I think we kinda dominated this Humble Bundle drive. Remember when 5000 was a big deal? Yah...
Good job everyone! The actual drive ends in around two hours from now, so if you still wanted to contribute, hit up the brony bundle site here!
I bet the internet didn't expect that one!

Made my day :D
ReplyDeletethat feel when you rule the internet
ReplyDeleteHuzzah! Power to the Bronies!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the money to spare to donate...
OMGWTFBBQ
ReplyDeleteHow'd we get 6000 more in just a couple hours?!?
Awww yeah! Who's awesome? We're awesome!
ReplyDeleteGood being on top, better that we're helping such a great cause.
ReplyDeleteIt took so long to get the first 8000
ReplyDeleteYou know that warmth that invades your chest, goes up to your head, and then makes your cheeks heat up red like apples?
ReplyDeleteThat's what it feels when you are proud of being part of something, and of the people who are with you together into it.
You make me proud bronies. I'm so happy right now <3
It's not very humble when you announce your donation to the fucking world.
ReplyDeleteIt was at 9001$ just a few hours ago. o_O
ReplyDeleteI guess someone was helping us :D
>Indie developers
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! Lots of generosity today!
ReplyDeleteReally really wish I could. :( Oh well perhaps the next one.
ReplyDeletethis just makes me cry of happiness...
ReplyDeletegoing against notch was SO epic and now NOTCH IS WATCHING mlp ...this ... bronies really ... I am so proud to be a brony... this is without a doubt the best community EVER
and I have never spent a better 10 bucks then on the humble brony bundle <3
We rock, woohoo! :) We almost doubled our donation in 12 hours, that's awesome! I'm proud of you guys!
ReplyDelete@ Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteShut up Eggman. It's for charity, and Humble Brony is still just a faceless name. Only the people who donated know they donated.
Get over it.
Good job everypony, it's all for a good cause!
ReplyDeleteNotch is going to watch ponies if humble brony wins?
ReplyDeleteimagine if he likes it, and he posts something about it on minecraft.net. the popularity boost...
Hooray! Cupcakes for everypony! I wish i could have donated, but I'm poor :(
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I actually have to give credit to Notch for what his donation did for our pool. While we can say that it was our donation that prompted him to step up his game, it's something of a two way street - his donation most certainly prompted the surge in donations.
ReplyDeleteI'm really proud of what we did here.
This entire community is full of PURE WIN!
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteYou could say that, but still, can you really blame those that donated... for being generous?
I still think the massive cash influx came from one particularly big donation, since it did take a lot of time to get up to what it used to be, but still, cash is cash, no?
YaY!
ReplyDeletewait... notch watching mlp ...
ReplyDeleteminecraft 1.1 pony update ????
This warms my heart.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteAnnouncing it gets more people to contribute. I see only positives from this.
It's called Humble Indie Bundle, not Humble Donator Bundle. The devs are the ones that humbly ask for a fair price. The people buying the game are free to brag about what they do. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, time is not over yet. I bet another 1o dollar donation to HBB that Notch will 1up us in the last minute.
Ponies are cute. Adorable. Friendly. Playful. Fun.
ReplyDeleteBut most of all... Ponies WIN.
Nice job, guys!
Bronies, you're awesome. Ω
ReplyDelete@Altercation
ReplyDeleteMost definitely it was a two way street. Cupcakes was torn between dropping all the cash ASAP or trying to ninja first place. Most of us told him drop it ASAP. Worst case scenario is Notch donates more and then we raise more to beat him in a circle of charity.
We pushed him and he pushed us and everyone wins.
