Fallout Equeestria's side stories sure do get some amazing art, and since the actual original is on it's final chapters, I figured we'd start this one off with some New Neighgas.
Have some art!

ReplyDelete#23 is my favorite.

@Tekaramity
ReplyDeleteThank ya Tek-buddy! =D <33 -huggly-
Nice drawfriend today.
ReplyDeleteIs Fallout: Equestria really worth my time?
i had fun reading the book titles on number 14 xD
ReplyDelete@Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteYes, yes it is! I can say it is the best thing I have ever read in my life, and I have read a lot of things. This includes novels like Stephen Kings' "The Stand."
If that top image is any indication, this is gonna be another fabulous drawfriend:
ReplyDelete#1 This looks simply awesome.
#4 It would be just like Twilight to be up to her horn in books.
#6 I still don't get how Derpy can fall asleep with her eyes open. Only she can pull that off. And is that Pinkie in the corner? Asleep?!
#9 Rainbow in action. Always a winner.
#10 Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.
#13 The fashionista at work. Cool.
#17 Another one?! We get it already, Spitfire. We'll join!
#20 Hahaha. Good blend of funny and cute.
#24 They both look like they're having a blast. Try that with an eagle.
#26 This pic's got plenty of bounce….I know, I'm terrible.
#29 Um…someone get her a ladder?
#30 Stop right there. That's already too much cute to handle. Any more and I'll explode.
I laughed at #8 for a lot longer than I probably should have. :3
ReplyDeleteNow I know I'll never touch fallout: equestria.
ReplyDelete#1 - GUNS DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FINGERS OR HANDS.
@Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteIf you like reading, then it is. If you like Fallout, then it really is. If you like a story that will draw you in and possibly drive you to tears, then what are you waiting for?
You also have all the time in eternity, being dead an' all...
#1 is badarse, and #24 is adorable!
ReplyDelete#14

@Steve Jobs Yes it is. It really is.
@Gentleman Otter
ReplyDelete>refuses to read Fallout Equestria stories
>all because of how an artist drew some fanart
Sounds pretty pretentious, does it not?
@Gentleman Otter It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit.
ReplyDelete@Steve Jobs Read it now. I implore you, and I assure you won't regret it.
ReplyDelete4891. lol
ReplyDeleteAlso, 17... to bring up yesterdays debate, it does seem more like a tank from this angle. (Although thats not the first thing I noticed :3 )
@No One
ReplyDeleteYou don't, the author does. Rule of cool works, but at least make up some logical way for it to work.
@Mattatatta
Well, if the fan-art is wrong, the writing is wrong. Therefore I chose not to read it. I prefer the idea that if you use a gun in a story you understand how an equine would USE one.
Anypony else here part of the REA?
ReplyDelete(Royal Equestrian Armour?)
#14 reminded me of something interesting. how many ponies acutually use the library to read besides twilight
ReplyDelete#21 shall give me nightmares
ReplyDelete@Gentleman Otter Actually I am the Author of that particular story, not the artist. I wish I was that awesome to draw, but in any case that character, Silver Storm, never holds a gun in that fashion in the story. She does in the picture because it looks more badass then a Battle-Saddle.
ReplyDeleteEarth Ponies and pegasus use eith mouth based firearms, or weapons strapped onto their backs called Battle-Saddles, using a bridle as a firing mechanisim. Unicorns use magic.
Its just art work, not what actually happens. Do't worry so much xP
#8 is a Theremin! Very interesting instrument, one of the, if not THE first electronic instrument. It plays notes based on your hands distance from the metal bars. One is volume, the other is pitch.
ReplyDeleteFun fact: the light sign in the header image says "Cassino", and that's exactly the name of an italian town very close from where I actually live!
ReplyDelete@RavensDagger
ReplyDelete(ಠ_ಠ)
...HHhhhhhhhhhNNNnnnnnnnn...
ReplyDelete*heart imploded from overdose of Fluttershy*
@No One
ReplyDeleteI see, excuse my lack of knowledge them. I still won't touch the story with a 10 foot pole.
I do know the firearm system, which is why I refuse to the touch the system. There are multiple issues with how it would function with the multiple features of firearms. Namely aiming and recoil. It's better then nothing, but it's still not as functional as I would prefer.
