I liked the feel #1, but I definitely think that the orchestration needed cleaning up. The guitar parts by themselves were good, but did not mesh during a lot of the phrases. Also, I was expecting a DragonForce-esque song in general being Rainbow Dash's theme, amirite?
@SgtGarand at some point, you should find a week you are willing to sacrifice, get a few 2 liters of soda, tons of swedish fish and read, in my opinion, the best fanfic ever written.
What's not to get? It's a rock song, and the lyrics are about fighting for what you believe in, and being ready to sacrifice your own life if it means not giving up to the evil in life.
I totally agree, it's the beat fan fiction I've read. The characterization is stunningly deep, and the way the mane 6 are portrayed is totally canon accurate in my mind.
That's what prompted me to write that song. I'm excited to write the companion piece(s) soon.
#2 is great, but it needs some cleaning up. Drumming should be more varied and interesting, the kick drum should have a better punch in particular to match the crazy bass line. The guitars just sound too low-quality and tend to seem out of time, which is a shame, because they started off really strong at the beginning of the song.
The bass, as I've mentioned, is crazy, but it's a good of crazy, it has a nice effect applied to it. I reckon that if the guy has more time with the effect, he'll master it and be able to really extract some funk out of it
I saw the title for #3 and thought "Oh hey, Fallout Equestria. I haven't read that. I think I'll leave it be." Then I clicked it anyway. I'm glad I did.
#1 Wasn't bad. Though all these guitar pieces, especially the ones centered around Dash, seem to be running together for me. lol
#2 Dat rock version. Not bad. Still prefer the original myself, but I thought this sounded decent overall.
#3 Hmm. Feel a little conflicted about this one. Its alright. I think it could be better and I think it has promise. As-is it's not too shabby though. Singing needs some improvement. Maybe the lyrics some. Though overall I liked the lyrics. Overall I like it. Keep improving. :)
Honestly, brony music is just as good (many times better) than modern music, and all those haters that refuse to check out MLP because it's "girly" are missing out. >:(
All pretty awesome songs! Although somehow #1 reminded me of the melody from Cupcakes than a Dashie song, but still, very RD sounding. And the Party with Pinkie remix-superb!
Oh God that FOE one... I almost shed a pony tear. ;_; I haven't felt this depressed (but in an awesome, FOE way) since Steelhooves' death... FOE can really do that to you... it's so horrible and completely depressing... but you just can't stop reading it... You really have to have read FOE to understand it in full, but it's still one hell of a song even if you've never read it.

ReplyDelete#1 was okay, I really didn't care all too much for it.
ReplyDelete#2 is good. I really like the utilization/integration of parts of the show's songs.
#3 was good as well. The last part of it was my favourite.
@Nyx For some reason I find this an ironic post. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking #3 even though FoE is tl;dr :)
Number 3 fits the tone of FoE very well.
ReplyDelete@MandoPony I know I said this on the 8-bit version of your RD theme.....but, it still reminds me of the Chip n Dale game for NES. lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome work
@SgtGarand Thanks :D I appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteMy Little Nuclear Apocalypse Pony? Awesome!
ReplyDelete3rd one was nice! Plus FallOut 3 ftw

It fits Pip's story like a glove

ReplyDelete@Dethonator Hahahahaha, xD Thanks bro! xD *brohoof*
ReplyDeleteNow I'm not a music critic and i only play the sax ( mediocre at best) but i must say that i enjoyed all 3 of these songs. Well done!
ReplyDelete@Dethonator
ReplyDeleteYeah, seriously. If you love guitar instrumentals, what's not to love? Bravo.
#2 was the best
ReplyDeleteI'm liking number one. Not quite as fast as I think Dash deserves, but still really well done.

ReplyDeleteI'm on mobile!
ReplyDeleteSomepony, throw me a youtube link for FoE!!!!
Now if only my internet wasn't being retarded slow, I could actually listen to this while fragging in Battlefield 3.
ReplyDelete#1 Wasn't bad. Though all these guitar pieces, especially the ones centered around Dash, seem to be running together for me. lol

ReplyDelete#3 Is diamonds. Fallout Equestria FTW.
ReplyDeleteso i listened to 3 with rainymood up, it was kinda fitting.
ReplyDeleteThe second song wasn't the best IMHO. It sounds awesome if you play it over the original though, I think they sound good together.
ReplyDeleteMmm...
ReplyDelete#3 was excellent. Fits the FoE world perfectly.
Although, a part of me wants someone to record a twangy 40s version of it, so it fits canon Fallout music better. XD
lol. i found no.1 before i even got on EqD today
ReplyDelete#3 is cool.
ReplyDeleteAll Hail Kkat
What's that?
ReplyDeleteA music post with three glorious songs?
SIGN ME UP!
Very well done, all three. Kudos to the respective artists!
Meh not my favourite music section. The last one was good though :)

ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who read "Lil Pip" and thought of Pipsqueak?
ReplyDelete@Rubidia
ReplyDeleteChallenge accepted. I'll try and get a pony tear out of you one day.
Dat #3.
ReplyDeleteIs now playing on repeat in iTunes.
Forever.
number 1 reminds me of a megaman stage
ReplyDeletethat or an anime intro
As for number 2, Loved the original, this one is good too.
1. Rock on, Rainbow Dash!
ReplyDelete2. Party on, Pinkie Pie!
3. Read on, everypony! (Ha, you thought I was going to break the pattern.)

ReplyDeleteThat Lil Pip song reduced me a 22 year old to full on tears Damn good song. *sniffle*
ReplyDeleteAnd I cant stop listening to it. It fits Lilpip so well!
ReplyDeleteso the question remains where can we get the cd for FO:E
ReplyDelete@Rubidia
ReplyDeleteBecause clearly it was a good idea to spoil that for people in this thread who have not read FO:E but were interesting in doing so.
Gotta agree with Dethonator, #1 was fucking awesome! XD
ReplyDeleteTwo was a badass remix of a badass song. THE DUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!
FoE music is always wanted, so I must give a shiny golden seal of approval! :D