@Sothalic
ReplyDeleteI'm not blaming whoever donated, I'm blaming Seth for being all "HEY GUYZ LOOK AT HOW THIS HUMBLE GUY IZ DONATIN STUFF IMMA RUIN HIS HUMBLE STATUS BY GROUPIN MYSELF IN DERE AND FREAKIN OUT ABOUT IT ON DA FRUNT PAEG! It would be fine if he was just like "hey look humble brony donated the most, pretty neat, huh?" But, no, he had to allcaps the title and freak out
YES! This fandom is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'm afraid for is the fandom's reaction if Notch doesn't like the show PURELY BECAUSE HE DOESN'T LIKE IT! FiM is a TV show, just like any other, and as such people can either enjoy it, or not, even if they can break past the gender barrier that today's popular culture has placed up.
Knowing Notch, He is probably planning a last minute donation. All we've got to do is do something similar.
ReplyDeletethats a nice donation you got there... would be a shame if something were to happen it.... SSSsssSSssssssss
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteAre you done? This is the time for celebration for many reasons :)
Got no sleep last night due to a painfully swollen foot and ended up here at work around 5am. Pulled up EQD and saw this. My day will now be 100% better. I'm constantly overwhelmed by what the community can do when it pulls together with a common goal in mind. Even all the well-wishers who couldn't donate have their hearts in the right place. Love all y'all.
ReplyDeleteSpeechless.
ReplyDelete@Zirro
ReplyDeleteAll I'm saying is that we should at least try to be humble.
=O thats pretty god damn awesome in my opinion
ReplyDeleteFeeling proud might not fit the situation, but I can't help it. Thanks to all the bronies who donated, and it feels wonderful to be part of such a great community !!!
ReplyDeleteOk, so lets join the fight against cancer (and all other illness, really), and tell all the Bronies its a competition. We'll have cures to everything by the end of the week!
ReplyDeleteThe smile this put on my face could even challenge Twilights Lesson-zero-breakdown smile.
ReplyDeleteLove you all guys!
I laughed so hard when I saw this. We bronies are
ReplyDeleteso awesome! I hope others learn from this that the most
important things are to love others and give as much as
you can to those in need, oh and that bronies are generous
and not a bunch of creepy pedophiles!
As an added bonus maybe we will convert Notch to a full-blown
brony and then he will add in some easter eggs to his next
minecraft update!
Wait, wasn't Humble Brony in second place by at least $2000 last night? How did the donations double like that so quickly?
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteTrue, but if I hadn't heard of this as of now, I wouldn't have put in money to the bundle.
Bronies may be loving and tolerant but we are also competitive as hell.
ReplyDelete@BrassMachine
ReplyDeleteAs I have previously stated, the problem is not the announcement itself, but how Seth decided to allcaps the title and put exclamation marks after every single word. Not humble.
Awww Yeah!! Take All my money!!!
ReplyDelete@Evenprime
ReplyDeleteWell he does have a lot of money so it wouldn't surprise me xD

ReplyDeleteWe. Are. AWESOME.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteEh, oh well, what are you going to do. (shrugs)
I am proud of ALL of you. I love you Notch for pushing the bronies to the LIMIT and BEYOND!
ReplyDeleteThe fandom never fails to blow my mind. O_O
ReplyDeleteMy money is in there...never thought it will skyrocket over 10k...
ReplyDelete:motherofgod:
This calls for a party.
ReplyDeleteWow I was hoping for 10k but this is just awesome!
ReplyDeleteTake that, Notch! Can't one up the bronies!
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Sethisto was clearly being tongue-in-cheek with his post about Notch out-donating Bronies. Ultimately it lead to more donations to charity, so I'm not exactly sure what the complaint is. This isn't just another toy survey.
Nonone can defeat us now the WORLD WILL BE PONY!!!!
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteThis would be a boring world indeed if someone can't CANTERLOCK a single word in a title without being called conceited.
Let me remind you that the HumbleBrony Bundle isn't Seth's deal, it's done by someone else. Besides, Notch himself openly challenged us to do better than him. And it worked, the bundle doubled overnight.
Don't take it all so seriously. What's important was that charity won. And we won charity. Go team!
The real winners in all of this are the charities. Whether the HBB group ends up in first or second (or even lower if some other group wants to "beat" them), the fact that it's actually going to help people? That's the best part.
