This is actually an insert from one of the boxes. Apparently a Spike toy is on the way for those that are into the whole... taking care of babies thing. It also includes the train set that was posted on Taobao a while back, and more mixed up Cutie Mark Crusaders. I'm not really sure how they keep doing that!
This is from a thread on MLP arena. There aren't any release dates planned for the new stuff that I can see.
And in other news, it sounds like Hasbro has plans to release Lunchware, Drinkware, and "Lighting" based on MLP in 2012. No clue on what exactly these are, but they are apparently in production from a company called Spearmark. The main article for this can be found here. Thanks to Zephyr for the heads up on that!

DAT SPIKE
ReplyDeleteFirst?
ReplyDeleteOMG Rainbow Dash really does dress in style!!
ReplyDeletedamn!
ReplyDeleteThat spike looks horrible, burn it.
ReplyDeletewho the hell is Ploomette?!
ReplyDeleteWhy you know what your own characters look like Hasbro?
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm just getting my hopes up.
ReplyDeleteBut that Celestia looks white to me.
Eh, I'll pass. xD
ReplyDeleteMore proof that the toy division can be trusted to come up with canon names. I go by HUB and Studio B only.
ReplyDeleteCant*
ReplyDeleteUrgh. They need better spike toys. He's my baby bro's favorite ;-;
ReplyDeleteWhite Celestia, YESSSS
ReplyDeleteI thought it said Sweet Slumbers with Applejack and Starscream and got really excited.
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out why the toy division doesn't seem to understand what they could gain from attempting to somewhat match the show.
ReplyDeleteWhatever, I'm here for the show, the art, the stories, etc. I probably wouldn't buy the toys even if they were accurate.
Applejack and Starscream set would be pretty boss.
ReplyDeleteOH MY, a infant Spike? I see the talking Pinkie Pie everyday I go to work. It's not my cup of tea, but not as scary as the previous gens. So when I walk by and it talks, it always makes me smile or laugh. But, Spike?? Dude...that's creepy.
ReplyDeleteMuhahahaha Rainbow Dash! She has taken "Dresses in Style" to a whole new level.
And the Celestia..not sure if white or if bad quality image trolling and hiding the fact that she's still pink.
YUS fashion rainbow dash!
ReplyDelete@Flutterfan
ReplyDeleteUrk, MY EYES
Does anyone remember Conan O'Brien's "Actual items" bit?
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the little girl would be so perfect for that.
"The perfect toy to distract your daughter while you abandon her!!"
Bit lazy, the names are still mismatched, spike looks awful and though I can't quite tell from the picture I still look pink or pink tinted.
ReplyDeleteCelestia is not amused.
Star Dreams? Ploomette? And I mean, Star Dreams sounds like a good name, but it's just weird when every other pony toy there is a cast character (Apple Bloom and Scootaloo switching aside)
ReplyDelete...
ReplyDelete........
Rainbow Dash! What are you wearing?!?! IT'S LIKE SHE HAS BOWS MADE OUT OF PARASPRITES RANDOMLY STUCK IN HER HAIR WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT
I think it might be white Celestia!
ReplyDeleteMe and my two friends are planning to get the "School Pals" set when it finally comes out and splitting it up amongst ourselves. I get Sweetie Belle, one of them gets Scootaloo and the last Apple Bloom.
ReplyDeleteWe have yet to decide who gets Cheerilee.
What is up with the toys being so... creepy and inaccurate? Is it so hard to make a toy look like it isn't a zombie?
ReplyDelete@nekosd43
ReplyDeleteYou're not going blind. It looks white to me too.
That and the fact that they've at least learned to maintain a vague sense of anatomical correctness with the baby dolls is enough of a silver lining for me to dealwithit.jpg about all the other screwups.
Probably try to get the CMC, and make them look as good as I can, already did it with the others and I am a insane twitchy completionest. (missing blindbag fluttershy keeps me up at night...)
ReplyDeleteCreepy Spike, Rainbow Dash dressing in style, Pinkie Pie on a train, Scootaloo has no wings, and Applejack having a sleep over with somepony who doesn't exist.
ReplyDeleteWAT.
>Fashion Ponies
ReplyDelete>Rainbow Dash
Does anyone see Dash going insane/having a mental breakdown if she saw this?
Also, Cutie Mark Crusader Fail Namers, Yay!
Now we know the origin of the new intro sequence.
