It's pretty amazing how many songs we pump out that sound like they are created professionally in a studio, or maybe I'm just behind on music technology.
Anyway, this is awesome, so just go listen to it. It's after the break as always!

Twilight is the best pony! (U MAD?)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Ken Ashcorp did a pony song!
ReplyDeletewow this is catchy <3
ReplyDeleteNice thing to wake up to.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to agree that it is quite a cool song!
ReplyDeletef*ck Yeah
ReplyDeleteI like it! I could hear this playing in a club somewhere. You know, if I ever went to clubs.
ReplyDeleteGettin 20% cola!
ReplyDeleteThis is my jam!
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. I don't usually like this kind of music, but this just blew my mind.
ReplyDeleteFinally he's done with it! I've been waiting on this for so long. Blasting this so hard at the next BroNYCon~
ReplyDeleteAwesome! This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteTis awesome, something to play on a party :D
ReplyDelete+20 Cooler.
ReplyDeleteGonna get my shades on.
... Soooo, Scootaloo is Marty Mcfly... and Rainbow Dash is Ferris Bueller?
The 90's crown prince of cool and time-traveling chicken...
And the 80's king of cool and master the aside glance?
-claps wholeheartedly- Damn, If I didn't think of this sooner.
B3 .... to the fanfiction-writing cool-car. AWAY~
[ note:: The 90's king of cool is obiviously The Prince of Bel-Air. ;3 Feel free to argue it. I'm game. xD ]
Way past cool xP
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this song almost as much as the 'September' cover done by 'Mic The Mic' - just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteWow... that is just insanely fun.
ReplyDeletegotto say
ReplyDeletenot that special, I have heard way better in the community so I really wonder why this song got its own post
also what have we got that is related to pony:
- a plug to the 20% cooler meme
- a mention of twilight sparkle
- a mention of rarity
other lyrics = wtfamIlisteningto?!?!
also
>It's pretty amazing how many songs we pump out that sound like they are created professionally in a studio, or maybe I'm just behind on music technology.
are you saying that this song sounds professional so it got his own post??
which would mean that all the other songs that didn't get their own post are not professionally done?? wut?? my brain??
Awwww yeah. Great lyrical flow, fun head-bobbing beat, some clever shout-outs to a couple ponies, though I'm surprised he didn't work in all six. I approve of this song, two hooves up.
ReplyDelete@Draksune
ReplyDeleteSounds like he worked in all of them, except maybe Applejack. I didn't really hear any mention of her in there.
@milan
ReplyDeleteDude, I totally agree that a lot of talent in the brony community make good songs.
Mic the Mic
Eurobeat
Tomb
Silva Hound
Glaze
NotACleverPony
Just to name a few that come to my head.
But you gotta admit, this sounds like it could be in the charts somewhere. It's that good.
@Senior Waffles
ReplyDelete"NEW Coke Rainboom- now 20% cola."
F***in Smart.
ReplyDelete"It's pretty amazing how many songs we pump out that sound like they are created professionally in a studio, or maybe I'm just behind on music technology."
ReplyDeleteQuite possibly behind. I don't have a great deal of first hand experience with music producing software (mostly because I haven't had the time to use the software I got for free with Ubuntu Studio) but from what I know about electronic music this would be some of the easier kind of stuff to produce using music software...provided you had a good microphone for recording the vocals that is. Heck Damon Albarn recorded the latest Gorillaz album while on tour using almost entirely the software that was on his iPad.
And nice track. I lean towards more textured and meditative electronica due to my musical interests in jazz, electroacoustic music, and minimalist composition, but this is a great hit-the-dance-floor-and-shake-your-ass-song (or in my case perfect for putting on a playlist when I hit the gym and do weights).
@EphemeralBlue
ReplyDeleteyes it could be in the charts somewhere (which for me is not a reason to love it to death)
but all of the other bronies you named
their music sounds like they could be in the charts as well
and there are a lot more like jackle app, alexs, pinkieguy, whoosh, aussie, general mumble, chain algorithm
and a lot of those haven't had their own post
@Adam Crocker
ReplyDeleteThere's certainly a lot of skill that went into the production of this track. It's easy to write electronic with today's software, but getting a professional, full-sounding mix takes years of practice and musical know-how.
@Pipsqueak
ReplyDeleteThat I can certainly agree with and in retrospect I guess my statement was careless in regard.* Perhaps what I should have said is that with the software that's out there, the capability is there to create professional sounding tracks for those who have the skill to do so.
* Just to note that my listening has included everything from professional electronica to old ethnographic field recordings from the 1950s which poor sound fidelity and a lot of crackle'n'pop. So on an unconscious level I probably don't give enough thought to the skill involved in sound engineering as some people might.
Aawww yeah I have been listening to this guy from back when he did Brofist a dinosaur this guy is a big SC and WoW fan and he made the theme for tastosis as well as Destiny!!! I didn't even know he was a brony? Ahh man all my brony dislikes friend are gonna be soo mad when they see this lol..
