionally girly attitude in life (fuck every guy out there who doesn't think rings and jewelry can be cool) so yeah really bronies did help me realize I am not the only person who can appreciate the cute little things in life. This video really does carry a positive message, and got me to tear up a little bit :')
ReplyDeletetouching, and motivating
ReplyDeletenow that i think of it, i am a much happier person than i was before the magic of friendship hit me
Awesome video.
ReplyDelete2012- The year of Friendship!
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful. All these kinds of videos want me to just go out and make some friends. A lot of friends.
ReplyDeleteThis represents what we're striving for, after all: being the best community we can be.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I think I can manage that, y'know?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was heartfelt. To 2012 and beyond!
ReplyDeleteMan. We make this shit happen.
ReplyDelete@Mint Chip
ReplyDeleteYou weren't the only one.
That was amazing.
ReplyDeleteLet's make 2012 better than last year my fellow Bronies.
ReplyDeleteshould I be worried if I cried watching this? Here's to the year of friendship.
ReplyDeleteWell that got me tear up a little and it was really touching
ReplyDelete@Big Ditzy
ReplyDeleteto friendship.
Make It Happen? It's Already Happening! :) You Guys are Amazing and I just want to say Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to comment for the first time because though I've always been afraid of making any type of contacts on the internet (or in real life even) and putting myself out there in any way, I figure if I can't feel safe with Bronies then there's no other community I could feel safe with.
ReplyDeleteI may as well start with the new year and see if I can make some real friends. If this is the year of friendship, I want to be part of it instead of just watching and wishing.
So hello guys!
I want too hug anypony right now this video will come tru with our actions and in México I will do my best to make this happen :D
ReplyDelete*cries tears of manliness*
ReplyDeleteWe will...We will make it happen...
:D
'cause a cartoon is obviously a self-help doctrine and a quasi-religion.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Seth and Phoe are running this blog, they obviously don't have any deep-seated identity and sexuality issues.
It's so very true.
ReplyDeleteI'm new; I hadn't even watched an episode of the show until last November and I wouldn't have if I didn't buy a Princess Celestia toy on a whim after seeing that Thundercats toys cost just as much and were awful.
Thanks All
This is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI also want to say thanks to this community, your all awesome. So lets do this!
Quest: Make it happen!
ReplyDeleteObjectives: Make 2012 the friendliest year in history
(Optional): Bro-hoof ALL the bronies. Every. Single. One.
@FilAm4494 To friendship! *Raises glass*
ReplyDeleteFantastic Video. MLP changed so many people lives, and it made them happy. The community is amazing and awesome. I just love having somthing like MLP to be liked commonly all over the internet because its always interesting to talk about.
ReplyDeleteThe music, the stories, the charities, the people and the places. It IS no longer about the show.
ReplyDeleteWe are family!
This is really nice :)
ReplyDeletePonies and the Brony community got me through some tough times, so I give each you a great big brohug! <3
/)(^3^)(\
@Krieve We are family! Come on everypony and sing!
ReplyDelete@Shayna
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Herd. Hugs for everypony!! :D
Really, an awesome video. This guy is right, let us continue to spread this show, but more importantly, let's continue to spread the message of love and tolerance!
ReplyDelete@Select Few
ReplyDeleteTo friendship. *tries to raise a glass, but knocks over the glass instead* Sorry, it is hard to raise a glass with my hooves.
i cried i am not gonna lie i love u guys and i love our community
ReplyDeleteit still amazes me how it just took off like this, never have i been so proud to call myself a brony. i cant wait for another year of new friends and adventures in this wonderful fandom *tear*
ReplyDelete@anonycus
ReplyDelete*hug*
I want to sing Winter wrap up its that ok?? XD
ReplyDelete@mlp
ReplyDeleteShots fired...
Brony.
ReplyDeletePortmanteau of:
"Brother" and "Pony"
We are all the same species.
WE ARE BRONIES.
>spread the message of love & tolerance
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how some people take this as "shoving it down other's throats".
But then again, haters gonna hate, I guess.
