As before, I will never doubt that Notch is an asshole who got fame by doing one good thing. ONE.
But oh well, that's 8500 bucks for charity, the people who matter still win!
...UNLESS NOTCH DIDN'T DONATE TO CHARITY AND JUST DONATED TO THE DEVELOPERS AND/OR THE HUMBLE BUNDLE TIP, WHICH WOULD FUCKING BURN ME UP SO MUCH I'D THROW A MACHETE AT- *deep breath* That's enough for me.
@Adrian Brony Gah! You beat me to it on the time. As you said, 20 hours left, so there's still time to take action. I know, ultimately this is about supporting a great cause. No matter who comes out on top, we should be glad we gave. BUT WE STILL GOTTA TRY TO COME OUT ON TOP!!
Ok, we need 150 bronies (including myself) to but the indie pack for $20. It gets us up to $10,000 last minute, and hey, $20 for a dozen games. that's an amazing deal right there. DO IT! I DON'T WANT NOTCH TO WIN!
@naahdude Oh of course they do. But I'd rather give my money to a child who hasn't the money to even play games than a developer who makes bank off of his/her/their creation already, in addition to other sources of income.
Dudes, we can just donate. There's twenty hours left, and if we can just run up a bit more cash, then we'll beat out Notch.
Come on, dudes. This is like... a contest. A contest that no matter which side loses, everyone totally wins. Get those competitive bones in your body up and ready or something.
@Miss Rarity Of course it's about donating to charity/HIB/indie developers.
But you're missing the point.
If Notch turns it into a competitive thing, if we reciprocate, the only thing that will happen is that more donations will flood in (possibly on both sides) in an effort to one-up each other.
Thus the
Making charities into competitions is one of the best ways to actually get people to donate. It turns it into a game, and there's literally no downside to this.
I'm actually pretty good with Notch donating this. After all, another 8000 into the HIB is awesome. But any effort to outdo him will just result in more money flowing into it.
@louster200 No, you can donate through Paypal at the Humble Brony Bundle website. It's the big "Donate" button on the top right of the page. It'll just count as your own personal donation if you do it through HIB itself. Which is cool, but if you wanna contribute to HBB, then do it through there.
ok, just found out why their is a time limit, everybody go to http://humblebronybundle.blogspot.com/ and donate. Also, where is Cupcakes, we need him updating the donation amount minute by minute
Meh, It IS all still going to charity, So this is a good thing.
But...
Let's take just a moment to congratulate ourselves here my fellow Colts, Mares, and fillies alike. Notch may have very well beaten us in the donation amount. But I say when thousands of individual come together and donate what they can, however much they can. That's what this is all about, So some big shot came and one-upped us... We are legion my dear bronies, it's what's in the heart that counts. Not everypony can donate 8k to a charity, but our numbers and kindness will ALWAYS win no matter the case. Seeing how many of you all donated is what makes me proud to be a part of this community, Not how much money we raised. Don't ever let competition cloud our creed, You all are what keeps this fandom alive.
Remember, just because it seems like life is some sort of mission or test, never forget the power of love and kindness my friends.
Celestia/God/-insert your deity here- bless you all <3
I hoped he would have done this earlier so that we could have gotten a good back and forth competition going. This is still a good thing though, Notch usually doesn't give this much, so us giving got him to give more as well. Win-win for everybody.
Already another 850? Awesome. Especially since this has been up for only like... half an hour. Double the current amount donated, and we'll exceed Notch's current contribution.
And hell, first, second, whatever place we end up - we can still claim credit to his sizeable donation due to *our* combined efforts from raising the bar so high to begin with.
Not that we're content with letting Notch think he's gotten away with it, nosir!
Today I learned a great lesson about not letting competition blocking out the big picture of the cause. At a time where everypony is donating to charities and bettering the world, and coming together for a common cause, it's wrong to consider out standings as a contest.
We may have lost our top place in largest donation, but when you have bronies and friends alike who all realize how much better some people's lives are going to be because of us coming together and making a difference, then in a way, we've beaten anypony else.
to anyone that thinks we shouldnt compete with notch, i say this is what compitition is for. People might think compitition is degrading or immature, but this is a compitition of charity (and braging rights). This is the kind of compitition that could only result in a good thing and just because it's a win-win situation doesnt mean we shouldn't try.
Things are going so fast now! I need to send another payment to the Humble Indie Bundle right now; we're less than $500 away from catching up!
You guys are doing an awesome job! :D
And to clarify: The $9203 is across BOTH Bundles, not this one. As in, we've raised $9203 in the last 5 weeks, but we're still needing more funds to hit the top contributor spot on this Bundle, and thus top contribution of all time. So, keep it up guys!!
I just put 20 bucks in. Normally I donate things like can food but I felt winning this charity war was important for us as a community. Well played Notch but I think we got it.
At this point, it comes down to one thing, I think; is it more important that we get the top spot, or that we help raise the most possible money for this charitable cause?
I'm guessing that, at this early hour and with over half a day left on the clock to donate, that Cupcakes Nom is in bed like most normal people. (Not that I'm implying that he, or any of us, is normal. Just that this is when normal people are asleep. =P ) So, a donation update probably won't be happening for another handful of hours. If we want the top spot, we'll hold onto what we have, and keep that amount secret up until as late as we can safely wait before sending in an update, making it harder for notch or anyone else to know what the total to beat is.
On the other hand, if we want to promote the spirit of giving and give things a chance to escalate during the final hours, we should update our total early and often. I've already given what I can afford, as I imagine many others also have, so I don't know if we could keep things going. But then again, if the last few hours are any indication...
Either way, I'm proud to be part of a fanbase that is willing to come together like this, especially when so many of us are likely burned out from the stress of the season, and also quite likely with very little money available to give due to buying gifts for family and friends. That even with those kind of hurdles to overcome, that we still have managed to gather together so many donations... Again, I'm damn proud to be able to consider myself a Brony.
notch is a troll. he claimed(on twitter) is doing that to compete with us and have us beat him for charity.why the hell did he donate at 19 hours left then? ther's no enough time :V. what if someone *casually* drop the humble brony bundle link to Faust twitter, daniel ingram facebook and other voice actors facebook? i can't even set up a postepay in 12 hours left è-è
Well, guys, it looks like Notch is going to have a new favorite cartoon thanks to all of you... :D http://humblebronybundle.blogspot.com/2011/12/notch-to-watch-my-little-pony.html
So ponies, dare we try for the 10k mark? I think we can make it and showing that were such fine giving ponies would be a blast. ^^ Plus lets face it, 10k makes for a happy round number, and who doesn't love happy round numbers.
He's going to watch a "few" episodes of MLP? Yeah, we all know how that's going to end!
Anyway, I still think he could have given a lot more. It feels like he's trying to encourage others to donate more. Or perhaps he just needed an excuse to start watching ponies... I won't feel bad if he suddenly drops a lot more money into it, it is a charity after all, not a competition.
You guys. I freaking love you guys. NOT EVEN 24 HOURS after the call is made, and we more than double ourselves up. If the fandom can find a way to wrangle up about another $3,000, we can more than double Notch himself.
7 hours ago i said " bronies will never do it in 12 hours". load the page. 14k. now i want the pic with notch screaming it's over 14 thousand like vegeta >_>
Wow, this all happened while I was asleep, this... is incredible. Double the initial donation, so awesome.
I do have to ponder though whenever it was a damn lot of bronies, or one major donation that brought the amount to such an excessive amount. Either way, that's amazing.
I hate the fact LOL made equestria daily take down that article on best wiki of 2011 poll im sure some bronys did not even get to see it....o well looks like we have one win:)
Notch is such a badass, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to pitch in anonymously into the brony bundle as well. Considering he said he's also a fan.

