#1 deserves traditional instruments. Synthy strings are the only thing holding this back from epicness. Also, Rainbow Nuke/Atomic Rainboom dubstep = yay!
#1 is very good, as is all the artist's stuff. There's one on his channel called "Luna's Reign," and I loved it. I do agree with SilFoe, though. It would be much better with real instruments.
Didn't care for #2, but not a fan of dubstep, so moving on.
#3 was very pretty, but it reminded me of one that was up a couple weeks ago called Magic.
Also, the drum part on #1 is a bit generic, and definitely not how I would have written it. It fits well enough, but it's very bland. Then again, I used to play percussion, so that tends to be what I focus on.
#1 Eh, wasn't too shabby. Though I didn't find it particularly interesting or such to be honest. I agree with what some have said above about more real-sounding instruments. I didn't dislike it though, it's okay.
#2 Was alright. Maybe a little too... Dubstepy for me? lol I dunno. It felt slightly heavy for my tastes.
#3 Hmm. This one sounded a little like a number of others I've heard posted here it seems. It wasn't bad, I still liked it.
Hmm, people seem to be complaining about real sounding instruments on my song (number 1). the instruments are actually real, but the pitch is changed to match each new note. There's nothing I can really do to make a real instrument sound more real. Sorry.
I think the majority of people complaining that the strings sound too synthy have not heard actual string synths. Even most sound fonts cannot produce that quality of a sound.
Is it a bad thing that I have built up so much tolerance to shipping by now that my mind did not instantly recoil at the thought of Discordia?
Also, I really like the way the first sounded. I like how Scratch's parts didn't overpower Octavia's, as I have seen them do before. The artist did a very good job of blending them together.
#3 by LavenderHMusic is awesome. It's like Chopin meets Aaron Copland, a Romantic composition in the true sense and I can't wait to see what's in store in the next movement. 8^)
#1(as the Soldier would say) I LOVE IT!!! #2 hmmm... I should ask a DJ to play this. Insta rave. #3 zzzzzz.... (dreams of the Luna sky, while hearing this in the background.) Then suddenly, galaxy upon galaxy rushing past my very eyes. Each their own shape and size.... finally, floating down onto my bed, waking up and going back to school...

I love #2, especially the subtle inclusion of the nuclear strike siren.
ReplyDeleteOverall, a good selection this time around.
Finally #3 made it on EQD!!! This goes AWESOME while reading "My Little Dashie"
ReplyDelete#1 is awesome. A fast Orchestra piece with a tiny bit Vinyl thrown in
ReplyDelete#2 is also awesome. Very good dubstep. I like the first bit better than the second part.
#3 was just incredible. Another awesome orchestra piece.

I think I shall take #3 to my orchestra... Perhaps...
ReplyDelete@LMayo A full score may be available at some point, if requested. (If you're not joking, that is, and are indeed part of some sort of ensemble)

Sweet, good to see that #3 finally got into a music post!
ReplyDeleteI guess this isn't a bad place to mention that I'm writing another story to go along with the story Lavender wrote that song for.
loved number 3 the best
ReplyDeleteMeh... Still don't like dubstep very much.
ReplyDelete#1 and #3 were nice, though!
1. Nice.
ReplyDelete2. YES, this is epic!
3. Sweet melody.