During November of 2010, when I became a brony I was worried that our herd would become smaller because all of the haters out there, but now I am happy to see those haters now bronies just like my friend in high school, and I couldn't be happier with this amazing community everypony!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are bronies! Make it happen.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud to call myself a brony, and I thank all the bronies out there for all of the awesome over the past year.
@Shayna hello! dude i know exactly how you feel, i am the exact same way, always afraid, but bronies are different, i really hope you have a great year :)
ReplyDeleteAh ha ha...
ReplyDeleteAnd of course...
I couldn't forget you Cereal Velocity...
Thank you.
Each and every one of you.
For opening up my eyes, and making me realize that there IS some good out there on the internet.
*Open Arms*
Group Hug?
@2007excalibur2007 The thing is "love and tolerate should have stayed the anti troll measure as it was intended to be. Not be the motto everyone on in the fandom all of a sudden has to adhere to. While it is a noble saying. It essentially has lost it's original meaning due to people not using it properly.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was like -_- but then I was like :'D
ReplyDeleteI teared up a bit at this... dawww I love you all
ReplyDeleteI teared up a bit, too. I love being a brony, and I love all you other bronies so much! Epic brohug everypony!
ReplyDelete@gillnavisingh

@Kyso
ReplyDelete*hug*
We can make 2012 our year. I know we can.
ReplyDeleteMLP has helped me calm myself over the past number of months.
Here's to us. *raise glass*
Cheers
wow this got many comments fast but for real i love this community and I give Brohugs and brohoof to everypony for all this :D happy new year even it's a little late but let's do this :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Everypony and to all my fellow bronies for showing me that there is truly still hope in our world, lets show 2012 a new era a new time one for love... one for compassion and one where a shining generation bronies bring hope to even the darkest of times.
ReplyDeleteWe are SO awesome!
ReplyDeleteGood job, guys - let's keep up this momentum...<3
I honestly love and admire you all!
I really needed My Little Pony in my life.
ReplyDeleteIt felt so good to just genuinely enjoy something, without there being a subtext of irony or snarkiness.
I love ponies. And I can say that with a straight face and mean it.
When my life gets stressful or I'm overwhelmed with college (as I am right now), I turn to ponies. to pony music. to pony episodes. to pony tumblrs, artwork, stories. to the community, to the herd.
and I feel better again.
so. bronies.
2012.
It. Is. On.
In my eyes the Brony Community is the only thing that is impacting the world in a positive manner. With all that's happening we Bronies can make the difference in a better tomorrow for our world.
ReplyDelete@gillnavisingh *Joins the group hug*
ReplyDeleteYou know...
ReplyDeleteThe Maya calendar predicts a Great Change in December 2012.
Or maybe not-- but I can damn well hope!
BRONIES FOREVERRRRR!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I became a brony. Because of us. I want you all to know. I want everyone to know.
ReplyDeleteYour you. And no one, EVER can change that.
This is the year of the brony. Im proud to say I cried tears of happiness watching this.
I love you all
@Kenko706 *Spit-take*
ReplyDeleteHmm... You know, you might be on to something...
With tears of manliness shed, here's to 2012 fellow bronies!
ReplyDeleteThe year of friendship!
Our goal - bronydom worldwide!

ReplyDelete2012 - Year of Friendship
ReplyDelete*sniff*
Group hug bronies!
Look bronies, I love me some Friendship is Magic - it's a fantastic cartoon - and seeing people y'know getting along on the internet for a change is nice.
ReplyDeleteBut with all this talk about the fandom being a "movement" and what we've "accomplished" things are getting more than a little creepy.
I mean come on guys. Seriously.
Even though I'm a clopper and generally thought of as a mistake in the community; I am still pure-blood Brony. This vid is correct in its full ideal that this year, this community WILL become one. Fully friendshipized and nice all around.
ReplyDeletewhy i have shiver, and tears in my eyes of awasome? really i donno?
ReplyDeleteKnow what would be hilarious? If we subtly, working in the background, and grass-roots, managed to get 2012 somehow declared the "Year of Friendship" for unrelated reasons. And then could trace it all the way back here.
