ReplyDeleteHas there actually been any post on EQ so far about ponies in stores in the UK? I know a while back it was mentioned that they will be heading over to the UK, but I can confirm that they ARE here, in case people don't know. Maybe there has been a post about it already and I missed it, someone lemme know.
ReplyDeleteBut either way, there are many G4 ponies in my local Tesco and Toys R Us now, including that oh-so-rare 4-pack of figures of Twilight, Dash, Rarity and Pinkie.

ReplyDeleteHuh, that Rainbow Dash they used on the side of the building looks like a giant sticker. We have similar things on the walls here. Same size too it looks like. Cool. :) And I don't mind some graffiti. It can look quite nice and artful. :D
Nice Rainbow Dash case. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of these yet really. I know all the big computer builders and customizers are around. ;) And I know a few companies that do absolutely fantastic work with custom cut cases.
A chalk pony is fine too~ And a giant one no less. Some one will probably 1-up this eventually too. Just watch.

ReplyDeleteRegarding the Freaky Friday part of the post, I should direct some of you guys to a fic called "To Trot A Mile In Another's Hooves", featuring Applejack and Rainbow Dash taking on a bet where they have to switch places. It's a really good read. :)

ReplyDeleteLooking at those Pony recolors, I'm kind of annoyed at how lazy Hasbro is being (even though I own no pony toys at all). I don't blame them for opting for simple recolors on the toys themselves since the sculpts are not all that unique anyway, but what excuse is there for just recoloring the pictures of Rarity, Dash, Cheerilee and such on the box? Take the 15 minutes to have an artist draw a different mane on the illustrations (since the doll hair on the toy will never match it anyway) and suddenly it actually looks like a new character rather than a color-shifted copy.

Oh, and I'm gonna come out and admit it here: Big Macintosh is best secondary pony. I just wish they didn't kill his character, taking him from being Applejack's experienced (and "wise") older brother to a catchphrase-repeating "+1" character, but here's hoping he gets some redemption (however small) in the future.
Seriously, I can't even call that guy a background pony. He MUST be secondary by this stage! :P
Fan in-jokes about liking specific characters too much aside, yeah, that's probably the right link considering it's the best out of all of them. Best video quality (and frame rate!), clearest audio, and it actually spans the entire session.
That giant chalk pony is literally right outside my dorm. It's pretty great.

You know, I was actually going to write that story... a Freaky Friday crossover with Rarity and Applejack switching places on the day that Rarity would have a meeting with Hoity Toity and on the day Applejack would star in a Rodeo. But I guess if everybody is going to be doing it (probably better than I could) I might as well leave it to the others and focus on one of my other crossover ideas.