ReplyDeleteI almost want to say with how Notch took first place near the end that it was purposely done because they just -knew- the Bronies couldn't be outdone and would do everything they could to retake the first spot. :P And I concur with someone above, how did we manage so much in such short time? lol Over 14k. That's quite an incline.
ReplyDeleteI got some new verses for the Team Equestria Theme Song
ReplyDeleteEquestria!!!
F*** Yeah!!!
Savin' the day with our donations
Equestria!!!
F*** Yeah!!!
Dominating the Humble Bundle
Nice try Notch but you're just one man
you can match the entire span of
Equestria!!!
Wow, we even surpass the 10k mark. The community is unbelievable.
ReplyDelete@Sombreon
ReplyDeleteYes, yes it is =)
Looks like we...
ReplyDeleteJust went up a Notch.
Sweet Celestia, good job everypony!
ReplyDelete$15k? That's crazy. 6_9
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteI certainly understand your point of view, and the want to keep ourselves kind of grounded instead of getting big-headed is admirable.
You're not wrong for that either, some humility wouldn't be the worst thing in this whole matter.
At the same time, everypony else brings up a good point too. Thanks to EqD being so vocal, a surge has been driven to push us over the top, and as the HBB page states, every donation is 100% good press for bronies and the show that we love.
So, a bit of love and tolerance is needed from everypony, but a bit of celebration is fine too (barring a last minute snipe from Notch!)
I knew this was gonna happen. Bronies raped notch.
ReplyDeleteIT'S OVER 9000!!!!
ReplyDeleteYUSSSSSSSSS I may repeat myself over the months, but I love you guys. All of you, none exempt. <3
ReplyDeleteOnce again proving that, once something is posted on EqD, nothing can stop the stampede of little ponies charging in and taking over EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad. :>
Great as it may be, flaunting about it exactly doesn't provide that much extra value in the long run. Everyone should be happy of course for what has been done, but for Celestia's sake try to keep your hooves on the ground. Actions speak louder than words.
ReplyDeleteWow I wake up and I see this up on the front page. Great news to wake up to! This is why I love this community so much. You are so caring.
ReplyDeleteAnd to think only a few days ago we were at 7 and now 14!!!
ReplyDeleteGo EqD
I don't really understand donating through the Humble Brony Bundle on "top of donating through the Humble Indie Bundle proper", but I have done my duty :3 and contributed on behalf of the herd. C:
ReplyDeleteSUCK IT NOTCH! WE JUST-
ReplyDeleteO_o
I mean, good job everyone. Seriously. It makes me even more proud to be a brony, just seeing this.
@keneticpest
ReplyDeleteYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
This is a time when competition is a great thing. By competing, more was just raised for a good cause~
ReplyDeleteThe first thought that crossed my mind while the main page was loading up was, "Well, it'd be nice to check up on how the bundle is coming, the holy -APPLES! APPLES!- is this?"
ReplyDeleteWell played, Notch, you cunning, dastardly bald-headed mastermind of goodness you. Now there's the results of an orbital friendship strike if I ever saw one.
@ Everyone worried about 'flaunting'
ReplyDeleteI fail to see how us bronies patting ourselves on the back, on a site that is viewed by pretty much exclusively bronies, is a bad thing. If we were going out to other sites and posting stuff like, "Hey! We donated X amount of money to charity, what have you guys done?", then yes, that would be wrong.
But that's not what is being done here. All that's going on here is the online equivalent to a sports team, after winning the championship, is gathered in their locker room, whooping it up and celebrating the hard work and honest effort that they put forth to accomplish something great.
So, if you honestly have a problem with people feeling good about doing good, and possibly inspiring others to join in the giving, get out of our locker room... I mean, comment thread.
My hats off to Notch and everyone else that donated. I originally said that we'd forced Notch's hand - now I say that he forced ours, and a jolly good show for him doing so!
ReplyDeleteHell, I do hope that Notch snipes our numbers again - this isn't some silly ebay bidding war, and all the money raised is cumulative.
