Derpy Hooves bein ridiculous above, and the most recent "How Equestria Was Made" comic. Be sure to check out their page for more pony webcomic goodness!
#2 was pretty good. I laughed at Scootaloo's part since she's the only one there with the actual canon name. Guess it just goes to show how some are overreacting to the blind bag names. Because, for me, I won't accept any of them as canon until they are said in the show.
There's one thing Comic #2 has wrong: It's Apple Bloom, not Scootaloo. You think for a comic about the new names you'd cover THAT big shift XD Otherwise, laughed heartily at both.
2.Berry Punch(GAH BERRYSHINE) Carrot Top(GAH GOLDEN HARVEST) Lyra(GAH Heartstrings) Derpy hooves(GAH DITZY DOO) Great job Bon-Bon you are fully confused.
... Honestly I've pretty much gotten to the point that I'm just going to keep calling them by their fanon names.
I mean, seriously. The Lyra we're going to write about from now onward will almost always be the same human in a ponies body that we've all come to know and love over the past year. That isn't going to change in the near future.
#1 Ah, guess I don't play TF2 enough to find this humorous or really entertaining, aww. :P
#2 Yay comic I follow. But oh no, not more of this mismatched name business. lol Despite not considering the Hasbro toy names canon to the shows ponies, this is still pretty funny. :P
Loved the second comic. I don't know what I find funnier, that people actually accept these grab bag toys as canon names or the rage-fest that has exploded on the wiki.
Either way, the admins of the wiki are laughably pretentious.
I don't mind Hasbro changing all the names of all the background ponies, but they could at least put a little more effort into their toys! I mean, seriously, using a color hack to turn Twilight into Lyra? Or Pinkie into Carrot Top? Having the AUDACITY to pass off a unicorn FOR AN EARTH PONY!?! GIVING FLUTTERSHY A TOMBOY MANECUT?!?
In TF2, there's an achievement for crafting the Saxton Hale mask by using the other 9 masks that belong to the classes (Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper & Spy).
Heartstrings, better known as the supervillain, "The Heartbreaker," is Lyra's evil twin from Canterlot attempting to conquer Equestria. Lyra, when she isn't teaching music at the Ponyville Elementary school, puts on a suit and cape and fights her as the superhero known as "The Lyricist," using her siren song, shattering scream, sonic flight, and hypnotic harp superpowers to fight crime and restore order to Equestria.
Berry Punch, when she was younger and still single, had an obsessive fan, much the way Rainbow Dash has Scootaloo, named Shiny Stone. Shiny Stone admired Berry Punch so much that she legally changed her name, magically got her coat and mane color changed, and even her cutie mark centered around her obsession for her. Berry Punch thought it was cute at first, but it quickly got creepy after the first few times she dismissed Shiny Stone and she started doing these things. Finally, one day, when Shiny stone, now Berryshine, broke into Berry's house to get some "mementos" Berry called the authorities on her. Berryshine is now in a mental institution and is slowly recovering from her obsessive tendencies. While it wasn't technically Berry's fault that all this happened to Berryshine (after all, she brought it on herself), she still thinks that if she hadn't been so dismissive of the young filly so many years ago, she wouldn't be in this situation now and she feels very guilty about what happened to her, no matter how creepy she may have gotten. (This likely won't happen to Scootaloo since Rainbow Dash is actually rather supportive of her)
His name is Noteworthy Blues. He is a lounge singer in the local bar. His smooth voice and manly stature ensure that he gets all the ladies. Trust me. This is one smooth stallion. Every night he dresses in a suit and Fedora and lets his beautiful set of pipes do the rest. The fillies can't resist him.
She was named Golden Harvest when she was a young filly. Her parents were wheat farmers and assumed that her special talent would be farming wheat as well, so it seemed to be a good idea. Her parents never considered that the cruel little kids at school might come up with the nasty nickname "Golden Showers." Her parents were even more disappointed when it turned out that their daughter's special talent was farming carrots, not wheat. Frustrated beyond belief with her parents and her name, she moved to Ponyville and legally changed her name to "Carrot Top." where she would be near her favorite uncle Bluegrass and his daughter/her cousin Noi.
His name is Bluegrass. Her name is Meadow Song. It was a magical accident that caused it all. One day when he was young he and a friend accidentally wandered away from the field trip group around Canterlot Magical R&D when he was looking for a bathroom. Finding a small chamber and not realizing the scientists were going to be testing a magical burst in that room, the two of them looked around for where they might do their business when a flash of light hit the room and they found themselves turned into fillies. Bluegrass went home that day distraught, and his/her family was greatly compensated (His older brother Wheatley thought it was hilarious). When he woke up the next morning, he found himself a boy again. Now, whenever he feels strong emotional distress, such as intense emotion, he turns into a filly. It takes a while for her to change back into a colt (usually about 18 hours). This is why he's so laid back mos of the time, so as not to just change randomly. Over the years he slowly grew accustomed to it and he even feels it a part of his identity now. His wife, being a bisexual, thinks she hit the jackpot. He has named his girl self Meadow song. (Wondering who that other friend of his on the field trip was? That was his friend Caramel. Suddenly that scene in Appleoosa makes sense, doesn't it?)