ReplyDeleteconsarnit notch! this is almost enough to drop my minecraft account. almost.
ReplyDeleteDon't we have a little bit for emergencies? Second is nice too, either way.
ReplyDeleteSniped! haha... But hey, good thing, right? All that money.
ReplyDeleteI thought it said on the Humble Brony page that we donated over $8000 D:
ReplyDeleteThe troll. I swear, he did it all to troll us. Curse you, Notch the platypus!
ReplyDeleteJK, I love Minecraft. But still...
It seems like he...
ReplyDelete*Puts on sunglasses*
Kicked it up a notch.
*~Yay~*
Do will still have time to counter attack?
ReplyDeleteREADY THE ORBITAL FRIENDSHIP CANNONS
I'd actually say notch isn't donating enough. He must have a LOT of profit from Minecraft sales, even after sharing with the other developers!
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/59_7-glni0A
ReplyDeleteCharge?
ReplyDeleteThis is a good thing i mean even if he was trolling im happy to see the money that will be going to CHARITY
ReplyDeleteYou know, trolling with charity just make me laugh, well played Notch, well played. XD
ReplyDeletefffffff-
ReplyDeleteON TO $10,000!
ReplyDeleteaww well IT'S ALL GOING TO CHARITY :D
ReplyDeleteJoke's on him. I didn't even pay for my Minecraft account. My friend gave me his! ok...that's not good revenge...
ReplyDeleteThis is madness!! This Is SPARTA!!!!!11
ReplyDeleteThat magnificent, kind-hearted, BASTARD.
ReplyDeleteThere is still 20 hours left.
ReplyDeleteAs before, I will never doubt that Notch is an asshole who got fame by doing one good thing. ONE.