If some harmless, friendly competition with decent exposure and some light-hearted bragging rights means even more money raised for charity - bring it on. Whatever happens - nobody loses, everyone wins!
I just want to say thanks Notch, a little friendly competition is never a bad thing when it's for charity. And thank you Broniesr donating to this worthy event.
ReplyDeleteI... I love you all.
ReplyDeleteYou guys made this happen.
This community is freaking epic.
I mean, seriously! Can you imagine any other fandom doing something like this? I genuinely believe that this fandom brings the best out in most people, and we have developed new warmth in our hearts to become better people and friends.
I've seen Fluttershy in you guys when someone is suffering, having a hard time, new to the fandom, or even bullying us:
Kindness!
I've seen Applejack in you guys with how hard many of us have worked in projects, charities, blogs, and have become more trustworthy people: Honesty!
I've seen Rainbow Dash in you guys when someone stands up for a fellow brony- a fellow human- and have stood strongly at each other's sides:
Loyalty!
I've seen Pinkie Pie in you guys with all the joy you all have made, in works and projects, in how we treat others, and in our attitudes in what we do:
Laughter!
I can see right now the Rarity in all of you, how there are so many bronys giving so much to charity and to others out of the goodness of our hearts:
Generosity!
And I think the very fact that a community like ours could bloom from such a wonderful, beautiful, innocent and enjoyable show- and to flourish like it does here on the internet where there is so much corruptness and hate, and still maintain these qualities, is truly:
Magic!
I really do love you all.
-A little black pony
Holy...
ReplyDeleteWow. I expected the total to rise, but not by that much!
Woah.
Okay, who donated like, 5000?
ReplyDelete@Kaijyuu
ReplyDeleteI honestly doubt that it was the work of one single big donation. Someone claimed to donate about 500 on the HBB site, but I don't think there's a brony here who could donate that much money. I think the most logical conclusion is that there's just a lot of us who put in about twenty dollars or so, or who donated previously but put it more because of Notch's donation and/or promise, who pushed it up so high.
@Tosxychor

I don't even care if that's digging too deep for a reference.
@Altercation
ReplyDelete"I don't think there's a brony here who could donate that much money."
Clarification: 5000, not 500.
@Laurence Brown
ReplyDeleteThere was only one person worried about flaunting.
But then again, you know our reputation everywhere else on the internet.
Anyway, enough of that. This is AWESOME!!! YES!!!
Just 10 minutes to go and painfully close to hitting $16,000 before I submit the funds!!!
ReplyDeleteLess than ten minutes left; you think HBB'll make one last donation to cap it all off?
ReplyDeleteEPHorizon: Spoilers: Yes. <3
ReplyDeleteHBB does things in chunks. They'll post their last big donation pool to HumbleBundle right at the deadline.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching it lol
ReplyDelete@Cupcakes Nom
ReplyDeleteSooo tempted to add a bit more to push it past 16k....
The suspense is killing me!
ReplyDeleteBoom! 16K!
ReplyDeleteWoah! 16,000 dollars! you rock!
ReplyDeleteWE BROKE $16K!
ReplyDeleteWoooo Hooooo! Updated in the last 15 seconds. Multi-levels of win.
ReplyDeleteHoly Celestia....we beat HIM?!XD
ReplyDeleteWas listening to this while the countdown was ending. gave me an epic feeling:P

http://wikia2011.wikia.com/index.php?title=Top_10_list:Best_Wikis_of_2011 have you voted for my little pony yet?
ReplyDeleteI can't stop crying. I just can't stop crying!
ReplyDeleteThis community. It's so beautiful, I can't stop crying. And I don't want to stop crying!
Nearly doubled Notch in the donation pool. Regardless of that, gotta give Notch credit. He incurred the warmth of the Orbital Friendship Cannon and greatly increased the total for charity and developers. This is a day to be proud and of much greater importance than just winning some poll.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work, people. I'm very, VERY tempted to join the cause on the next Bundle (already participated on a couple previous ones).
