[Friendshipping] Time for a massive holiday poem! We usually don't take poetry, but it totally hit, and exceeded, the word count requirement for a fanfic.

Description: "If you asked me if I liked ponies, I would say "Never!"Pony For Christmas (The Ballad of Pinkie Pie)
I couldn't have known my life would change forever.
This is a poem of how I slowly caved in
But also the adventure all bronies partake in."

Hm, I think I'll give it a read. I'm in the christmas-y spirit.
ReplyDeleteA pony for christmas would be nice, but I'm happy with my macbook
ReplyDeleteI remember the pic from that Drawfriend, seems interesting
ReplyDeleteOh cool!
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate a good long rhyming poem. I love rhyme wordplay.
Why in the hell does this have a single star after one rating. That is uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to sleep now, this is one story I don't need to catch up on.
ReplyDeleteDarkon shadows goes for his bed, soon he will wake up to piles of coal on his head.
It's a happy thing I say, for getting coal will definitely warm up my day. I'm sorry to santa hooves, clause and claws. I might be a brony, but you dare not overlook my glaringly obvious flaws.
Seth...imma muffin you right in the nose...
ReplyDeleteI just got over the notion i wont be gettin a pony for X-man...and then you JUST HAD to go and post this Celestia forsaken cwootsy wootsy Pinky Pie pic AGAIN...
You shall RUE the day! RUE i say!...well? start RUEING!!!!
@Brookwood Bronco
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the entire story yet, (holy crap, this is long) but I want you to know that it's amazing. Don't let the Scrooges and Parasprites get to you.
Oh, and Merry Christmas... Or Hearth's Warming Eve? I'm not sure about which you believe.
As a poet, I found this to be... worth 4 stars. It's a fairly original spin on a well-worn concept. He's not a bad poet at all. The verse creaks, but it never totally breaks.
ReplyDeleteThe rhyming verse can grate if you aren't used to it, but every now and then he'll pump out a coupe of pure gold that will leave you grinning and loving it all.
Recommended!
Because buried in there, he actually has constructed a story that's both worth telling and heartwarming. Merry Christmas!
;_;
ReplyDeleteDammit, now I'm going to start reading everything in rhyme. This will not do, this is a crime!
ReplyDelete... Sorry.
Anyway, this poem exploded my heart twice. Both for the D'AWW moments and that terrible fight. Glad in the end everything was alright. My five stars to counter that single, even though I was going to give it that originally! Good job!
Got jealous at first
ReplyDeleteI even started to curse
But after i did a little read
That this guy is my fav. Brony
Lol sorry, but i had to do it GOOD JOB ON THE POEM MAN!
That was really sweet. The thug part was really good because I can actually relate to it with my own Pinkie. The figure that is. A couple of guys at my school verbally attacked me and my friend for having MLP figures. And the ending made me cry :'3
ReplyDeleteSo....much...cute....*hrrrgh!*
ReplyDeletei read this weeks ago, its pure epic..it made me cry at the end..so sad.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the best things I have ever had the privilege of reading! So wonderfully cute!
ReplyDeleteGood god, that was amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow. That was very long and I finally just finished it. I am crying. I was crying reading that. But no matter, that means I loved it. It... was grand. Standing ovation from me, I doth decree. For this story I found to be quite merry. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's my new favorite poem.
Not a tear was shed
ReplyDeleteFrom my emotionless head
But I was quite moved
And my mind was quite soothed
This enjoyable rhyme
Was well worth my time
Thank you for writing
About ponies and fighting
I hope you write more
For your writing is not poor
It didn't make me cry
But now I want my own Pinkie Pie
It really was good,
ReplyDeletebut I'm not sure of the timing,
It seemed rather choppy,
But at least it kept rhyming.
Right it is then, to reply with a rhyme
ReplyDeleteThough, I found it quite odd,
there was only one scheme all the time
Truly, though, this is a poetic masterpiece
Homer would be so proud, he'd forgive the lease
For, it is hard to tell a story in such a way
I, personally, had only a tear for things to say
I like to think that I could be a good writer
However, this brings hope for my poetic attire
I've been known for a good rhyme without reason
Much more so than words to describe the seasons
Beautiful, simply beautiful. I feel as if the effect is increased since it was in poetry form. Very well done, don't pass this up!
ReplyDeleteThis made my Christmas eve... thanks for posting it... it deserved to be here for everyone to see =)
ReplyDeleteI was grinning like a filly the whole time. This made my break.
ReplyDeleteEverypony, go to his FiMfiction page
ReplyDeleteAnd leave rhymes there too, advice so sage.
We must show him that we care
And that the bronies are without compare.
I should write more couplets like this,
I'm just spittin' them out, all hit no miss!
Before I go, oh just look at the time!
I'd like to manage just one more rhyme.
A moment if you will for one final thing...
Merry Christmas to all, ring-a-ding-ding!
This story made me happy. : )
ReplyDeleteThis is true pony art.
This was interesting, maybe not the best;
ReplyDeleteHowever it was quite different from the rest.
For this poem followed a well concieved plot,
One in which I did enjoy quite a lot.
However, for I always do intervene
On a nice review, but please, not to be mean:
This poem was off beat, and I spotted some typos.
Not too much, but I think I should still note those.
Anyway, this was a fantastic poem!
'Twas good on all levels; quality did not roam.
I will rate this high, but won't say this is perfect.
Author, well done; I had fun. This was worth it!
Through reading this story.
ReplyDeleteLovely in it's way.
The Colonel's heart.
Grew three sizes that day.
That's weird, I didn't have tears in my eyes 5 minutes ago....
ReplyDeleteThat was a good poem! Really good!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this story. I can't believe I forgot to leave a comment. A bit of a bittersweet ending, but well worth it!
ReplyDeleteHmm... This is the only "story" I've read on EQD that I'm not going to rate.
ReplyDeleteI'm just not sure what to think of it.
As a poem, it's average.
As a story the plot was not very good.
But as far as an overall piece used to convey ideas and emotions it was not bad.
If there was a 2.5 rating here like FimFiction I would use it, but as it stands I neither like nor dislike it so I'll leave it unrated here.
Pinkie under my tree!! Finally my Christmas wishes are really coming true!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteIpdate?
ReplyDeleteIf I get a pony for Christmas
ReplyDeleteOh, how happy I'll be!
I'd love to find a pony for Christmas
Under my Christmas tree!
Every night, I dream about her!
She's the only one that I adore!
So if I get a pony for Christmas
I won't ask for anything more!
I'll brush her till she shines and sparkles!
And her saddle will be the best!
I'll give her lotsa pretty ribbons!
She'll be special, not like the rest!
If I get a pony for Christmas
Oh, how happy I'll be!
I'd love to find a pony for Christmas
Under my Christmas tree!
Every night, I dream about her!
She's the only one that I adore!
So if I get a pony for Christmas
I won't ask for anything more!
She'll show me all her fancy dances!
She'll tell her secrets just to me!
And though I know we're kinda tiny
We'll grow up eventually!
If I get a pony for Christmas
Oh, how happy I'll be!
I'd love to find a pony for Christmas
Under my Christmas tree!
Every night, I dream about her!
She's the only one that I adore!
So if I get a pony for Christmas
I won't ask for anything more!
I won't ask for anything more!