#1 I don't usually read fanfiction, but I might have to give this one a shot...
ReplyDelete#17 I can apply twice right? RIGHT? Stupid sexy Spitfire...
18: You don't need to read that book, Twilight. Looks like you know enough.
ReplyDelete2: Nice...foreshortening.
7: I approve.
16: Pomf indeed.
7 is best!
ReplyDelete@Gentleman Otter
ReplyDeleteIt's never explained in detail, but the gist from FO:E is that small arms are designed so that they can be held, aimed, and fired using the pony's mouth while minimizing damage to the user. The larger guns, primarily cumbersome, two-human-handed weapons, can be wielded with difficulty with a pony's mouth, but are better used with a a Battle Saddle.
Battle Saddles can be modified to hold two "two-handed" weapons, can be rigged with an automatic reloading system, and also be used to allow a pony to wield powerful weapons such as miniguns, rocket launchers, and energy cannons.
FO:E doesn't describe how a weapon's appearance differs from a real-world counterpart, but it does give enough information during combat scenes and general world-building that a reader or artist can picture it in their mind.
As for the art at the top; Rule of Cool applies. It is cooler to have the pony pressed up against the wall, clutching a sniper rifle in that pose, looking like they're half-expecting an attack at any moment, than it is to draw a pony crouching beneath the window sill with the gun strapped to their side. The latter could be misinterpreted as the character not being alert, or being frightened, or both. Because a viewer would at first equate the pose with a human equivalent, and mistake the weapon's position as being holstered, and the crouching pose as ducking for cover.
Again, judging a written piece of fiction on a piece of fan art is very pretentious.
*facepalm at topic about Fallout Equestria*
ReplyDeleteThose book titles on #14 were great.
ReplyDelete#8, #12, #20 and #30 were my favorites.
Otter, that's a rather...strange mindset to take. I mean, that's like saying you won't read Lord of the Rings because there is no way for oliphonts to exist(Square cube law and all that), Or saying you won't watch star trek because phasers have all the ergonomics of a hand vacume.
ReplyDeleteAs to the Ponies in the story: Battle saddles with smart linked huds, mouth grips and swingover sights with recoil dampening spells. Add in that ponies in the show are tough enough to tear 2x4 wood beams to pieces with their teeth or cart around metric tons of rock and there is little reason they couldn't use a few guns :P
So when do we start talking about how ponies play instruments?
ReplyDeleteDexterous hooves.
ReplyDeleteSo much Twilight Sparkle this time around. <3
ReplyDeleteBy Talos is that Fallout story long.
ReplyDeleteWelp, I've got nothing better to do, seeing as how I'm dead and all.
@Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteYou said "By Talos" and the rest of your sentence was read in the voice of a Skyrim character.
I lol'd heartily
8: Octavia is preparing for her gig with Dragonforce.
ReplyDeletethis Soviet is complete.
ReplyDelete#14:I read all the titles, among the highlights are Cupcakes, DALEKS!!, Beauty and Spike, (Equestria)=mc2, The Art of Sitting by Lyra Heartsting, and Marecraft, but you should check them all out for yourself. (Ha, ha, ha... DALEKS!!)
ReplyDelete@Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteIm sorry to post this, But its way to funny not too XD
#26 So amazingly happy.
ReplyDelete@Mattatatta
ReplyDeleteYes, but the recoil from what would be a 10mm round could cause serious damage. A 'mouth fired' pistol would need to not use a blow-back cycling system or a revolving barrel. Both of which have their problems which would need to have been addressed.
Battle Saddles would need light-weight materials and very flexible braces to compensate for full auto or short bursts of automatic weapons. A rigid system would cause the weapon system to fail due to jamming. If the battle system is of the correct materials, then what remains in question is the ejecting round-casings. Which could simply be made by facing the ejection port away from the user, but then that could make reloading a hassle due to still having to 'chamber' that first round by reaching over and doing so depending on the fire-arm in question.
Of course, these things would have to be re-designed for equine use of a 'battle saddle' system. Which then poses the question why use a battle saddle? Why not use a sling based system and bar system? The weapon is pressed into the equine's forward arm/leg and aimed by use of a 'bit' attached to a moving 'trigger' that allows for the weapon to fire with out blowing out the user's teeth.
