So I heard you like really, really long comics.
Well, this isn't one of those. It's just a really long comic. Note the use of one 'really'. It's nineteen pages, and worth the read if you like Granny Smith's character. And you totally should, because Tabitha voices her. And that's all the reason you should need.
Find the comic here, or click the image.

Oh, Cereal and your confusing sentences
ReplyDeleteDERP. WHOOPS
ReplyDeleteI love Granny Smith's character, but she has nothing to do with this comic. Still worth a read, though; the last page in particular is well done.
ReplyDeleteSo how does Applejack know all of this?
ReplyDeleteIts Granny Pie, Cereal. Derp :P
ReplyDeleteWow, That was sad. Can you put some warning up, so it won't kill the buzz of anyone else who doesn't like such themes?
ReplyDeleteBetter get this out of the way, though I'm sure there'll still be comments complaining about it:
ReplyDeleteYes, this comic is on FurAffinity. In order to read it, you'll have to click on 'Full View' below the image every time you go to a new page. Annoying, but again, worth it IMO.
@jodyjm13 agreed.
ReplyDeleteAll I really saw in Granny Pie's text bubbles were
ReplyDelete"I'm going to end up dying."
Still a nice comic though.
My Heart was filed with a bunch of DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWS, Pinkys Grandmother reminds me of my own Grandmother. Oh I cant wait to see her this Christmas
ReplyDeleteWhoops FA, shit's goin down XD
ReplyDeleteOr maybe not? I hope not! I need a break... No one cause any drama!
@jodyjm13
ReplyDeleteIf you have an account there, you can make full view the default. I have it that way just for that reason.
@DeRockProject
ReplyDeletePeople still care about that? Heck, a lot of Drawfriend stuff is coming from there lately and nobody seems to care.
Great great comic, I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a member of Fur Affinity and there's nothing wrong with the place, particularly when one is viewing as a guest.
ReplyDeleteNow, on to the comic: ... ... *cries*
Terrific comic! Loved it from beginning to end.
a beautiful comic.
ReplyDeletelet granny pie's final piece of advice be heard
"Be brave, always let 'em see you smile!"
An origin comic.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Surprise is the most popular character who can never appear in the current show. Good comic, though. This is the only form of fanfic I'll ever read.
ReplyDeleteA really sweet, well-done story that captures the spirit of the show very well. This could easily work as canon.
ReplyDelete@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the author's headcanon is that AJ has known Pinkie for a long time and probably asked what happened to her grandma. You know, the same way she knew about the Pinkie Sense. They were probably friends for years before Twilight ever showed up.
Anyone else notice the Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man reference? When I saw the nicknames for her siblings, I thought, all we need is a "Clyde." Oh wait, her father. Well, if there were a "Sue" it could be Ms. Pac-Man. Oh, wait, her mother.
ReplyDelete@jodyjm13
ReplyDeleteOne complaint... You're right. The navigating was all outta wack! Challenge in itself.
@Arcane Scroll
Yeah, well, that links directly to the image and you won't even notice it's from FA. Here, well... you do! Especially when you have to go through 19...38 different sites to read the whole comic.
And I still have complaints about that banner. I swear, I know someone can draw better than that. XD

Oh, and the comic was boring. But it's probably just not my kinda thing. You guys already know I'm a heartless monster.
@Glaivester
ReplyDeleteIn that case, who's pony Pac-Man?!
great comic, and very cute
ReplyDeleteI dunno what a Floozy is either, Pinkie.
ReplyDelete*Wikipedia* Oh, that makes sense...
I could tell a sad part was coming, still hit suddenly though, and I almost shed a tear.
A great story.
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
ReplyDeleteTake that Trixy
One of the best comics I read. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAwww, such a beautiful and sweet comic. LOVE it! :D
ReplyDeleteAll my B'aww and my D'aww and my Aww
ReplyDeleteI liked that comic. It's a little sad, true, but it's a generally happy story, and very well-drawn.
ReplyDeleteAmazing comic! If it can make you laugh and hold emotional feelings in a good story than you succeeded!
ReplyDeleteDammit I shed a tear, ONE tear...
ReplyDelete...must ...retain... manliness... when reading a sad comic about ponies...
as soon as she brought out that rolling pin though... it was probably the sadness shock that caused it, being so sudden.
If this was an actual episode, I probably would've cried.
This is an amazing comic.
ReplyDeleteTop tier, seriously. I can't think of a more in-character explanation for Pinkie, really.