I totally called the next one being a comic
ReplyDelete#1 something from TF2 I'm guessing?
ReplyDeleteBah paper bags are so last year. Haunted costumes are where its at.
ReplyDelete2nd Comic wins.
ReplyDeleteHmm, looks like that's exactly where it's from.
ReplyDelete"I'm waving my hoof"
ReplyDeleteDerpy Ditz, you are a damn genius. *120% serious*
I giggled a bit at number 2
ReplyDeletethat second one literally made me laugh out loud
ReplyDeleteLyra's name will now be Lyra Heartstrings for me, which works out well, since you never have to call her by her last name if you don't want to. :)
ReplyDeletetf2 reference ftw
ReplyDeleteBahahaha, both of these were funny.
ReplyDeleteThe second last panel in #2 set me laughing like mad, I find it far funnier than I should though the whole thing was great.
ReplyDeleteNumber one was good, silly Derpy.
#2 is awesome, it wins everything...yes, that's right, everything.
ReplyDelete#2 is amazing just for expressions alone.
ReplyDeleteThat's the muffin queen for you.
ReplyDeleteBerryshine works kinda well actually, being that it makes me think of moonshine, and that's kinda fitting for her
ReplyDelete#1 Anddd that's how MARECO was made!
ReplyDeleteLol @ comic 2. All the names Hasbro comes up with clashing against our fanon names.
ReplyDeleteThey'll always be Lyra and Bon-Bon to me.

ReplyDeleteComic two gave me a good chuckle.
ReplyDeletePlus, Berryshine just makes Berry Punch sound like more of an alcoholic now.
comic 2: I love the crazy repressions and how Lyra Heartstrings insists on "fixing" all the names.
ReplyDeleteThere's one thing Comic #2 has wrong: It's Apple Bloom, not Scootaloo. You think for a comic about the new names you'd cover THAT big shift XD
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, laughed heartily at both.
2nd Comic was funny but also made me angry because the FIM wiki insists on calling them by their blindbag toy names.
ReplyDelete@Wonderboltist Aura lol I see what you did there
ReplyDelete1. Ditzy blew my mind
ReplyDelete2.Berry Punch(GAH BERRYSHINE) Carrot Top(GAH GOLDEN HARVEST) Lyra(GAH Heartstrings) Derpy hooves(GAH DITZY DOO) Great job Bon-Bon you are fully confused.
2nd comic Sums up my struggle for the past week.
ReplyDeleteI just don't think I'll be able to switch to using the blind-bag names. It's just habit at this point.
Ditzy was dressed as the Green goblin, the archenemy of Spidermare, as anypony can clearly see.
ReplyDeleteof 2nd was awesome
ReplyDeleteI believe Bon-Bon's Hasbro name will be "Candysnacks McPreparedanus". Just saying.
ReplyDelete@Zarkanorf
ReplyDeleteGenious!
Lady Bubbliella Muffinda Ponyexpressia the Third is best pony. :D
ReplyDelete... Honestly I've pretty much gotten to the point that I'm just going to keep calling them by their fanon names.

On an offhand note, #1 was humorous x3
Oh Celestia, what is with Bonbon's dentistry in that second one?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand #1 ;_;
ReplyDeleteHaha, #2 is funny though. Poor Bonbon. :P
lol was bonbon singing "come on eileen" in the third to last panel?
ReplyDelete#2 The King would be proud!
ReplyDelete#1 was amusing, even without getting the TF2 reference.
ReplyDelete#2 is oh-so-true, and I think once again Derpy has the right idea.
#2 When Lyra (I refuse to call her Heartstrings) said, "I can't fix THAT!!" I laughed. Alot.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I'm not reading too much into it, but I Laughed when Scootaloo said "Hey" for being called Scootaloo...when she should be called a Chicken?
ReplyDeleteYea verily yea, thou runnest risks developing fanon for a show that is still in production...
ReplyDeleteHeartstrings > Lyra
ReplyDeleteNoteworthy > Blues
Golden Harvest > Carrot Top
Berryshine > Berry Punch
Meadow Song > Bluegrass
Thank you Hasbro for giving these background ponies some proper names.
#1 Ah, guess I don't play TF2 enough to find this humorous or really entertaining, aww. :P
ReplyDelete#2 Yay comic I follow. But oh no, not more of this mismatched name business. lol Despite not considering the Hasbro toy names canon to the shows ponies, this is still pretty funny. :P
I am SO jealous of Derpy.
ReplyDeleteStupid haunted gifts. Never find 'em anywhere.

ReplyDeleteSAXTON HAAAALE!
ReplyDeleteBon Bon will always be Sweets to me.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really get the first comic. Curse my computer's inability to run TF2!
ReplyDeleteThe second comic is hilarious and a decent representation of what it's been like on the wiki.
Was the fourth wall broken in the second comic?
ReplyDeleteWhen something becomes fanon on the scale that these names have, the producers really should adopt them into canon, amirite?
ReplyDelete#2 Lol Poor Bon-Bon
ReplyDelete...I'm sticking to the fanon names though, sorry Hasbro.
hey were is the leak song ah here it is
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQXRaKqh1ic
don't thank me XD
#1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9XSo1MLc9I
ReplyDelete#1 Went over my head but it has Derpy in it so that's good enough for me!
ReplyDelete#2 Rofl.
So Derpy went as Saxton Hale. Soon, someone will make a Derpy bag hat for TF2 and the circle will be complete.
ReplyDelete#1: SAXTON MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE!
ReplyDelete#2: Let it be know that I officially predict that Bon-Bon's name will turn out to be jawbreaker.
1. TF2 reference FTW!
ReplyDelete2. We all know that feeling. I just hope Studio B doesn't have to make those their names.
Epic win. 'Nuff said.

Golden Harvest/Carrot Top is easy to fix. Carrot Top is a nickname. See? It's easy.

#1 I always thought she went as a bag of muffins? Silly me.
ReplyDelete#2 I knew this would be made into a comic eventually.
The names, oh god the names. I don't like change *breaks down sobbing* Whyyyyyyyy!!?