ReplyDelete@Pipsqueak
ReplyDeleteAs others have said, it's comparatively easier to make electronica vs a vocal song like this.
There is also the issue of rarity, EqD gets dozens of electronica song submissions everyday so they get grouped up in posts. Meanwhile pop songs like this are exceptionally rare in this fandom, since its rare it gets its own post.
I mean a good song with vocals in this fandom is pretty rare. And if you discount rap and autotuned vocals, there are maybe only 4 or 5 songs in this entire fandom that are natural vocal songs like this.
So a rare vocal song, and one with production values good enough to be played on the radio? Yea, I can see why it gets its own post.
Frick, I didn't mean to do "@Pipsqueak" in my post. It more more aimed at everyone who was asking why it got its own post
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best pieces of Brony music involving singing.
ReplyDeleteThe combination of awesome song and lyrics makes it one of the best things EVER!
@milan Hey I think this song is great. It certainly isn't the best I've heard, but it isn't a competition. I'm sure other artists deserved their own post but they don't need you to defend them. They aren't complaining. Its not for the fame. They enjoy making the music for us, not for themselves.
ReplyDeleteI freakin love this. And it can pass as a regular song too, the references were not that big but those who know them get them, and those who don't can still enjoy the song. Plus nice beat and vocals. All in all: awesome.
ReplyDeletenow this is a good song!
ReplyDelete@Nämahs
ReplyDeleteuhm I am sorry to break your bubble of awesomeness but this song has autotuning as well...
My ear drums are destroyed, and it's STILL not loud enough in my headphones. The treble is pretty high in this song.
ReplyDeleteDayum this is my genre! Hadouken!
ReplyDeleteI love the aggressive youth voice type, it just feels almost parodical, but it has some nice sounding to it.
I seriously could see so many of my room mates mouths drop when they found out that this was ponies.
You may be just a little behind, Seth. With good modern software it's a lot easier these days to create stunning songs than it was, say, 20 years ago. There are also some people in this community with professional grade software and even hardware. I know some who do. lol For less than a grand and with some musical skill and know-how, you can pump out some pretty awesome tracks. And in relatively short time too. :)
ReplyDeleteThis song is pretty good. It's got a more professional feel obviously. Has a good dance beat to it. Definitely a club track. I like it.
I'm so glad I checked my subscription box on youtube last night before bed, I had this lovely surprise only 15 mins old. and i was like, going on EqD right now!
ReplyDeleteGuy's voice reminds me of Hadouken.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY what I was thinking. Very Hadouken-esque vocals. awesome song too.
ReplyDeleteCan you hear that? It's the wirring sound of peoples computers who are making remixes right now...
ReplyDeleteAwesome song man *brohoof* this is going to be my most listened to song now :3
i've heard this guy's work before! it's great!
ReplyDeleteand now he's a brony...it only BETTER!!!! XD i love you all!
I like. I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteThis is so good!
ReplyDeleteI thought I could take the comments about the subtlety of the references, but the comment about auto-tune killed me.
ReplyDeleteStay mad, Bronies.
(But honestly, thanks for all the kind comments and support so far EqD! <3)
1. Enter Car, Windows Downed.
ReplyDelete2. Place song in audio playing device: MAX volume
3. Drive.
In an interview, storyboard artist Sibsy stated "The second season (of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) will blow your mind."
ReplyDeleteThus, the fanbase responded "and so will we."
These fan songs, tributes, PMV's, and fanfics are just getting out of control! At this rate, we'll have so much content and quality, we can branch off and become our own self-sustaining world economy.
Ill go as far as to say, for me, this is my favorite song from this fandom yet, It just sounds so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI actually know that guy, he casted a few of my starcraft 2 games a while ago when i was in a tournament haha.
ReplyDeleteHe also won the song contest at blizzcon 2011, Ken Ashcorp is a pretty damn talented little guy.
Absolutely awesome... really love it... great subtle references, great track, awesome vocals :D Need more pony tracks like these, the ones that non-bronies can also enjoy
ReplyDelete@Ken★
ReplyDeletePart of your lyrics is 7 colored hair. Dashie has 6 colors in her mane. What's the 7th? Hmm...Dash in boots. A new meme?
@Draksune
ReplyDeleteNot the author, obviously, but I assumed it was just a reference to the traditionally defined 7 colors of the light spectrum seen in a rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.
Dash's character design seems to have merged the last two.
This is so. awesome!
ReplyDelete/)^3^(\
This guy has soome badass lyrics. Subbed!
ReplyDeleteThis jam rocks dudes!
ReplyDeleteLoved.
ReplyDeleteCan't beleive I JUST reacently listened. This is just amazing!
ReplyDelete@IXI just reminds me how far I still have to go to get to the top! /)^3^/) WOOO!
