A new project is under way to give our buds over at Studio B some love this holiday season. Without them giving their all to make this show awesome, we wouldn't be here enjoying it! Check out the copy paste after the break to find out how you can contribute.
Jayson Thiessen, director of MLP:FiM-- and his amazing crew at Studio B-- deserve our support for bringing us this fantastic show. Therefore, a far-flung group of bronies is organising a coordinated effort to send the entire Studio B staff some amazing gifts from their devoted fans.
This effort is being led by Bejoty (of Northwest Bronyfest), Kadreal, and Purple Tinker (of BroNYCon). If you want to contribute to this gift of love from the community, read on.
1) Purple Tinker is collecting funds to be used to purchase a special surprise (thanks to Kadreal for this awesome idea!) to be delivered to the entire Studio B crew. (Bejoty may hoof-deliver the goods himself!) We won't spoil the surprise here-- in case any Studio B employees are reading-- but Mr. Thiessen is aware of our nefarious gifting plan, and approves.
If you wish to donate $5, $10, or $20 towards this gift (we need around $300-400 in total, so be generous), Paypal it to prpltnkr@gmail.com with the subject SPECIAL GIFT FOR STUDIO B.
Donations will close November 1.
2) Bejoty is collecting gifts of artwork, letters, custom ponies, and other tangible 'stuff' to be delivered to Mr. Thiessen and Studio B. If you think you may have something to send along to the effort, please contact him directly at bejotygames@Gmail.com. You will have until November 1 to get your item[s] to him, so if it's a crafty project you have in mind, get craftin'!
These guys have given us so much. Let's all give back to them!

ReplyDeleteHmm I might actually get involved in this!
ReplyDeleteEveryone can find a way to contribute something! Let's make this thing epic!!
ReplyDeleteWoo, totally going to donate ASAP.
ReplyDelete$300-$400... In 10 seconds flat. Seriously won't take long at all.
ReplyDeletedang it, i was late for drawfriend. =|
ReplyDeleteWell, if I had $10 spare, i would but I'm on tight budget on a sinking ship.
Time to print the Comic Con poster at 10 feet and send it in.
ReplyDeleteaww this is awsome!! i must find something to give!
ReplyDeleteIm fairly stingy, but I think i'll make an exception here, at the very least if I can't donate money i'll try my hoof at a drawing or something.
ReplyDeleteI dont think it will take them long to hit their goal though, we tend to be fairly good for things like this.
I just got a 50$ donation for my dramatic readings.... Might put it toward this!
ReplyDeleteLet's overrun that donation, for studio B.
ReplyDeleteFOR THA STUDIOOOOO
ReplyDeleteSeems legit. Make it good!
ReplyDeleteI get paid on the 21st. I'll gladly donate 5 or 10 sometime after that.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling if everypony donated then the whole team could afford a 2 month long cruise or something.
ReplyDeletePut in 5$ now. After my next paycheck, you can expect a whopping 50$ extra from me. Someone quote me now. I'm selling shit for ponies!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any artistic talent and money is tight going to college, but I think i'll try to donate anyways.
ReplyDeleteIf i had the means or the talent to support this i would, but sadly all i can give is my respect for such a great idea!
ReplyDeletethrows money at screen, screen falls off desk, uses thrown money to buy new screen.
ReplyDeleteI'd give if I could but I can't :(
love this idea
ReplyDeletewe all know money is tight, but it would be epic if we could at least make the goal. Remember these guys made the show that we all adore know. So everyone just try to spare a few dollars.
ReplyDeleteI'll donate $10 if somepony can promise me the "special surprise" won't be a stripper lol
ReplyDeleteI'm just kidding. I'm sure this will be really cool!
...
ReplyDeleteTHE IDEAS, THEY'RE FLOODING MY BRAIN!
I can only spare $5, but I hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteMight try to send some art too.
Ye, I'll do it. 10-20$ isn't to much to give that awesome studio that clearly deserves it.
