The My Little Musical project has been in progress for quite a while now! They have finally released their first single, that does a good job of showing off all of their singers, at least for the mane cast.
Check it out after the break, or hit up their tumblr page for more information on it!

Nice, been waiting for this
ReplyDeleteA... Musical? DAFUQ?
ReplyDeleteif they use this in an episode, that would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteForget what I said.
ReplyDeleteThis is very well done, I can't wait for the rest of the project. But that Fluttershy sounded a lot like Derpy from the Doctor Whooves things... OMG, that's because it is!
ReplyDeleteI cannot express how amazed I am in words... So I MUST DANCE!
ReplyDeleteat first was annoyed at how off they sounded from the original, then thought about how this is a musical, and these sound more like voices I would hear in a musical like Wicked. A voice like RD's normal singing would sound out of place in a musical.
ReplyDeleteEes gud.
ReplyDeleteNot too bad!! Excelent!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I'm impressed... and I thought many of those voices were really good matches.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Rainbow Dashes voice sounded a bit rough but thats probably cause it was meant to. She is a rough and tumble pony just like Applejack :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like it. What a nice uplifting piece. Singing was good too. Some of them can really hit those higher notes pretty well it seems. I look forward to hearing more from this project.
ReplyDeleteaww... missed the shot for the 6 part harmony at the end. But overall, seemed right.
ReplyDeleteThe line about spitting in the face of villains doesn't seem very MLP though...
really good, but twilights voice wasnt the best fit.
ReplyDeletealso,
i came.
Holy crap that have great singers, the lyrics are well done too. This makes me really excited about the whole musical
ReplyDeleteSome of the voices were a bit off, but overall that was extremely well done.
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note, this somehow reminded me of the "Litany Against Fear."
ReplyDelete[overanalysis]
When you think about it, you are usually alone when reciting the Litany ("where the fear has gone there will be nothing, only I will remain."), whereas in FiM, coping and managing fear is a communal experience.
Leto II vs. Celestia, Arrakis vs. Equestria, Militarism vs. Peaceful Disposition, Hydraulic Empire vs. Simple everyday life... and still Celestia seems to rule Equestria with a monarchic theocracy, similar to Leto II.
Ms. Faust, is the whole show an intentional subversion of Frank Herbert's Dune?
[/overanalysis]
Dang, lack of sleep is acting up again.
@DeftCrow
ReplyDeleteActually I'm pretty sure the whole show is about ponies.
Twilight sounded different, but that's not inexcusable. Liberties can be taken.
ReplyDeleteRainbow Dash I didn't really like here. Not only did it sound different to the point of not even being recognizable as that character, but the singing also didn't impress me.
Once or twice I heard voices straining to hit some of those notes and a few of the lyrics were a bit weird. The song could probably be tweaked a bit.
Overall though, splendid work. Sounded very much like a broadway production. On a scale of 1-Wicked, I would probably score this an 8.
I can't wait until Rebecca, Shannon, Ashleigh, Kazumi, and Andrea all sing together again on the show. The four-part harmony at the end of At The Gala was awesome.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Looking forward to this.

ReplyDeleteGoosebumps all over the place,
It's Wonderful!
@DJGaugen The singing is really good.
ReplyDeleteA musical...oh dear this is probably going to be horri......mother of god....this. is. amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it was just because I'm sitting by the window or not, but, I got chills when twilight started singing ;D
ReplyDeleteThis is really good so far, but fluttershy, dash and AJ are a little hard to hear when all 6 are singing
Holy hell--this is great. I wish I had money to throw at the screen. :l
ReplyDeleterarity is best singer. i really like her voice.
ReplyDeleteWow, that Rarity singer. @_@ Fantastic. They all sound like the show VAs, except for Twilight, and that's okay, because she's got a great voice nevertheless! I'm looking forward to this musical now. :D
ReplyDeleteRarity is best singer. All mane 6 is best singers.
ReplyDeletethat was simply great

ReplyDeleteThe voices for Fluttershy and Pinkie are really spot on.
ReplyDeleteGood night every pony this one took down the house. It was better than awesome! Can't wait to hear more!
ReplyDeleteThat was great. Beautiful singing and a great song. I think Twilight sounds better then her actual VA too. Can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteI can forgive the differences in how the actors sound (granted Rarity and Apple Jack sound way too similar), but I feel the lyrics don't always fit the character's personality and speech habits.
ReplyDeleteTwo examples that spring immediately to mind:
- Twilight using the word "dear" in "So come on, dear, you can conquer your fear". I think this is much more the domain of Rarity and even she would likely use the word "deary".
- Rarity singing "We must face the world, spit in the face of villains". This doesn't even really fit the normal speech style of the show, much less Rarity, who would deem the act of spitting in someone's face horrendously uncouth.
Epic Scale, I can feel it!
ReplyDelete..................
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.
WOW. I am just blown away. That is all.
is it just me or does pinkie pie sound like sweetie bell at the start?
