I'd really like to give the Crazy Train one the thumbs up, since I love the song, but honestly, it was just... bad. There was no logic to the scenes that were picked, and the novelty of Octavia playing the electric guitar cello wore off in a matter of seconds. I'm not really sure I understand how that one made it through the quality gates, to be honest. :(
I was excited for Crazy Train, but honestly, the editing kind of sucked. It doesn't seem like much work went into it and it really wasn't that interesting.
#2 is lovely to listen to in the background, but the editing could use some serious work. It's not horrendous, but it's not great. Still, practice makes perfect!
Haven't heard Crazy Train in quite a while. I seem to have gotten a lot of airtime in this video. lol Also, dat slowing and speedup. :P It was alright. Though as much as I don't like to say it, it cut to me an awful lot, maybe just a little too much.
Ah, stilly not seen that movie. Like the song. And the video was pretty good too.
In video production we are taught to not leave the same shot onscreen for more than 5-7 seconds. The viewer gets antsy and bored fast. #2 broke that rule, a lot.
#1 was great! We need more somber dreary artistic-angle pony vids.
#2 Keep on practicing! You'll get there. Work on the frames, timing, lip-syncing, scenes, video resolution.. adding a real guitar would be easy with that string instrument being so still. GL on your next project. :}
#3 Thumbs up for effort! I guess that song's just not my jam :p
3 was capital A-mazing. Excellent use of footage and wonderful synching (AJ's clip round 2:40 was perfect). And Princess and the Frog is generally super, so it was extra awesome.
#1 was quite technically good, but it utterly failed to move me in any way and I have no idea why. I was excited for the Saionji Song, but #2 was 'meh' at best. #3 was epic. I had no idea what I was missing, not having seen the source movie. Not until I saw and heard this.

ReplyDeleteThe other two were pretty good though.
Amazing crazy train RIP Randy Rhoads
ReplyDeletei love that first song ^^
ReplyDeleteI loved Crazy train but I got friends on the other side took the cake!
ReplyDeletei think it's a bad idea to call fluttershy a "flip-flop".
ReplyDelete#1 is really good, love the song.
ReplyDelete#2 was done really well too. I liked the scenes that were shown for each part.
Never saw The Princess And The Frog myself, but this song sort of made me want to, good scene matching.
Fluttershy + Crazy Train = Epic
ReplyDeleteWas I the only one who thought #1 was going to be boats and hoes pmv?

ReplyDeleteI can't stand the failed widescreen in #2, lasted about 10 seconds before I got annoyed with the squished ponies. :X

ReplyDelete#1 was my favorite, but #3 was alright.
ReplyDeleteAww, that first one was so sad. Nicely done.

I knew fluttershy was metal
ReplyDelete@BigMacintosh
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing XP

ReplyDeleteHoly crap. I've been thinking about trying to make a PMV to 'Boats and Birds' for awhile now. Looks like another brony beat me to it! Great job!
ReplyDelete@Kris It's always the quiet ones. Loved Pinkie's tail at the start!
ReplyDelete2. Great concept, but needed better lip syncing and less Octavia.
ReplyDeleteI should have been rocking out to Crazy Train, but that video just didn't do it for me man.
ReplyDeleteFriends on the Other Side had some pretty good synching, if you ask me.

Loved #3! Was so happy for Princess and the Frog came out, if only because of the classic animation.
ReplyDeleteOh gawd, the first one stopped my heart for a second O_0

ReplyDeleteFluttershy AND Crazy Train? So much win.
ReplyDeleteCrazy train ponified = life complete. xD
ReplyDelete#3 was the only one I really liked here actually. #1's song was meh and while I love Ozzy #2 needs a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteDiscord as Facilier really works to me, and the song (like so many Disney songs) is just great. Nice work.
1. Good song.
ReplyDelete2. It was okay, seemed a bit too drawnout and needed variety.
3. This video does the movie justice.
#3 Facilier + ponies? OH GOD YES.
ReplyDeleteSad Spike makes me sad =(.
