I don't think anyone can ever really leave the fandom in the sense of not being a fan of the show any more. More like he's stopped making music for some time or something like that. Anyway, he will be missed ;_;

Why did he leave exactly?
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell, "Lifetime Medication" does lead to a few points of interest. I can honestly say that his "Particular Circumstance" may be something such as depression or HIV, along the lines of an issue that may be dealt with over a long period of time. Either way, we have no right to go out and confirm anything, but the fact is that he is gone due to an ailment as such.
ReplyDeleteHopefully whatever he is going through, he'll be able to move on from it. I could care less about him moving from the "pony scene" because that's not who he is. If he never comes back, yet live many a year, then I will be content with the state of the situation.

It's sad to see someone who gave so much to the community go, but his personal health comes before anything else. As long as he manages to get better that's all that matters. As for him leaving the fandom, I wouldn't call it that, since it's not like he grew tired of it. And even if he never makes another piece for the fandom, he has left his mark, and it's a sure thing that no one will ever forget it.

This is so strange... I've never met the guy, yet I'm very depressed to hear this. I actually feel gutted, like a good friend has suddenly disappeared and I will never see or hear him again. Also, what little he told us about the circumstances makes it even worse. I'm not going to type any assumptions I have but it really bugs me!

Not A Clever Pony's music was there way back in February when I started watching the show, and it blew my mind then. More musicians have joined the scene since then, but I doubt the music scene would be anything like this if it weren't for the early musicians such as Not A Clever Pony.

Though it's sad to hear a brony as talented as him to leave us, I completely understand that there are things more important than our community, such as one's own health and well-being. I hope he will overcome all the hardships he's having right now and wish him good luck in everything he ever does. I, among with many others really liked his music, and surely he will be greatly missed.

ReplyDeleteNotACleverPony was a brony, artist, and sheer inspiration for many bronies worldwide. His music brought life to the fandom and gave many fans direction in the fandom. His presence may leave us for a span of time, but his legacy will live in the hearts of every brony who heard his music and knew he was just another normal person, that changed our community forever.
When i first heard the news, i was completely gob-smacked. Normally i'm rather stoic, but this just hit me harder than a Sonic rainboom. I actually sat in a corner, just competently out of my usual self, depressed.

At least the second song compliments his leaving. Although he is leaving, let us remember the good times. I may not have known who he was, but he was an inspiration to every musical brony out there. A post on his deviantart page says it best.

It was Notacleverpony's powerful For the New Lunar Republic that got me to take music by pony fans seriously. In FTNLR I see the reflection of my rage and despair that Princess Luna would get banished to the moon for one thousand years for wanting to be appreciated. Notacleverpony's music is the kernel in my music folder upon which accreted all the music that I listen to now.

ReplyDeleteWow. FTNLR was one of the first ORIGINAL (not remix or sample from the show) fan-songs I heard, and it blew me away. Despite it not featuring something from the show, it has always had a place in my MLP playlist (instead of my "original brony music" playlist). It feels like part of MLP to me, not just a fan-made tribute.

Last night, I stayed up till 4 AM working on cables for a Medtronic product. I was listening to pony tunes, including his tunes, all night, and just today, on the way to and from the shop for delivery.
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired right now, and now I feel like I just want to go to bed. Dealing with some minor eye leaks at the moment, hearing about our favorite musical artist going through hard times... I'll pray for him. Don't know if he digs that sorta thing, but at least he'll know he's in my thoughts, one anonymous internet friend to another.
It's sad to see someone go, yet it's somehow strangely reassuring to know that he's leaving for real life reasons. Because, as sad as these reasons might be, these are the reasons that really unite us not only as a community, but as humans too.

ReplyDeleteFor my thoughts for him, I have no idea how I got in touch with NotACleverPony's music to be honest, but those colorful Luna pieces of music (For The New Lunar Republic, The Stars Will Aid Her Escape, Lower the Moon, and Princess Luna Lullaby) stimulated me highly. Your music seemed to inspire a lot of people out there, some being encouraged to join in the pony scene, some having a good time listening it, and some even converting people to like the show. That I feel is a commendable effort to your part in the brony community. You definitely left a print there!
Once a brony, always a brony. Good luck dude and continue the spread of friendship watching the show back at home. Hope you come back to the fandom when problems have been cleared out, if not; have a good life, please know that you made a mark in the community. :)

It's helped me not only concentrate on writing as you intended it to, but indirectly helped me out of a few depressions.
