It looks like Hasbro is finally rolling out some G4 pony fruit snacks. Sadly, behind the cardboard Twilight Sparkle exterior hides a monster that few bronies can relate with.
Alright, "monster" might be a little mean, but this definitely doesn't look like the Pinkie Pie I know and love.

ReplyDeleteMr. Ben here. I was the one who submitted this. I have to admit, I was pretty surprised myself.
I sort of have to applaud the marketing tactics. The box with the G4 design JUST appeared this week, with my local Shop N Save having gotten rid of the other boxes with the previous design (which had the G3 Pinkie instead of Twilight Sparkle).
There were a handful of boxes on the shelf with the previous design.
That box there in the photo WAS THE ONLY ONE at the store. I was lucky to snatch it up. So, yeah. I wonder how many bronies are in my neighborhood? >_> *shrug*
Anyway, yeah. Didn't expect the old packaging. And unfortunately, Seth was a little off. I should've taken a closer photo, but the images on the box are not of actual G4 ponies. It's the same gummy shapes as they were on the original package.
Not that it matters, since the gummies themselves aren't of any recognizable shapes. They're just fruity gummy blobs.
They're not bad, though. For gummy fruit snacks, anyway. Only four flavors, however. Decent enough little treat, if you happen to be into that sort of thing.
Twilight's vector is what scares me the most O_o

That Twilight on the box is the most poorly rendered vector I'm seen to date, with absolutely disturbing anatomical mistakes. The G3 pony on the individual packs inside is better drawn, and that's just very wrong.

They still have the old G3 MLP fruit snacks at our Fairshare which is a small cheaper grocery store. But at least its not a lie the box is still G3 as well. Bronies and little girls a like will want the new MLP so makes me wonder how many actually buy those things still.... probably why they just sit there a collect dust...