ReplyDeleteJust sent 53$ plus the 5$ I sent already. Expect more if I can.
ReplyDeleteOH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS DERPY!
ReplyDeleteIF I HADN'T BOUGHT FREAKIN' WORLD OF GOO.........
and i can't risk any more money this month....
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'll make sure I donate, if you don't get all the funds in two days.
ReplyDeleteTen bucks sent in for this glorious cause. I can't wait to hear what they're gonna get.
ReplyDeletethose who can't donate could always wright a letter of thanks and praise along the lines of "I love the show" or "Keep up the good work" to be delivered along with the gift to be given.
ReplyDelete+$20. I'll bet this has already raised well over $400. Hopefully any excess money can go toward making the gift even more awesome.
ReplyDeleteI just sent Purple Tinker $20.
ReplyDeleteJust put forth $5.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a worthy cause. :D
Just sent in 20$ hope they get them something nice :)
ReplyDeleteConsidering the site's traffic, wouldn't the limit be easily surpassed even with $1 donations?
ReplyDeleteDon't risk not making ends meet to donate. We understand that not everyone is in a position to give money. We still love you <3.
ReplyDeletesent a little bit just now. can't wait to hear the reaction from the staff!
ReplyDeletechallenge accepted
ReplyDelete@ThemsAllTook It's at about 140$ just counting the comments on this page
ReplyDeleteI would love to donate some bucks, but I'm having a rough time right now. Maybe another time U__U
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I find this initiative wonderful ^^
a minimum of $140 in less than 45 minutes, I'm sure you'll surpass your goal.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGonna send in $5, this team deserves more than that but I'll just do my little part for now =)
ReplyDeleteOff to put some moneys into the paypal so I can help show the studio some love.
ReplyDelete*quick math calculations*
ReplyDeleteafter some misc. items, paying some bills, and putting away Youmacon funding, i should have 20-30 dollars to contribute. :D
I'll spread this around some other sites and see if any of my more financially bettered friends can pitch in :3
@Kein
ReplyDeleteContact Tinker anyway! I'm sure there's a way you can get a gift over to the studio!
This is awesome and everypony involved is awesome and should feel awesome.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what we got them! Let's give back to Studio B for all they've done for us - maybe if there's some spillover, we can get something together for Almighty Lauren as well...?
ReplyDeletei wouldn't be surprised if you already got $400 by the end of the day.
ReplyDeletehell yeah. all my money.
ReplyDeleteIm all in! of course I'll donate!
ReplyDeleteI'm allowed one random purchase a week per my saving guide. While it was going to go to a shirt from wlf.com, this just slid in front to take the prize.
ReplyDeleteI will donate as soon as I find my wallet, it's in here somewhere
ReplyDeleteLet's do this!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have $20 dollars total in my checking account right now. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteI'll try to contribute once I get more funds. Definitely something good to contribute to.
Nothing screams love and appreciation more than filly Luna wearing Celestia's choker and shoes.
ReplyDelete*Crown
ReplyDeleteLuna?! Y U NO wear the choker?!
$5 from me! I can't wait to see the result of this. Bravo to those that got this organized and are coordinating it all.
ReplyDeleteSharing + Caring is the Brony way. <3
Hmm, aren't they called DHX Media now?
ReplyDeleteOr was Studio B melded into DHX Media and still serves as an autonomous unit, so to speak?
Oh... muh gosh. Keep it coming, gang. At this rate, we'll be able to get 'em not just a huge delivery of awesome [REDACTED], but an amazing [REDACTED], already [REDACTED], as well!
ReplyDelete--PT
Pfft, $300/$400? Um...
ReplyDeleteHi we're the MLP FIM fanbase. Prepare to di-- err... be rich...
Seriously i'm donating at LEAST $20.
Donated $25 (Aussie $). Not sure how much that is now with the exchange rate...
