This is seriously looking amazing right now. Equestria Tales is a platforming/RPG currently in progress by a team of just five people. This fandom is awesome.

There are times when this fandom confuses/disgusts/disappoints me, but there are also the times when I am extremely proud to be a Brony. Guess which one this is? I can't wait to see where they go with this! Also, why did Seth post almost every comment on this post?

Is it just me or does this Sethisto guy is chatting up a storm...cause Sethisto has over 30 comments on this update...
Sethisto imitates normal comments? He's got a point, most comments have 0 percent of value as they just state that the commenter likes what he sees.

ReplyDeleteWell, it appears Byrpheros thought I left the team, which I did not lol. For those of you wondering, we do plan on having a main storyline along with other side quests. This is a VERY early beta, so a ton of stuff will be modified in the final version. As of right now, we are planning on having a swap-out system, but I'm not sure if Byrpheros is still planning on doing that. Right now, were just getting a good foundation set up. A lot more updates to come.

ReplyDeleteKinda disappointed, I assumed based off the title this was gonna be like a Tales of Symphonia/Vesperia-esque game. Oh well, in any case looks decent enough for a very early build.

ReplyDeleteOk well, I know that this is still in the development stage but the character animation needs some serious work on it, the graphics are perfect for the type of game this is. the graphics actually remind me of the Tf2 HL2 engine, I'm pretty sure someone can use that engine and make a pony game with it

Camera Collision that actually works? I've seen $60 retail games that can't pull that off.

Okay, now that Disqus is gone, I can FINALLY reply to some comments ^_^
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, for all you ponies blaming the animation; THAT'S MY FAULT! I literally made that in 10 seconds flat by myself, because all our real artists are busy working on the actual 3D models. Since I gave literally no time to it, and I'm a writer/programmer (not an artist), it's no wonder it looks like utter rubbish ^_^
Now then, a few other points:
-Free (obviously)
-PC, Mac
-It's NOT about collecting coins; but at the moment, all we have are a lot of abstract data-structures, and not much tangible/visible stuffs, hence the coins
-Multiplayer... it's on the design doc, but not a high priority (though, personally, I'd love me some good co-op). We'll finish the singleplayer first, and then we'll see
-Rainbow Dash is playable, though we're still working on making sure the flying isn't overpowered
-In fact, all the mane cast are playable (Fluttershy is my personal favourite, some great stuffs ready for that ^_^)
Anyway, thanks for all the feedback! Your excitement is definitely very motivating, and I truly hope we make a game that reaches at least half of all your massive expectations!
