    2. Since I do a lot of orchestral music, I had to listen to Octavia's 9th. I like the build on it, though I felt some of the instruments should have been down an octave. They just seemed a little too high pitched for me. Either way, It's still quite a nice piece.

    6. #1 sounds like a bit of Banjo Kazooie and the Halloween-themed maps in TF2.

    7. It's been said before and it'll be said again, but I'm getting all kinds of Gruntilda's Lair and Witchy World vibes from #1, but the entire thing's been perfectly orchestrated. This is a perfect tune for anything Halloween related.

    9. 1# The "Kirkhope" is strong with this one. A good emulation of his style. And yes, it does make everything better.

    10. I was sad when there wasn't a Nightmare Night sing-a-long, but the the dark music that played for parts of it made up for that. To bad they reused Nightmare's music so much, though.

I was also wondering why no pony was making Nightmare Night music. Now at least there's something dark to play at the Nightmare Night party, other than Luna's Fury.

    11. Octavia's 9th was a bit too heavy on the woodwinds for my liking, but I'm also biased against woodwinds.

Spike wants to say that he agrees, but he's too busy tooting his own horn to say so himself.

I agree, I'd have taken the woodwinds especially down an octave. And I'd, I dunno, try either a new instrument or a new synth program for the instrument that enters around 3:53. Still, a good song. I really enjoyed the string carried melody around 2:37.
A lot of orchestral pieces we get here sound like soundtracks or ambience (which is fine, and I have like 30 great ones on my iPod) but we don't often get to listen to songs that mimic actual classical styles, and this one did it really quite well.
      Enormous kudos to the composer.
