@AspectOfTheStorm I liked Octavia's Triumph enough to download it, and I'll probly download Octavia's Uprising as well, but I have two problems with both songs. First, they both end extremely abruptly. I'd prefer a bit of a wind-down near the end, but that's just me and my musical tastes. The other problem I have is that both songs are very reminiscent (to me, at least) of music from Halo. They're still good, but it's very odd to hear them and think of Master Chief.
Sorry about that. I've been trying to fix that in my newer songs. I guess I was trying to go for a dramatic stop or something lol. I'll definitely have to work on that.
Whoever did number2... you pillaged that from my mind and I want it back! lol, but seriously, that sounds like a song my friends and I used to play back in the day called Man or Machine. (people seems to really love that kind of note progression, wonder why that is?) This makes me miss that song so hard... Awesome song though! Keep up the good work
It's good that Octavia's getting some love because I'm not sure when we'll see her again in the series. It's funny because she only appeared in one episode for only a little bit, yet we all love her anyway. Just like the other ponies who only appeared for a few seconds (Luna, Vinyl Scratch). But that's a good thing.
#1 Californiacation is love. Alicornication is orgasm.
I absolutely love it. Well a minor nitpick that the vocals were choppy, but he delivered this so true to the original song in his own little original style I quickly forgot about it.
#2 I'd love to see more of this please~ :D
Epic violin/string tracks are a rare breed but this fandom brings them out of the wood work in droves. I'd love to see it build into something larger. Thanks for such a nice piece!
#1 The singing could use a bit of work for sure, but the lyrics are pretty solid overall. Plus, like I said before, I'm a sucker for pony-themed songs with actual pony lyrics in them. Work on your singing a bit more and this could be pretty good. :D
#2 Ah, there we are. Something with my name on it that's strong and dynamic-sounding. I like it. Excellent piece. :)
#3 Not too bad. It sounds maybe a little bland to me. But I still enjoyed it.
Wow, all were amazing! Although #1 was my favorite but that's because I've been listening to that song since I was five, but I liked all of it. Great job!
I didn't like that Californication song when it came out and I still don't like it. Unfortunately, this also means I don't particularly like the first one. As for Ocatvia's piece, I'm glad someone besides Makkon and I are going for an epic orchestral sound. c: It was ok, but that would sound better if it was a cello ensemble. And I'd check to see how realistic it would be for a cellist to play. Lastly, just get a better VST when you can. I personally like LA Scoring Strings but that's just me. Number 3, I suppose it does what it's meant to do. It is nice as unambitious background music or chill music. I personally am not liking the simplicity and repetitive nature of the genre but that is purely a matter of taste. However it was produced quite nicely I will say, good job. c:
@Lolstaz I liked the original Californication but I _really_ liked this one, it's gone straight to my 'infinite loop' pony playlist. Good job (the vocals could do with improving, but it's not affecting my enjoyment of the track - and I've got the singing ability of a fox in heat so I'm in no position to complain!).

god damn it, i did it again.
ReplyDeletei refreshed the site on the hour without even meaning to.
And I thought RHCP couldn't get any better.
ReplyDeleteHey, another one of my songs! Hope you guys enjoy it.
ReplyDelete#2 was cool, I liked that middle when it changed from the fast paced to the calm and back again, really well done.
ReplyDeleteOh wow dat first song.
ReplyDeleteAn alicorn is not a winged unicorn. An alicorn is a unicorn's horn. A winged unicorn is called a unisus or a pegacorn.
ReplyDelete@Luca Welp they've been called alicorns since day one and it's stuck I don't see those other terms taking hold.
ReplyDeleteDamn, Alicornication is probably one of the coolest FiM themed songs I've heard ever.

I didn't care for the singer's voice in #1. It sounded like he was straining a bit, and I couldn't listen to the whole song because of it.
ReplyDelete#3 also bugged me, but only because I expected something Portal-related.

ReplyDeleteRather a bit of Octavia music lately. I Like it.

ReplyDelete-hugs Octavia-
Well, the large rainbowdash (not an alicorn - The horn was cut off) didnt sell and moved to anoter spot on ebay for another 6 days or so.
ReplyDelete@Luca
ReplyDeleteAnd a winged horse is called a "winged horse". Pegasus was a particular winged horse. We move on.
LOVING Octavia's Uprising, it was spectacularly done.
ReplyDelete#1 was good, liked that version of the song.
ReplyDelete#3 good as well, nothing too special though. That may have just been my spacing out while listening to it though, even then, that's not a good sign.

ReplyDelete#2 Was a fun piece... nicely done!
ReplyDeletei really love the first one.
ReplyDeletealicornication....jesus thats clever/genius
that Octavia number is epic
ReplyDeleteI liked the lyrics in #1 so much that I enjoyed it even though I don't really like Californication, RHCP, or parody songs in general.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, for a second there I thought Muse had actually made it into the Brony fandom. : ( Someone really does need to try a Brony PMV at least of them.
ReplyDelete@iBcraZ
ReplyDeleteAaaand, now I feel old. Anyone else?
#1 was quite epic.
#2 was quite epic.
#3 was quite enjoyable (I don't mean that badly, it was! Just rough company tonight).
I would imagine it would have been Red Hot Filly Peppers.
ReplyDelete:P
Dear Celestia those first two were epic!
ReplyDeleteAll 3 songs are awesome.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like that Californication song when it came out and I still don't like it. Unfortunately, this also means I don't particularly like the first one.

yay!
ReplyDeleteAlicornication got on here!
@AspectOfTheStorm
ReplyDeleteI just realized this kind of music could sound a lot like a metal song with chugging and overdrive. Great work!
@ismbof
ReplyDeleteI actually wrote this song on my guitar and transposed it over, so it actually originated from a drop C metal sound.
One of my favorite songs by my favorite band and my favorite cartoon combined . . . it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlicornication is a seminal masterpiece of our time.