It's assumed the weapons of fallout equestria would differ from their fallout counter-parts, but the question that can solve many problems is 'how do they differ'? Answer that with logical things and everything works.
Rule of cool applies for every work of fiction.
Also, I'm not judging the fiction by the fanart. I'm just reminded as to why I'm not touching the story via the way of the fan-art.
@Shoggoth
Well, LOTR has far more many things going for it then a simple question of how fire-arms work and if the basic concept of firearms working in the fiction.
Star Trek is Sci-Fi, it works because of SCIENCE!
Well, Smart-linked Head Up Displays are out of place completely due to the technological stance fallout has. Swing-over sights as well as recoil dampening spells can handle two question, but not everyone will have access to recoil-dampening magical enchantments.
But, anywho, time to disappear.
this one and the last one have to much Almost NSFW
ReplyDelete@Mattatatta
ReplyDeleteMan, I see you commenting everywhere! XD
I love FoE so much. My mind is still a little blown that it's basically over now except an epilogue and afterword. With a heavy heart I give you a brohoof. I hope I'm not the only one suffering.
#18 - In correlation with 'Satisfaction - Benny Benassi' is strangely hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSo many good ones this time
ReplyDeleteI gave up on FO:E after losing interest in the story for whatever reason mid-chapter 40. Ever since, I've been rue-ing every new update, thinking to myself (dammit, more I have to read when I decide to finish the story).
ReplyDeleteI blame Fallout the game for taking up all my time. And crashing a lot.
Dammit New Vegas.
21.... that Twilight
ReplyDeleteAdorkable :D
I don't really have anything to lead off the comments with this time, so let's get right to it.
ReplyDelete1) It's an undeniably cool image that is so ludicrous for ponies that I have to love it. The story is way too long for me to get into, though. If I ever find the free time, I still need to try the actual game.
2) Miss Berryshines Punch is apparently feeling flirty. Cute image.
3) That's a crossover I hadn't considered. Cool, sleek and detailed Dash.
4) I pretty much love everything about this image... the texture, the lighting, the subject matter, the style. An absolute home run for me. Beautiful work!
5) Now *that* is a tail. Cool and colorful.
6) Poor Carrot Top. Should have invited Berry Punch... she could have kept going longer than the rest.
7) A very cute, well done image of Spike and his crush.
8) She even plays the theremin? Is there anything that pony can't make music from?
9) This is a great image as well... the motion, colors, all of it adds up to Dash.
10) A charming picture of Fleur, as a filly perhaps?
11) So this is not Young Celestia, but Fluer in elaborate dress. If she covers up the cutie mark, she could be arrested for impersonation.
12) That's a neat (and precarious looking) backdrop to Twilight and Luna.
13) Best pony indeed. Another winner. I definitely dig this artist's style. And on a side note, I have a soft spot in my heart for those tomato pin cushions from my mother's sewing projects when I was young.
14) Heh... I especially admire the time spent on titling all of the books.
15) I have to say, a younger Nightmare Moon is actually pretty cute.
16) My... Fluttershy seems to be having some wing issues. Nicely colored.
17) Um... exactly what kinds of activities do we do in the REA? Not that I imagine many would disobey a direct order like that.
18) Um... heya Twilight. Looks like you still have the final chapter to finish. She does look good in glasses, I must admit. Excellent, if saucy-ish, drawing.
19) And back to her G rated self. Very charming.
20) She makes for one happy santa-hat-wearing pony.
21) I am totally stopping at the next Pony Emporium that I pass on the freeway. I hope they have billboards up before the exit.
22) Fluttershy's outfit is my favorite out of the bunch, though they're all fun.
23) That smile seems about right for Dash.
24) I laughed out loud at this one... truly inspired, and exactly the kind of awesome I'd see those two getting involved in. Great idea!
25) A really nice print quality to this Fluttershy design.
26) If Pinkie were real, she would emit beams of happiness like this.
27) I'm telling you, those two would have totally pwned everyone at the Sisterhooves Social.
28) Twi seems to not be enjoying her spa time to the fullest.
29) I'll alert the fire department immediately!
30) I'd let her play any reindeer games she wanted.