ReplyDeleteDonated $20. I'm looking forward to seeing the final sum.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to get way more than $400 before November. I wouldn't be surprised if the money is fully raised before tomorrow morning. :P
ReplyDeleteI am richer than three nazis. Have some of dat cash.
ReplyDeleteI'll be surprised if we don't at least double the target sum. With all the money that bronies splash on plushies we should be able to do it no sweat. I'll contribute as soon as I get access to paypal again.
ReplyDeleteDonated 10 dollars, and I'm going to write a letter for them as well. Wish I could do more...
ReplyDeleteI sent a small wad.
ReplyDeleteHere $40, hope you reach your goal.
ReplyDeleteWorking on an astonishing artistic collaboration to pump some $ into.
ReplyDeleteJust added my $5 to the pool. I'm dirt poor these days, but when a meal can cost more than that... Why not give a little! $5 is nothing individually, but with the numbers this site pulls, we can collectively do great things!
ReplyDeleteAll stand in awe at the Great and Powerful Herd!
Rolled 2 d20 to determine donation amount, both came up 20. Why can't I be this lucky at D&D? Will donate in a day or two when I get my paypal up again.
ReplyDeleteAlso, we're up to 233$ just tallying amounts in the comments.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete^288$, missed a couple while typing.
ReplyDeleteDoing this. Donated $5, probably gonna draw something maybe.
ReplyDeleteBetter add another $50! I have seen the future, and IT. IS. PONIIIIIIIIIES!!!
ReplyDeleteDonated $70!
ReplyDeleteIs there a mailing address I can send it to, I don't have a credit card
ReplyDeleteI believe we have just broken the 300 mark. (At least in the comments)
ReplyDeleteScratch that... $400!
ReplyDelete@WarpShade
ReplyDeleteWell, with 2 more after your comment there is additional $120... So it's not over $400
Anyone think a painting is a good gift to send in? Or should I sell a fan painting and donate the money?
ReplyDelete@PewnyPL
ReplyDelete*NOW
NOW over $400. Dumb keyboard.
Oh, oh, oh! I wanna know what the surprise is! Tell meeeeee! lol I'm kidding, surprises are loads of fun. :D
ReplyDeleteI like this idea, it's very sweet. Everyone is being so nice. :')
I hate to be a spoilsport but can we get a source on this? Can't help but think this sounds like a great scam to pull.
ReplyDeleteIf its legit I'll throw in $5. Can't afford anything more though due to unforseen financial circumstances.
@Aranarth
ReplyDeleteSame here, college is a bugger =/
I think I'll try a letter... my 'artwork' is about as lethal as AJ's baked bads.
I put up $10.00 its not much, but
ReplyDeletethe community is like the Imperial Guard;
we make up for any downsides with quantity.
This is such a great idea! As soon as I have a spare $20 (Really hard to come by these days, things are tight for everyone!) I will send it in, these guys deserve it!
ReplyDeleteBad people counting the total!
ReplyDeleteAfter all, we want everybody to keep on donating, even after the amount has been surpassed! No need to... dissuade them with our current total ;)
Because MORE $ equals MORE AWESOME! :D!
Give me 10 days to transfer the money an ill donate 10
ReplyDeleteIf you don't closely monitor the donations, you're going to end up with thousands of dollars in Purple Tinker's account.
ReplyDeleteRunning total is up to 473$ just in comment amounts.
ReplyDeleteThis right here is why I love this fandom!
ReplyDeleteI mean, how many fandoms have done something like this? I can tell you now, not many at all.
I know we have reached the total and all but I cant help but pitch in. Now if only I had some money...
Tell you what. If I acquire ANY money before the 1st it will be going to this.
Since it looks like it's going over the 400 mark already, any plans on sending something to Top Draw too? I'm sure they'd love some of the adoration sent their way too.
ReplyDeleteIt seems we're going to end up having donated way more than 400$. So will they get a better surprise than was originally planned?
