Over on her Twitter Page, Shannon Chan-Kent recently threw this tweet up. I'm sure its not too surprising, but it looks like we have a Holiday/Christmas song on the horizon.
Can it top Winter Wrap Up?! Judging by what we have seen so far this season, I have a feeling it will!
Check out her page here!
Thanks to Tanner for the heads up!

ReplyDeleteFINALLY
ReplyDeleteʸᵃʸ!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so gonna remix this one...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait, I'm so excited! I love Pinkie's singing so much <3
ReplyDeleteAww Yeah. :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!!!! Christmas songs rock!!!!
ReplyDeleteyay
ReplyDelete"Today" implies she could be recording that for season 3.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, but if it's something done "today" for her, then surely it's something they're recording for season three... That makes for a long wait.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think I was wrong though. Not sure how they'd still be recording something for this Christmas when its less than 3 weeks away.
yeah, this could be season 3 stuff, guys.
ReplyDeleteSO GOOOOOODDD!!
ReplyDelete@Solarsail: Shhhh! Don't take away the optimism. Let us all get lost in the fantasy.
ReplyDeleteRight, something relevant. I think this is going to be the very first Christmas song I'll actually enjoy. Hooray more songs.
another pinkie pie song?!? YAY
ReplyDeletethe only differance between winter wrap up and a xmas song is the inability to listen to it year round.....LOL but still a new song WOOT
ReplyDeleteholy guacamole! she lives in my city!?
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a New Years episode this year, not a christmas one.
ReplyDeleteGuess next year we'll get a christmas one.
Gotta say, the songs make this show 20% cooler.
ReplyDelete@Harwick
ReplyDeleteI specifically recall the work-load for Studio B to be very fluid and to the punch. I doubt this is for Season 3 simply because of how quickly these guys work. You heard it from themselves. They plan episodes before seasons, but they don't work on most of them until the season starts.
Yeah, it's gotta be Season 3 if she's only recording it just now. Still awesome to hear!
ReplyDeleteGreat, I have something to look forward to. I love Pinkie's singing.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not for the show, it could be for some kind of HUB holiday promo.
ReplyDelete@smokeydops2
ReplyDeleteActually, they said it takes about a year for any given episode to go from the planning stages to airdate - they typically complete production on an episode a month or so before it actually airs. Other VAs on the show mentioned that they're in the midst of Season 3 recording currently, so her tweet falls in line with that.
Uumm... Was it really THAT surprising for you all, that we get a "warming eve" song and that Pinkie was in it?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I can't wait to see the detailed version of "Teacher for a day". ^^
ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it's possible this song is the leaked Pinkie Pie song. I could imagine that song fitting in a Hearthswarming Eve episode, especially if things aren't going as planned, and everypony needs to be cheered up.
ReplyDeletePraise the Immortal Empresses!
ReplyDelete@ponydoraprancypants
ReplyDeleteShe implies that this is something she's just now recording, so it must be a different song.
SO
ReplyDeleteMUCH
YES
:DDDDDDDDDDDDD
ReplyDeleteFUCK YEAH!
ReplyDeleteBut wait, what if it's just a random, minute-long Pinkie song!?! I was hoping for something more like At The Gala or Winter Wrap Up.
ReplyDeleteYesyesyesyesyesYES!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet some way somehow this will be an amazing song
ReplyDeleteWooooooooo woooooooooooo woooooooooooo woooooooooo
ReplyDeleteThese guys do nothing but step up every single freaking week, and I've no doubt that this song will give me just as many goosebumps as the last two.
ReplyDeleteAlso a nice shot of Ashleigh Ball in Shannon's next tweet: http://yfrog.com/nz7qdfaj
ReplyDeleteMy face. It keeps smiling!
ReplyDeleteyay~
ReplyDeleteI was going to be disappoint if there wasn't one
I agree with the other comments that is probably for season 3. Oh well. Still something to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteEeeeeeeeeeeYES !
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was really suspecting there would be a Christmas episode.
ReplyDeleteHearth's Warming Eve is one week before Christmas... the next weeks episode will be the day before Christmas.
And that episode is just the "Eve" episode; so what exactly is "Hearth's Warming"?
Ever since I read that leaked episode premise I felt pretty sure there was going to be a Christmas episode, in much the same way Nightmare Night was a Halloween episode.
Hearth's Warming Eve probably is the Christmas Episode you know. If there was one planned on Christmas Eve or Day, we would know of it by now.
ReplyDeleteLikewise, don't expect anything on New Years either.
Pinkie Pie + Christmas + MLP song.
ReplyDeleteSweet Jesus.
Though I assume that means this year's episode is going to be a New Year's one. Which makes sense, now that you think about it :P
*shits bricks*
ReplyDeleteinb4 Smile Smile Smile
ReplyDeleteDude, Pinkie Pie singing? Could this be the "Smile Smile Smile" episode?