A fun Drawfriend, loaded with excellent images! Great job artists... thanks for sharing!
@Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteyou're dead, you've got all the time in the world!
My heart melted at #7. Luv it. ❍á´¥❍
ReplyDelete#18
ReplyDeleteOh lawdy I laughed when I read the book title.
I get that FO:E is uber-popular and all, but seriously... That's too much for me to read into a series I wasn't even interested in, in the first place.
ReplyDelete(Yep, I don't like Fallout, and I'm a writing a million word fic... let the hate fly)
@Gentleman Otter
ReplyDelete>Star Trek is Sci-Fi, it works because of SCIENCE!
See, that just demonstrates just how narrow your mind is.
FO:E has a combination of Sci-Fi and Magic. And to be honest, Fallout's Sci-Fi aspect is as blurry and difficult to grasp as Magic.
When a character pulls out a Phaser, you don't expect him to give a ten minute monologue on how it works right down to proper maintenance methods and safety features. No, you expect him to either start shooting or for the scene to get intense.
FO:E has a lot of guns-drawn moments - it's based on Fallout after all - and nobody in their right mind wants an essay on how every gun being pointed at someone works when they could be reading what happens in that scene.
It's easier to just write in the vital information such as 'what is a battle saddle?' and 'what the hell are balefire eggs?' at key points and leave the already established stuff such as 'this is a gun, it shoots bullets that can kill things' to the reader. Hell, it's actually very fun imagining just how the guns work. It's a fun challenge for an artist who has chosen a pony-realistic style to draw guns that would fit them, and not be fraught with drawbacks.
It should also be noted that we're discussing ponies who are like worker ants at the worst of times. They all possess greater strength than we give them credit for, so I like to think that recoil isn't too much of an issue, and that their mouths are left unharmed when firing guns - since they use their mouths for very strenuous tasks such as tug-of-war, pulling branches down, and holding on for dear life.
@gillnavisingh
ReplyDeleteMillion words? Sounds like a doorstopper I'd read
Is the REA a thing now? And hey at #2! Berry Punch not drunk, that's rare.
ReplyDeleteDat #17. I did rather enjoy them all as well.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Slugbox. Mostly everything is great, though.
ReplyDelete18 - Oh SH- i think she just read that book O_O'
ReplyDeleteBronies we're doomed!
#18
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there...
Me: So Twilight...about chapter 5, think you could help me with that?
Is the REA a thing now? And hey at #2! Berry Punch not drunk, that's rare.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just noticed, every book has a title for #14. Well done.
ReplyDelete@Mattatatta
ReplyDeleteAlright, final reply I'll give before I disappear to question what I just did.
I'm not narrow minded, at least I don't think I am, Star Trek is not my thing therefore I never looked into how it works. I like firearms, I researched into firearms. If that's narrow minded, then I'll accept that.
The rest of what you said is purely correct and has no parts of it I could disagree with. You don't need to go into a long-winded essay to describe "This is a light weight, flexible swivil mounted machine gun that fires spent shell casings away from the pony and is aimed with some practice of body movements." in 'fluff' as some call it.
It just takes some adjectives and detail. Not that hard, in hind sight.
Anyway, time to really disappear. I've got other things I should be doing then debating the functionality of a fictional tale combining two very different settings.
I liked the previous REA one, but I think #17 goes a tad too far. >_>
ReplyDelete#1 Still not read any of the fallout Equestria stories to be honest, but they do indeed get some really awesome art. Including this one. Cool gun.
ReplyDelete#2 *insert obvious plot comment here* Berry, you're such a seducer. Even when you're not drunk. Colgate blushing is rather cute.
#3 ~Naaaaaa na na na na na na na na Katamari Damashi~ Haven't played one of those games in eons it seems. Though I loved that song. Probably played it just as much. lol Really nice series of pics these are.
#4 Dat adorkable Twilight and her mounds of books. And thanks for the hint, I never would have guessed. :P
#5 Wow, looks like neon colors. Rather pretty and vibrant.
#6 Don't have any idea what Pinkie Pie is doing there? Why, she's probably the party organizer of course! Not to mention she's Pinkie Pie. Do you think there are ever any parties taking place in Ponyville that she's not attending? :P Love Lyra sitting there snoring loudly and Derpy hovering there going "wah?". lol
#7 "they both always looking like pig heads." Aww, I think it looks fine. And it's really adorable too. Especially Spike. D'awwww, look at that face.