ReplyDeleteoh Kenko, u made me lol ^^
ReplyDeleteand hello to you Shayna! im a social recluse too
That was really sweet.
ReplyDeleteMan, that video was awesome. This fandom is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHugs for everyone!
That was powerful. Thank you all for taking the time to make this.
ReplyDeleteYou bronies are amazing and I'm glad I found you. I don't care if we go down in history or not, I'm just thrilled that there is a fandom where it's normal to love instead of hate. I never believed that was possible.
ReplyDeleteI really want to be an active part of this community, because you are all awesome. Also, I would like to make some internet friends and we're all about friendship, aren't we?
So, hello! I'm ArcheonZ and I'm looking forward to 2012.
@Shayna Hello to you too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a wonderful 2011 filled with love and friendship.
ReplyDeleteLets make 2012 the best year ever! *brohoof*
2011, was the year of the brony.
ReplyDelete2012, the year of friendship.
2013, the year we take over the world.
This was really touching.
ReplyDeleteI recently decided that since i read so many of the fics out there that i should start my own fan fic blog. at first i was hesitant because i knew i wanted to start posting right away but that no one would show up for awhile. i was afraid that people would take one look at it and laugh me off the internet. but because this community is so amazing i decided to go for it.
ReplyDeletethis video really shows how great of a community we are.
Equestrian Book Club on Blogger. check me out, i'd appreciate
Equestria was mentioned in Saints Row: the third.
ReplyDelete(:
I love how at the end the guy was like
ReplyDeleteGuy: lets make it happen!
Guy: *Puts on le sunglasses*
Me: LIKE A BOSS!
I imagine in four years time, BroNYcon is going to be headlined with the "all-inclusive but we swear it's not gay Brony cuddle party."
ReplyDeleteAnd not a single person will blink an inquisitive glare at it. Because that's how much damn love is being wafted about here, I swear, borderline tears in my eyes. So awesome.
2012. Year of Friendship. Yes. Let's make it happen. I want to see it happen.
My name is David, and I hereby extend a hand of friendship to the rest of the world.
I teared, man. :')

ReplyDeleteBrohug, I love you all.
I checked the video on YouTube...
ReplyDeleteActual quote from description:
"UPDATE: no comment or like function anymore because of too much fighting."

ReplyDeleteWow, you bronies are scarier every day that passes, you were already considered as creepy and dangerous as pedophiles and rapists, and now you are creating a whole "cult" around a show for little girls? You people really need professional help
ReplyDelete@Epar
ReplyDeleteOh hello there, enjoy your stay here, we will tolerate you. Because really, you took your time to use an account to come here.
@2342424 Unbeliever!
ReplyDeleteSo come brothers and sisters,
For the struggle carries on.
My Little Pony,
Unites the world in song!
So bronies, come rally,
For this is the time and place!
The magic of friendship,
Unites the human race!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Epar
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was sure we are already a cult.
I just figured out thanks to this vid there is a group of bronies in my country, no idea if I'm gonna do much about it, but cheers!
@2342424 Looking at it from the outside, yes, that's how it looks. And don't get me wrong, that's how it began; a show for little girls.
ReplyDeleteIt has, over time, however, come to represent something much more, and I think that's fairly inarguable.
@Epar
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry you think that way, I hope this year we can change your view on the fandom. =)
But anyway this video actually brought a tear to my eye. All of you are awesome and I cannot express how much the community has helped me get through some tough times. All of you are the best <3
@AlexReffand
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing!
You have my bow.
Manly tears were shed.
ReplyDeleteyou know i came here because i liked the animation, the voice acting, music, and the plot line but i stayed because of the community. the amount of creativity that i see being put out just amazes me to no end. Here's to 2012 may it be the best one yet.
ReplyDelete@Epar I should probably clarify my previous comment was tongue-in-cheek, by the way, in case the utter absurdity didn't make it obvious.
ReplyDelete@Shayna
ReplyDeleteAh, interesting to see so many other lurkers out there just like me!
Good stuff.