*deep breath*
That's enough for me.
@Luhood the Zebrony
ReplyDeleteThat was hilarious
Why couldn't Notch assume that he's a brony once and for all so BronyHouble could finally win this?
ReplyDelete@Adrian Brony Gah! You beat me to it on the time. As you said, 20 hours left, so there's still time to take action. I know, ultimately this is about supporting a great cause. No matter who comes out on top, we should be glad we gave. BUT WE STILL GOTTA TRY TO COME OUT ON TOP!!
ReplyDeleteOk with some fast math if 300 people donate 5$ bronies can still beat Notch. But wait to update the amount on the last minute this time.
ReplyDeleteDayum. lol That must have been a quick and strong last minute surge. There's still some time left too though.
ReplyDeleteYou guys seriously can't be mad at him for donating a shit ton amount to charity?! Hey! It just means we gotta donate MORE!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, we need 150 bronies (including myself) to but the indie pack for $20. It gets us up to $10,000 last minute, and hey, $20 for a dozen games. that's an amazing deal right there. DO IT! I DON'T WANT NOTCH TO WIN!
ReplyDeleteSecond place isn't bad but there is still 20 hours left. I wonder if the we close the gap before it all ends.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best kind of competition!
ReplyDeleteCurrently the humblebrony reads at round $8,200, WE CAN TOTALLY MAKE IT GOOOOOO! I even donated!
ReplyDeleteHow DARE Notch donate to charity.
ReplyDeleteThis was all about winning a competition, not about actually helping with a charitable cause.
Right guys?
@Jebediah Oldenheimer
ReplyDeleteAnd what? The developers/humble bundle don't deserve some money too?
How long do we have to still donate? What timezone is the humble brony bundle and indie bundle running on?
ReplyDelete@naahdude
ReplyDeleteOh of course they do.
But I'd rather give my money to a child who hasn't the money to even play games than a developer who makes bank off of his/her/their creation already, in addition to other sources of income.
@Theokid
ReplyDeleteThat also includes money from the last bundle.
Dudes, we can just donate. There's twenty hours left, and if we can just run up a bit more cash, then we'll beat out Notch.
ReplyDeleteCome on, dudes. This is like... a contest. A contest that no matter which side loses, everyone totally wins. Get those competitive bones in your body up and ready or something.
@Miss Rarity EXACTLY!!
ReplyDeleteCHARRGEE.
(Think of it this way, if we get the bronies all riled up they'll donate more. More money for charity and the developers in the long run.)
We need to donate ... OVER 9000!!!
ReplyDelete@Bronyhub http://www.humblebundle.com/
ReplyDeleteThe website itself has a countdown timer, 20 hours 38 minutes as of typing, does not matter what timezone.
sucks to be sniped all of a sudden, but it's good to see so much being donated like this
ReplyDelete@Miss Rarity
ReplyDeleteOf course it's about donating to charity/HIB/indie developers.

ReplyDeletei'm confused, what is this whole 20 hors left thing, why is their some sort of time limit? Cant we just overtake him anytime?
ReplyDeleteWell then we'll just have to give MORE MONEY AWAY! Muhahahahah yes, if notch wants a race he'll get a bucking a race!
ReplyDeletejust donated some more, we have to beat notch
ReplyDeleteDigging deep, -aHA some money left.
ReplyDeletetime to join the CHAAARGE!
On the page, under the "Can we make your contribution blah blah blah", should I put "@HumbleBrony Bundle"?
ReplyDeleteSuch a good game, such a terrible person........... Darn you to hay, Notch.
ReplyDeleteGAHHHH. THAT'S MORE THAN WHAT THE BRONY BUNDLE CURRENTLY HAS! WE MUST DONATE MORE TO DEFEAT HIM! FOR THE GOOD OF THE WORLD!
ReplyDeleteOn a different note, Notch trying to beat us is awesome. That's a lot of money donated right there.
Damn you, Notch! Damn you and your charity!
ReplyDelete@I Put On My Thinking Cap That's truw, but Humble Brony only donates 60% to charity.
ReplyDelete@louster200
ReplyDeleteNo, you can donate through Paypal at the Humble Brony Bundle website. It's the big "Donate" button on the top right of the page. It'll just count as your own personal donation if you do it through HIB itself. Which is cool, but if you wanna contribute to HBB, then do it through there.
@Altercation
ReplyDeleteWell crap! I want this through the HBB. Made it personal, though. Poop.
Final Day: 17 Hours Remain Tick... Tock...
ReplyDelete@HumbleBrony has already jumped up $850.00 since this update.
ReplyDeleteBronies, we cannot allow Notch to beat us. We have the power. We can defeat the king of Minecraft. We must dontate more to defeat this man!
ReplyDeletewho wants to bet that notch is watching this page going "Dance puppets dance"?
ReplyDeletemore importantly, who cares? let's win this competition! Everyone wins if we win!
ok, just found out why their is a time limit, everybody go to http://humblebronybundle.blogspot.com/ and donate.

