#1 is way to good just to be about the Lunar Republic. It could be a musical piece in a movie.
Gah, how does all this talent find its way into this fanbase, of all places? This is like the Renaissance of the internet. Kudos to the musicians that designed these pieces.
#1 - Amazing. Just, wow. I need to play that on something way better than my crappy earbuds here at work as soon as I possibly can, because there's no way they're doing justice to this piece.
#2 - How convenient. I'm flying the Equestrian flag at work this week for our office olympic games, and now I'll have something to play at the award ceremony if I ever win an event.
#3 - Interesting, but it never seemed to go anywhere, like the climax of the piece got left out.
I don't think I'm joining the Lunar Republic bandwagon just yet, but damn, that first song was really awesome! =D Infinite props and kudos to the maker, as well as youtube likes and favorites lol.
What's wrong with Princess Celestia? For hundreds of people who don't live under her rule...
I think Studio B should incorporate the whole "Luna and Celestia can hear the voices of their subjects while sitting on their thrones" thing from Hoennshy. Really good idea.
#1 I like the pic they used. Nice. I also like this song, pretty good. Has a nice strong and dynamic feel to it. Great for something like this. For The New Lunar Republic. :)
#2 Sounded pretty good. Think someone else pointed this out too, about the guitar. It sounds kinda cool, but I dunno. Sounds a bit modern or such for a proper anthem. But maybe I'm just old-fashioned like that. Still a nice piece.
#3 Hmm, I rather like this piece. It's got a nice flow to it. It's not overdone but not too soft and simple either.
I imagine quite a bit of work went into each of these songs, but I couldn't get behind a single one. I think this is the first time I've disliked an entire music post. O.o
I've never been a fan of the whole Lunar Republic vs Solar Empire thing. Putting aside canon, it doesn't even make much sense in fanon. After episode two Celestia and Luna essentially agree to reform into a Diarchy - so... Where's the civil war concept come in? I blame Fan Fiction. :P
Regardless, that first piece is absolutely gorgeous. However from a symbolic standpoint, the second one, the anthem, is better because it reflects the unity of Equestria.
#1 Seriously? Seriously? Ok, I've managed to avoid saying this until now, but how are you people so damn brilliant? Dammit this is incredible. I almost can't believe this is about ponies, of all things. Ponies.
#2 This is good. I don't really think of it as a Solar Empire thing, though. It's more just Equestrian.
#3 Definately martial. For some reason I still picture Luna - as a leader - being a bit more martial than Celestia, who's just a bit of a troll at worst.
As the author of the National Anthem there in #2 (I have a different name on DA than here) I am absolutely THRILLED that this made it up :D
So glad how most of you seem to like it :) not sure where the idea that it's for the "Solar Empire" is though... I strictly referenced both the sun AND moon. I guess it's the image, though I didn't choose that image. The guy that set up the video did.
I don't know about Lunar or Solar empire ,but all of these songs are amazing! ... Is there a "Anarchy that Discord runs" sort-of group? XD That anthem would be epic.

ReplyDeleteWhoo! Go Luna music!
ReplyDeleteThe 1st one reminds me of the Titanic for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd video makes me feel proud for loving this fandom.
The 3rd video reminds me of an epic battle. Or maybe it's because of the picture hence marching.

All in all. Awesome music.

#2: Absolutely amazing!
#3: Very nice tune.
As we flow in the night, we sing to the stars;
ReplyDeleteWhile withstanding blight, we heal our scars.
From Dusk 'till Dawn, we march our ways;
Not once have we withdrawn, nor set ablaze.
We respect our friends, as we respect our foes;
We make amends, even with those we appose.
We are of the night, we are of the moon.
We are the New Lunar Republic, and we hail the Lunar Rune.

That first video is beautiful and captivating.
ReplyDelete#1 - All hail the New Lunar Republic! Down with the Celestial Empire!
ReplyDelete#2 - All hail the Celestial Empire! Down with the New Lunar Republic!
I proudly serve the Solare Empire!
ReplyDeleteIs #1 typically sung in "old Equestrian?" [grin]
ReplyDelete1 and 3
ReplyDeleteI came.
The Lunar Republic continues to march, an unstoppable force guided by the stars towards a grand and unfathomable destiny...
ReplyDeleteHoist your flags, LNR - Hoist them high!

ReplyDelete:/ Not impressed tonight.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I'm just in a bad mood
#1 - awwwww yeah!
ReplyDelete#2 - But...I...I like Luna more but this, this is so freaking epic. /salute Celestia
Okay, so I'm not sure what the New Luna republic thing is, I'm guess it's a Fallout: Equestria thing. Gotta get round to reading that.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I loved #1.
Welcome to the NLR Seth, here is your honorary banner, poster, bobby pin, sticker, and of course, bumbersticker. =P

I downloaded every song and subbed to every one. Seriously, this post is god-tier.
ReplyDelete#1 is amazing.

#3 amazing as well... that first one though, it was just too much win.
ReplyDelete#2 was good, but it didn't have epicness to back it up like the other two did.
@Son Gopaul
ReplyDeleteOkay, I just looked it up. It has nothing to do with Fallout: Equestria. Still an interesting concept though.
I imagine quite a bit of work went into each of these songs, but I couldn't get behind a single one. I think this is the first time I've disliked an entire music post. O.o
ReplyDelete1) Nice. Very nice. Why does it remind me of Spacechem though?
ReplyDelete2) Beautiful
3) Wow, that's some awesome art there. And so is the music.

My two bits.
The second one was amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe first one was bucking brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAnd when the second one was started I couldn't help but throw my hoof up in a salute! xD
The third was pretty meh honestly... Felt very bland.
#1 Seriously? Seriously? Ok, I've managed to avoid saying this until now, but how are you people so damn brilliant? Dammit this is incredible. I almost can't believe this is about ponies, of all things. Ponies.

1. Peace Corps, I take no sides!
ReplyDelete2. *Salutes*
3. cool, but slightly eerie.
I love this fandom sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteRequiems, anthems and marches are some of my favorite styles and genres of music.
ReplyDeleteAll of these videos, IMPRESSIVE!
#1 Not too bad, gotta say its a clever touch. Hearing some Garageband symphonic loops in there, approved.
ReplyDelete#2 I'm still gonna be a skeptic on this whole "national anthem" business. Song is well done though!
#3 Color me a snob, but having orchestral instruments would make this 20% better
The Lunar Republic shall conquer all! FOR THE NLR!
ReplyDelete@Gordon Freemane
ReplyDeleteBecause, no offense, nobody cares for the Solar Empire.
Also, you could try making a song. Better than complaining.
#3 Definately martial. For some reason I still picture Luna - as a leader - being a bit more martial than Celestia, who's just a bit of a troll at worst.
ReplyDelete@Shrimp Almighty I really DID salute, lol.

Really loved #2! *salute*
ReplyDelete#3 Beginning = Red Alert Hell March.