ReplyDeleteHey Purple Tinker, what about giving some love to the Filipino animators at Top Draw? They helped much of Studio B with Season 1, and completely took over the animation production in Season 2 so that Studio B can spend more time on pre-production. It would be neat if you guys send something to them as well!
ReplyDeleteChipped in for $7. And agree that Top Draw should get some love too.
ReplyDeleteShould've done a rockethub fund raiser!
ReplyDeleteDonated five dollars to the cause. Also, I am currently working on a holiday poem to Mr. Thiessen and the team at Studio B. With any luck, it'll be a thirty or thirty-five stanza limerick of sorts.
ReplyDeleteI'll toss $10 in, it's the least I could do.
ReplyDeleteWish I had a debit card or credit card or something, and a job. Considering all the hours of potential boredom burned and all the friends I met from this show, they deserve some of my money.
ReplyDelete@wackyteen Don't worry bro, I'll pick up your half.
ReplyDeleteJust sent 25 bucks your way. Make us proud and get our friends at Studio B something nice!
ReplyDeletewelp.
ReplyDeletetime to go to the hardware store again.
Just sent $25 to purple tinker. I may send more if when I get my paycheck.
ReplyDelete@Ryan
ReplyDeleteI agree with this, if we have leftover funds (which we probably will have tons of) we should send some love to the animators at top draw as well. They do all the hard work, they deserve it!
I feel like such a cheapscate.
ReplyDeleteI sent a whopping 3.52$ exactly.
After scrounging through my pants-pockets and under our couch, I was able to find something to contribute!
Really, though. This is an awesome studio, and I think that these gifts may very well inspire them to do better. If even for a whopping seven frames!
Wish I could send more! Especially knowing that this is well over the 400 mark by now.
Contributed $10.
ReplyDeleteIt's small but it's something.
I think we're at at least $500 now (I just donated $20)--and considering this delightfully insane fandom, I wouldn't be surprised if we topped a thousand dollars frighteningly quickly. What are the plans if the total sum ends up being WAY more than can be spent on the gift? If it comes to it, I'd second (or third, or fourth, or whatever we're at now) the motion to send something nice Top Draw's way, as well--and howsabout Lauren Faust? She should certainly get some love as well, if it can be managed.
ReplyDeleteIll go set up the lemonade stand!
ReplyDeleteWho cares if we hit the total already? ;3 I still donated $50 right now. Pimp them with gifts please. They deserved it all. :3
ReplyDeleteAnd guys, don't feel bad about the size you give. Giving a little when you don't have much has a so much greater meaning than if you give a lot when you got a lot anyway. Everypony's contribution matter, whether small or big. ;3
15$ sent
ReplyDeleteI started counting the comments on just this page where people committed to money (not just said maybe)
I stopped after It passed 500$
I'm always down for helping a good cause...And a good cause that involves one of my favorite TV shows?
ReplyDeleteHell Yeah! *Rushes off to find wallet*
As soon as I get paid!
ReplyDeleteman never before have i cursed my age this much! I really wish i could contribute but I cant use paypal and i dont have any artistic ability. Dammit, hopefully something like this comes up again in the future when i have a credit card or whatever you need to do paypal.
ReplyDeleteJust set $200 up to be put into my paypal account. In a few days when it clears, it's all going to this.
ReplyDelete... after just reading the thread, I count at least 400$ in "I'll donate" posts. Something tells me the target numbers for this are going to get blown out of the water. I'm in for 10, and I'll give a further 10 for someone who can't afford it right now.
ReplyDeleteThis idea is nice and all, but I remember that post where Jason said that he's receiving too much praise that he's comfortable with. Sure, this isn't just $400 free for Jason but rather the whole team, but just keep that into consideration.
ReplyDeletethan he's comfortable with*
ReplyDeleteSo donating $10 when I get it this friday and also probably buy me dat new rarity shirt on WLF.
ReplyDeleteTotal is up to 853$. This is going to be crazy awesome. Can't wait to hear final donation numbers as well as what the surprise is.