#8 I'm really not too sure what I happen to be standing in front of in this one. It looks kind of like a music stand. Though judging from the tags, it's some type of instrument. Looks like it has a lever/crank of some sort.
#9 Pretty nice work for 30 minutes. Cool pose and fun expression.
#10 lol Fleur wearing a Santa heat... that's something I didn't think I'd see. But at the same time, it's something I would expect to see. Confusing, I know. But it's quite cute. I wanna give her a big hug now. :3
#11 Pretty beautiful accessories she's sporting there. Especially like the one that goes up onto the base of the wings. Pretty cool. Interesting thought about her modeling fake Princess garments based off the real ones. I wouldn't be surprised if there were similar accessories to the ones Luna and Celestia wear. Afterall, Rarity was wearing a smaller crown at The Gala.
#12 Pretty nice pic. Like the colors and perspective. Sky is real nice-looking too. Especially like Twilight's mane and tail. So shiny.
#13 Of course save the best for last. :) Maybe that's what Rarity is doing with the outfit she's working on now.
#14 Aww, more Derpy and Dr Whooves. The most fun part of this image is of course reading all the titles to the books lying around. :P Some funny and clever ones too.
#15 New Luna meets old Luna. Bt aww, why fight though? You're both adorable and we love both of you. <3 I see people commenting on it being a good fight in Fighting is Magic. I could see that.
#16 Hah, that's rather funny and adorable. Fluttershy blushing though. Instantly makes anything about 50% more adorable. And she got a wing boner. lol The *pomf* up there is a cute addition. :P
ReplyDelete#17 Spitfire REALLY wants us to join the REA. And how can you say no to that... face? :) Also, dat flank. Lawl.
#18 Dat book title. lol I guess that pretty much sealed the deal on what this pic is actually about. Y'know, putting aside Twilight's bedroom eyes and oddly-loosened shirt. lol
#19 That's just a kinda cute little smile. :3
#20 Yay, Twimas! Happy Twilight is certainly very happy. :>
#21 Whoa. Dat face. So very dat face. lol She's cute... but at the same time she's kinda scaring me. Those eyes... they peer right into the depths of your soul...
#22 Fashion pic, yay! I love seeing them all dressed up in different outfits. They all look pretty good. Pinkie looks very French. x)
#23 "You're going to give people diabetes because of your cuteness." Too late. lol She's indeed very adorable.
#24 That's a unique way to go sledding. Look at Tank being so awesome down there.
#25 Ooh, very lovely. I love the background behind Fluttershy. Very nice. Kinda looks like the type of design you'd see on a shirt or maybe a postcard or such.
#26 Pinkie's smile is so bright it lightens any day.
#27 Eeyup. You made Luna art again. :P Don't be too hard on yourself though. For no one can resist the overwhelming adorable that is Luna. Plus ponies are just fun to draw of course. :)
#28 Nice Twilight pic. Nice detail on her mane.
#29 D'oh! Fluttershy, what are you doing in that tree? How is she even stuck in the tree at all for that matter? She has wings! lol But she is indeed simply too darn cute in this. <3
#30 Awww, more Fluttershy being her adorable self in a red Rudolf nose. x3
#4, #13: PurpleKecleon is a terrifically talented artist; it's nice to see them drawing ponies. Both drawings featured here, as well as the other four on the artist's tumblr, have great color and a fitting setting, with the featured pony drawn very appealingly. These are my favorites of the night.
ReplyDelete#5: Somewhat unusual style for Celestia, but I think it works well; I love how her mane and tail stretch from one corner to the opposite corner.
#6: One of the funniest drawings of the past few weeks; Lyra's posture is priceless, and Derpy's open-eyed sleep flight is so random that it fits her perfectly.
#8: Octavia playing a theramin: get on it, brony music community!
#9: Nice colors and a terrific energy in this Rainbow Dash portrait.
#12: Some beautiful colors and lighting for a sad, tense scene as Twilight rushes to Luna; very well done.
#14: I'll need to take a closer look at those books in a little while, but for now it suffices to say it's a cute drawing of one of the three most popular background pony pairings.
