Hmmm, also no news from Ponychan (One of their editors got in touch with me for a fic I wrote a LOOOONG time ago. Actually really helped. Might polish it up even more... My life goal atm is to get at least one fic on EqD... Stupid goal.

Well, I wasn't around when the previous post capped up, but thanks for including me in the final post guys :D
Hopefully, I won't encounter any Blogger hate in this post, and should be able to comment normally (without sending mass spam to people who subscribe...).
Also, my midterms (which are really just like tests) are coming up soon, so I *may* be slightly inactive, although I'll try my best to keep up to date with stuff here.
In the unlikely case, that for some reason, I'm unable to check in at all, see you all around in about a 3-4 weeks!

@amddude For some, life is not complete unless they're complaining about something or other. EqD may not be perfect, but I have yet to see a site that is. Complaining on Reddit just makes it that much more ironic. It's better to choose to see these sites for what good they do, not nitpick every little thing that bugs people. Just my thoughts, of course.

Thanks for understanding! It's not like I'm going to do only about a post a week or something, I'll still try to be fairly active. Like I said, they're just like tests, that's why they're only 40 minutes long, but they still go on my report, so I still have to study for them. What I have to (sort of) think about are my finals, but those are in June (I think) so I'm okay for now

I don't get it either. Yeah, EqD isn't perfect, but it's good qualities far out weigh the bad. I've been coming here for about 7 months now and ive yet to be disappointed with what goes on here. :3

Understandable. we have midterms over here too. They are mostly done to prepare us for the actual Finals, but they do account for some of our grade as well, so we can't just fluff them and move on. :P
Sure EqD isn't perfect but it better then most of the others.

Thanks, I'm trying to get a job in voice acting.
I listen to the voice acting in games very closely and a ridiculous amount of it is pretty bad, so I figured the bar is actually pretty low.
I'm mainly trying to get into doing voices for video games and cartoons.
I submitted auditions to Project SATURATION (a pony fan movie) to play Discord and the guard captain, but the voices they went with instead were better than mine.
I also submitted auditions for a few characters in the audiobook for Through the Eyes of Another Pony, but they haven't finished casting yet.

My voice doesn't have alot of range like yours though, so i'd be forced to go for the deep voiced characters, those who sound stern or serious. Those with deep booming voices that command repect, that sorta thing.
I'm trying to get into the radio business anyways, might as well see how good my voice broadcasts, right? :3
@MyBoyJ You're right, there is quite a lot of bad voice acting out there, but I don't think the bar has to be all that low for you to have a shot. You've already got a good grasp on things, so at this point, I'd venture to say it's all about meeting the right people.

The only real nit-pick I can come up with is that I'm not sure I can approve of how you're having the computer 'talk'. I know you want to set its text apart from your OC's pony, but I don't think the way you're doing it is the right way. I know you're going for 'text on a screen', but I think using a different method of presenting it would work.
VastaKustutaWhat I'd like you to consider doing is altering that. Here's an example of what I mean.
-Data Not Recognized.
-User Is New.
-Clearance Level?
Instead of that, consider:
A long unused monitor struggled back to life. The power surge nearly shorted it out, but fortunately it resisted as text began to display for the first time since the end of the Lunar War. 'Data is not recognized. User is not visually identifiable. New user? Query. What is your current clearance level?'
See? You can give the text a 'voice' even without it being speech.
Give that a shot and I think you'll be ready to go.

VastaKustutaI was thinking about doing something like dramatic readings. But, like you said, I'd have to imitate the characters from the show and I really don't think I can get my voice that high pitched.
Something like the TTEOAP audiobook is different because it's full of male OC's who don't have established voices.
I pay so much attention to voice acting and it bothers me when someone does a poor imitation of a well known voice.
Some of the voices in the Doctor Whooves radio play that was posted yesterday just sounded too far off in my opinion; especially Pinkie and Spike. Those parts were acted well, but the voice differences were very noticeable, and it pulled me out of the experience.

VastaKustutaSome people have been saying that Bronies are the most gullible fandom, but I think that may be a result of Sethisto's gullibility.
If we see something posted on the front page of EqD, we quickly (and logically) assume that it is legitimate. We reasonably assume that Sethisto, who almost always makes the posts that end up debunked, has checked them for validity before unleashing them upon us.
Ultimately, I'm kind of blaming him for the panic, or ecstasy, that results from these false posts. But I was listening to him on the livestream the other day and I understand that sometimes it's hard to determine what's genuine and what's not.
That said, unless he has %100 verification that "big news" is true, he should label it as a rumor to avoid the cycle of enthusiasm followed by disappointment, or panic followed by relief that he's been subjecting us to for roughly the last month.

I learnt a lot about writting thanks to that fic, but I think I bit off more then I could chew. Really, since I wrote that my standards have kinda increased. Now when I look at it I see 60K of re-writting to do.
I might just mass dump all the chapters at once, or give it to somepony as a very large synopsis. I looked around for a co-author but gave up on that quickly. Too bad, I was about 5 chapters away from the end.
Well, I have pretty much recovered completely from that strange illness, so yay.

I started to dilike the story in the end aswell. I really like my new fic though. (of Steam Gears and Wings, that story about steampunk scoot). So when I finish oSG$W I might retur to TLE.