@2342424 You sir require more education to understand how powerful something so little can turn into.
ReplyDeleteManly tears were shed during this video TvT
ReplyDeleteThis Fandom is awesome. I was going trough a little depression during my last months in High School but MLP and the community help me to get over it. I love you guys, I really do... no homo
That's why I got into this fanbase; People like this. Friendly, real, people that accept without a moment of hesitation.
ReplyDeleteBrohooves all around.
Nice, uplifting, positive; not bad.
ReplyDelete...hmm. Only question now is:
What should we make happen next? Some of the stuff already accomplished will be tough to top.
...Anyone up for a brony-funded moon colony?
XD
Let's see... Where do I begin?
ReplyDeleteI'm a lurker.
Let's make 2012 fantastic, bronies.
best bucking Community ever! :D i guess... nothing can stop us? lets develope the Worldwide Friendship Net? :P
ReplyDeleteI'm from KSA and I'm a brony
ReplyDeleteThis community is awesome. And we definitely should make this year to be awesome to.
ReplyDeleteA year... of Friendship.
/manly tears
ReplyDeleteWhere doing it bronies
Where making this hapen
@Epar
ReplyDelete"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Matthew 5:43-45)
tl;dr: I still love you. :)
I have been struggling with anxiety and depression for a few years now, but since becoming a brony I feel significantly better. I am still depressed and anxious, mind you, just nowhere near as much as I was.
ReplyDeleteSince getting into MLP I've found myself more motivated, and actually really inspired.
ReplyDeleteThat video was so touching... I shed a manly tear. Yes, the bronies can do that, because we're (like the video say) a big family. I love you all!
ReplyDelete"Dude, I honestly don't like we're a fanbase. We've evolved. We're FAMILY."
ReplyDeleteThis, bros. All of this.
BRONIES FOREVER!!! :) I felt that warm feeling in my heart... I love you all, bronies! And I am happy that such great community exists!! May The Herd Be With You! :) With every single one of you! I love y´all.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the video, and I agree with that last message. We should make it happen. Stick to your friendships and build new ones. Already working on it here!
ReplyDeleteFeels good to be a brony <3
What the hell, the video on youtube has disabled likes and comments "because of too much fighting". What the hell, how is this video prompting fights?
ReplyDeleteI was moved by the video, but even more moved by the awesome comments :) Love you
ReplyDelete@Sniphles
ReplyDeleteHope to see your work soon! ^^
This is the best community ever. That video made me feel so warm inside :)
ReplyDelete@Lankygit
ReplyDeleteTypical trolls jumping in and create chaos and discord.
Maybe Discord tip them off.
@B As do I. I really REALLY hope I can find the motivation to get started on it soon. c:
ReplyDeleteHellyeah.cab Really happy to see this.
ReplyDeleteI'm no hardcore brony.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the fictions and videos and art just as much as I would the next well made cartoon.
Yeah... I Like! :D
ReplyDeleteI mean... um.. Gefällt mir ;)
It's really well made, I'm proud of you Tobias, and I'm proud to be part of this community.
ReplyDeleteAll hail 2012- The Year of Friendship!
ReplyDelete@AlexReffand Thank you for this description of the brony phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the biggest believers that, somehow, bronies are bringing something to humanity.
I love this community, and the people in it. I really do. *joins in brohug*
ReplyDelete@Kane
ReplyDeletewell, someones currently making a pony TCG, so if that's what you mean by playing cards, it won't be a very long wait :D
I am proud to be a part of this, and in whatever way I can I will promote 2012 as The year of Friendship.
ReplyDeleteMake it happen!
Proud to be a brony and always will be. Brohoofs all around!
ReplyDeleteThings like these make me so much proud to be a brony. 2012 is our year, let's make it happen
ReplyDeleteThinking of the incredible power, the incredible closeness of our community gives me chills every time i think about it. Then I watched this... And honestly? I can't wait for 2012. Screw the mayan calendar, we won't ever die out!
ReplyDeleteFreddy Mercury would be proud... Some faith in humanity has been restored with this video...