ReplyDeleteSent $40.
ReplyDeleteWe're discussing the idea of giving to Top Draw as well. Additionally, I am going to ask Jayson Thiessen if he is willing to deliver stuff through to Lauren Faust. Stay tuned.
ReplyDeletethrew in 10$ i assume they have at least 1k by now. Either send them a top of the line version of the thing you were planning on or find some more things to send them.
ReplyDelete@Purple TinkerSounds great dear! I'm tempted to throw in 100$ extra if you guys manage to fix gifts for Top Draw and Lauren as well. :3
ReplyDeleteJust got paypal back up and sent in 40$
ReplyDeleteCurrent comment-total is 903$
We're working out the logistics of gifting to Top Draw and Lauren. We're also picking out additional gifts to buy with the additional money. Custom [REDACTED] for MLP staffers [REDACTED], [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] are on the drawing board.
ReplyDeleteI love talking CIA-style. :)
You guys gave yourself way to much time to raise the money.
ReplyDeleteTo send in another 50$, or to send in another 100$?.... I'll contemplate it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much much but I gave $5. Hope it's a crazy awesome surprise!
ReplyDeleteAs the money grows, the plans for our lavish community gift grow as well. I think Bejoty (our delivery brony) is going to need a U-Haul to deliver all these goodies at this rate. :)
ReplyDeletewish i could help but i just spent 550 on a traffic ticket
ReplyDelete@Nomad_Dr._Whooves Ouch! That's a hell of a traffic ticket.
ReplyDeleteI am reaching out to jinratgeist to be our contact in the Philippines for delivering Top Draw's segment of this gift package.
ReplyDeleteNeeded a reminder to create a Paypal account to recover the bit of cash I dumped into Kiva a year or so back. Once that clears (could take a week or two) I can send about $8.33 over.
ReplyDeleteAlso agree with those saying that the results are going to be in the thousands. The Brony community can move a lot of money (especially if ebay auctions are any indication) and even more collectively. I predict it won't be long until someone notices this and taps us for some major disaster relief fundraising.
In for $15 here!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping Paypal won't close Purple Tinker's account for some batshit reason. They tend to do so when people donate a ton of money to an account.
ReplyDeleteI don't have an income right now, but I'm still contemplating sending a dollar or two. My main problem is being too lazy to set-up a PayPal account.
ReplyDeleteIf there's any money extra, buy some MLP:FiM figures/merch and donate to Toys for Tots.
ReplyDeleteIf I would already have the job I'm aiming for atm, I would be glad to give my first wage, but for now, I'll just give this 20$ I had left over. (may take some days, because paypal tends to take his time...)
ReplyDeleteSince I'm really bad at drawing or such, it's nice to have another way to say "thank you" rather than just say thank you : )
I donate all the time to the poor and my church, I think I'll toss some money over to these guys and gals as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've found anything as entertaining as this show and the fandom that it's created.
inb4 they receive thousands of dollars for the gift. If this happens, please just add more too it :)
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI have just given 20$. Buy something AWESOME for them!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Andrew - I think that donating the excess to groups like Toys for Tots (or charities that operate in Top Draw's area of the world), is far more worthwhile goal. Especially around Christmas time! Rarity would be proud of the fandom.
ReplyDeleteI honestly wouldn't be surprised if the donations reached over $10,000 or more by November.
ReplyDeleteAdd $20 from me. :D
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is all adding up fast...
Chipped in with $15, mainly because /)^ε^(\
ReplyDeleteI sent in $15 usd and one Albanian Lek.
ReplyDeleteI second the idea of excess going to something like toys for tots. Maybe make Cheerilee proud and find something education related. I'd say something science related for kids but I'm somewhat biased as a prospective physics teacher.
ReplyDeleteYou could probably buy Lauren Faust an actual pony while you're at it.
There are also a number of important contributors to the show who don’t work for Studio B (in any immediate sense). Be sure to include them.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1751105/fullcredits
Paypal, y u so broken!