#17: A little saucier than last night's recruiting poster parody, but still a fun image; Spitfire's just perfect for this sort of thing.
#18: You can try to look sexy, Twilight, but you're still wonderfully adorkable.
#19: I love the soft colors and lineless style of this Twilight portrait.
#20, #21: A pair of cute Twilight Christmas drawings; I love how happy she is in #20, and the simplified uber-cute style of #21 is just hilarious.
#22: A fun series of cast portraits; I need to see if I can find them individually. Rainbow Dash and Twilight are my favorites in this series.
#23: Nice to see a happy, relaxed portrait of Rainbow Dash every now and then.
#24: I hope Dash plans on heating up Tank after that sled run; I imagine winter's less fun for cold-blooded critters.
#25: A simple but lovely portrait of Fluttershy; her pose and expression are very nicely done.
#27: It's always good to see the royal sisters just having fun together. The lighting and the clouds are excellent.
#30: Another image for my growing folder of impossibly cute drawings of Fluttershy.
@Dan Guitar-Guy Gaertner
Has there been any art of Berryshine yet?
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete#1 Very nice cover art
ReplyDelete#6 derpy doing 3 things at once...IMPOSIBRU
#7 dawwable!
#18 oh hey Twiiiiii-...nice shirt o_o;?
#22 very neat outfits!
#26 Pinkie aura of awesomeness
#29 dawwww hang in there Fluttershy!
#30 oooo cute with that red nose!
#17 That concept works very well. I could totally see the Bolts doing that sort of thing, and Spitfire's just perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteConfound these artists, they make me attracted to ponies.
Not really much I liked,
ReplyDelete#17 is this the best Equestria could muster as an armed force? The Guard treated us better because we had to fight dragons!!
Now? I'm happy now I went rouge and joined the Steel Empire
No, we are not under Celestia's rule, we're independent and have our Alicorn leader Prince Catastrophe, who is still baffled by the appearance of the other princess...
#17 Damn... Why am I attracted to this?!?
ReplyDelete#29 D'aww
#30 D'AWW OVERLOAD
Excellent drawfriend. I'm not even going to complain about the sauce this time, because despite my stance, dat Spitfire...
ReplyDelete#17 EqD officially doesn't have anything against uploading pin up pictures. Heheh.
ReplyDeleteJust thought about it, but #29 really needs a "Hang in there" caption. lol Cutest version of that poster ever. :)
ReplyDeleteThis has officially been my favourite drawfriend ever.
ReplyDelete@Octavia
ReplyDeleteThe instrument in 8 is called a Theramin. I recognized it because the keyboardist of Dragonforce plays something similar called a Kaoss Pad.
#17.... Where do I sign up? o_o
ReplyDelete@S008
ReplyDeleteI don't think they ever have. I have to admit, if this were a straight pin-up, it would be saucier than I like, but making it a recruitment poster spoof adds a context that makes it more humorous than (attempted) sexy.
Sweet new banner! Love how Pinkie's holding her forelegs high.
ReplyDeleteI got whiplash going from #18 to #21.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of nsfw doesn't hurt. Thanks for not going too explicit.
ReplyDeleteSo we've seen socks and hoodies and whatever.
ReplyDeleteI wanna see ponies wearing pants. I think it'll look pretty good on them.
holy mother of god. so.. much... AWESOME! /)^3^(\
ReplyDeletethe second one's my favorite
I died at #7
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of joining the REA, but I don't know...
ReplyDeleteI may need another Spitfire poster to convince me. or 2. OR 7.
Guys, Fallout: Equestria is worth all of your time. Seriously, its writing is sublime. And if you can suspend disbelief enough for an earth pony being able to tie a lasso with her tongue in a fraction of a second, you can handle FoE.
ReplyDeleteAnd Project Horizons. Both are some of the best writing I've ever come across -- and this is coming from a lit major and librarian.
(And, for a side-fic, "Heroes" is fantastic.)
@DeRockProject
ReplyDeleteLike this or this or this?

ReplyDelete!!!Stupid Sexy Twilight Overload!!!