ReplyDeleteAnd I still support Bethesda 8)

ReplyDeleteI would say we forced Notch's hand.
ReplyDeleteAnd hell, first, second, whatever place we end up - we can still claim credit to his sizeable donation due to *our* combined efforts from raising the bar so high to begin with.
Not that we're content with letting Notch think he's gotten away with it, nosir!

Please add a link to the Humble Brony Bundle website. People need to know where it is if they are going to donate to it.
ReplyDeleteThis prompted me to donate.
ReplyDeleteIt.
Is.
On.
SETH! ADD THE CHARGE TAG TO THIS!
ReplyDeleteI get it, it's eight thousand and FOURTY-TWO! Get it? Fourty-two?

trolled 4 teh lulz!
ReplyDeleteOH GOD NO NOTCH DONATED 8542 BUCKS TO CHARITY.. oh wait.
ReplyDeleteIt's things like this that make me proud to be a part of this community. I say we go all out and show Notch how it's done.
ReplyDeleteNotch, you damn troll!
ReplyDeleteIt's at $9203!! We win!!
ReplyDelete@Daniel G
ReplyDeleteReally now...last I saw, we were still at $7,850.
This is the best kind of competition. Even if/when we do beat him, I wouldn't be mad if he upped his donation.
ReplyDelete@Daniel G Where did u hear we have $9203?
ReplyDeleteThings are going so fast now! I need to send another payment to the Humble Indie Bundle right now; we're less than $500 away from catching up!

@TechnoMonkey76
ReplyDeleteSomepony wasn't watching Desert Bus . . .
Oh God it's Desert Bus all over again. Damnit Notch let someone else have the glory and quit giving creepy flashbacks to a six day charity drive.
ReplyDelete*shakes hoof towards the sky* NOOOOOOOTCH!
ReplyDeleteBahaha, owned by Notch
ReplyDeleteGlad that this donations driven dick waving contest is benefiting indie developers/red cross in the end
Don't worry guys, once something is reported to EqD, nothing stops us.
ReplyDeleteIn the name of friendship, and giving in the holiday spirit, let's do this!
ReplyDeleteI just put 20 bucks in. Normally I donate things like can food but I felt winning this charity war was important for us as a community. Well played Notch but I think we got it.
ReplyDeleteCome on lads! If Notch wants to be charitable, then let's reciprocate. Threw my 30 bits into the hat.
ReplyDeleteConfound you Notch... you drime to donate :)
ReplyDeleteI must help overwhelm Notch and his damn generosity!
ReplyDeleteThe humble brony page says 9200. Good job bronies, we have beaten notch
ReplyDelete@Stromblad: Not really. That's what was donated for all bundles sofar together. To get top spot on this one we have still a bit to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if the donation amount of @notch has a specific meaning. Seems like an odd number.
PS: 10 USD from me HBB :)
Yeah, I kinda knew this was gonna happen... Still it's all in good cause and the more money the better!
ReplyDeleteWe gave 1250 in the last bundle, so we need 1250+ notches donation to beat him! 9200 won't quite cut it!
ReplyDeleteI had yet to donate to this. Now that the gift day has passed I'm sure of what I can give. 50$ added to the cause!
ReplyDeletewe're at 8050 now, we can do it!
Currently at 8050 to Notch's 8542, with 15 hours to go. C'mon ponies!
ReplyDeleteI added 5 bucks. What spread does the HBB guy use for the donations?
ReplyDeleteI like to think WE convinced notch to give over $8000.
ReplyDeleteSooooo... still our victory! XD
~yay~
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the HBB website...
ReplyDeletewe're up by $700 :D
^You're reading the total, not the HBB #4. I'm still reading $8,050.00
ReplyDeleteWell, we can't hold it against notch ^_^ notch is awesome.
ReplyDeleteNot much, but I donated 5$. :3
ReplyDeleteAt this point, it comes down to one thing, I think; is it more important that we get the top spot, or that we help raise the most possible money for this charitable cause?