ReplyDeleteAs a college bronie, I have no money or time to make anything, so all I can give are my best wishes.
ReplyDelete$20 to the folks who have brought me such joy: done. Now to get a letter or something for the other project going.
ReplyDeletethis is so much better way show my appreciation than throwing money at screen ( IT KEEPS FALLING OFF ) here have a 10$
ReplyDeleteWell $40 dollars is about £25 so i'll gladly part with it, might write a letter for the gift part as well. I love this community, I can't think of any examples where some other fans have done this for a show! (Might be wrong)
ReplyDeletePoor Purple Tinker. Having doubled the goal, he either needs to double the gift, or think of something more expensive.
ReplyDeleteyou guys need to watch out from paypal freezing your account!
ReplyDeletethey have done this before on occasions where too many transactions were made to one account within a short period of time , they consider it to be
a potential illegal activity and freeze the account with no warning!
it will be best to send them an email with some explanation as to what is going on and even links to the website and post before the rush of donations becomes noticeable.
i want to see how that total goes over the 50,000 mark by November 1!
extra credit pulled 100000 for alison's broken arm surgery and they were small compared to the bronie community.
Sent $15 dollars now! Hope we can get a good shot of that surprise!! ¬¬ xD
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to know what is itttttt!!! D=
Chipped in and happy to do so, but there is a legitimate whiff of concern about PayPal managing to be killjoy jerks one way or another.
ReplyDeleteSent them what I could. I also put my suggestion about donating to Toys for Tots (or a similar charity) in the message field. I hope they consider it. It'll still support Studio B by supporting the MLP brand and it'll help out some needy kids in the process.
ReplyDeleteI am from germany and the exchange from Euro to Dollar is rather good.
ReplyDeleteSo all european Bronys: Donate the shit out of it!!!
We're working out the logistics of gifting to Top Draw and Lauren. We're also picking out additional gifts to buy with the additional money. Custom [REDACTED] for MLP staffers [REDACTED], [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] are on the drawing board.
ReplyDeleteWe're discussing the idea of giving to Top Draw as well. Additionally, I am going to ask Jayson Thiessen if he is willing to deliver stuff through to Lauren Faust. Stay tuned.

They helped much of Studio B with Season 1, and completely took over the animation production in Season 2 so that Studio B can spend more time on pre-production. It would be neat if you guys send something to them as well!
That’s nice to hear… ^_^
Rarely do Philippine Animation Production Studios/houses get this kind love and attention…
With the gloomy state the Animation Industry in the Philippines is…it may look like Animation is doing well in the news…but that’s just the news…I am not a employee of Top Draw but as an artist trying to be break into the industry and hopefully will be working in the Animation Industry as well for another well known Animation Production house in the Philippines which is Toon City I probably have experienced what a typical artist working in the Industry has experienced In this country…overtimes, sleepless nights, deadlines, not having income to pay the bills and underpaid…
Believe me the industry here is not as a pretty sight as the news would say it…
With all your guys support I think Top Draw would have a very White Christmas Season this way
And I hope this may be start of something like the show would put it “Friendship is Magic” for the other Philippine Animation Production Studios/Houses as well
I rarely see Philippine Animation Production Houses Get Recognized and receive a similar amount of love and attention…because honestly they need it as well
"White Christmas Season coming this way"
ReplyDeleteFear not, everypony, I've dealt with Paypal's brokenness before. I'm going to go do some banking and funnel off a huge chunk of money out of Paypal right now (for once it is out of their hooves, they can't mess with it).
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI can already see the Headline: "Bronys buy Animation Studio"
ReplyDeleteOkie dokie lokie. Got ALL of the moneys sent thus far (over $2.2K, holy crap) safely out of Paypal and into my bank account. Now I can stop worrying about Paypal locking us out from the money, and resume worrying about which gifts to buy.
