Finally an Android game! Rainbow Dash is at it again with more cloud destroying hijinks. For the most part, it seems really well made. Dash's movements are much smoother than some of the other cloud breaking games out there. The only issue I had with it was an ad in the corner of the screen that blocks the score bar. That's inevitable on Android though!

ReplyDeleteIt could use a sensitivity setting for when using tilt for input, and I can't say much about the graphics since my phone's screen is too small to make much out. There's no sound, either (or else my phone isn't playing it). Overall, not a bad game.
Aside from the ad, this game is definitely the best pony app on the android market. The ads are inevitable, so ill just focus on the positives. Great gameplay, smooth controls, overall awesomeness. I dont usually use this meme, but it is about 20% cooler than any other pony app out there

ReplyDeleteI broke my old nokia which I depended on to deliver my dose of pony throughout the workday, so being a dedicated brony I decided to buy my first android phone at considerable expense so I could continue my daily pony. How am I feeling right now? JUSTIFIED!

Wow, finally something I knew about well before EQD! I've had this on my phone for the last week or so, at least shortly after it came out since I search "My Little Pony" in the market about once a week. This game has been my entertainment at work this past week (since someone went and got themselves fired and I've had to spend at least a couple hours working alone) and I have to say it's simple yet fun. I tried the default touch control but in the end opted for the "joystick" control option and haven't even wanted to try the tilt option. The author of this app also made a Rainbow Dash live wallpaper that has her continuously attacking clouds that is pretty cool too. I highly recommend both. As for the question from @cursormortis RD is the easiest pony to make games with I guess. I'm sure someday we'll get some kind of Fluttershy animal care game or a Twilight Sparkle... Ebook reader? As we get more Bronies with mad programing skeelz working on this stuff I'm sure we'll see more pony variety. My personal request right now though would be something like and optional sprite swap to Derpy delivering mail. XD

ReplyDeleteSome day this game will be a nice little game... Right now, as denoted by version .2, it's more or less just a demo of what's to come. As far as I can tell there is no way to lose, no music/sound, and is way too easy to chain combos even for a kids game.

ReplyDeleteIt works on HTC Wildfire S and it's very nice looking.
ReplyDeleteIt's also very small and doesn't take a lot of memory so leaving it on storage is ok. But if you add music (and thus the space requirements get bigger) can you please allow a move to SD (If it's possible.) The Wildfire S doesn't have lots of storage space and I'd like to keep this nice game on.

ReplyDeleteThis app is great! I can't wait to see what they're going t update it with! I'm hoping for a way to charge up for a sonic rainboom. The biggest thing I think they need to do is zoom in some. I felt we were given way too much space, and made It easy to dodge clouds. (also, as much as I liked the trailing rainbow, it got on my nerves when it was super long)

ReplyDeleteI guess the only way to install in the "uncompatible" phones is to try to override the Market by installing the .apk manually. Sometimes the app actually *does* work, but it's either sub-optimal or uses a different resolution.
ReplyDeleteMine is a Galaxy 5, and it shows as "not compatible" through the Android Market. I really would like to try with the .apk itself.
I suddenly have the need to buy an Android...

ReplyDeleteThe ad blocking the score bar is not inevitable it's a user experience issue, it's entirely possible to arrange for a margin which prevents any of the game area from appearing under the ads

ReplyDelete@HydraSkillz Oh! A character select would be pretty cool. Then you could get into all sorts of fun stuff like get X amount of points in a single play session to unlock Y character or something like that.