ReplyDeleteI'll stay tuned!
@Ink
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments EXACTLY. There really, truly is something special, unique, an never before imagined about this community of our's.
I'm really, truly proud of all you guys. All of you. This is incredible, I seriously can't stop smiling.
Though that's probably because I just set the "Brilliant Pinkie" face as my wallpaper...
@ink
ReplyDeleteBrohoof for your "wise" words :D
@Laurence Brown
ReplyDeleteThe party in question is called the HUMBLE brony bundle. Freaking out about winning is the opposite of humble. And, don't get me wrong, it's fine to celebrate, but when the fucking title is in allcaps and saying that we "dominated", and then the description has an exclamation point at the end of it, then it's pretty much advertising for rowdy, show-offy behavior.
@Dibullba Not just double, but then some again and all *within 24 hours*! That's it's own tier of impressive...
ReplyDeleteYou bronies are amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, you bronies are amazing! Ice cream and brushings for EVERYPONY!
ReplyDeleteOoh, ice cream AND brushings. Yes please!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, guys, it bears repeating: you bronies ARE amazing. :D
Well that was awesome to be part of cant wait for the next one.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteTBH...anything that gets MORE people DONATING. REMEMBER...this helps a good cause too!
If getting people worked up about it helps a cause I'm all for it... ;p
@El_Darax: I'm with you on this, but I might be a little biased. >.>
ReplyDeleteWell done my fellow bronies! I am so proud to be apart of this amazing community!
ReplyDeleteI donated, I'm always up for helping a good cause!
ReplyDeleteAlso, competition is good for any charity event! It makes every side work harder to achieve their goal, making the all-around goal higher!
Bronies stepped it up and made a HUGE contribution to this, I see no reason for us NOT to brag about it.
Keep it rockin' everypony!
@El_Darax
ReplyDeleteThis would be a valid argument if it wasn't for the fact that the contest is almost over, and that just telling people to donate would be just as effective.
@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteYes, lets feel upset we dominated a donation pool. \O.o/
Good job everypony!
Holy moly, less than a day later and the amount's almost been doubled.
ReplyDeleteTake note donation drives, if you want a buttload of brony donations you'll need to get yourself a top contributors list for bronies to show off with :P
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteBeing proud of the community you're a part isn't exactly a bad thing. We're humble, but we can still be proud. To an extent, of course.
Ehhh.... guys? Why do they display names of top donors anyway? Competition is a good thing, it makes people donate more. It sure did, here!!
ReplyDeleteCompetition is good, the Chinese folks know this, and that's why they'll dominate us soon. :-P
Anyway, I really find this competition about donating... cute. Yeah, it's cute. I love it!
It's over and the numbers are in. $16,005.27 for the Brony Bundle according to the site. That's almost double the next highest amount. Be proud, but not arrogant or pretentious. Be happy for those we're helping as well as be happy that we raised such an amount.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's just for this bundle. Across all Humble Bundles we're at $17,375.
ReplyDeleteWe are Equestria, we are the foals, we are the ponies who make a brighter day so lets start giving.....
ReplyDeleteLOL. This is awesome, it's like: "Bronies, assemble!", and we can do pretty much anything (you know, internet-related). Not to be arrogant, but this community certainly is a force to be reckoned with.
ReplyDelete"Celebrating your accomplishments is natural, but rubbing them in everypony's face is not." - Twilight & A.J. (The Mysterious Mare Do Well)
ReplyDeleteI don't think we're being quite as bad as Dashie was. There's nothing wrong in a little friendly competition (especially for a good cause) and giving ourselves credit for a job well done.

@Dr. Robotnik
ReplyDeleteu mad, bro?
Normally I would be proud to see many people pooling for a donation drive, right up until I saw the the words "dominated" and "I bet the internet didn't expect that".
ReplyDeleteThe internet is well aware of Brony's being around and dominating someone is not a form of being humble it is a form of aggressive assertion.
