Not only did Trixie go through a Colt phase, but apparently, she was almost Celestia too! The voice actor (Kathleen Barr) for the Greatest and Most Powerful narcissist nearly landed the role, but was beaten out by Nicole Oliver in the end. All of this was reported over on Lauren Faust's DA page.
I for one am perfectly fine with our current obnoxious unicorn.

This would have been interesting.
ReplyDeletefirst?
ReplyDelete@Glitterface
ReplyDeleteNOPE.
Fourth!
ReplyDeleteTrixie as a colt? *punches screen* NO.
ReplyDeleteNow I wonder what Trixie have not been...
ReplyDeleteI swear you spell "role" wrong every time just to troll me.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit curious to see how that might have turned out.
ReplyDeleteBoth Trixie being a colt and (Kathleen Barr voicing Celestia.
0_0. Surprising.
ReplyDeleteWow. That would have been kinda wierd…
ReplyDeleteNow that would have been a disaster of Neighsayer proportions.
ReplyDeleteThe colt phase seems a bit off, but Celestia... That would have been interesting. Fanfic gears churning.
ReplyDeleteTrixie is my third favorite character. We need more of her.
ReplyDeleteYa know what? I saw Adventure Time a little while ago, and I think I might actually like to see Trixie eventually take on the same role as the ice king.
ReplyDelete...hmmmm... gotta think about that some more...
Lol that would have been ironic... I think...
ReplyDeleteHah, she'd have been an even greater troll!
ReplyDeleteA pony with so much bravado as a princess? Definitely not want.
ReplyDeleteHow is this worthy of its own post? I'm sensing extreme bias here.
ReplyDeleteTrixie =/= Trollestia... but then again, Luna =/= Rarity and Fluttershy =/= Pinkie Pie... amazing voice talent this show has
ReplyDelete@John M.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a slow news day.
Although I'm sure Seth merely forgot to consult you upon news posting requirements. Maybe you should remind him.
Think a few are mixing Trixie's personality with Celestia's.
ReplyDeleteThe voice actress auditioned for Celestia, but lost. The dialog would have still been the same, just the voice would of been different.
Think Trixie's voice but Celestia's words, no bravado or anything Trixie is known for.
Oh no. I just pictured a super hammy, narcissistic Princess Celestia in Trixie's voice.
ReplyDeleteI love Trixie as a character, but her being the royal leader of Equestria may have run me off of the show if I had heard it when I was still iffy about this whole fandom. Glad they went with another role. Still love Trixie though, and that VA does a great voice for her. But they picked the better character for Princess Celestia I think.
@John M.
ReplyDeleteHow is this worthy of its own post? I'm sensing extreme butthurt here.
@Earl Grey
ReplyDeleteNow your just being an idiot. This should have been in a nightly roundup.
Let the dystopian Queen Trixlestia fics begin.
ReplyDelete@John M.
ReplyDeleteBecause Seth is Pimp of this blog and we are all his Hoes.
*hands Seth wad of $100 bills*
We had a good night tonight, daddy!
Forget about Luna and Celestia! My fave princess is The Great & Powerful Trixie Ruler of Equestria! Get ownd pony sisters >:3
ReplyDeleteHmm, kind of hard to judge what that would have been like. I know how variable VAs can be.
ReplyDeleteYup. I'm sure there's numerous cases where the VA's auditioned for several roles or more and landed only one, or perhaps even one unrelated. It happens. I think the right choices were made though.
ReplyDelete@John M.
ReplyDeleteBecause Trixie is awesome and I'm totally biased.
Yep
I'm not a Trixie fan myself but I'm always interested in seeing some neat trivia thrown around, especially on a pretty dry news worthy day like today.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine Celestia not voiced by Nicole Oliver.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the Trollestia stuff Celestia doesn't get the love she deserves, she's an awesome character and Oliver is a huge reason why.
Seth think Trixie is awesome and is totally biased!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWoah! Who knew!? Next you'll tell me Spike's fot a crush on Rariry or something crazy like that!
Well, a stuck-up Princess Celestia would go with her sister and the ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE.
ReplyDelete(HI! I'M BILLY HAYS!!!)
That was a close one. Nicole has the most oozingly appealing voice of all the ponies. I swoon at her sound.
ReplyDeleteSeth fine with Trixie? Big surprise.
@Sethisto
ReplyDeleteThe Great Sethisto Has Spoken.
Now that that's out of the way...
Personally, I'm neutral about Trixie. However, I think that the Trixie in the current banner is completely awesome. SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE A FANFICTION.
@Flutterfan
ReplyDeleteExactly, the fandom is ruining her character by that.
I know it's all in good fun but you know..
Did anyone else take the title literally?
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought that the "colt phase" link was going to send me to "dicks everywhere".
ReplyDeleteWell thank God we got someone who's actually pleasant to listen to and fits the character, instead.
ReplyDeleteThat was close.
ReplyDeleteRelated only to the pic and not the actual post:
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see word "jelly" in the context of FiM (*especially* in the constructs "u jelly" or "I'm jelly") I can't help but think of the webcomic Unicorn Jelly: http://www.unicornjelly.com/
I have not thought of Unicorn Jelly for years. That was such a neat little (well, not actually little) comic. Thanks for reminding me of it, Proginoskes...I think I'll go rearead it a bit.
ReplyDeleteTrixilestia could had sounded even more troll if that could had happened. Thankfully it didn't.
ReplyDeleteHuh, that was an interesting bit of trivia.