ReplyDeleteHasbro: Remember how we asked you to put a balloon in there so we could sell it?
Studio B: Sure.
Hasbro: Add a train. Trains are gonna be huge this year. Also, make one car look like a cupcake or an ice cream cone or something.
Studio B: Okay guys, we've gotta slap a train over the intro sequence so Hasbro can sell more toys. They want a cupcake car. Here's the plan: muffin car. Derpy. Let's do this.
First, renaming. Then, OOC characters. Also, Pinklestia.
ReplyDeleteSRSLY, Hasbro.
I can't be the only one who's ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED at every single one of these toys, can I?
ReplyDeletegg hasbro
ReplyDeleteHasbro: Applejack wears a hat? nah.
Hasbro: Spike is now a quadruped
Hasbro: Scootaloo is a Pegasus? nope.avi
allmyrage.jpg
Woo WHITE Celestia!
ReplyDeleteI made it into an EQD article?! Woooooo!
ReplyDeleteI am WAY too excited about this! XD
That Celestia is white with pink highlights -just like the show- or that image is fucking with us?
ReplyDeleteDat train <3
That spike is not horrible. Refer to Cutie Mark Chronicle. That baby spike is very accurate.
And I see that Rainbow Dash have no clue how to dress in style. This will make Rarity faint.
Speaking of which, Glimmer Wings Rarity is awesome! Makes me go "WAHA-HA!"
Rarity with butterfly wings?! I WANT IT NAO!!
ReplyDeleteGuys, Rainbow Dash ALWAYS dresses in style. Fact.
Is that a white Celestia? Also going on my "To Buy" list if she is.
Would purchase CMCs as well if "Applebloom" had wings. Right now, eeenope!
Oh my Celestia, I want the Glimmer Wings Rarity, the Pinkie Pie train set, Cheerilee, and most importantly Scootaloo!
ReplyDeleteRAINBOW DASH ALWAYS DRESSES IN STYLE~
ReplyDeleteHoly crap... They made celestia white?(i think) The models look a bit better, too. Thumbs up for that, hasbro. You're actually improving...
ReplyDeleteWait... Why are scootaloo and applebloom's name switched? O_o
WTF, dude? What happened to spike? D:
Glimmer wings rarity looks good... The train looks nice. The rest... errrrhhh... Nah.
White Celestia yay
ReplyDeleteI think this just proves the point that the toys have absolutely no bearing on canon.
ReplyDeleteDear God those are bad.
There is an actual spike pictured in the bottom center. I guess Cutie mark Chronicles included (baby)baby spike for JUST THIS REASON.
ReplyDeleteWait wait wait wait wait wait wait. Is that not Pinklestia?
ReplyDeletemotherofgod.jpg
Ahhh...
ReplyDeleteHasbro can't into its own franchise.
Looks like Celestia finally got that full-body bleaching she's been talking about.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is the first Twilight Sparkle figure to be sold with the Element of Magic? (bottom middle) Are they going to have Element Bearer figures for the other Mane 6? Might be cool.
ReplyDeleteNow we know why the WTF Train? was added to the opening for season two.
ReplyDeleteDem Royal Castle Friends... Mostly-white brushable Celestia? Twilight with Element-of-Magic Big-Crown-Thingy? Do want!
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like this is the first assortment of toys to actually have some (slight) relationship to the show. A butterfly-winged Rarity, a (seemingly) white Celestia, an infant Spike, Twilight with her big crown thingie...
ReplyDeleteNothing I want to buy, mind you, but it does at least seem like the toy division has started to be influenced by the show rather than it always being a one-way street.
Glimmer Wings Rarity needs a button to make her say "Look upon me Equestria, for I am Rarity!" and "WaHAHA!". It'll never happen but it would be cool.
ReplyDeleteAlso I like that Twilight gets her big crown thingie (also known as the Element of Magic)
Hasbro does not care which crusader is which. Even though they basically just made the show so they could sell more toys. *double facehoof* But at least you can get Twilight with her element tiara!
ReplyDeleteThis... I... What...
ReplyDeleteOk, I assume they did all their fancy research and everything that points out that this is the correct course to go from a long term financial standpoint... Oh who am I kidding.
We really need to send a collective letter or something because apparently the toy division still doesn't realize there's bronies.
