Play two copies of the video Put both vids at any time of the song, just make them different times from eachother. Watch your mind explode as you realise it still sounds good
This is part of what happens when a huge bunch of creative people all suddenly get an outlet, in a playing field who's creators respect them and their works. :-)
And yeah, the Octavia pic is pretty badass. Reminds me of the comic version of The Devil Went Down to Georgia, done with Octavia vs. Discord.
I see this as a legit way to enjoy pony while maintaining an air of class... Unless they watch the show, they won't be able to tell what the source is.
Winter wrap up seemed a tiny bit off at times. I still LOVED it though. She did a completely amazing job, and this deserves over 100,000 views. Especially since she'll do another if it reaches that many!
Did anyone else laugh at "Cupcakes"? I loved the way it sounded, such a light silly song played in an orchestral format.
Gotta have a badass Octavia image when you're posting orchestral pieces. :)
Unlike some people, I actually listened to it before posting. lol Dayum, AJTE. Twenty minutes. It's a really good listen as always. I realy quite enjoyed it. Keep these nice pieces coming. :)
Sheet music maybe? A friend of mine is in our school orchestra and wants to see if he can persuade the director to let them play this next performance. XD
Must say, very nice job. I make a TON of orchestrals (I think I'm up to 108 now), so I know how hard they are to make. This definitely didn't take you a few hours to make. I usually spend a week on 1, 3 minute song. Great job
I can't be the only one who thought the end sounded as epic as a Star Wars film score, and also thought that they might make a little reference to the end of "The Return Of Harmony Part II" despite being the video being Season One-focused orchestral piece, right?
It turns out I was having problems with my youtube, it was causing the video to skip in spots. When I reloaded the video it fixed the glitches and sounds much better, so do please ignore the "Sounds a bit off", still sounds great. Really hope you do another one for season 2!
A bit sad there's no Cutie Mark Crusaders song. D: Can't expect EVERYTHING to be there, though, I guess. (Not to mention it seems like an odd song to orchestrate.)
It's still ridiculously amazing though, don't get me wrong. :> Definitely hope to see more stuff like this since!
Actually, I just did an orchestration of the CMC theme song. I noticed there weren't any online, so I decided to make my own. Username is AspectOfTheStorm if your interested.
All right, just finished it. Best 20 minutes usage of my life. Is it sad though that the entire time I listened to this, my thought was, "All right fellow Bronies. Epic chorus time! Let's DO THIS!"?
I think this would be some excellent backing to a full group of chorus members, but that just might be the singer in me...
And with that, AJtheEngineer went from being one of my favorite new pony composers to being one of my favorite composers period. Like, ever. Holy crap.
..........I love you guys/gals. I mean, seriously. This was awesome.
The only thing that could have made this better was to have included "You gotta share", the "CMC theme song", and the CMC go crusading theme they play in the background. Oh..and to actually have this played in a theater by an actual orchestra. xD
THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE FOLKS! THIS IS IT, MAN! Words cannot possibly convey how proud I am of this fanbase right now. I would give almost anything to shake this person's hand and tell them what a tremendous job they did.
you have done what no man i thought could possibly do besides the creator of One Winged Angel. You made orchestra music that i actually like 0.o, did you divide by zero?
If I could post pictures on here, there would be one of my mind being blown. All of these renditions, At the Gala in particular, are freaking amazing. And I don't even care for the music in the show. I'm amazed at how someone went through with this...
Good work. I have to say that I thought spread ad timing could be improved, but I cannot complain. This is twenty minutes of pure amazingness, and I know how hard composition is, since I've tried and failed (of course,I had to use MilkyTracker, but...) I must bow to you, sir.
Man I would love to re-do the mix for this! It's a job well done, I would love to get it mixed well though.
My only complaint would be that more key changes could have been nice, and I didn't hear a lot of movement, the actual voice moving could have been more interesting. But hey, you did a hell of a job!
Simply wonderful, nice work with the transitions as well. The execution itself was spot on aside from very minor things. 11:50-12:00 is the most realistic sounding VST's I think I've ever heard, which makes it pure win. I hope to take a listen to the mp3 when it comes out. Overall a splendid composition, you should be proud.
Holy hell, I am getting so many goosebumps from this. Damn you, YouTube and your shitty compression, but I'll have the original track to bask in forever!
As has been said, I am so proud to be a part of a community that can do THIS.
@Mattatatta I tried what you suggested, playing two copies of the vid at different parts of the song. I'm still picking bits of my brain out of my walls, my mind was blown so hard.

I can't be the only one who thinks that the opening part sounds like the closing music from the original Star Fox.
ReplyDeleteMusic was decent, but OH GOD THE FINAL MIX UGGGHHH. Dude needs to turn it WAY down and use less compression/limiting.
ReplyDeleteGet me sheet music it will be played at my schools band concert

ReplyDeleteThis is just awesome.
As well as the bad-flank Octavia pic.

ReplyDeleteWell no guarantees, and I'm a guy by the way. But thanks anyways.

Sorry about getting your gender wrong.
Holy buck this is good. If I would have any criticisms so far, it would be that the first movement sounds too march like
ReplyDeletemy body was not ready FOR HOW AWESOME THIS WAS!

That was amazing! I've got a huge soft spot for orchestral versions of songs.
ReplyDelete@AspectOfTheStorm
ReplyDeleteOh, okay. :> I'll definitely give it a listen, then.
This is when i'm proud to be a brony. This was really amazing.

Absolutely fantastic. I just wish the audio quality was just a bit better. Even at 1080, there was noticeable distortion.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, it's a fantastic masterpiece.
@AtomicBrony
ReplyDeleteCompression? What compression? Us orchestral composers never use any sort of compression
Did anypony hear about this being played at BroNYcon in the queue area? ;)
ReplyDeleteTHIS! THIS RIGHT HERE FOLKS! THIS IS IT, MAN!

ReplyDeleteDAMMIT, WHERE'S THE IMAGE FROM? I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
ReplyDeleteFind a pet made me want a muscial episode, this makes me want a vocal-less episode.

ReplyDeleteWOW....just wow...I swear the Brony community just...wow...has a lot of talent in it. This is a good thing. Very very me gusta.
ReplyDeleteMy only complaint is the compression. It's stellar otherwise.
ReplyDeleteCould you possibly stop with the music, just for a second... AND TAKE MY MONEY!
ReplyDeleteListened to it all. Awesome.
