Check the hell out of that picture. It's freakin' awesome and it's not even DONE YET. Yell at the artist to finish it!
Anyway, we got tons of various stuff, artwork, and videos to celebrate the event, some of which have gone up today. You all fried Seth's brain. Good job! Now who's gonna run the blog? Me? You don't want that, trust me.
Find all the goodies after the break!

This is a great mark for EQD!
ReplyDeleteone billion page views shall be surpassed by the end of this year.
ReplyDeleteWord of this post
ReplyDeleteCelebration!
i missed it cause class. :[
ReplyDeletewell, at least i was around to watch 50,000,000 go over.
With Cereal in charge that can only mean its time for whack hijinks!
ReplyDeleteI remember 10,000~
ReplyDeleteProof; we are awesome.
ReplyDeleteCongrates EqD!
I feel offended, Mexico City is not in that list
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought that the 30,000,000 was a big deal :D
ReplyDeleteWe are the champions my friends
ReplyDelete*Skampers off to start working on a 200m project*
ReplyDeleteI started as an anonymous lurker... back before I came out of the stable.
ReplyDeleteBack then, Seth was laughing off the idea that Equestria Daily would be the monolith it is today.
Well who's laughing now, Seth?
Well... You are...
That title image- I recognize that sugar miner up on the top center!!
ReplyDeleteI just have one issue with that image. Every number should be rolling over from a 9 to a 0, not just the last digit. (except the first digit, which would just be rolling from 0 to 1.)
ReplyDeleteBut on topic, good times.
I LOVE BIG NUMBERS! When its not apart of math...
ReplyDeleteahem
ReplyDeleteTHAT IMAGE IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS EVER PASSED BEFORE MY EYES.
Oooh, seth deleted my post? :D
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean you're going to start deleting "First" spam? Joy!
Hey it says you have visted this site 1,149 times since august 28 2011 just proves I that I visit this site about 17 times a day seems legit
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaah I love that image so muchhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how fast this site has grown. It's been amazing. Thanks to all the staff (I guess that's what I call you) at EqD, because of you and the rest of the community, what started out as watching a cartoon out of curiosity has turned into me into a full blown fan.
ReplyDeleteYou all are fantastic, keep being awesome!
1:53 am in South Australia? Curses right after I went to sleep.
ReplyDeleteJust goes to show how important EQD is to the community really. Good work guys.
Meh, good show I guess.
ReplyDeleteDamnit Steve Jobs, your ghost needs to stop posting ponies and get back to making my iTunes suck less!!
DeleteThat was simply a brilliant article. Very professionally done, while still being very accessible. I feel much more informed having read it, and it is truly a testament to the spirit of community. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to us all!
ReplyDeleteMore congratulation images and videos, very nice. I remember when that number was still a lower five digits. Seems like it was just yesterday... in fact, it wasn't really all that long ago. lol Congrats yet again. It's not going to be long before that 1 hits 2.
ReplyDeleteWait... Is that all the 100mil art? huh figured tere would be more since it's an insane milestone.
ReplyDeleteWelp, nonetheless we prove that we are a force to be reckoned with!
This is pretty dang amazing, guys... I know I'm new to the EqD team, but I'm honored to be even a small part of what this site and this community has become. Here's to the next 100 million!
ReplyDeleteHow long do you think it'll take for us to get a counter so long it drops off the right side of the screen?
ReplyDeletewow 1 million, this is a glorious day ideed.
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO CONGRATS EQD!! this is so awsome
ReplyDeleteI remember when 50,000 was a big deal.
ReplyDeleteBack in February.
Good times.
@Cereal Velocity
ReplyDeleteAhh, those were the days~
You guy are early bronies i remember 40 millio hit in summer I belive
DeleteWell said, Cereal. It has definitely been a great year :) I'm looking forward to an even better 2012. Onward bronies!!
ReplyDeleteHow did the timing compare to the prediction made back during the summer? I know they predicted we'd hit 100 million in January, but what was the exact date they predicted?
ReplyDeleteI may not have been here for long, but by watching the show, browsing through all of the artwork, fanfics, videos, etc, and talking with you guys, it almost feels like I've been here all along. This show, and this community, has become a permanent part of my life. One that I will never be able to cast away.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the whole EqD crew on 100 million hits. Here's to millions more. Congrats to all of us for making this the awesome community it is. And to all of the people I've met during my short time here and those I have yet to meet, thank you for being there.
We've made so many awesome memories this past year. How about we make even more awesome memories this year.
@Cereal Velocity
ReplyDeletei came around in July and we were at what... 20 million?
now that is pretty freaking cool!!
ReplyDeleteI remember when the counter was below 100k and how excited everyone was when we made it.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work everyone! You all rock.:)
I started checking on EqD back in the beginning of October, and I think it was around 55/60 million by then, so if in 5 months that number almost doubled, just imagine how much till we double 100m.
ReplyDeleteOnward to 200,000,000 and beyond!
