I'm liking these newer PMV's lately. I remember when Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom to _____ theme was pretty much the extent of what was posted here. It's still hard to beat the old "Epic 7 Artist" one. That's just a straight up classic. In fact, I'm embedding that after the break too for all the newbs out there.
That second one is more of a PMV/YTPMV/Music Hybrid, I wasn't really sure where to put it.
1.) Lights [PMV]
2.) Easy Feeds Flowers Ground
3.) My Little Pony AMV Epic (7 Artists)

Im guessing that blank should say "Guile's"
ReplyDeleteMore music.
ReplyDeleteI shall listen.
Oh hey, I remember that 7 artist one, I had almost forgotten about it.
ReplyDeleteWow, #1's amazing. Good song(just wishing it hadn't turned into Dubstep part way through) and excellent scene selection.
ReplyDelete@Celestia yeah, me too
ReplyDeleteIf number three wasn't a classic, i'd say that number one was the best. That's quite a good one for this post!!
ReplyDeleteEasy Feeds Flowers Ground? Okay.....
Two Carrots Celery Care Two Carrots Clear the Flowers? Okay..... But then at 1:51......O YEAH!!!
#2 Man, this, "Easy," person sounds like a real jerk. /bad joke
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, it's a catchy song. It got fairly repetitive, but that's what the sog was supposed to be(the reuse of audioclips to create a good beat/song).
I love UnanimousDeliver's stuff.
ReplyDeleteAlso, DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS
Ah, embedded that video and linked it, Seth? Well, it's certainly deserving, that's a great one! Heh, Rainbow singing I Kissed a Girl... so fitting.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I remember when #3 first came out. Might still be my favorite PMV ever.
ReplyDeleteLights was awesome!
ReplyDeleteImperial Guard applejack? YES
ReplyDeleteIt was actually that epic PMV that made me interested in Ponies lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, the videos have definitely gotten more complex and spiffy over the months. More video editors making the scene and people are improving their editing skills. I remember that third one. Seems so old by this communities age. I also love that song in it. :) The first too I rather liked as well.
ReplyDelete@Tonzog Not the speaker button!
ReplyDeleteOk, so was the song in number 3 original, or is it Girl Talk?
ReplyDeleteSCOOTALOO is best pony.
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteI liked it being to "Taskmaster's" theme myself
Wow, that epic AMV looks so simple compared to everything that's out now. I'm not saying its bad, because its still one of my favorite PMVs out there, but the effects are so minimal. It's just voice synching. All the editors have moved up to after effects now.
ReplyDeleteThat first one was... impressive. Wow.
ReplyDeleteGod, that third one is old. Thanks for reminding us about it.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is nice. Loved the part with Flutterguy XD
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile when the 3rd pmv was originally released...
ReplyDeleteWait I can't seem to find the original post. Did it take an arrow to the knee?
Or am I just being lazy because I took an arrow to the knee?
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteNo, it's supposed to say "Meet the Medic's"
The third video came out a few days before I watched my first episode of FiM.
ReplyDeleteI watched it quite a lot over the month of March, which I spent living in someone's house because my family were homeless at for that month (the landlords can burn in the Sun for that, their eviction wasn't even legal). Still, during March, I pretty much relied on the fanbase and the show to keep me cheerful. EqD was brilliant back then, yet so simple!
Looking at EqD now, and it is even better!
I wish #1 used the whole song. But it still gets awesome points for using the Eyes remix.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm already getting nostalgia from ponies, but oh man that Epic 7 video brings me back. It's still one of the best PMV's I've seen too.
ReplyDeleteThat last one was an awesome mashup in its own right! Ponies of course made it better!
ReplyDeleteSongs are good though I still have to wonder how Applejack got her hands on a Leman Russ, is she a commissar O_O
ReplyDeleteAh, nostalgia
ReplyDeleteI was about to say something against the "Sonic Rainboom set to ____ theme" remark Sethisto made.
ReplyDelete...Then I remembered what the first YT video I ever made was and promptly shut up. *resumes doing so and goes to check out the videos*
3rd one was from such a long time ago. In fact, it was one of the first pony videos I watched, which lead me to Art of the Dress which is actually why I watched that episode, and then back to the front to watch the rest. Which was only one episode before the Gala. I was a late brony~
ReplyDeleteThe second one starts a bit slow, but makes up for it and more. It's one of my favorite PMVs of the month (and original tracks as well).
ReplyDeleteThe first one was good (agree with the expecting it to drop into dubstep instead of end at 2 min), and the third one is as enjoyable now as it ever was.
I'm just not feeling most of these over-complex and effects heavy PMVs we get these days. To me it usually just distracts from what I look for in these videos, which is to see the scenes I love from the series set to music in a skillful and purposeful way that provokes an emotional response. I'd like to see more simple and straightforward but awesome PMVs like "Golden Age of Pony" and "Today is Gonna Be a Great Day Pony".