ReplyDeleteWell, since it's the Christmas one, that's unlikely, but STILL, it could be. (But it's probably not. (BUT STILL))
How did anyone NOT notice this word...
ReplyDelete"'ANOTHER' MLP song..."
Pinkie Pie hasn't sung anything in Season Two, so we can expect her to sing in 2 or more songs in the future! :D
@Criminal9021
ReplyDeleteWell we already knew about one Pinkie song this season.
YES. PINKIE PIE!
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 recording people, don't get too excited.
ReplyDeleteHm. I am putting my money on the Smile Smile Smile song airing on the Hearth's Warming eve episode, this tweet is talking about a Hub promo they're going to air the week before Christmas, and there will be NO new episode on Christmas Eve. These are my predictions.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGreat, going back to the roots (my first ever favorouite pony music was Giggle at the Ghosties, let's see if this one will top Rarity's gorgeous Becoming Popular!
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of people mentioning the Smile Smile Smile song. lol Of course any songs for the upcoming episodes have long been recorded. But we shall see what songs show up on the horizon. :)
ReplyDeleteYaY! :D
ReplyDeleteMOAR PINKIE TO THE PEOPLE!
ReplyDeleteAnd can't wait for Heart's Warming Eve episode
In her next tweet she has a picture of Ashleigh Ball in recording. I hope that means that Ashleigh's voice has recovered.
ReplyDelete@mattwhite924
ReplyDeleteAshleigh mentioned in a tweet back in November that her voice got better. She's been performing regularly with Hey Ocean since then.
Before everyone goes crazy over this, keep in mind that voices are recorded WAAAAY before the episode premieres, so this is very likely a season 3 episode song, NOT one that's playing this year, or any time soon.
ReplyDeleteCould it be for some sort of promo, not an episode? Like some sort of HUB commercial or something?
ReplyDelete@mrjoshmacintosh
ReplyDeleteGood point. Could be! :)
I need more Pinkie pie.
ReplyDelete@mcpaterson
ReplyDeleteThe world needs more Pinkie Pie, especially at Christmas.
@Beatfox
ReplyDeleteExcellent correction!
These next few episodes are not gonna come fast enough for me. But for stuff I like, I have an amazing amount of patience.
ReplyDelete@Beatfox
ReplyDeleteCool, I wasn't aware of that. I'm glad to hear she got better.
No doubt this is for season three, which is awesome. Also, it's encouraging to see Ashleigh in one of SCK's photos, which indicates that she has overcome her vocal cord injury. Awesome news all around.
ReplyDeleteYou know, this could very well be for season 3.
ReplyDeleteAnd it could also be the leaked song.
Anway, new MLP FiM songs are always great.
THIS TOTALLY MEANS ITS FOR THE UPCOMING EP AND I WILL FANRAGE SO HARD IF HASBRO DOESN'T FULFILL THIS COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE EXPECTATION OF MINE.
ReplyDeleteAWWWWW YEEEEEEAHH
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear it. If it involves Pinkie Pie i'm sure it'll be awesome
ReplyDeleteI never wrote an e-mail faster than this one. :P
ReplyDeleteI can't watch Winter Wrap-up without getting Diabetes. Can this top that?
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 or the fabled soundtrack. Definitely not this season's holiday episode.
ReplyDeleteDoes she have a FaceBook account?!
ReplyDelete...Anyway, yay! Pinkie Pie singing! I can see this sing becoming a Christmas regular, and I haven't even heard it yet!
I knew this already so its old news to me cause I knew about the christmas ep before anyone else knew about the christmas ep so I can say this, HA HA I can pin this and the christmas episode and no I'm not being a grinch about it either
ReplyDelete@Solarsail
ReplyDeleteNever listened to the unofficial leaked song and never will until it is officially released/on the show, so I'm going to disregard its existence until then.
If it's written as well and performed as wonderfully as Rarity's "Becoming Popular", then I'm extremely excited for this song. Whoever is coming up with the music is extremely talented! Great work!
ReplyDeleteWtf is Xmas?
ReplyDeleteIsn't it supposed to be Christmas?
I dislike the butchering of the name inside the name(wat)
Voices and songs are recorded before animation is done, and Top Draw started Production for Season 2 in April of this year.
ReplyDeleteBecause this is a brand new song, my bet is that we'll see a Christmas-themed episode for Season 3.
@KWA
ReplyDelete"X" is the Greek letter "chi", the first letter of the Greek word for Christ. It's been used to abbreviate Christmas for a very, very long time.
C'MON EVERYPONY
ReplyDeleteSMILE
SMILE
SMILE
YES!!! YES!!!
ReplyDeleteDude, I dunno'... Winter Wrap Up is, hands down, my favorite official MLP song. It'll take something pretty insanely awesome to beat it in my mind. The two songs we've gotten so far in S2, while both pretty amazing, don't even come close to knocking Winter Wrap Up off the pedestal I've put it on.
ReplyDeleteBEST NEWS EVER
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