And to those who say this is sad- it really isn't. It has sad elements to it, yes, but they just contribute to the uplifting nature at the very end.
So sweet, so very, very sweet.
ReplyDeleteNothing more to say really. :)
Fantastic!!! i cried a bit!! ok i cried a lot!
ReplyDeleteThis should be canon. Definitely.
ReplyDeleteAll of my manly tears.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about that particular bit of backstory, and I'm completely satisfied with this.
Excellent comic. 10/10.
ReplyDeleteHands down, the best FiM comic I've ever had the joy of reading. I wish I had a Granny Pie when I was growing up :)
ReplyDeleteExcuse me...got something in my eye...
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff!
Heartwarming.
ReplyDeleteA very good story, indeed.
By far the best comic I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Very heartwarming
ReplyDeleteThis story isn't sad, just a part of life. Although it might be sad for a little bit, the important part is that we keep living life. Keep on smiling. :D
ReplyDeleteAww that was beautifully bittersweet and nostalgic. And works really well with the established canon. Really really adorable and nicely written.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit it; I'm crying right now.
ReplyDeleteThat was a beautiful story, and it makes my heart feel better to have read it. With good art, good characterization, an excellently carried framing technique and a heartwarming, if bittersweet, plot I'd gladly give it 7 stars out of 5.
I don't like long comics but this one was worth every minute.
Wow, such an awesome and touching comic. I'm glad I took the time to read it.
ReplyDeleteD'awww... Tears were shed again...confound this fandom.
ReplyDeleteNineteen pages, dang. This is gonna take a few...
ReplyDeleteI see the artist is trying to create their own fan names for Inky and Blinky. lol And she made her grandmother a pesasus. :P Is that mean little bratty Trixie I see? D'awww, as cute and obnoxious as ever I see. <3 So sad when her granny died though, poor Pinkie. :( That is a kinda sad but real cute and endearing comic. Love it. <3
Okay, that was gorgeous and heartwarming...I totally have to give full 4 hooves up, I actually felt the eyes wellin' up a little at parts. Just when I think I can't feel anything more for these pastel colored sweethearts, somepony out there goes and does something like this!
ReplyDeleteExcellent comic! 5 stars!
ReplyDeletePity we never got a chance to know ya better, Granny Pie...you were an awesome pegasus.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful comic. The story should totally be canon, as it's a tear jerking, yet heartwarming story. It really says a lot about Pinkie Pie's attitude change from not just her cutie mark. 5 stars!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED IT!! n.n
ReplyDeleteThis is a very cute and nice comic, yeah it's really sad and such, but OMG I just love Pinky and her granny, they rule together D=
inb4 tidal wave of whining because the comic is hosted on FA.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fav comics :)
ReplyDeleteDon't gonna cry...Hold back tears...Come ooooooooon...
ReplyDeleteExcellent comic. I hope to see Granny Pie in the show.
Darn it. Now my pillow is damp.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful story. :) I think this shall be a part of my headcanon now.
Insta-head canon. This level of depth in my favorite character... I...I.....the feels....
ReplyDeleteWhile I welled up a bit at Granny Pie's inevitable death, and at the Cakes' kind offer, I must admit, I didn't cry until that last page.
ReplyDeleteThe heart that went into this was just beautiful, hell, I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.
Confound this fandom, they drive me to feel.
Much respek to the folks at Furaffinity.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that she passed away was a little too obvious. With that being said, this is probably my new favorite comic. It's really really good.
ReplyDeleteNEW HEADCANON UNLOCKED
ReplyDeletePure catnip/emotional porn/blue meth for Pinkie Pie fans.
This could be an episode in the show! Teach the kids how to cope with death! You know, like those "Why is Grandad cold and unmoving in that box" children's books, except less depressing and not laying on the coffee table of a hospital waiting room.
God Bless Pinkie and her nappy, nappy hair.
@Scherzando
ReplyDeleteSeriously, stop it already. There's always way more people with these "inb4 FA qq" posts than people actually complaining about it, if anyone even complains about it at all.
Then who was bite in cake... 0_0...
ReplyDeleteIt could be considered a creepy/happy ghost story toward the end.
This is a great comic and I wish it were canon. I absolutely love it and I've faved all the parts on my FA page so I can check it any time I want.
ReplyDeleteHappy 70,000,000 everybrony!
ReplyDeleteOh wow totally misty eyed after reading that.
