• PMV: Friendship Ends With You

I really did try to get into "The World Ends with You", but the whole fashion thing sort of threw me off a bit.  I might give it another shot now that I have Rarity to back it up.

Anyway, have a really neat PMV based on one of the songs from the game's really well done soundtrack.

    1. The fashion element was basically just a bit of flavor for the equipment system, which isn't fundamentally very different from the way RPGs usually work. With a couple of rare exceptions, you can pretty much ignore trends/brands/etc. most of the time.

Also Three Minutes Clapping is the best song in the game. I approve.

    2. I like how it's gotten to the point where we've broken over 70,000,000 hits and there's no longer even a banner or post about it. lol.

    3. Ah hell I just realized posted the comment to the youtube video instead... facehoof

anyway the fashion system does have an impact on combat but you can pretty much ignore it until you are forced to change the fashion in the district to continue the game.

    4. We need more of these. Somepony do Twister!

    5. That's pretty awesome. It makes me really wish I had a better video editing program.

    6. Not real familiar with the game or the song unfortunately. But I like the song. It was a good PMV. :)

    7. I freakin love whoever made this. Seriously, The World Ends With You was one of THE BEST games on the DS and the fusion between these two worlds make something just too epic for words. The world begins and ends with you my friends. Push your horizons as far as they'll go and you can never say you lead an unfulfilled life.

    8. Pretty good, though I personally always preferred either Game Over or Everything And... (the bonus track).

      VastaKustuta
    9. My all time favorite DS game combined with one of my favorite cartoons, awesome. This was a good PMV, I can only imagine who would be the ponified version of Minamimoto.

      VastaKustuta
    10. Three Minutes Clapping is one of my favorite songs. TWEWY is one of my favorite games. Mixed with ponies, it's like the ultimate thing ever.

    11. @thattagen
If someone did a pony version of the game's intro movie it would be incredible.

    12. Know what, I'm just gonna remember TommyXe's videos. all that user's PMVs seem to be high quality.

    13. Three Minutes Clapping is f'ing awesome at all, but...

      Not Twister? I am disappoint.

      VastaKustuta
    14. TWEWY is one of my favourite games ever. This totally made my day.

      VastaKustuta
    15. I don't really know the game or song at all, but for the most vague of half-notions.

Still like the PMV, because it's just that good in its own right.

    16. Funnily enough, I started playing TWEWY again the other day. It does take awhile to get used to the fashion system and the duel screen combat. But once you do, It is an epic game. I would recommend it to anybody.

    17. Dude... Seriously 'The World Ends With You' is one of the only games out of the hundreds I've played that I consider to be a perfect game. It brought all sorts of new gameplay elements to it, has great memorable characters, a great story, great gameplay, FUN gameplay, great music. The thing is a masterpiece! I don't say that about many things, trust me.

      VastaKustuta
    18. Love the game, love the song, love the show. Didn't think it would be combined with ponies, though.

    19. TWEWY does a pretty bad job of introducing its mechanics. There's just so much going on that they have to just drop in new things at awkward, nonsensical times rather than justifying them with some sort of story: rather than, say, a special item granting you new combat mechanics, the new mechanics just sort of happen. The only alternative would be to give you EVERYTHING at the start, which is also a pretty bad idea.

Once you get past that, though, there is an absolutely INCREDIBLE game there. It's my favorite DS game and one of the best RPGs I've ever played. The script is wonderful. The combat system is active and engaging while still rewarding strategic preparation before a battle. The difficulty options (adjustable during the game between battles) allow you to play the game at whatever level feels most comfortable, but reward you for pushing yourself. And it's got AWESOME postgame/New Game+ content, that ties into and expands the main story. Really worth giving another shot.

    20. I can't get a hold of the dual combat system, and there are some secret handshakes in the story I can't wrap my head around, but it's in the pantheon of handheld games that I've played.

      VastaKustuta
    21. Wow... kinda geeking out a little bit here; I love TWEWY and this is sweet! ...Now I'm kinda hoping for one using Twister-Remix... the Final Boss version. That'd be awesome!

      VastaKustuta
    22. Loved TWEWY. Dual combat system was hard, but I'm actually a sucker for difficulty in games, so that was one of the best parts imo. Plus, the secret bonus boss is super fun (where fun=soul crushing).

As for this, great song. I want to hear "Long Dream" and "Give me all your Love" as PMVs.

      VastaKustuta
    23. I knew it! I knew Three Minutes Clapping would be used for this!

      VastaKustuta
    24. I bet rarity would make some sick reaper gear

      VastaKustuta
    25. Are none of you aware that there's already a TWEWY crossover fic on the site? It's pretty well-written, too.

      VastaKustuta

    27. @JordanRynes
Really? Aw darn it, I already decided on doing a story based on TWEWY. (slams head on desk in shame)

      VastaKustuta
    28. TWEWY FTW! Not surprised it was Three Minutes Clapping, that song is epic. Although I have to say it's #2 for me, Lullaby For You from the end credits stole my heart. The game itself is one of my all time favorite DS games, the only thing I wish they had done is made Tin Pin Slammer with Wi-Fi. I think I need to send some letters, maybe they could do a standalone DSiWare/3DS e-Shop of it with Wi-Fi battles. Also I never payed any attention to the fashion stuff, I just used whatever I liked and let my mad skills overpower fashion! XD

I still need to go back and finish all the extra stuff...

    29. Ya know, I tried getting into TWEWY. Twice. But the combat system kept getting needlessly complicated for my tastes; every time I tried to like it, the battle system repulsed me. It's a real pity, 'cause at first I enjoyed it. And then they added stuff I saw as completely unnecessary and overly complicated.

    30. The only thing I didn't like about TWEWY is the final boss. Yes, at the end, I had to set the game to easy and the drop rate to 1, but I still managed to beat the penultimate boss without getting my ass handed to me too much.
However, the final boss killed me when I just got rid of maybe 1/8 of its health. That's fucking ridiculous!

Other than that, it's an absolutely fantastic game.

Oh yeah, this PMV is also pretty cool.

      VastaKustuta
    31. Fucking awesome PMV...
      :3

    32. Speaking of fusing TWEWY and FiM, has anyone else noticed that Mr. H's title-dropping speech to Neku is essentially a more verbose version of what Celestia tells Twilight to do in the pilot? (I haven't read the TWEWY/FiM fanfic on here, so sorry if it's in there)

      VastaKustuta
    33. I love TWEWY. I didn't really get into the whole Trend thing anyway since playing a few battles in an area manipulates the trends. You might have a few bad matches at first but everything works out better later.

Currently trying to get the post-game reports.

      VastaKustuta
    34. You need to get back into the game Seth. The fashion aspect is only as big a part of the game as you want it to be. Seriously, I beat the entire game without having to worry to greatly about the trends. (except pig city in the bonus story, but even then it was possible) Sure it can add more depth, but it's nothing necessary.

      I <3 TWEWY
