I LOVE it. Probably getting one for my boyfriend for Christmas. It's perfect.
Was a bit disappointed in these choices. Don't get me wrong, the Flutterjerk is probably the only best one, since I voted for it, too. But, I personally felt CrappyUnicorn's oriental-styled Discord deserved a win. The design was quite creatively well-done.

There were definitely much better entries that deserve to win, in my honest opinion.

I voted 5s for the Rainbow Dash peek shirt, and for the fluttershy your face shirt, though. Those are definitely awesome.

That is a nice selection of shirts. Love the Fluttershy one (oustanding job, pixelkitties!), and the Trixie one is pretty cool looking. I like the Dash one as well, but it's not really for me.

ReplyDeleteThe most I was expecting was maybe a runner-up spot, if I was lucky. Not first place!!
I'm absolutely floored. I did not deserve to win, that's for sure. There were so many other amazing entries that should've won instead, like the Pony Singularity (not even an honorable mention, what?), Ponies Go!, and that Trixie one above.
Also, I would've totally fixed Dash's eye, had someone mentioned it to me. Nobody ever pointed it out beforehand, though, so I assumed it was fine.
I was about to buy something with the 10% off coupon too. That ad was what brought me to we love fine in the first place, I think it would be better for everyone if it was reinstated.

That Flutterbitch shirt is awesome. I might just buy that one when I finally get around to buying a pony shirt. The other one were... Well, they were good, but not as great as I was expecting after the last design contest. I'd also like to point out that they did a shadowbolts version of the wonderbolts shirt from last time and I think Dash looks better with her eye like that. Just saying.

I must say, I did not expect to see Trixie's design there, I mean there were a couple Trixie themed designs out there that were simply MUCH better than this, I see it too overloaded, too many things in one design, indeed looks more as a poster than a shirt.
But the other two are awesome, I personally thought the "pony pocket" one was gonna be the first hehe
I also love how almost none of the shirt that won followed the contests guidelines, as they are all bigger, or out of the place they asked people to put the designs in. "Place design in the box" my ass xD

ReplyDeleteI understand there is some disappointment in the contest winners during this round. I wanted to clear the air just a bit about the process. WLF gave us a selection of contest entries and we selected the top 5 choices. Of those WLF then chose our winners likely based off votes, the image printability, etc. The Trixie shirt was certainly in our list and Chef and I stand by the pick. I think it's a well made shirt.
Don't take this in any way as us slagging on WLF. We love those guys and they gave us the opportunity to judge a contest for them which was awesome. Sometimes the things you want most don't win. Starry Night had one design she really loved which didn't make it. In the end - instead of being big grumpy-lumps about which choices were made and instead look at how awesome it is that we can have a contest like this and celebrate those who did win for their accomplishments?

The winners always get a little bit of flack from people who were strong boosters of other contenders, but it's a big accomplishment to have a professional company that knows their business pick your design as the one they want to go with. I think Dash's expression is fun, myself, as are the concept and execution of the whole design.

As I stated in my own opinion, I thought there were other MUCH BETTER designs that should have won, instead. I love Flutterjerk made it, but that was about it.
Each of us are biased and have our own opinion. So, of course we have our own preferences for shirt choices, let alone winners.
For me, I would have just liked to have seen more creative or nicer designs have won. Flutterjerk was within this category for me, at least. Again, I'm just going on my own biased opinion. I was just more surprised with the results, than anything.
71$ for one shirt and postage to Sweden. Ouch.

For international people: the default postage costs are insane, but that's for ups tracking. There's another option for cheaper postage, think I paid $38 for a shirt, and as the dollar's pretty much the only currency the pound is strong against right now, that's like £25, which ain't bad for shirt + intl shipping.

What I don't understand is why guidelines and rules were given if the judges don't enforce them and pick them as the winners. That's not to say that they weren't good designs; they were beautiful. Just next time enforce the rules rather than limit our creativity then yank the rug out from under our feet in favor of ones that broke regulations.