ReplyDeleteThis is rapidly approaching the kind of budget I usually go through in an entire BroNYCon. It is also an interesting study in "what to buy for the pony who has everything". For any random pony fan, it would be easy-- buy ONE OF EVERYTHING. But for the CREATORS of pony, it has to be custom stuff, which makes this a much more interesting challenge!
I am already ordering a number of incredible custom things for Studio B, Jayson, Lauren and Top Draw. However, if you have any suggestions, shoot them my way in an email-- prpltnkr (at) gmail (dot) com.
"(over $2.2K, holy crap" XD omg
ReplyDelete"I can already see the Headline: "Bronys buy Animation Studio" a much bigger Omg XD
Lets keep giving! I wouldn't be surprised if we broke 10k towards the end of the deadline.
ReplyDeleteI love this community..
ReplyDeleteplease update us on the amount collected daily,
ReplyDeletethe post is only out but already buried under all the other new ones.
You have my blessing! I'll do a donation.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to handcraft something but I live in Europe and it wouldn't get there in time for sure.
Oh already over $2.2K? Holy shit :D
ReplyDeleteWell, a little extra won't hurt.
Threw $5 at this. Just quit job, so have to take it easy with throwing money at things; still, this is worth it. If we can make that studio feel happy and loved, the show will only get better!
ReplyDeleteAnd....2.2k. Celestia **** my **** with a fist full of balefire!
@galwww
ReplyDeleteYes, make this a link under the banner at the top right under the luna episodes. That way everyone can see it and donate.
Bless my strong national currency atm. Have all my money and please do something nice!
ReplyDeleteJust sent a small donation too. Here's hoping we reach epic numbers :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, this post needs to go on the front page. Sethisto we're looking (askew) at you!
I've got no money to send, but I make pony-centric jewelry so maybe I can donate some!
ReplyDeleteI know where my first paycheck is going... (besides a viola... I really want a viola.)
ReplyDeleteChipping in a little to help pour more sauce on this massive sundae!
ReplyDeleteSince the sum is appearing rather ludicrous, what if we could set aside a portion for a charity or other philanthropic project? I mean, we can only get so many material things for these people we're thankful for. I think having them know that our love for them is also helping some needy people would be a great boost for them as well.
@dinc
ReplyDeleteBalefire?! Why would you willing do that to yourself?!
Well paypal is bein stupid, I wish I could send some money, but all I can do is wish you luck and I have also spread the word around, I completely support this!!
ReplyDeleteludicrous?
ReplyDeletebut were only over 5 times the required total...
keep it up and we can afford to also build that golden lyra worship statue that we all wanted :D
"Oh already over $2.2K? Holy shit :D
ReplyDeleteWell, a little extra won't hurt."
XD add some more little then XD
...keep it up and we can afford to also build that golden lyra worship statue that we all wanted :D...
a what??? O_O
Meanwhile, back in April, four very extraordinary individuals (plus one) donated quite a bit of money to charity in exchange for pony merchandise. When I saw "$400 target" and "November 1" I thought minimum $400 per day on average until November 1 = $8,000; possible projected average of $800/day = $16,000. When I saw that we had gotten $2.2k in around 16 hours I thought With the likelihood that it will taper off somewhat, this would confirm my (admittedly rather broad) projection. Either way, when we denizens of teh internet say "ALL OF MY MONEY. TAKE IT.", we aren't just making idle threats. I hope that whatever ends up being too much excess for gits for the pony teams, can go to a charity of some sort (Toys for Tots for instance, as fitting/ironic as that may be). I just hope that this love and praise doesn't generate any animosity between the FiM crew and the other teams at DHX. Maybe we should at least acknowledge the efforts of Pound Puppies? Not only has "Secret Butt Fun" inadvertantly become a staple meme in bronydom, but when we were watching the live stream of S2E2, we all seemed rather keen on watching Pound Puppies for a while after the episode ended until the host set the channel to replay the episode.