Just contributed $20. Celestia bless us everyone.
ReplyDeleteHow much time is left?
ReplyDeleteWell said - THIS. CAN. NOT. HAPPEN.
ReplyDelete@Stromblad
ReplyDeleteThat's with the money for the previous bundle included, there is still about 500 dollars needed for this one.
Oh. It. Is. ON.
ReplyDelete20$ donated. Come on everypony, we can do it!
ReplyDeleteCheck out notch's latest tweets!
ReplyDelete"I want to get beaten by bronies! For charity!"
Consider another $10 added. Together we can beat notch, and show an entire industry how strong bronys can be!
ReplyDeleteC'mon everyone, we've got to beat Notch!
ReplyDelete...Err, I mean, we've got to win charity!
...Just give 'em some money.
@Mannybadabout 12 hours.
ReplyDeletenotch is a troll. he claimed(on twitter) is doing that to compete with us and have us beat him for charity.why the hell did he donate at 19 hours left then? ther's no enough time :V.
ReplyDeletewhat if someone *casually* drop the humble brony bundle link to Faust twitter, daniel ingram facebook and other voice actors facebook?
i can't even set up a postepay in 12 hours left è-è
Oh Notch, you so silly. It still looks like we have a chance at winning though.
ReplyDeleteI want to join the cause SO BAD, but I'm absolutely spent from Christmas.

Well, guys, it looks like Notch is going to have a new favorite cartoon thanks to all of you... :D http://humblebronybundle.blogspot.com/2011/12/notch-to-watch-my-little-pony.html
ReplyDeleteGentlemen, our influence continues to grow. Today, the humble indie bundle. Tomorrow... THE WOOOOORLD.

Good guy Notch, donates a lot of money, inadvertently prompts bronies to donate MORE money
ReplyDeleteHoly Notch is a master troll
ReplyDeleteThat's my final straw with this damn site.
ReplyDeleteThat's my final straw with this damn site.
ReplyDeletesoo, i know it's old but...
ReplyDeleteIT'S OVER 9000!!!!
http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/7210/36772541.jpg
this means notch will have to watch a few episodes of MLP :D he said so xD
Personally, I'm a fan of the "We're over $14,000!" meme, myself, but then it's a pretty new one that most people haven't heard of yet. >.>
ReplyDeletehttp://www.humblebundle.com/#stats
In the spirit of Luna, as noted by @Cupcakes Nom:
ReplyDelete"HAHA! THE GENEROSITY HAS BEEN DOUBLED!"
You guys. I freaking love you guys. NOT EVEN 24 HOURS after the call is made, and we more than double ourselves up. If the fandom can find a way to wrangle up about another $3,000, we can more than double Notch himself.
I think notch is a good example of the "chaotic good" troll. In this case, he trolls to bring about a good result.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.
ReplyDeleteFourteen thousand dollars.
Guys? Guys? You guys are the best.
7 hours ago i said " bronies will never do it in 12 hours".
ReplyDeleteload the page. 14k. now i want the pic with notch screaming it's over 14 thousand like vegeta >_>
OMG, i love this fan base so much. all you bronys are the greatest group of people I have had the pleasure to be acquainted with.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what happens to this community, the good and the bad, I will always be proud to have known all of you.
I am amazed by your generosity and love, and i will be forever inspired to do my best to show the same.
wait if notch was a brony would that mean we still win?
ReplyDelete....I still can believe it...
ReplyDeleteI know its been said before, but I'll say it again..
"THE GENEROSITY HAS BEEN DOUBLED"
and it has. really guys, you are THE BEST.
@DeusXMachina I couldn't agree more to both those comments.
ReplyDeleteAlso this whole thing would very well make for a very good holiday news story. LOL
Man, Notch one-ups us and we respond by DOUBLING the last donation. In less than 17 hours!
ReplyDeleteBest fandom ever.
Notch: 8,542.00 Dollars
ReplyDeleteHumble Brony Bundle: 14,238.27
Fuck yea.
Best of all, it sounds like one final chunk is going to go all at once before the bundle is over, so the final number may be incredibly eye-popping.
ReplyDeleteWow, this all happened while I was asleep, this... is incredible. Double the initial donation, so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI do have to ponder though whenever it was a damn lot of bronies, or one major donation that brought the amount to such an excessive amount. Either way, that's amazing.
I hate the fact LOL made equestria daily take down that article on best wiki of 2011 poll im sure some bronys did not even get to see it....o well looks like we have one win:)
ReplyDeleteI knew we'd beat Notch's donation, but I had no idea another $7000 would show up overnight. I freakin love you guys.
ReplyDeleteNotch is such a badass, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to pitch in anonymously into the brony bundle as well. Considering he said he's also a fan.