ReplyDeleteLooks like I fell asleep...and slept in...and...CELLY RAISED THE SUN AND LOWERED THE MOON WITHOUT ME!!! Well at least it isn't any worse-
ReplyDelete@Nightmare Luna AAAAAAUUUGGGHHHH YOU ARE BACK AND AT EVERY TURN WHERE CAN I GOOOOOOOOOO!!! Just don't take my body, don't take my body, don'ttakemeI'mnotfree!!!
Oh Luna...I was crying the whole tme.
ReplyDeleteI was the same way. Depression in school and everything, then ponies came. I really think it's the best thing to ever happen to me.
And I'm never giving it up for anything.
I love you all :')
Bronyhug for everypony!
ReplyDeleteI hope we all gonna ahve a great year 2012! :D
Also, can someone please please plese link me the vid of 0:53-0:55 where Twilight Sparkles speaks and moves in RL? I wanna know if there´s more of it and it looked amazing! 8D
We need to Write history this year You guys.
ReplyDelete/)*(\ What a great vid. Let's keep it up guys!
ReplyDeleteI smiled the entire video and shed a little tear at the end. I'm extremely proud to be a brony and to be a part of this awesome community! Onward bronies, let's make it happen!
ReplyDeleteMust not cry, must not cry, must not cry...
ReplyDeleteHnnnghhhh!!
I love you all, your my true family. You changed my life for the better. I will carry my time with you for the rest of my life and hopefully I can do the same to my own family. Please never stop being awesome.
ReplyDeleteI felt a manly tear trying to come out, but since I'm in public I held back.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually get militant about much, but fuck people who don't get it.
Thank you all.
...
I need such a hug right now.
@2342424
ReplyDeleteBut the fanbase has accomplished a lot.
Proud to be a brony.
ReplyDeleteEverypony here is just... awesome.
@Ottermatt
ReplyDelete*huge brohug*
I wish I could in real life. But this will suffice? :)
@Mattatatta
ReplyDelete^ THIS THIS THIS
I have NEVER seen a community give to other so willingly and, hell, competitively before.
It's comforting to know that in some small way, we are putting good into the world instead of just into our little corner of it.
Wow!! I am so happy I'm part of this with everyone! Who would've thought? Two years ago I HATED the My Little Pony franchise, so that makes this entire thing even harder to believe.
ReplyDelete@Sunset Sprinkles
ReplyDeleteVery much so. Appreciated, brony.
@OtterMatt
ReplyDeleteNo problem. I just thank you and everypony else just being in this community. And I hope some day you're wife will understand better :p
Seriously touching.
ReplyDeleteFirst community that has ever convinced me to give money to charity. If pastel ponies can pull that off, anything is possible.
Onward, to the new episode, and to 2012!
Very moving. On ward Bronies!
ReplyDeletewe came far in 2011 and it was indeed a good year.
ReplyDeletelet 2012 be another year of friendship,
let us make 2012 the year wer
we yell out in one voice!
we will not be forgotten
we will not vanish
forever friendship
forever tolerance
FOREVER BRONY
let us make this year 20% cooler!
and a silent thanks to my fellow bronies. tough i have never seen you, i still greet you as a friend, tough i have never heard of you, i know who you are, tough there are great distance between us, we are all still united.
you guys make me proud to be what i become, please dont ever change. /) to you all
Just gotta say I love this communinty and all the people involved in it.
ReplyDeleteMy life would be much worse without it (Not that it was that bad, I just really didn't have any real friends i could talk to like i can in the fandom.)
ReplyDeleteLong Live the Herd! Let's make 2012 magic!
ReplyDeleteSeriously why the fuck did you have to use that FUCKING image. I hate it, why must so many others have to hate on Luna like that? Fuck you Cereal
ReplyDeletewow... what a stirring video!
ReplyDeleteThe world may know of ponies, but it still needs to learn to love them. There's a long road ahead of us, but we will band together as brothers to...
ReplyDeleteMake It Happen.
Here's to a great new year!
ReplyDeleteIt is the offer of friendship that this community extends that is changing how things are online, and in real life.