ReplyDeleteSomepony get on that! The bronies want to know! Is Pound Puppies worth watching? Or is Studio B a one-trick pony (pun intended)?
@waffle911 *GIFTS not gits d'oh
ReplyDeletelets put it this way, pound puppies is no MLP, but give it a shot if you are interested. Its not produced by studio B just animated by them. They do have Daniel Ingram though.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly does Top Draw do? Do they just finish the animation or what? I know all the creative and voice acting are done on this side of the world, whats their part in all of that.
Aaaaaand there's another $55. You better make sure Lauren gets something awesome! I had to abandon getting her a custom present-from-the-bronies due to I couldn't really get in contact with her and find out where to send it off to.
ReplyDeleteOver $2.2k and still growing?! Let it never be said that this community does not embody the element of Generosity. All of y'all are just awesome.

ReplyDeleteTheir more or less the Production Grunt for Studio B and other studios most of the animation (in between, key frames, animation, etc) work is done in Top Draw, Studio B handled most of the pre-prod (story boards, scripts, final layouts, final digital inking etc) since yeah i guess it would be make it easier for Lauren since she lives more or less within the same area as Studio B so going to Studio B is a lot let hassle
No to including Pound Puppies, this was meant for MLP. However, I do give my support in regards to spending any spare cash (i.e. run out of ideas for gifts) on some charity instead.
ReplyDelete@TheVampirate As far as I understand it Studio B now only takes care of setting up the framework while Top Draw do most of the dirty work in regards to the animation.
this is a very common setup not only in Top Draw but other animation studios in the Philippines as well...
ReplyDeleteWhere most of the Pre-prod/Conceptualization stuff happens in the states and the grunt work is sent here
Like Toon City somewhere in the Manila area in the Philippines works for Disney Animations, Warner Brothers, Universal etc a good example would be hmmm Lilo and Stitch, Kim Possible, Tarzan 2, The Fox and the Hound 2, Disney's Atlantis etc Toon City had a hand in bulk of its production and currently the latest project Toon City is currently handling is Voltron Force
Then there's Rubicon Studios...not sure what projects there currently handling...last time i asked me previous mentor she just mentioned they are working on Pink Panther currently
Then there's Holy Cow...but Holy Cow is more into advertising than animated cartoons
"lets put it this way, pound puppies is no MLP"
XD come on guys give other animated shows a chance a lot of the shows animated shows you probably watch...1/3 or even more of its production was done in the Philippines...problem is given how bad the state the Philippines is right now...animation industry here doesn't get that much love...>_< the masses are more interested in putting money into local stars...which most of them don't even deserve it...i tell you its a circus around here
It got even quite bad there used to be another animation studio that closed down that used to work for Hannah Barbera...you know Flintstones etc etc... sadly since they had to close down...they had to lay off 100 or so talented animators...as to how i know it, one of those animators became partly my mentor during high school years and my college professor for character animation

ReplyDeleteXD which is probably also why you very very rarely see any pinoy producers and such or working in the head positions outside the Philippines like directors, producers etc...usually were stuck as the grunts >_<...having to worry about bills and such or when the next project will come in :P
"is a lot less hassle"
ReplyDeleteIn regards to the Game Industry, in the Philippines it follows a very similar production as well, a lot of of planning and such is done in the states, and usually if ever a Philippine Game Production house would help in the production we get stuck with mostly the grunt work
ReplyDeleteso in the long run, in the future i do hope with the success of MLP:FIM, you can show your love and appreciation to the other Animation Studios aside from Top Draw here in the Philippines because they/we work our hearts out to do the grunt work for the other cartoons you Bronies/Brony probably watch
ReplyDeleteSo... can we buy the team a cruise vacation? =D
ReplyDeletePaypal! Why are you still showing Status: Unclaimed?
ReplyDelete@AlanJCastonguay Give it some time~
ReplyDeletePurple Tinker already "claimed" the first wave of donations, I'm sure she claim the rest once she figured out what extra gifts to invest in. :3