They...managed to mislabel Scootaloo as Apple Bloom and vice versa.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
Not that I could afford to buy them or anything, but even if I could, I don't know if I would. Some of these toys just strike me as totally souless, lazy marketing. I just don't want to think about these toys anymore. All they do is dampen my spirits. >.<
Oh yeah, they switched up the names of Scootaloo and Applebloom down there I see. Someone wasn't paying close attention. That's funny. :P
ReplyDeleteLook at those fashion style ponies. RD is REALLY dressing in... something there. lol
Celestia looks a little closer to her "true" color, which is actually a very light lavender. Still looks slight pink in the picture, but you know.
Wait, they are releasing Rarity with butterfly wings? Are they doing that because of the Sonic Rainboom episode or did they ask for that scene or was it a happy accident that just worked out? My brain hurts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a brony, but I'm a manly brony. Someone has to say it, these toys are too girly. Plus they're inaccurate, we all know scootaloo is orange with purple mane, not pale yellow with scarlet mane.
ReplyDelete@DatBrony
ReplyDeletewell, newborn spike IS canon :/
But... I never said anything.
ReplyDeleteThis can only mean one thing…
I have an evil twin running around.
Whoever the FUCK cut off Scootaloo's wings and named her Apple Bloom better get fired.
ReplyDeleteI can see the people in charge of this now. "Look, we got Celestia's color right! And now you complain because we got some of the names mixed up? What does it take to please you people??" (I just hope they sell the CMC as a set, so that it doesn't matter that much who gets named what. But still, when you make an error so badly that the target audience is going to mock you over... um, yeah.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, here's your proof that the sock meme is dead. AJ has a toy that wears them, and nopony notices.
@Laurence Brown
ReplyDeleteIf only! Those are bedroom slippers (which are "show canon" - see, e.g., Suited for Success).
I saw a dress-up Rainbow Dash I think...
ReplyDeletedo I have to make the joke?
...fiiine -_-.
Rainbow Dash always dresses in style.
Has there ever been a toy line more completely divorced from its TV show than this one?
ReplyDeleteAlso, best description ever of that Rainbow Dash fashion doll is that she looks like a dollar store threw up on her.
well i was hoping they would rool out the rest of the fashion line....but the "glimer wings" should have been reserved for rarity
ReplyDeletei still am actualy suprised they havnt given charlie a school house and then release some of the kids
I was going to put a whole wall of text on here, but I'll cut it short:
ReplyDeleteLol bad.
There, I said it. These toys are the worst possible thing, have nothing to really do with the show, inaccurate (who the hell mixed up Scootaloo with Apple Bloom?), and cater to the typical girly My Little Pony image that we have had to endure with before Friendship is Magic came out.
That being said, I'm not surprised, it IS Hasbro after all, I just prefer seeing things that this fandom makes. Whether it be custom ponies, plushies, all the various sorts of merchandise, fanfics, comics, etc.
Well, at least Celestia isn't pink...
ReplyDeleteYou know, the more I see this "Glimmer Wings RD", the more I see a perfect episode story about being yourself.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be surprised if FiM actually does that.
For a company based around selling their toys, Hasbro sucks at selling toys. They get everything about their characters wrong, fuck up their names, and make them look nothing like from the show. Maybe one day they will stop being retarded and just, you know, make the characters in sets with molded hair so they don't look stupid. Come on Hasbro.
ReplyDeleteAnd why the hell is that stuff going to Europe. Can you at least remember you have a large non-European fanbase. A really large one. Hopefully, with time, they will stop sucking.

oh FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ;O;
Rainbow Dash always dresses in style once more? XD' lol.
ReplyDeleteAt least the white Celestia is one improvement..I've always wanted Cheerilee and the CMC all in one together as well. c: Hasbro should really just watch the TV show, though..
I think there should be an episode where some new character tries to cash in on the Mane 6's fame as the Elements of Harmony by making horrible, unlicensed merchandise that looks nothing like them and constantly confuses details like names, personalities, or appearances.
ReplyDeleteThen maybe some of all this would be able to make sense.
@Magnus the Blue
ReplyDeletePsssst. Hasbro is really, really good at selling toys. That's why they are a multibillion dollar toy company. They are just not good at selling toys to you.
I would really love to see a toy series made in collaboration with Studio B. Just.....just so inaccurate D:
ReplyDeleteI was going to post something about Rainbow Dash and style, but I see all of you have done that for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is now a comment about how Pinkie Pie likes trains.