ReplyDelete@Scherzando
ReplyDeletenope.avi
Lovely story. Saved and made into a PDF for keeps. I'd add a voice to those saying, this should be canon. It fits beautifully, and it's a good way to introduce a theme like death. Tell the lawyers to stop having conniptions, pay up a scriptwriters' commission, develop it, make it.
ReplyDeleteYeah i know.
This guy seriously needs to become a writer for the series
ReplyDelete@DeRockProject
ReplyDeleteDerpy. "I emptied your fridge."
@DeRockProject
ReplyDeleteYes, and we love you all the same. ;)
@Arcane Scroll
ReplyDeleteI was still on dial-up when I set up my account there years ago; now that I'm on DSL, it's probably safe to use that option without every page taking 2 minutes to load. Thanks for the reminder!
Aww, that was really sweet!
ReplyDeleteDon't know why some people are acting like the thing was spoilt by them guessing she'd die though. EVERYONE DIES (immortals aside).
It was awesome, quite sad at the end, but stills awesome. Heart warming, well drawn, fits whit the plot...
ReplyDelete5 stars to it!
@mycutiemarkisagun
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I couldn't help but chuckle at your comment. Are there really "Why is my Granddad cold and unmoving" coffee table books out there?
Oh, I knew it was going to happen, I KNEW IT! Though, Granny Pie being able to fly was surprising. And that just brings in more questions on how ponies get what quality from each parent.
ReplyDeleteWait! Sorry, went on a tangent there. This comic made me tear up. But it's also sweet and it reminds me of my Granddad. He passed on a couple years back. God I miss him, but most of all I remember lots of the time we spent together. He never taught me anything as concise as what Granny Pie said, but he taught me none the less.
I dunno, I really like the Granny Pie from "Pinkie Pie's Lullaby" better.
ReplyDeleteStill good though.
So touching :')
ReplyDeleteInsanely great comic that made me tear up. :(
ReplyDeleteFive stars!
That was, like, beautiful, man.
ReplyDeleteVery-very well-done.
That was beautiful.
ReplyDelete:'D
ReplyDeleteWow. That made me miss my own granny...
ReplyDeleteI had some weird medical reaction to the last page. My heart got all warm and...feel good-y.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and heartwarming. 5 stars fully deserved, and need not say more :)
ReplyDeleteAt first I saw it as an average comic whit good characteristically good pinkie pie, and then the last pages hit me. manely tears were shed.
ReplyDeletewonderful comic, loved it.
Wow, I really liked this :) Yes it had a sad part, and yes i teared up and almost cried but things like that do happen. I'm in the midst of something like that now so I can relate. And I have to say that seems like that is how Pinkie got her job in sugar cube corer and such. I am sure while catering to the Apple family that Pinkie would have told AJ some stories and such. I'm glad to have been able to read this comic :D
ReplyDeletecryface
ReplyDeletei hads a sad and a respect
ReplyDeletemy god
ReplyDeleteat work
and trying not to cry
T-T
I had already read the comic before it got posted and waited for it to get posted just to say it is amazing and one comic worth seeing again
ReplyDeleteLoved it to tears! Very sweet, and well done! :')
ReplyDeletebrought a tear to my eye, nothings done that in a long time :')
ReplyDeleteVery sweet, heartwarming pic. Brought a tear to my eye at the end, it did.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I've rated a comic post. All five of my stars to you, good comic author.
All my tears. This comic has them :')
ReplyDeleteNormally I'm not drawn to fanon for major characters, but this is amazingly well-crafted in its execution. It's in-character, fits well in the established universe, addresses an issue that would otherwise go unnoticed officially (bridging the gap between Granny Pie and Pinkie's known backstory), and, for what it's worth, is an absolutely gorgeous story.
ReplyDeleteGranny Pie will appear in an episode and this comic will crumble to lol.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteLook more closely. Pinkie is eating it.
Confound these ponies! They drive me to manly tears ):
ReplyDeleteAlso, more reasons to not love and tolerate Trixie >w>*
...and that is how you do a comic. Outstanding.
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteThis comic is brilliant! Major props to the author.
ReplyDeleteCAN SOMEONE PLEASE PUT A WARNING ON FURFAG LINKS!?!?!
ReplyDelete@jodyjm13
ReplyDeleteWait what, deviantart is worse than furaffinity for having to click full view to view images.The main thing being that you can't change the deviantart setting to always fullview unless your a premium member where as if you just sing in to furaffinity you can change the setting for free.
