Zecora out of nowhere! I think that's a real spider, watch out!
Instrumental time.
1.) AJ The Engineer Befriends PinkiePieSwear - Flutterwonder (Full Orchestral Remix)
2.) Derpy's Journey Part I
3.) Twilight is My Bestest Friend 8 bit
That would be preposterous, as most of the music submitted is instrumental. There has been a filter set on music but it does not exclude orchestral or instrumental pieces.
I was about to post why the second video had no sound... But somehow it started muted. I was waiting for the music after the comic or something then I notice I'm at 2:31. I'm like "Wat?"
@mycutiemarkisagun So, I grabbed some guys over at "My Little Remix" to do some pre-listening on all these Octavia/Luna/Spitfire/Scratch songs after some complaints about how "pony" this stuff was. Needless to say, things are a bit stricter now.
Yeah. There's absolutely nothing here in the vein of "there needs to be lyrics or it's not allowed". Nothing even directly implies it. All that he said there was that criteria would now be stricter because a few of the songs coming through didn't seem to have anything to do with ponies aside from the name.
The existence of this music post should be enough proof that instrumentals are welcome.
Also, more relevant to the actual post. #1 is definitely my favourite. It manages to evoke the same ethereal quality of the original Flutterwonder, while still retaining it's own flavour. It's just beautiful.
A priest, a drunk, and an engineer get led to the guillotine.
The executioners ask the priest if he wants to face up or down when he meets his fate. The priest says he would like to face up so he will be looking towards heaven when he dies. They raise the blade of the guillotine and release it. It comes speeding down and suddenly stops just inches from his neck. The authorities take this as divine intervention and release the priest.
The drunk comes to the guillotine next. He also decides to die face up, hoping that he will be as fortunate as the priest. They raise the blade of the guillotine and release it. It comes speeding down and suddenly stops just inches from his neck. Again, the authorities take this as a sign of divine intervention, and they release the drunkard as well.
Next is the engineer. He, too, decides to die facing up. As they slowly raise the blade of the guillotine, the engineer suddenly says, "WAIT, I see what your problem is ..."
Some quality checking would be nice. Lots of the stuff that goes through here is good; just not great. If authors take some criticism, we'll have even better pony songs, regardless of if they're just "inspired by" ponies or not.
In the hopes I'm not misinterpreted with my last post, I quite like #1 and am halfway through #2 and finding it ok. I'll comment on 3 when I listen to it.
Ok #3: Short and sweet. Some of the notes sounded off, but if they're strictly adhering to the gameboy sound limitations, that might be why. So it's forgivable.
In regards to the picture: Man, Kloud has such a weird way of making some seriously disturbing art... It doesn't seem like it ought to be that creepy, but the more I look at it... It's just f*ckin' weird.
#1 I think AJ is my favorite new pony composer. Great song. He's right, though: not as good as Ovation. Then again, that's only because Ovation was *amazing*.
#2 No. No! That baseline. That acoustic guitar. The soothing sounds of a dreamy string duet. It's too much. I'm going to...to...*is mellow*.
1: Nice... I would use more than just string though, especially for replacing the vocals. I would bring the tempo up just a touch but still keep it slower than the original. but great job bro!
2: (won't play for me, I hate youtube)
3: Boing boing boing boing (That means I liked it)

I may be just catching on to this right now, but I'm digging the use of "befreinds" now in exchange of "vs".

could you imagine if flutterwonder orchestral was used as the final song on the final episode final scene ;_;
ReplyDeleteDamn, no love for #2?
ReplyDeleteI'm a real sucker for acoustic guitars w/ heavy reverb. ^_^
Ok #3: Short and sweet. Some of the notes sounded off, but if they're strictly adhering to the gameboy sound limitations, that might be why. So it's forgivable.
ReplyDeleteheehee, jokes

ReplyDeleteI love me sum instrumentals!
ReplyDeleteInafter people arguing about songs without actual pony lyrics or voice samples in them. lol
#1 Eeyup, another real well-composed gentle piece by AJTE.
#2 This was pretty nice too I thought.
#3 8-bit... so yeah. lol But I like it. Cute. <3
One's pretty damn fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAnd RainbowCrash is also being awesome.
Good set.
derpidety always has the most soothing tunes. Loved it, can't wait for part 2 ^_^
ReplyDelete@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteAgreed *Inhale deeply* yaaay
Derpy's Journey definitely has my vote...if there's 2 things I'm a sucker for, it's soft soothing music, and acoustic steel guitars.
ReplyDeleteGonna have to give the others a listen after work.
Yes! I was afraid the new rules would exclude Derpidiety. Always brings the best.
