Because of this, a new project has started up to thank her for this crazy pony train many of us have been riding for over a year now.
After the break is Purple Tinker's short copy paste about it, along with a movie explaining the entire idea in a bit better detail.
We're all here because we love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic-- and we love the community which has built up around this show, a community which could not exist without this show. Likewise, this show could not exist without the inspiration and efforts of the amazing Ms. Lauren Faust.
Nobody else could have done the job that Lauren did. It's as simple as that. While she was surrounded by, and supported by, countless highly talented animators, voice actors, musicians, composers, singers, artists, and more, she was the one who got this particular ball rolling. The show bears the indelible marks of her creative vision, and hopefully it always will– because Lauren Faust's vision is a unique and wonderful thing, a bright spark in the animation field and in our pop culture in general.
Accordingly, the BroNYCon staff are starting an effort to show Ms. Faust just how much she is appreciated, via a collection of short fan-submitted testimonials. The idea is simple; you sit in front of a camera and tell it how Lauren Faust's work has changed your life for the better. Then you submit it to a Youtube thread, et voila.
A "press release" can be located here, and the introductory video is embedded below
Happy videoing, everypony!

Wow, I liked this
ReplyDeleteSecond, I think. But this is awesome, XD
ReplyDeleteHalfway point of season 2?
ReplyDeleteI'm cool.
ReplyDelete@Sanguine
ReplyDeleteQuick question is your name reference to a character in Fallout Equestria:Project Horizons?
She deserves it all and more, for bringing something wonderful to this world, and for giving many of us a means through which we can express our creativity. Writers and composers, artists and remixers...
ReplyDeleteShe has done this darkening world a favor. =)
@SkyTower
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought there were 26 episodes.
You mean we haven't already done numerous things to try and thank Lauren and the rest of the crew? :P
ReplyDeleteBut still, it's a nice thought. I'm sure Lauren will appreciate any thanks she gets for the work she's put into the show. She enjoys what she does and she knows it makes others who watch her shows happy. :)
I really liked this :D
ReplyDeleteI thought season 2 is 24 episodes, and tomorrow episode 6 comes out. I'm pretty sure 1/2 of 24 isn't 6.
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteNah. This is just the name I post as for most stuff, and the name of my OC.
I shall be doing this!
ReplyDeleteWe love you lauren
ReplyDelete@Sanguine
ReplyDeleteAh okay just wondering
Thank you, Lauran, for all of the work you've put into this for us. Keep up the good work and know we're right behind you all the way.
ReplyDeleteFor whatever it means, I support this. Thanks, Lauren.
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter which nationality you are to do this? I'm sure it won't matter and that's a silly question I know but I'm very interested in taking part in this too. :D
ReplyDeletewow i'm liking this idea
ReplyDeleteThank you lauren :D
Wait! Lauren died!?
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I might do one...but I'm not sure what to say.
ReplyDeleteAt the least, Thanks, Lauren for your work in the past, and I wish you future success in the present (SBFFs) and the Future (I even got a MWGG doll! They're all so adorable!)
ReplyDeleteI would like to help ^_^ My english is not so good actually im mexican but i can make a video and some drawings for her!!
ReplyDeleteSaludos desde Mexico! -brohoof-
Oh! Forgot to say, that if i would make a video it would be on spanish, i stink when i speak english x3!! if thats not a problem..
ReplyDeleteHalfway point? We're not even one fifth of the way done with season 2.
ReplyDeleteWe're halfway through Season 2?
ReplyDelete...
Is it sursprising/sad to know that I cried when I read that?
What a great idea! I'll definitely be doing one as soon as I get access to a camera.
ReplyDeleteWe're not reaching the half-way point... Are we? D:
ReplyDeleteI think we need a bit more explanation on the whole, half way thing.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Wikipedia, there are 26 episodes in season 6, just like in season 1.
ReplyDelete6 is not half of 26. It's 3/13ths or 23%.
