I'm sorry that it's coming to this, everypony. But my equipment has flat out had enough of the abuse I've been putting it through, and it's not taking my crap anymore. My poor little phone has nothing left to give, and the amount of time I can squeeze out of a public wifi network in a given day really isn't enough for me to be able to do this event justice. So after much consulting with my trusty advisers, I have come to the conclusion that the best thing I can do for the event is to put it on hold until internet is installed in my apartment. Thanks so much, Time Warner.
That's not very exciting, I know. You wanted to draw ponies, and believe me, you will. But we're going to do this right. Trust me, when we finally get a Day 2 gallery and hand out the Day 3 theme, it's going to be so cool. Thanks for sticking with me, folks. I promise it will all be worth it.

And take a breather; trying to run this thing through your phone is just plain nuts. A good kind of nuts, true, more like cashews than Brazil nuts, but nuts all the same.

Honestly, I don't see a problem. The training camp? It's actually lasting for a time. Considering the story of the event has people being transported/transformed to participate, it ties in pretty well. I dunno about the rest of you guys, but I have some habits as a biped that don't fit particularly well with quadrupedal motion. While a pratfall may be funny at times, no one wants to do one in front of an army of griffons. Sorry, I ramble a bit.

C'mon, the whole thing is practically an artistic *party* where we play war games. If you're not having fun with it, then how are we supposed to have fun with it? We'd be pretty crappy party guests if we were all surly and such.
Besides, if it's delayed long enough, I might actually get past my deadlines and be able to participate more.

Can someone please tell me what it is that is so appealing about this show. ReplyDeleteWell, there is a lot to like about the show, I don't see why you wouldn't like the show unless you were so insecure about maturity that the concept of watching a children's show made you feel odd. The production value is amazing and has this kind of charm that just draws people in. Watching a few episodes isn't going to change any opinions, most people won't admit their into the series until around the 10th episode. sometimes even later. Honestly, It's perfectly normal he likes it, otherwise their wouldn't be such a large community around it >.> I hope this clears somethings up for you, because it is NOT a fetish. Fetishes are sexual, and most of the fans are not into ponies like that. ReplyDeleteIt's OK Phoe. Everyone appreciates the time and dedication you put into these events. Also I have an exam and important project application due next week, which will all be over when the event resumes so I'll be able to spend a decent amount of time working on each day's entry.
ReplyDeleteAlso gives me more spare time to throw together the comic idea for day two's theme- I've not drawn a comic before and I have real trouble with pony proportions so it'll be challenging.
I suppose I'm also in the 'kinda glad it got postponed' camp, would have just missed it otherwise instead of just day 1.

I found myself using fotos as backgrounds too. But even after putting them through a dozen filters, it just clashed with the characters.
So I started drawing backgrounds. Still need some practice though.

ReplyDeleteI wish they'd give an update, as this is the only real direction I've ever had with my (terrible) pony art. However, I understand the limitations when it comes to internet troubles. I'm also running internet from my phone on a completely capped connection, meaning I'm slowed to little more than a crawl.