Just thought I'd like to point that out before anyone deicides to shrug off a point I made.
And now we need Notch to donate more and pass us again, so that we donate even more and the charity gets filthy stinking rich on the two of us being unable to back down.
ReplyDeleteFinal total: $16,005.27
ReplyDeleteFLAWLESS VICTORY!!! Yay bronies!
Well played, Notch. Well played.
ReplyDeleteWe couldn't have done it without Notch's help- without his donation to motivate us we probably would've petered out at about $8000.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, everybody!
The whole thing can be summed up as:
ReplyDeleteWe throw 8 thousand at the screen, something happened.
Notch threw 8 thousand at the screen. Nothing happened.
We throw all our moneys at the screen, EVERYTHING happened!
Hey everyone! Internet group hug! I love this community so much. Brohoofs for everypony ^_^
ReplyDeleteOk, Notch said he would watch a few episodes since we out-donated him. I motion that we set up a special livestream mare-athon for him to attend.
ReplyDelete@DrewPony
ReplyDeleteWell put, brah.
And to this day I still don't understand the Dash-fan rage over that damn episode. ;p
It's OVER 9000!
ReplyDeleteNormally I am on the fence about the whole dominate thing , if its a pony related site/poll then as long as we don't over do it I am fine. Its when we expand the domination to other things (which hurts our rep) that I have issues.
ReplyDeleteBut this is for charity and its on our own site , so I see no harm in the over the top celebration as long as it stays here. Its not like the pony haters are gonna troll this site just for stuff to hate us for. They got plenty of made up things for that.
As they say haters gonna hate , but no need to give them free ammo >.<
Now no one can say that obsessing over winning this one wasn't a good thing :p
ReplyDeleteThis is the best kind of rivalry that can possibly exist. There is no downside. Awesome job everypony!
ReplyDeleteHUZZAH! THE DONATION HAS BEEN DOUBLED!
ReplyDelete(I cant believe I'm the first to use this joke)
Holy moly, that's quite the Mile Stone.
ReplyDeleteDonate to a good cause: $1300
ReplyDeleteShow the world how awesome bronies are: $7000
Make Notch watch MLP: $9000
Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that if you want people to donate to a good cause you have to bribe them; simply appealing to their good nature alone will only see you through halfway at best.
Holy crap, good going to everypony that's donated!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so awesome.
ReplyDelete@Toksyuryel What you say is very true and kinda sad, after all, but here is how I see it.
ReplyDeleteTrue generosity comes from the heart. And donating money through internet can never be a gesture from the heart, because money and internet are concepts known only to our minds, not our hearts.
So yeah, calling to pure generosity won't be very effective in such a context, because only the mind can hear that call.
Now, if you give the mind a reason to take interest, such as this competition, it may forward the call for generosity to the heart.
And here we see the result...
Indie developers is such a great cause to donate.
ReplyDeleteI don't care so much about this challenge with notch, I have to say, but the fact that we helped a great cause with more than a dozen thousands dollars is unbelievable.
This shows that the Bronies are also a powerful, generous economic force.
I don't think we "beat" notch, lord knows the man could probably 1$ up us without much effort.
ReplyDeleteRather, Notch saw this, did what he did, looked at us with a crooked grin and went "Your move, bronies"
We smiled back, answered his call with gusto. Notch was pretty much "Touché", both knowing all too well the good thing that just happened.
We could do better, it was in us, it just needed the right button to press, and much like rainbowdash standing up for fluttershy, being a 'winner' on top of it all only made doing the right thing all that more rewarding. :)
.....And then pinkiepie materialized out of nowhere, threw everyone a party because kind hearted indie devs and well meaning charities all made money from what just transpired. :D
That Reminds me Notch had to watch the show because of a bet
ReplyDeletePony content in Minecraft?
that would be so Awesome /)(^3^)(\
I think this is the part where we, as a community, may start cackling maniacally. :3
ReplyDelete