We ain't even a quarter there, Seth.
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteA long time ago, the wiki only listed 13 episodes. Let's hope this isn't a 13 episode season! T^T
Yeah, we've still got a ways to go.
ReplyDeleteI loved this and posted a response, I'm unsure if it'll get added, and I wish I could actually go to BroNYcon, maybe next summer.
@ScootaChicken
ReplyDeleteWhich wiki? THE wiki or one of the pony wikis? Either way, it says 26 now, and it hasn't been changed back to 13, so that sounds more likely.
Besides, it would be idiotic from a money perspective to make a big seller like this show only have a half season.
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteIt was shortly after the season 2 pilot episodes aired, I think.
But the fact that's it's been changed should mean otherwise.
...Ofcourse, Seth gets news about EVERYTHING, so... shrugpony.jpg
I like his totoro poster in the background.
ReplyDeleteReminds me a lot of the, "It Gets Better" project. I'm in! =D
ReplyDeleteI miiiight make one. I dunno, my Youtube is strictly for my Let's plays...
ReplyDeleteI'm a little iffy about the whole recording myself idea. If I wasn't remarkably camera shy I'd be in, but I am camera shy, soo... D:
ReplyDeleteI'd be pretty iffy about recording myself, but I will think about it.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I'm going to thank her by watching the crap out of her new series when it drops.
Sorry Joss Whedon - Lauren Faust is my master (err, mistress) now. (For reference: http://store.pvponline.com/products/joss-whedon-is-my-master-now-tee)
The show is awesome, she is awesome, that's all I can say and I don't think it's enough to make a video of me saying that.
ReplyDeleteNever was good with lengthy speeches.
@Stray
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with you on this one. I hate going on camera and even getting my picture taken. If I could send in a typed response I'd write the woman a damn novel. But this, ehhh... I might.
nobel peace prize anyone?
ReplyDeleteAnyone confused about the halfway point remark probably shouldn't worry. If i may, take a look at this post
ReplyDeletehttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/05/season-2-has-both-24-and-26-episodes.html
I'd think someone like Daniel Ingram would know.
Recorded, posted, replied. A chance to personally thank Lauren for her hard work and brilliance? I can't pass that up.
ReplyDelete"While we aren't doomed now that she has moved on, we can't forget that she was the primary driving force to it's creation."
ReplyDeleteI'm still scared that at some point primary aspects of the show might change to a degree that would cause me to be unable to enjoy ponies any further. I don't know whether the chances of MLP:FiM corruption are slim or not, but the concept of it actually happening will probably be in the back of my mind for a long time.
I just posted a video that is some audio and a background picture, as I am also very camera shy.
ReplyDeleteI really hope she sees it!
Where do we send the videos and by what date? Just to EQD "submit?"
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! :)
ReplyDelete@ultraspacemobile
ReplyDeleteMake a video response to the youtube video in the original post by bronycon
@septicartblogger
ReplyDeleteFor a minute I thought the same, but this is too quiet for that...
I would suggest that the "now that she has passed on" should be edited, did something happened with her?
it sounds like she died, or she is moving, or she abandoned the series...
This is absolutely AWESOME! I'll do it for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm a pegasis and writer in Brazil and I'm certain that Lauren Faust changed my life! ^__^
I'll translate that post to portuguese and will spread the word for bronies and pegasis from Brazil, Ok? (I have a blog for MLP: FiM brazilian fans http://equestriabr.wordpress.com and I always mention EqD as source, of course.)
Uploading my response on youtube right now. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. What Lauren would probably appreciate the most is to hear from parents with young daughters and big brother's with little sisters. Remember she designed FiM to appeal to girls and I bet she would like to know that her beliefs that creating cartoons for little girls are profitable and that they can handle more complexity in their cartoons are correct.
ReplyDeleteYou right, this is actually a really good idea.. nonfaith rehab