@Shayna
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Internet, and more importantly, welcome to the herd.
Apparently, in my eagerness to make my first post, I forgot to mention how awesome the video was. I got teary-eyed. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove you all.
ReplyDeleteIts things like this that inspire me to try my hand at contributing with music , art etc.
Stay together bronies, don't you stop loving.
@Shayna
ReplyDelete*Hugs*
Sometimes, I feel the same way.
Make it so number one community.
ReplyDeleteBronies = Best thing to happen in my lifetime.
ReplyDeleteRemember world Peace? Give it a few years...
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter whether it's ponies or a geographical location that is the foundation of a community. It's doing the work that counts.
Bronies who care enough to make and keep a community, I salute you.
we gotta do something awesome now, something to let people outside the internet know we're here. That we're worth knowing about and that despite any negative they may see, we're going to change things for the better
ReplyDeleteHey, where'd my tumor go?
ReplyDelete*removes glasses, begins clapping*
ReplyDeleteFuckin' A, man.
ReplyDeleteWhen I came to the herd, it was....
I know I don't post much or anything, and I'm not really that activity in the community, but thanks :)
ReplyDeleteYall are awesome.
*raises glass*
to friendship.

ReplyDelete@Arkalidor Thanks! I was half asleep, and had no idea how that post was going to turn out XD
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was coherent, let alone good enough to be worth repeating. Use it however you want, brony. It's public property now :3
Everypony comment before me is AMAZING, GREAT, SMART, 20% MORE COOLER, BEAUTIFUL, INCREDIBLE, SPECIAL and MAGICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteand any comments after me is even more Magical...
Long live to the Friendship!
BroHoof Everypony /)
So... I've only ever commented once on EqD. But I feel the need to say some things, you know just as everyone else. I just want to say that if anyone reads this comment and you've already made one, I read your comment. I sat here, watched the video, and ready every comment posted here. Through the video and the reading I teared up.
ReplyDeleteBefore ponies I was a generally happy individual, I didn't have depression, I don't have any diseases, the only problem with my health is my weight.
And I realize I just wrote a book... happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have so much pride in this community that I might just explode twice...
ReplyDeleteMay Our friendship grow mightier in the year 2012
I've already commented, but I just want to say what everypony else is saying. This fandom has taken a huge impact on my life and the tons of friends I have converted. This is the greatest community I have ever seen. And I have no idea how, but it gets better and better each day. Everytime I see things like this, I shiver and tear up. It just blows my mind like nothing other.
ReplyDeleteSo, let's make 2012 even better than 2011! I'm sure it's possible with you guys!
The great thing is, the reason we're such a friendly community is because we're learning from the show. We use the object of our fandom to make the fandom better - and with it, the world.
ReplyDelete2012 - the year of Friendship.
ReplyDeleteI won't say that ponies changed my life that much, but I feel as though I've become a better person. At the very least I've actually managed to regain some faith in humanity, which had been very low a year or so ago. You guys are some of the most talented and kind people I've seen, and just having all of you compiled into one fandom is a bit mind blowing.
2012 as year of the pony? Alright. Let's make it happen.
Heh heh, thought of the Starcraft Battle Cruiser's commander. "Set a course. Make it happen."
ReplyDeleteA brohoof from Sweden coming at ya! /)
ReplyDeleteyou guys are awaesome! thank you for being the greatest community I ever heard of!
ReplyDeleteMAKE IT HAPPEN bronies!
This video made me realize just how big our Brony community is. We are everywhere. 2012 will be the year of the magic of friendship, and we will MAKE IT HAPPEN. ;D
ReplyDeleteLET'S HAVE A BRONY HUG ORGY!
ReplyDelete@MikaelFenix
ReplyDeleteAnd another one! (\
Oh man, that video was really touching :')
I feel so much pride in being a part of this wonder.
Year of friendship, I'm ready for you!
Excuse me, I have something manly in my eye.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes!
ReplyDeleteThat video was so heart touching.
ReplyDeleteGo Bronies, Make It Happen.
Make it happen!