ReplyDelete@jodyjm13
ReplyDeleteOh, umm... That's not what I had in mind. Something more...uhh, less silly :/ I thought they'd look more badass. XD
#18 Twi is starting to grow on me. Applejack is still and I reckon always will be my favorite, but Twilight is fighting Rarity for 2nd place.
ReplyDelete@DeRockProject
ReplyDeleteYou may have noticed by now that I do tend to gravitate towards the silly side of the fandom... Having said that, I'm sure there's been a few badass ponies-in-pants drawings, but that Lyra I posted was the best I could find in my 60-second search.
@jodyjm13
ReplyDeleteXD Ya, I know. I just love serious stuff. XD No, you dont' have to go around looking things for me. I'm thanksful for what ya found! XD I never said they look bad of course. Not at all. Just not my style!
I didn't double-check the comments, but because of this being Fo:E Edition...
ReplyDelete#15- "Isn't that unicorn foreplay?"
So much Twilight Sparkle! (and I'm okay with that)
Oh... Fallout side stories need good art? Well shit... I guess I'll get started on that.
lol Neighgas. is that supposed to sound like what i think it sounds like?

ReplyDeleteFluttershy's first WINGBONER = EPIC WIN
@Gentleman Otter
ReplyDeletePonies can't talk either.
Yes, it's a pun on New Vegas, apparently. I may be drawn in to reading some FO:E sidestories after all.
ReplyDeleteAs for the actual Drawfriends, I liked a lot of these pictures. #s 14 and 18 stand out in my mind especially, however, 14 because of all those book titles, which was a joy to read(even if there is a Cupcakes among them...) and 18 because it confuses me and I don't know how to respond to it.
Spitfire is officially prettiest pony.
ReplyDelete@jodyjm13
ReplyDeletePurpleKecleon is indeed a very talented artist. I have known her online and followed her Pokemon art for seven or eight years now, I believe? We've obviously both grown in that time but she has always been far more talented than I (alas). Suffice to say that I recognized her work immediately and even though I've never seen her create any pony fanart before... I suppose it was only a matter of time before she tried her hand at it as well!
I'm sad that her Applejack piece wasn't one of the ones featured in the Drawfriend as it's arguably my favorite, but they're all fantastic of course.
#3 I know this guy had a Twilight Sparkle artwork up here several night ago that I liked quite a lot... I've never seen any of his other more questionable pieces that it sounds like he is better known for, so I don't have an opinion on that. I DO like this piece though. Very interesting, almost elegant interpretation of Rainbow Dash, and I love the glossy shiny coloring job, so pretty! What is that little guy down there beside her, though?
#4 Yes yes, I knew this was PK the instant I laid eyes on it... she just has the most fantastic ability to convey a distinct sense of atmosphere in all of her works. Despite the fact that it's such a quick artwork and somewhat roughly colored (I do not mean this as a detraction), I can almost smell the musty aroma of old books! Love it. <3
#5 The colors of this piece are so bright and saturated that it almost reminds me of an old Lisa Frank piece or something, but somehow with the sunset background that really works very nicely here. Pretty!
#7 Oh how incredibly adorable is that. While I don't ship these two together the way many people seem to be into these days (I think the romantic affection is one-sided, let's put it that way), I still love the tender sweetness of this and the pretty soft coloring style. Very cute!
#8 Octavia's expression!
#11 Ooooh, nice attention to detail on all of that studded jewelry. ^.^ I should try drawing some Fleur fanart one of these days.
#12 I'm not really sure what's going on in this picture but that's okay, it's still quite lovely regardless. Very nice colors here and I especially love the background; clouds can be so surprisingly tricky sometimes but this artist did a beautiful job! Very nice piece.
#13 Eeeee not only is this a nice PK work, but it's also a great little capture of Rarity at work, which I always adore seeing! <3 This picture makes me so incredibly happy~ =^.^=
#14 I can only imagine how must fun this artist must have had with titling all those books (or perhaps not; it was probably surprisingly time-consuming!). Interesting idea and composition on this piece, and my favorite thing is definitely the background.
#17 I agree with many of the people above, Spitfire is surprisingly well-suited for this.
#18 Oh dear, I'm not quite sure what to make of that expression but I don't think I like you looking at me that way, Twilight.
