Someone sent me an email saying Spitfire has a male Voice Actor in the Polish dubbed version. Figuring it was nonsense, I hit up youtube to check for myself... It's all true.

Spitfire gender-bending aside, I can't help but notice how easy most of this episode is to understand, even when it's dubbed in a language you can't understand. The only part that isn't clear is the donut scene at the end. It's a testament to the skill of the animators that they could communicate so much through visuals alone.

At first I thought you meant it was simply a guy using a female-sounding voice. I was going to comment on why that is such a big deal.
VastaKustutaThis is a bit further, but still. I don't see the huge deal. I know guys that look like girls and I know girls that look like guys in real life. So you can't just go solely on looks alone. Seriously, you can't even tell with some of my friends. But I'm very open-minded on this stuff, I have transgendered friends afterall.
So I guess I just don't see the major big deal here. If it would have been in the English version, then I would have paused a bit longer. But for the dubbed versions, eh. These little inconsistencies aren't anything new for them. It's more funny and fun than anything to me.

Fluttershy voice is good, like Twilight and Rainbow Dash, in general translation is good. Thing is, that MiniMini is Television directed to little girls, not to bronies, so they don't put hard attention to precision and all thing, we brony, admire. After all, this is serial for little girls :)
Also, the Wonderbolts are a circus in Polish dub.

Polish version of MLP was meant for little girls, so people who did this probably thought "Those silly little girls won't notice the diffrence, they are too young to care" etc. So, they did it "Na odwal", like you say in Polish. There were also more gender swaps, like female Bloomberg or male Little Strongheart and female Owlowiscious. Princess Luna was never called Nightmare Moon in Poland. I guess that Brony fenomen isn't known well in polish mass medias.

Low quality of Polish dub is an effect of both low budget and people not caring. They never thought of "silly little girls". They are professionals paid to do the job with the measures they have, and *not* to care, be it about their audience or anything else.

VastaKustutaI think the Polish episode was pulled off exceptionally well. I especially liked Spike and Pinkie's voices, and I'll openly admit that I totally have a man crush on Polish Spitfire now.
They also have an actress who almost sounds exactly like a Polish Ashleigh Ball. They captured Rainbow's adorable fanpony squee quite well. I've gotta give them mad props for that.

However, considering how it always goes with Polish cartoons, they will change dubbing of a character the next time they appear if they aren't frequent characters