ReplyDeleteI remember back before the first million we have come a long way and we still have a ways to go. Here's to another 100 million my friends.
ReplyDeleteLet's break another digit on that counter!
ReplyDeleteCongrats EqD! I look forward to another hundred million!
@Sethisto
ReplyDeleteCongrats For everything Seth, and also for being the founder of EqD this site is awesome
I been here since late July. And it has been an awesome experience, even if I don't comment or talk that much ^^;. I love you guys :D
ReplyDeleteSeth, you have truly created something incredible. That article about the show was pretty awesome. I think this show has set the new standard as far as fanbase interaction goes. I mean, we even get to chat with the younger members of the team (like Michelle Creber, for instance).
ReplyDeleteIf I created a media franchise, I would want to have a good relationship with the fans, seeing the examples of influence and support among the bronies and the creative staff of this show. I mean, for the latter, we all heard what Nicole Oliver said at Bronycon. For the former, well, Derpy Hooves is all I have to say.
Okay, long rant almost over. Thank you Seth for this incredible blog, and thank you Lauren Faust, for influencing not just my creative juices but all of ours. I have been privileged to take part in such a huge phenomenon, and I hope it can continue for years to come, SOPA be damned!
I had plans to make a celebratory wooden Trixie for this. I really did. It was on my list of to-do's and everything.
ReplyDeleteThen I took an arrow to the knee...I mean, saw to the finger. =/
Oh, also, CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! I love you EqD. You've been very influential in my bronydom and I love you for it.
ReplyDeleteLong live EqD!!! I lurked for the longest time before I worked up the courage to embrace my Broniness and post my first comment. EqD helped me see how "Bronies" are more than just a fandom but a real community who truly try to Love and Tolerate everyone.
ReplyDeleteAll my bro-hoof to you,bro ! :D

@ClosetBrony err... everyPONY. ;)
ReplyDelete"Ahh, those were the days~"
ReplyDeleteI'll just leave this here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ulI-T0YxAw
Man I thought 50,000,000 was a big deal :o
ReplyDeleteNow I can't wait for the day we hit 1 billion..the internets gonna explode :O
Now let's see if we can 10x it by the end of the season
ReplyDeleteWay to go EQD!!!
ReplyDeleteJust wait until we get to January 19th! (or the 24th) Then we can celebrate a whole year! (And I joined the fandom in September. Completely oblivious to the show until July-ish.)
ReplyDeleteMan, it seems like forever since I joined the herd back in June. I think around that time, the site was around 30m views? I'm not so good with keeping track of time, but I do remember all the hoopla about the 30m view turnover.
ReplyDeleteNot even a full year since site launch, and already 100m. Next celebration, barring any ultra awesome surprises from the FiM team over at Studio B or Hasbro themselves, should be EqD's birthday in, what, 12 days is it? Yeah, that should be fun, too.
Aww... forgot the time for those of us in Hawaii. Would of been 5:23 on the 11th.
ReplyDelete@Sethisto Need to stop thinking small with numbers like 200 million. Try for a billion. 100 million in a year when everything was still getting started. If this keeps snowballing like it has, would not be surprised with over billion by this time next year.
EQD has reached a fantastic landmark of 100 million. *Raises a cupcake* Here's to millions of more hits to come!
ReplyDeleteA massive congratulations to Seth and everyone who works on the site :)
Congratulations EQD !!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I already said this somewhere else, but...
ReplyDeletefinal boss of the internet: 1,000,000,000 pageviews!!!
And then, we'll try to approximate the human population with the pageview number!
Anyways, big difference from last January. I remember when this site was competing with DerpyHooves.com for the blog niche in the community. Now, that blog is a virtual ghost town... Which is sad cuz it had some awesome features, like embedded episodes n' stuff.
i was here when it was 999999807 and then i left the computer said i will open it after 5 minutes but i forgot and missed it.......
ReplyDeletecongratz EQD
Yeah, I remember all last spring as Seth would slowly dial back just how many hits were needed for a new post because they were coming so fast. After a year or so, nine digits, bam, and that's just because the fandom wasn't nearly so big at this time last year. Here's to 200m before the year's out! :D
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!
ReplyDelete/)
I don't post very often, but for this occasion, I felt I should. This site has allowed the fandom to really come together and I think that it has really been a big part of how big the fandom has grown. No matter what else one may say, what has happened here is unprecedented and wonderful, and I would like to thank all of those who have kept this site up an running!
ReplyDeleteIs anypony else reminded of Groundhog Day by the huge digital clock?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, congratulations! Seth, you have truly created a site worth visiting. It's user-friendly, full of quality material, and ponies! You have gone above and beyond the typical brony standards to give us all the gift of Equestria Daily.
Onward!
Nice, 100 million. ^_^
ReplyDeleteSome inaccuracies with the original pictures, but overall, very nice!
ReplyDeleteI remember when EQD was at 17,000 views back in the early summer. Back when I was full of pony vigor.
ReplyDeleteNothing has changed.
That was a great essay at the end. You should all read it.