#22 Haha, how cute and funny are these! I do believe Applejack might be my favorite (nice horseshoes, darling), though I also LOVE Pinkie's entire ensemble and Fluttershy's outfit. Even though I'm not sure how well the latter's suits her. Oh yes and I like the way this artist drew Rarity's tail. Overall, a very fun little piece.
#23 D'aww, Rainbow just looks so incredibly happy here!
#24 I love the idea behind this piece, too cute and funny!
#25 This is really pretty, it definitely looks like a nice holiday greeting card or something. I like the texture a lot.
#29 A little bit random, but I like this a lot. Fluttershy's expression is just too endearing! ^.^
A very nice Drawfriend, overall! I haven't had the free time to comment or even look at many of them over the past week or two, so it's especially nice to see such a lovely compilation this evening.
White Diamonds, the little guy is from Katamari Damacy. How I know that without having actually played the games, I'm not sure, but I do.

ReplyDeletewelp. My heart just exploded.
And then it exploded again.
O.O, "Oh twi... If Ditsy found ou... OH I mean, I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to help you with that." XD
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures I dare say. Been a while since i have been checking the Drawfriends... I got ALOT of Catching up to do!
Dat number 18, watch as I magically make the front of my ordinary jeans grow.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy with a wingboner...
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a first.
I find it difficult to believe it hadn't done before.
@Kyronea
ReplyDeleteOh okay... well thank you so much for letting me know then! It's no wonder I've never even heard of that before if it's a video game... I'm not much of a gamer you see, or at least not these days.
Lovin' this batch. #14's easily my favorite, though, just because of the detail that went into the background.
ReplyDelete"The Importance of Sitting" by Lyra Heartstrings - If this isn't the most important book in history, I don't know what is.
I'm pretty sure this means Spitfire earns Best Pony for a day or so.
ReplyDeleteit's all pretty good.
ReplyDelete@WhiteDiamonds
ReplyDeleteSure thing. I'm happy to have helped.
A theremin! Finally an instrument a pony realistically could play! (Sweet Celestia, I'm a geek)
ReplyDeleteNext, someone needs to do art of Scratch playing a Musical Tesla Coil. (aka. a Zeusaphone)
#17 FTW!!!
ReplyDeleteIT'S GOT A PHALLIC SYMBOL AND EVERYTHING!
WELL DONE TO KEEP UP WITH THE HISTORICAL/CULTURAL ACCURACY OF WAR PROPAGANDA.
Number 18...
ReplyDeleteOh my god, is that a copy of "Obscure Unicorn History"?
#21 mah diabeetus!
ReplyDelete6. Looks like a wild party, wish I could've attended.
ReplyDelete8 Don't know why, but Octavia looks none too pleased.
10. Who is a silly pony?
13. A little rough, but really like this one a lot.
27. Them some smug flanked princesses.
29. Dawww, but it's still not Friday yet.
Glad to see "Heroes" made it, No One! -:D
ReplyDelete@Calbeck haha thanks. I was might surprised to see the cover here but its been bringing people over so I am not complaining.
ReplyDeleteAre you ever going to write more? I've been waiting for the rest of the latest chapter.
This is an especially good Drawfriend, nice work you artist ponies. Fallout: Equestria pics are sweet, I should really get around to reading it (I love the games).
ReplyDelete#18 OMG... TWILIGHT SPARKLE let me have your babieeeees!
Octavia playing a theremin.... I like.
ReplyDelete"So many pretty colors :3" edition!
ReplyDelete#17 makes me hate myself. So, so much.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great Drawfriend, hard to find to choose my favourites :)
ReplyDeleteOh and loving the new banner (Y)
ReplyDelete#17 makes me want to put a shotgun in my mouth
ReplyDeleteIm losing a lot of respect for EQD when they don't censor plot.
too many saucy without saucy warning. Again.
ReplyDeleteOk, 8 is the greatest thing ever: i can see her playing Whole Lotta Love.
10 and 21 are good too.
29 and 30 are cute.
15 is perfect as a title pic for the terrible, gollum-esque fanfic I'm writing with crazy NMM/Luna on the moon. Curse you NegativeFox for being on a site I dislike, have no account on, and thus can't ask for permission to use it!
ReplyDelete*Flails fists wildly and ineffectively at the sky*