Rainbow Dash always dresses in style
ReplyDeleteA picnic with Cheerille? Strangely tempting.
ReplyDeleteGlimmer Wing Rarity is a sly inclusion, it should be popular among the girls who watch the show and can actually remember the episodes.
Whereas Glimmer Wing Rainbow Dash just strikes me as hilariously redundant.
Speaking of Rainbow Dash, are they selling her as a fashion style version because they've got leftover G3 ponies to sell, or is it - gasp - a subtle nod to the 'Dresses in Style!!' meme? Maybe a little of both. As for Pinkie, I suppose she was chosen because she was pink, because logically Rarity would be the one to make a fashion toy out of.
Woo Celestia just might be white this time around! And Twilight's got the Element of Magic, that's a cute touch.
As for the CMC mixup - eh. It's a typo, big deal.
Final thought... who the heck is Star Dreams? And why is Applejack slumbering with her?
... you know what? I don't want to know.
All those in favor of replacing the toy design staff at Hasbro with true bronies, say 1
ReplyDeleteAll those in favor of out sourcing the toy production to a company that'll get it right, say 2
DO NOT WANT.
ReplyDelete*Insert picture of Twilight punching computer screen*
Rainbow Dash always dresses in style
ReplyDeleteYou think they could make toys that look like their own characters.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Rainbow Dash have a chicken? Spoiler for upcoming episode perhaps???
ReplyDeleteFlojo dressed in style, fighter pilots usually have style, fast cars and planes have style.
ReplyDeleteSo aside from the RD fashion doll looking like an explosion at an anime ink factory, the basic idea isn't bad. It's the execution that's faulty, as Rarity would tell you.
I almost didn't notice that Scootaloo and Apple Bloom were mixed up, because their colors are kind of similar.
ReplyDeleteWhoawhoawhoa... is that a WHITE Celestia!? Or, at least a less violent pink one? With her crown AND chest piece!? And Twilight with her Big Crown Thingy!? Want.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little impressed that Twilight is actually wearing her element big crown thingy.
ReplyDeleteSweetie Belle: "I really hate their manes."
ReplyDeleteSpike looks like the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
ReplyDelete*Twitch*
ReplyDelete*Twitch*
*facepalm + headdesk* WHY HASBRO...? WHY?? What did you do to Apple bloom and Scootaloo???????????? D:
ReplyDeleteApplebloom is Scootaloo is a Chicken is Pinkie Pie is a Genius is Twilight Sparkle is Crazy is Pinkamina is Making Cupcakes is Applebloom.
ReplyDeleteBy the transitive property we discover that mislabeled Applebloom is correctly labeled Applebloom.
I've given up on Hasbro ever getting their hair right.
ReplyDeleteDAT TRAINSET.
And Pinkie Pie should come with Gummy.
Pretty sure Celestia's still pink as ever - compare her shot with those of Rarity and Sweetie Belle.
ReplyDeleteBesides, the Hasbro reps at the Q&A at MLPCon in July made it clear they have no intention of turning Celestia white, since pink demonstrably sells better to their core audience of little girls shopping at stores:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-7-UM04ZRg
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo don't look that similar! You'd expect the advertisers to at least try to get this right!
ReplyDeleteThe Fashion Style Ponies look gaudy and...is that a White Celestia!? Don't mean to sound uncouth, but I think I just came.
My review
ReplyDeleteCelestia: Finally they got it right!
CMC: HASBRO why you mix up everything?!
Spike: am I the only one that thinks he looks cute?
top mane cast: Alright I guess, Not enough hair on Pinkie's though
Glimer wings: WTF
Fashion style: NOOOO RAINBOWDASH NOOOOO
Train: Thats pretty cool, though are Hasbro using the intro (with the train) as a marketing sceam? Or does it have any point (intro train)
Other: Who the hell is Ploomette and Stardreams?
NOTICE: Applebloom and Scootaloo's names are switched.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the train I now understand the reason behind the train being added to the opening sequence. This makes me very nervous about Hasbro demanding that the Pinkie Pie Remote Control Car be featured in a episode for marketing. Sure Pinkie inexplicably driving a modern automobile could work as a random throwaway joke that would fit her character of doing completely random things that somehow have a purpose, but it would also establish cars as being cannon in Equestria, thus ruining the pseudo post-medieval setting of the show.
ReplyDelete