I was never really a huge fan of the Epic.
ReplyDeleteProbably because Katy Perry/Rainbow Dash annoys the crap out of me.
The third one is one of the first PMVs I saw, and is still the one I think was best done. Special effects and weird video editing and other stuff is just... not that impressive to me. Finding good clips that work well, fitting them together, and having the mouths be synced with the words? Always good, always will be, and much much more impressive.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, what does the Leman Russ have to do with this article?
ReplyDeleteRarity and Ellie Goulding just go together perfectly.
ReplyDeletethe moment #1 turned dubstep i stopped it and moved to #2 which i liked, however it did seem typical of the common type of PMV's today, not to say thats a bad thing. #3 was... well i can only say wow with many different meanings.
ReplyDeletei also wonder how Applejack obtained a Cadien Leman Russ Battle Tank. Commissar Applejack wants to be driven closer so she can buck you in the face.
the last one 3 is how i got here
ReplyDeleteWait... when was #3 posted for the first time (here)? I think I remember seeing it when I had just found about this place, but although I don't consider myself a 'newb', I still don't think I'm one of the old guards.
ReplyDeleteThe 7 Artist one is the very first MLP thing I ever saw, before I joined the fandom. It's partially responsible for my being here.
ReplyDeleteI'll always love that PMV.
Anybody got a link to the My Little Pony AMV Epic (7 Artists) that is not censored in Germany?
ReplyDelete#1 I liked this one, not exactly my type of music but its still good.
ReplyDelete#2 ...meh, not a fan of these mash together things.
#3 I like the song and the video was really good, this was my favorite of the three. I was surprised to find out that the video was actually fairly old though, could someone post the original date it was made? I want to know how long I've been out of it.
1. Excellent editing.
ReplyDelete2. Really catchy.
3. A real classic.
Ah, yes. The Epic AMV. That was back before the term "PMV" came into common parlance.
ReplyDeleteSaw that second one.
ReplyDeleteEPIC.
Original posting of Epic 7 Artists was February 15, 2011. My how we've grown since then: that post has only 21 comments as of this post.
ReplyDelete"My Little Pony AMV Epic (7 Artists)" has been hit with a copyright claim from Hasbro! The video is no longer available. In other words the video is no longer with us. *sad face*.
ReplyDelete@CelestiaI really liked that one to but in the past three days after this posting Hasbro hit the video with a copyright claim. The video is gone and after looking isn't on youtube elsewhere, its dead.

ReplyDeleteHey sorry to post like this but I find this to be particularly important and upsetting. Like many of you "My Little Pony AMV Epic (7 Artists)" is one of the first PMVs Ive ever seen and it really holds even by todays PMVs, truly a classic. However the time of that this thread started by Sethisto the PMV has been hit with a copyright claim from Hasbro and is no longer available. Personally this makes me real mad as it was one of my favorites and I'm very sad to see it go. If any person, pony, brony, whatever feels the same, knows where else to watch it, or knows what can be done about the original please let me know.
Please somepony tell me that you downloaded #3
ReplyDeleteIf you ask me, #1 should be in the next top 10. In the number one spot preferably. Amazing PMV!
